1. Drake makes the Chocobo run at full speed, away towards the gap in the mountains... Beyond which, lay Midgar. Drake: Dang! this one's fast! Now I'm really glad I rented one. I doubt I would've caught one this fast in the wild! He rides on over the grasslands, speeding across the flat terrain. He sees a few monsters, but none are quick enough to catch the Chocobo. After about an hour, he stops and lets the Chocobo rest. He takes some greens out of his pack, and gives them to to the Chocobo. He looks out to the horizon and sees the mountain range, and the gap which he'll pass through. Drake: That's about the half-way point in between the Chocobo Ranch and Midgar... Hopefull I'll be able to get through there by tonight. He hears something behind him, and turns around. He sees a small squirel-like animal, sticking part way up out of a hole in the ground. Drake: Huh? What's this? The squirel throws a rock at Drake, hitting his arm. Drake: You little [censored]! He runs over to the hole, but the squirel goes back down it. Drake: That little buttmonkey! He takes a granade off of his belt, pulls out the pin, and throws it down the hole. Then he runs away from the hole, and waits... He hears an explosion, and feels tremors in the ground. The hole caves in. Drake: That hurt, dangit! He rubs the sore spot on his arm, where the rock hit... And notices that the Chocobo is looking at him. Chocobo: Wark! Drake: .......... Alright, I think it's about time to get going again. He gets back on the Chocobo, and starts it trotting along at a decently fast pace. The mountain are getting closer and closer.
2. Okay, to get to the secret exit in Chocolate Island 2, you have to go through the pipe in the second area (it shouldn't matter which second area) of the level with 250 to 300 on the timer. Morton Koopa Jr. first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3, and then again in Super Mario World. He's one of the Koopa Kids, and Bowser is their father... Does this mean Bowser's first name is Morton?
3. Neither are NES games... But they still remade Super Mario Bros. 2, and are going to remake Super Mario Bros. 3... I don't know if there are going to be any remakes of Megadrive games, or not. I haven't heard about any, but there could be.
4. That's because they did paint over another layer of paint. Those are pictures from that site that Treble posted a link to. I'd like to see some actual pictures of your friends GCN. You might try comparing it to another normal colored GCN, and see if there's any differences at all. Oh, and before the GCN was released, they showed pictures of a bunch of different colors... One of which was gold...
5. I only need eight more trophies before I've done everything in the game... I think that you get them from playing 1P, because I haven't played 1P much besides getting the Smash trophies for each character. I have over 200 coins, and nothing to spend them on, because I can't get anymore new trophies from the lottery. Well, I suppose that you use them for continuing, but I don't have to do that very much...
6. Drake wakes up in the bed, light streaming in through the open window. He yawns, and sits up... And realizes the pain in his leg is gone. Drake: Wow... that stuff works pretty dang well... He stands up, and slowly takes a few steps. He's a bit unstable at first, but he catches his balance. He walks downstairs to find Kalai making breakfast. Kalai: Well, I thought you'd be sleeping for another couple of hours. How's the leg doing? Drake: It's great, thanks! It doesn't hurt at all. Kalai: Good! Would you like some breakfast? Drake: Sure, that sounds good! I haven't eaten anything for almost a day now... They sit down at the dining room table, to eat breakfast. Drake: I don't suppose you have a Chocobo that I could rent? Kalai: I thought that you were going to buy a Chocobo Lure Materia? Drake: Yes, I still am, but I need to get to Midgar fast. I don't want to have to catch one right now. Kalai: Why in such a hury? Drake: This little trip was only supposed to be overnight... Now it's going to be a little longer... I have some business in Midgar which needs to be taken care of before I go back to Junon. I'll be able to get a helecopter back to Junon from there. Kalai: You have a helecopter in Midgar? Drake: Well, no... But I have a friend... He'll be able to get me one for a bit. Kalai: Ah, I see... They finish up breakfast, and Drake goes and gets his pack. He puts on his trench coat and belt of granades. He also puts his rocket launcher back in its holster. Drake: Ah, back where it belongs... Kalai: Hmm? Did you say something? Drake: Oh, about the Chocobo Lure Materia. He takes out some money, and counts out 2000 Gil. Drake: Here you are. He hands the money to Kalai. Kalai: Thank you, I'll be right back... She walks into the next room, and returns carrying a purple Materia orb. Kalai: Here's the Materia. Do you know how to use it? He puts the Materia into a small pouch, which also contains his Sense and Lightning Materia. Drake: Yes, thank you. Did you have a Chocobo I could rent for the trip to Midgar, then? Kalai: Oh, yes. Come out into the stable and take a look. They walk out into the stable, where the Chocobos are kept. Drake selects one, and pays Kalai. They saddle it up, and Drake gets on. Kalai: It's been a pleasure to meet you! I hope you have a safe journey. Drake: Yes, it's been very nice meeting you, too. Again, thank you for saving my life. I won't forget it. He puts his Sense and Lightning Materia into two of the slots in his rocket launcher, and, making sure it's secure in its holster, rides away from the Chocobo Ranch.
