Gaming What Nintendo games are you buying this year!!
Desbreko replied to hemmorhoid's topic in Noosphere
This is pretty much a "favorites" thread, which are against the rules. And besides, most people are listing the same games over and over again... I think pretty much everyone is going to get Mario, Metroid, and all the other games that you know are going to be great. Thread Closed. -
Originally posted by kizu I don't like the ending either. She takes he Ocarina away from him and sends him back. But then in Majora's Mask she gives him the Ocarina to remember her by. It doesn't make any sence to me way she did that. The only reason I could think of is to make other than to make a sequal.
If you think about it, there really isn't much of a plot hole. Remember at the very end, it shows Link walking up to Zelda in the Castle Courtyard? I'm thinking that Zelda gave Link the Ocarina of Time then. Since Ganon (One "n" in the middle, except when refering to "Gannon" in the original game) is sealed in the Sacred Realm, the future is different. So, Zelda gives him the Ocarina of Time, since he is the Hero of Time, after all. He'd be the best person to keep the Ocarina of Time. As for Epona, I think that he went to Lon Lon Ranch before Hyrule Castle, and got her from Malon. I liked the ending to Ocarina of Time, also. Especially the music (usually my favorite part in any ending, actually). I think Ocarina of Time's ending is actually my favorite, out of the ones that I've seen (haven't seen the Majora's Mask ending or the Oracle games' endings, or the Zelda II ending). Heck, the first one didn't even have an ending! It just had Link and Zelda holding up the Triforce of Wisdom and Power, and then the credits rolled.
Originally posted by Nerdsy But the Gameboy games usually have only 8 dungeons. OoT has 10, not counting the Well or Ganon's Tower. Counting those, it would be 12. So OoT actually makes you spend more time in dungeons. So, the by standards you seem to have, how could OoT be better?
Umm... no, Ocarina of Time only has 8 dungeons... There's Inside the Great Deku Tree, the Dodongo's Cavern, Jabu Jabu's Belly, the Forest Temple, the Fire Temple, the Water Temple, the Shadow Temple, and the Spirit Temple. That makes 8, all together... There are smaller "sub-dungeons," though. These are the Ice Cavern, the Bottom of the Well, the Gerudo Training Ground, and Ganon's Castle (I think that's all of them). Personally, I like the Game Boy Zelda games how they are. In Link's Awakening, there's actually quite a bit to do, besides dungeons. There's lots of places to explore, there's the Secret Shells to collect, there's the trading sequence, and other stuff. Same with the Oracle games, for the most part. In the Oracle games, there are lots of Rings to collect, and the trading sequence, although it does seem like there isn't quite as much exploring. It seems like you're pretty much pointed to the next dungeon, in them (it gives you a hint for finding the next one, after all). But, there's still lots of secrets to find and other stuff besides dungeons.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Thanks for the help guys, I just found a copy... :D Though now I gotta go back home and get my money... :toothy: Is this game good for a challenge?
If you're talking about the first Bomberman 64, yes. I've never played the second one... But yeah, it can be challenging. Sometimes it's even just really hard to find where to go in a level. One stage was almost like a maze, it seemed like. I've realy been missing out... I've never played multi-player Bomberman... Maybe I'll rent The Second Attack! and have my friends over sometime.
Originally posted by slasher and a links awaking, ithink it gos between oracle of ages and seasons. Why? because lik gets on a boat. then he gets hit by the storm and blah blah blah.......
Umm... why would that make it go between Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons?
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX instruction booklet Though you fulfilled the Hyrulian prophecy of the Legendary Hero and destroyed the evil tyrant Ganon, the land of Hyrule enjoyed only a precarious peace. "Who knows what threats may arise from Ganon's ashes?" the restless people murmured as they knitted their brows and shook their heads. Ever vigilant, you decide to journey away from Hyrule on a quest for enlightenment, in search of wisdom that would make you better able to withstand the next threat to your homeland.
Looking at this, it's obvious that Link's Awekening is set after one of the games in which Link defeats Ganon in Hyrule. Those are Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, and The Legend of Zelda. It can't be after Ocarina of Time since Majora's Mask is set only about a month after Ocarina of Time, and Link is still living in Kokiri Forest at the time. That leaves A Link to the Past, and The Legend of Zelda. It never says what happens right after either of these, so either one could be right. Like I've already said, I think it's set after A Link to the Past, but it's never actually said which. It's also obvious that it couldn't be set in between or directly after the Oracle games. Yes, Link defeats Ganon in the Oracle games, but not in Hyrule. It clearly states that "Though you fulfilled the Hyrulian prophecy of the Legendary Hero and destroyed the evil tyrant Ganon, the land of Hyrule enjoyed only a precarious peace." This means that Link defeated Ganon in Hyrule, and returned peace to the land. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh, and if anyone is confused about when to use "Hylian" and "Hyrulian," you use Hyrulian when referring to something from the land of Hyrule. You use Hylian when referring to the Hylian race of people that live in Hyrule. Like, when you refer to Link, you say that he's Hylian, because that's the race that he belongs to. If you're referring to the Master Sword, you'd say it's Hyrulian, because it's from the land of Hyrule.

