1. Sure, I remember that! A Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda game, after all! :) But, you seem to be confused; you get the Pendant of Courage in the first dungeon, then the Pendant of Power in the second dungeon, and then you get the Pendant of Wisdom in the third dungeon. (Courage is green, Power is red, Wisdom is blue, just like the Three Goddesses in Ocarina of Time). But anyway, enough about the Pendants of Virtue... and onto the subject at hand! I'm assuming that you got the Pegasus Shoes from Sahasrahla (the guy in the building over by Level 1, Eastern Palace); you get them from him after beating Level 1. Once you have those, go to the Library in Kakariko Village; there's a book up on one of the shelves. Use the Pegasus Shoes to dash into the shelf, knocking off the book. Cangratulations, you've just gotten the Book of Mudora! This book will prove to be vital to your quest, and more than once, too. Take the book to the Desert of Mystery, in south-west Hyrule, and you'll find a stone slab in the middle of three weird, head statue things. When you try to read the writing on the slab, you'll just see gibberish. What you don't know, is that this is ancient Hylian writing. Use the Book of Mudora in front of the slab to translate the writing. This will trigger the three heads to move, opening the way into Level 2, Desert Ruins, but blocking the way back at the same time. That's how you get into Level 2, where you'll find the Pendant of Power. If you need help inside the dungeon, or with any other part of the game, feel free to PM me. I know everything about A Link to the Past. :toothy:
2. Um... why would Nintendo want to release games from one of their own franchises on a competing system? That just wouldn't be smart for them, because they'd be helping their competition. I think that Nintendo would have to become a 3rd party developer before you'd see a Pokémon game on any system besides a Nintendo system.
3.
Originally posted by G/S/B Master But whoever made it must be the one who created the master ball.
Didn't Silph Co. make the Master Ball? It was a prototype or something, so there was only one of them (at that time), and then the president of Silph gave it to you (Ash) when you rescued him from Team Rocket... I think that's how it went... It's been a long time since I did that in Yellow, so I'm not quite sure. But I remember that you get it from the president of Silph Co. anyway.
4. Well, on eBay I saw it for about $15... And the price will most likely be higher than that, since the auction hadn't ended yet... And if it includes the instruction manual, it might go for a bit more. The Mouse included would be a big plus, since those are pretty hard to find by themselves. I'd say about $25-$30, maybe, with the Mouse.
5. Well, they're planning on releasing at least one game before the end of 2002. What this game is, I don't think they've said. Square has said that FF Tactics is being remade for the GBA, though. I will be buying it, since I never played it on the PS1, and because I've heard that it's really good. Another thing to note is that Game Designers Studio will be using money from Fund Q, a fund set up by Hiroshi Yamauchi (the president of Nintendo Co. Ltd.). Specifically, that fund is for making games that use the connectivity of the GBA and GCN. So, you can be pretty sure that there will be at least one game that makes use of this feature. And I don't see how it would hurt Square's profits, if they released FF games on the GCN and/or GBA... After all, that's just more people that will be buying their games... So it would increase their profits, I'd think.

Yeah, I know about the Food trophy... I guess I just forgot about it, though... Heheh, I guess I know how to get all of them after all. Currently I have around 775 matches, I think. Well, I haven't used a guide at all. Not once, even though my friend offered to lend it to me. (He got it free with his Nintendo Power subscription, but he doesn't have SSBM; he just borrows it from me). Hmm... looks like you'll have to wait just like us, Sephiroth... The GCN was released on November 18 here in the US, and SSBM was released on December 3 (the same day as Pikmin). Of course, I had to wait for Christmas just to get the system, let alone a game, so it didn't make any difference, in my case. A trick for the Home Run Derby: Pick Yoshi, and pick up the Home Run Bat first. Then jump up and immediatly do the Down+A air move on Sandbag. If you can pull it off quick enough, Yoshi will just barely jump, but he'll hit with all of the little kicks. Do this for as long as you can, and then hit Sandbag with a Smash Attack from the Bat. If you do the Down+A air enough times, you can get over 2,000 ft. (I got just over 2,000, doing it pretty much perfectly). This should unlock the Yoshi's Island stage, I think. I'm pretty sure you need 1,500 ft. on one character to unlock it, or around that far.
7.
Originally posted by Wes Also, you do fight Ganondorf at the Temple of Time, but since it's a cinema scene, don't expect to win.