7. Does his GCN look like the one in the attachment? 'Cause that's the Spice color.
8. I think Zero is supposed to be a guy... The voices in Megaman X5 sounded like a guys voice. He does look kind of like a girl in those pictures, though. One question, though: How do you decide whether to get this one, or Megaman Xtreme 2?
9. Levels that have a yellow dot on the overworld don't have a secret exit, while the levels with a red dot have secret exits.
10. A promo Meowth card came with it, in the box. It's holographic, and a cool card. Maybe they weren't included over in Australia?
11.
Originally posted by BulmaVegeta1 Good, cuz I HATE game cube!
Must... control... fist... of... DEATH!!! Seriously, though, why do you hate the GCN? Have you ever played one? Personally, I think it's the greatest, but that doesn't mean I don't like other consoles too. I'd love to have a PS2, but I don't have the money. Even with the GCN, I had to wait and get it for Christmas (The GBA sucked up all my money in the Summer). And yes, I don't really know if Final Fantasy X will be coming out on the GCN, but I really hope it does. Or on the PC, if not the GCN. I'd really like to play it.
12. Personally, I loved the Final Fantasy VII music; it has a lot of my favorite music from the series in it. I've never played FFX, though, so I don't know what its music is like. I just have one more thing to say: The Chocobo theme from Final Fantasy II/IV RULES ALL!!! :p
13. Guess what I found! I was looking through some search results, when I found Absolute Game Boy! I thought it had been shut down, but I guess the site is actually still there. Check it out: http://www.theotaku.com/gameboy/reviews.shtml If you try and go to the home page, it takes you to OtakuGamer, but the rest still seems to be there. The images are gone, except for the box art (which is what I was searching for, actually), though. I've been reading through some of the reviews and stuff, and it provides a lot of information; I can tell that it was an excellent Game Boy site.
14. I've never heard anything about a gold colored GCN before this... It must have been a contest or something like that, otherwise we would have heard about it. I'll look into this, and see what I can find out.
15.
Originally posted by Shyguy Goudy was born in 88? That is when my little brother was born. I can't imagine someone who knows so much about gaming to be so young... it just boggles my little brain. I personally liked Mario 2, but maybe I am the only one. Birdo was the coolest!
What can I say? I've studied long and hard, LOL! :smirk: I really wish I was old enough to know what was going on during the great console war between the Super NES and the Genesis, though... I had no idea... Now I can just read about it, and remember watching my brothers play old NES and SNES games, from that time. I would have loved it, had I been a little older. At least my brother's NES still (kind of) worked by the time I started playing video games (it had a coke spilled on it, among many other things). I still got to play Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 (and later SMB2, over at a friends house), and other games. Plus SNES games, such as Super Mario World, Zelda: A Link to the Past (love at first play ;) ), Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid, and others. The Super NES remains to this day my favorite console. When one of my older brothers moved out, he gave me a big stack of old issues of Nintendo Power; so I got to read all about what was happening during the days of the NES. I still enjoy getting them out and reading them every now and then. :) I do consider SMB2 and Zelda II the worst games in the series, but that doesn't mean I don't love them! :D I loved playing Super Mario Advance, having never really played SMB2 that much, but I just like the other Mario and Zelda games more. Super Mario World is my favorite (I've beaten and done everything in it in around 7-8 times, on the SNES and GBA).