Well, I'm not sure it'll be worth that much, but maybe. It'll most likely be worth a whole lot, though. You can count on being able to get at least $150, though, if Pokémon stuff goes up in value.
Originally posted by Cloud That was the first time you fight him in the game i may add.... terra had ultima ... (i know shes learns it, as does celes..... i'm almost positive i had it... lol) i also loved the opera.... gotta love 8 bit singing voices :).
No, you fight him on the raft, when you're going down the river from the Returners HQ back to Narshe. Who can forget Sabin jumping in after him and yelling "I'm going to hit it with a Blitz!" or something like that, LOL. I had an mp3 of someone actually singing the words that Celes sings, to the tune that's playing in the game. I deleted it, though. Don't know why... Now I wish I still had it... :(
Originally posted by The Evil King How did ya like part 2?
It was just as screwed up as part 1. Infact, I think it's even more screwed up! Maybe Link should be turned into a Pol's Voice? Then he could enjoy hopping all over the place, LOL. By the way, you should get rid of the double post.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Well I've got a gold plate, with pikachu carved into it (this was a long time ago that I bought it ;)).... and I got it for $150.... so do you think that will go up in price aswell?
I'd think that if any Pokémon stuff goes up in value, that would. How pure is the gold, do you know?

No, it doesn't show a picture... But it's still kind of funny to think about it. I think that when it shows you flying away, it still just shows a bird. We've never seen if it would learn any moves, actually. He just taught it all of the HMs, excluding Flash (he just uses it when he needs a Pokémon that knows an HM move). We've also never used it in a battle, actually... It might be a fun thing to try out. I think it was level 1, or some really low level, though.
Originally posted by Cloud mews... hahah my friend got a mew from one of his friends that got it from one of his friends... and so on, someone in a line of friends got a mew from nintendo... he traded it to me on my silver, i duplicated it like 100+ times, we went to the flea market thats held down around where i live on sundays, and sold mews for like $15.... it was crazy how much money we made....
Yeah, but it's dirty money, kind of... Unless they have one of these (see attachment), I wouldn't believe that a person's Mew is authentic. And I wouldn't battle anyone that's using a fake Mew, because it's cheating.
Originally posted by Cloud I don't mind if you talk about him, i was just being silly, just messing around, he was just annoying... But your right i wanted revenge on him.... i raised my levels to 99 one time before i fought him... just so i would absoultey slaughter him...
Now that is truly psychotic... I mean, I really hated him, but not that much... And I still slaughtered him, without doing that... Every time that I fought him. :demon: The thing that I most hate him for, is disrupting the opera... The opera is my favorite part in the whole game... Believe it or not, I actually like listening to those fake voices "sing" LOL. Ironic thing is, I don't like opera in real life. :whoops:

You might still be able to find it new somewhere, but you'd probably have to look really hard. I rented it, back when it was first released, and I didn't like it that much. It was fun for awhile, but it also had a few problems, like with the camera on a few of the levels. On one level, with lots of edges that you could fall off of, it was really hard to see where you were going, sometimes... You might try to find Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! It looked like it was better than the first Bomberman 64 (I have an issue of NP with lots of info on it). Plus, it's 2-player in the main game. (I love Pommy. It's cute, and it can transform into other creatures :D). It's also newer, so you might be able to find it a little easier.

One of my friends has Blue, and he got a Kangaskhan that's able to learn all of the HMs (except maybe Flash). I think he got it by using a Rare Candy on a missingno, but I'm not sure. It's really weird to use fly with a Kangaskhan, LOL.