No, you don't fight him. At least it never shows you fighting him, even in the cut-scene. I think he comes into the Temple after the Master Sword has put you to sleep, because it shows the cut-scene after everything goes white when you pull the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time. So if he comes in after you pull out the Master Sword, then you couldn't fight him, because you'd be asleep.
8.
Originally posted by zidane11 They probaly just wanted to get a game out fast and make sales. They need to take more time with what there doing.
Are you talking about why the graphics are cel shaded? If so, it's not because they wanted to get the game out fast. Miyamoto said that they were starting to make the GCN Zelda game with realistic-looking graphics, and that he decided not to because he didn't like the way the Zelda series was heading. He pretty much said that he didn't want the graphics looking realistic because the game itself isn't realistic. I mean, the story does sound kind of like a fairy-tale... So it makes sense for it to look cartoony... But, I do wish that they had made Link look different. Not because I don't like his current look (except for the eyes, which Miyamoto said he's changing), but because I think he should look like the art from A Link to the Past:
9. Well, I remember Navi and I think kuja being Moderators of the Zelda forum... Then a little after the v4 upgrade, I replaced them. But then I became a Super Moderator, so now there aren't any Moderators for the Zelda forum. But I still moderate in Zelda (I'm the Series Otaku Moderator, after all), and there really isn't enough activity to warrent a Moderator in Zelda. And you can still post help threads and get a helpful answer, that hasn't changed. Well, you'll get a helpful answer if you provide enough information so that people can tell what it is that you're having trouble with, anyway. I'm always happy to help. But, this would be more a question that you'd PM someone to get the answer. This really isn't about Zelda, it's about the Zelda Forum. Thread Closed
10. Yeah, I really don't like to use walkthroughs/guides for Zelda games either. The only time I'll use one is if I'm stuck on a boss, and I can't figure out how to hit the dang thing. If I get stuck for a long time, then I'll look up how to hit it, so I can get on with the game. Sure, it's satisfying to figure it out on your own, but I'd rather just get on with the rest of the game; I get more enjoyment out of the exploring, story, and puzzles than fighting bosses. I never have liked bosses of any kind, though, except a few in Ocarina of Time. (Barinade, Valvagia, and Morhpa were fun to fight, but I don't really like any other bosses, at all). This has very really happened, though. If I'm just stuck on a puzzle or I can't beat a boss because it's too hard (this has never happened, I've always really wailed on all the bosses, once I knew how to hit them :D), I wouldn't use a guide or walkthrough. After all, I bought the game so I could solve the puzzles and be able to explore Hyrule, or whatever other land the game happens to be set in, and for the story.
11. Okay, in Ages, take the secret to the Tokay in the meat-tossing game (the one where you toss meat in front of the Tokays that walk down the sides of the room). It's in the present, around the north-east corner of the island. To get a sword upgrade in Seasons, go to the Ember Seed Tree just south of the shop in Lynna Village (in password-linked Ages), after beating Level 4, Skull Dungeon, in the present. You should find a woman there. Talk to her, and she'll tell you a password. Now go to the Clock Shop in Horon Village (in Seasons) and dig along the top of the shop. You should find a secret cave, where you'll play a minigame to earn a sword upgrade and another password. You can take the password to Farore in Ages to get the same upgrade. To get a shield upgrade in Seasons, go to to the Mystery Seed Tree in password-linked Ages, that's just north-east of the entrance to Level 6, Mermaid's Cave, in the past. You should find a Subrosian there that has a mesaage for the Subrosian Smithy in Seasons. Take the message to the Smithy to get a shield upgrade and a password. Take the password to Farore in Ages to get the same upgrade.
12.
Originally posted by Nerdsy And of course they're easier. Like someone pointed out before to me, we have 8 more gyms after that! If the Elite Four were the hardest in the game, where's the challenge to go after the 8 Gym Leaders in Kanto? There is none! It would be one boring battle after another just to get to Ash.
The thing is, I didn't find the Kanto Gym Leaders to be any harder than one of the Elite Four... So it was pretty much just one boring battle after another...
13. Now that I think about it, the only game I've seen with animé style cut scenes is Chrono Trigger in Final Fantasy Chronicles... CG seems normal for cut scenes, to me, although I like the animé style almost as much.