16. There, I added the "t" in the subject, so it'll show up on the list of threads. :) Well, I think it'd be great to get Virtua Fighter on the GCN... But not a watered down version... In reality, the GCN is not anymore for little kids than it is for adults. Like it's been said before, look at Resident Evil, Rogue Sqaudron II: Rogue Leader, Eternal Darkness... I sure don't consider those kids games, and I really doubt that Virtue Fighter is any more "adult" than those. And if they do make a watered down version for the GCN, I bet it wouldn't sell nearly as well as a real version.
17. What have they done to Zero!?! They made him ugly!!! Bleck... I like the old Zero better... Well, I might get this game when/if it comes out in the US... I haven't played many Megaman games, but the ones I have played were fun. Hopefully it won't be insanely difficult, like some others that I've played.
18. Shadow was a science project of Dr. Eggman's grandfather... But, he died, so Eggman broke into the complex where Shadow was and helped him escape. As for him wanting to destroy the world, I guess it's just because he's evil...
19. There, I added some. :) If you want information on the older games (pre-Paper Mario), go here. It has lots of information on the games that are actual Mario games, plus games that have cameo appearances. I was born in 1988, the year that Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Super Mario Bros. 2 came out... Both are considered the worst in both series, by most people... :( .....On the plus side, that's the year that the first issue of Nintendo Power was published!
20. While making a "back-up" copy of something you own is legal for some things, it isn't for the ROMs (Read Only Memories) of video games. Here's a page from www.nintendo.com that tells about ROMs. While downloading and playing old NES, SNES, Master System, and Genesis ROMs aren't actually hurting the company at all, since they're not making those games anymore, the companies that made them will tell you different. Personally, I don't really see it doing much harm if you're playing a ten year old NES/SNES game... Unless Nintendo is going to/has remade it for the GBA. Then I think it'd be wrong. I do think that PSX, N64, and DC ROMs are wrong, though, since they actually hurt the companies that made the game. But hey, we can all play Pac-Man as much as we want on our PCs or whatever, and it'll be legal! I guess the company that made Pac-Man (Don't remember which) made it open to the public. They have it on cell phones in Japan!
21. I own and have read all but the newest book. I really enjoyed them, and I'd like to read the latest one. I had no idea that there was a TV show or movie, though! Here's the order that they're set in, excluding the latest book (since I haven't read it) : 1. Martin the Warrior (my favorite) 2. Lord Brocktree 3. The Outcast of Redwall 4. Mossflower 5. The Legend of Luke (These last two are set at the same time, for part of the books. I put The Legend of Luke after Mossflower because it goes past where Mossflower ends). 6. Mariel of Redwall 7. The Bellmaker 8. Salamandastron 9. Redwall 10. Mattimeo 11. Pearls of Lutra 12. The Long Patrol 13. Marlfox
22.
Originally posted by Sephiroth american's, eat your heart out :p
*starts swearing very loudly* Why can't we get any of the extras, huh!? WHY, WHY, WHY!!?!?! We Americans get squat in the way of extras! It's not fair!!! *beats head on desk* Well, wait a minute... Maybe they'll include the extras in FFX if they port it to the GCN... That'd be really cool... Of course, if they do port it to the GCN, I'll buy it no matter what.