LOL! That's pretty good! Keep up the good work!
Originally posted by The Evil King NAR.-Well then go, don't tell me about it!
I thought this was the funniest part. I was laughing my head off, while reading this!
Originally posted by Squashed Snail And as far as I know, the programmers put Missingno in B/R because they were bored, or wanted to add something to the game.... :worried:
It wasn't added, it was a mistake... Mistake, bug, glitch, whatever you want to call it. It's not actually meant to be in the game. That's why it'll screw up your game, sometimes, and that's also why they took it out of Yellow. Oh, and if you do catch missingno (I really recommend that you don't), DO NOT transfer it to Pokémon Stadium 1 or 2. There's a chance that it'll screw up your Transfer Pak, so it won't transfer any Pokémon at all.

I'm guessing it will take at least ten years before they're worth much... Zelda has been out since 1986, and now the old merchandise is getting expensive, if you can find it. Just look on eBay for the old merchandise, from the 80s. Or, better yet, look for the old Game & Watch Zelda game. Those are really expensive! I'm thinking this might happen with Pokémon stuff, too, when it gets older. And the cards might be collectors items, who knows? I'm hoping they will be!

Hey Flash! Are you ever going to have those questions done?! It's been, what, two weeks? And you said you'd probably have them almost a week ago... What's going on here?

When we got DSL, the phone company (Pacific Bell) actually came out and inspected the phone lines (which were from the 60s) to see if they would support DSL. They wouldn't, so they replaced them! For free! My point is, you should call your phone company up, and tell them about it going really slow. They might just do something about it, you never know. Or, e-mail them. Then, if they don't do anything, call them. Then, if they don't respond to that, actually go to the office and complain. The trick to getting things like this done is to complain until they do something about it, it seems like, LOL. -
I'm keeping all of my 1st Edition cards (which include all three Fossil Set, Holo Legendary Birds). I also have my Pikachu World collection binder (see attachment). I'm thinking that they'll be worth a decent amount, sometime (not sure if I'd want to sell the Pikachu World Collection, though). As for my other cards, I'll sell them if I can get a good price. I have a mint condition Charizard, but I'm not going to sell it for less that $25 (I probably won't be able to find anyone to buy it, though). I also have a bunch of other rare, holo cards that I'll sell, but probably won't be able to, for the prices I'm asking, LOL.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail So does Yellow, with the use of cheats.... ;)
So, you have to use a cheat so that you can use a glitch? Seems kind of odd to me... Aren't there just cheats that let you duplicate items? That would be easier. But yeah, missingno isn't in Yellow. Not without using a cheat or something, anyway. They fixed the glitch. And no, there isn't anything in Gold or Silver like that. Not that I know of, anyway. The developers probably checked for stuff like that, when they were making Gold and Silver.
Originally posted by \¤~NoodleZ~¤/ I would have to get rid of Victrebell. So worthless! And it sucks in the game too! Why does everyone diss the original three? Meowth, Weezing and Arbok rule!
Really, Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing were the original three, but then Ekans and Koffing evolved. I guess they're kind of the same, though... I think that Weezing is also getting old... It only seems to have two attacks, and one of them is pretty useless. There's always a Pokémon that just blows it's Smoke Screen away, LOL. I also just don't like Weezing very much... I prefered Koffing. Maybe it's because Koffing always seems to be grinning, while Weezing always seems to be frowning... I don't really have any idea why, other than that, LOL.

I don't know about it being a must buy game... My brother rented it awhile ago, and I played it some. I didn't think it was that good... Of course, he beat the game during the five days we had it, and completed all of the objectives. It's not a very long game, and it didn't look like there was much replay value, to me. Maybe some, but not a lot. Anyway, I think it's a good game, but I wouldn't buy it. If I really wanted to play it more, I'd just rent it.

I've been thinking about getting an ocarina, but I don't have enough money right now (that, and there are too many GCN games that I want :D). You can get ocarinas that look like the Ocarina of Time at www.songbirdocarina.com. I'd get an extended range one, if I were going to get one, even if it is ten dollars more. You'd be able to play more songs on it. Picture: https://secure.ioncart.com/songbird/custom/images/sweet_potato_new2.jpg