Well, I assume he means that he's unlocked all the hidden character, stages, options, that sort of thing... I only need three more trophies on my game, and then I'll have everything... Which will be very satisfying. The last one that I'll get will probably be Diskun, becuase you have to get all 249 bonuses to get it... I think I'm missing around 20 or so. Then, I need the Captain Olimar trophy, but I'll get that as soon as I clear off one of my Memory Card 59s, and start a game on Pikmin (my friend has it, and he's letting me borrow it). ...I'm not sure how to get the other one that I'm missing.
15. I was just looking through this thread, and I suddenly noticed that it was full of spam... A bunch of people had simply posted, telling how they voted on the poll, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a poll... If you have a poll, people don't need to post to rate the game. If you actually have something to say about your likes/dislikes about the game, that's fine. But just posting something like "I give it a 9. The story is good and the graphics are really cool!" is kind of pointless. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that the graphics are good, and I think that most people agree that the story is good too. But anyway, I deleted the spam. Please don't post just to tell how you voted on the poll... Like I said, it makes the poll pretty pointless...
16. Yeah, I agree with you on that... Fighting five bird tamers in a row can get old... I also think that the trainers should use more items, and maybe be a little smarter. As it is, only the Gym Leaders and Elite Four are very smart, and they seem to be the only ones that use many items. I think I've seen a couple other trainers use items, but not many.
17. Wow... I guess this just goes to show that the Elite Four in G/S are easier than in R/B/Y... Except Lance, but he's not one of the Elite Four anymore... In R/B/Y, you'd never be able to beat the Elite Four with just two Pokémon... At least not without a ton of items... Or, if they're level 100, I suppose... But that's kind of weird... I guess the Elite Four's Pokémon have a lot of weaknesses to Fire and Flying, or at least to the types of attacks that you usually find on Fire and Flying types.
18.
Originally posted by James ...but Nintendo has a history of aggressively defending its market position.
Like when the PlayStation's price dropped down below that of the Nintendo 64, so Nintendo cut the price of the N64 to $150 (the price of the PSX, after the cut). A little while after that is when I bought my N64. Price wars are great for the consumer, heheh.
19. Yes, you are correct, BlueGender. Nintendo hasn't said a thing about the storyline of the GCN Zelda game... I'm looking forward to all the news from E3; with the playable demos, there's probably going to be at least some news about the story... And a demo disk would be awsome! It'd be cool if they released it with Super Mario Sunshine or some other big game that lots of people are going to buy.
20. This is a favorites thread, which are not allowed. You've been here long enough to know that they aren't allowed, too. Do not post any more of them. Thread Closed
21.
Originally posted by slasher here is one that is true okay.rip your spine out, go to the nearest 4-way intersection, skip rope with your spine, and shout"THE TRIFORCE IS NOT IN OoT!" that should do it:toothy:
Okay, that post was complete spam... It has already been said a few times at that start of the thread that the Triforce is not in Ocarina of Time; that post was totally unnecessary. Bringing back this thread if you had had another rumor to post would have been fine... But bringing it back and just posting spam in it is unacceptable. Plus, I've seen you do this in the past. And, you just posted a favorites thread... Just so you know, I'm going to be keeping an eye on you...
22. Please don't bring back old threads like this, where the question has already been answered... Normally, bringing back old threads is fine, but there's really not anything more to say in this one. Thread Closed
23. Drake: Yes, you can buy almost anyone, if you have enough money. Satoru: I see there are at least a few people left that can't be bought... Drake: Well, before... the accident... on the mission... I could've been swayed with enough money. But now, I don't really care about the money very much, actually. I'm not really sure what I'm living for, anymore... Satoru: So that's why you didn't just turn me in? Drake: I guess so... I want to do what's right... I... have a dept, I guess you could say... Satoru: Those two members of your team? Drake nods silently... Drake: ...Could we change the subject?
24. Someone edited the poll... Currently there are 2598 votes, but there are only 2592 members on OtakuBoards... So, um, yeah... I think the whole Ruins of Alph part was cool. That was one of my favorite parts in the game, actually (I was playing Gold). I think expanding that part in Crystal was a good idea. I wish I could do it in Crystal, so I could see what they added, though.
25. You're talking about Final Fantasy XI. It will be all online, and you'll need the PS2 Network Adapter and Hard Drive to play it. And yes, there will be a monthly fee in order to play, also. In Japan, it's equal to about $10 a month. There are already two threads on FFXI on the first two pages already, though. If you want to talk about it, use one of those. Thread Closed