23. Drake wakes up in a room, lying in bed. A bandage is on his leg, and he feels hot. He looks around the room, but there's not much in it. There's a window in the wall, but all he can see through it is the sky, from this angle. A woman enters, and he sits up, without too much pain. Drake: Where am I? Kalai: You're at the Chocobo Ranch. Drake: I remember now... I crashed in the marsh... The Zolom attacked me... I callapsed on the doorstep... Kalai: Yes, and it's a wonder you made it that far. Even with a small wound, the Zolom's venom works fast. If you had been a couple minutes later, you wouldn't have made it. Drake: Thank you. You saved my life! What's your name? Kalai: It's Kalai. Drake: Thank you, Kalai, I owe you my life. Kalai: Oh, stop it. It's not like I could've just left you to die! Tell me, what happened? Drake tells her about setting off from Junon in the Flare Dancer, the attack, how he crashed in the marsh and his fight with the Zolom. Kalai: That's very odd... I wonder who would attack you... Drake: Well, I mean to find out... He starts to get out of the bed. Kalai: Don't get up! You have a fever! Drake: How long was I out? Kalai: A few hours... I keep some antidote for the Zolom's venom handy. You should be okay tomarrow, but you should try to rest for now. Drake notices that his rocket launcher and granades are gone. Drake: Where's my stuff? Kalai: Don't worry, it's downstairs. Drake: That reminds me, I wanted to buy a Chocobo Lure Materia... That's why I was headed here before Midgar... Kalai: Oh, okay! They're 2000 Gil each. Drake: Okay, I've got the money in my pack. I guess I can get it tomarrow. Kalai: Well, I'm glad you're awake and feeling better. Drake: Yes, and thanks again. Kalai walks out of the room, and closes the door. Drake: (thinking) A lot can happen in a day... He looks out the window to see that's it's just starting to get dark. Drake: (thinking) I'll have to see about getting a Chocobo tomarrow... And start on my way to Midgar... It'll take awhile longer than I had planned, but I'll get there. He closes his eyes and sleeps...
24. I think this RPG is on it's last leg... To bad, though... I had fun with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Hey! you're right! Where'd they go?! They continue running down a narrow corridor, the snowball rolling after them. Orion: It was a trap! Drake: When I find those penguins... :flaming: Suddenly, they come upon a hole that spans the entire width of the corridor... Drake: Ah, crap! Orion: It's too big for us to jump across, even me. Siren: So what do we do!? Drake looks up, and points. Kizu: Well that's convenient, isn't it? Above the hole, the ceiling opens and goes up to the first floor. There's a ledge halfway in between them and F1, with a block on it. Drake makes a loop in his rope and ties it, ready to throw it over the block on the ledge. Siren: Shouldn't that snowball have gotten to us by now? Drake: That's exactly the sort of thing that you shouldn't be saying right now... They turn around, to see the snowball about to hit them. Drake: SEE!!! The snowball hits them, and they sort of get pressed into it, so that they stay on it... Then they're falling, for what seems like minutes. Drake: Whee! Snow angel! Siren: You know, we could hit at any second... AND YOU'RE MAKING A SNOW ANGEL!!! Drake: Have fun while you can. Orion: Oh-- The snowball hits the floor, but the snow cushions their fall. Drake: My snow angel! NOOOOO!!! Siren: BE THANKFUL THAT WE'RE ALIVE!!! Drake: Oh, right, yeah... They stand up and look around. Kizu: Where the heck are we!? Orion: Deep in the Tower, I guess... Kizu: It is darker than up near the entrance... I can't even see the walls... Drake: *sigh* ...We weren't planning on going down this far, were we? Siren: NO! Definitely not! Drake: So this wouldn't be considered a shortcut... All: NO! Kizu: I say we look for a way back up. Siren: Yes, good idea... They all look up, and see light up at the top of the pit. Siren: Don't say it, Drake... Drake: What, say-- Siren: DON'T SAY IT! Drake: Thelightattheendofthetunnel! Siren: *sigh* ...It's hopeless... Orion: Shall we get going? Drake: Yeah, but someone else go first this time...
25. Well, I haven't played some of those, but here's the parties that I use in the ones I have played: FFII/IV - You don't get to choose. FFIII/VI - Edgar, Terra, Celes, Sabin FFVII - Cloud, Tifa, Red XIII Edit: Whoops! I forgot FFIX! FFIX - Zidane, Freya, Vivi, Garnet
