How the heck did you beat 20 of them!?!? The highest me and my brother have been able to get is 4!!! What character did you use, and how did you do it?
2.
Originally posted by Solid Snake Actually, a great number of 3rd parties contribute games for both of the systems, along with Xbox. These games are mostly sport games like Madden 2002 and SSX Tricky, but they are still extremely good. I see what you are saying though. You mean that they should have the same action games, like Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, right? Ah, but that would bring down the sales of one, if not both of the systems. There would be no reason to choose between them, no need for competition, no fun at all, in my opinion. I like it better the way it is now.
If every third party developer developed for all three consoles, then it would come down to the first and second party games... which is the way I think it should be. If a console can't hold its own with good first and second party games, then I don't think its a very good console. A good example of this is the Nintendo 64. It survived for a long time, mainly off of its first and second party games.
3.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Well believe it or not, I haven't played Paper Mario.... and by the looks of this, I don't think I want to....
I wouldn't pass on Paper Mario just because of what someone says. It may have a... different... graphical style, but I think it's still a pretty good RPG. I think that it's certainly the best real RPG on the N64. I don't consider Zelda games to be RPGs. They're more action/adventure games.
4. One of the main problems with Dragon Warrior I and II on the NES, was that you had to sit around and level/build up gold... A LOT... I can sit and do that for quite awhile and not get insanely bored, but it was just to much. Are Dragon Warrior III and IV the same way? I was thinking about getting DWIII for the GBC awhile ago. I think that if I'm going to buy another RPG it'll be Golden Sun, though.
5. Is it to late to sign up? This sounds like a really cool RPG, but I just saw the sign-up thread and it had already started...
6. What? I thought that was pretty well known... I've known it for a long time... If you don't know the number for a symbol or something (like the é in Pokémon), you can use the character map, which is under accessories in the startup menu (in Windows NT, anyway). ¥ ® © § ? ?
7. My favorite sport is soccer. Why? Because I get to kick people with my steel-toed boots and claim it was an accident! .......... Okay, so I don't actually do that... But it sure is tempting... :naughty: As for watching sports, I like watching baseball somtimes, but not really anything else. Ironically, I can't stand actually playing baseball, Lol.
8. Would you base it off one of the games, or have an original story? I think my earlier idea of making it about the Imprisoning War would be cool... But then Link wouldn't be able to be in it...
9. Sure, I'll be happy to help! I've provided a map of the first floor to make it easier to give directions, too. Level 3, Moonlit Grotto: The four crystals 1. When you enter the dungeon, bomb the cracked blocks in the north-eastern corner of the room, and go west to B6. You'll find two Pol's Voices; defeat them to earn the Dungeon Map. Now go to room D5 and break the crystal, then go to room E4 via the turnstile. 2. Onve you're in room E4, use a Bomb to break the cracked block that's where the fourth statue should be. Now toss a Bomb over the short green wall to your left, to break the second cracked block. Now go up to the top of the room and push the block that's above where the second cracked block was, down. This will allow you to throw a Bomb over the short wall below you, to break the cracked block that's diagonally down and left of the crystal. Now push the block that was below the cracked block that you just blew up. Break the crystal and push the block that's to the right of it, up. This clears the way for you to push the statue into place, on the other corner of the green floor tile. When you push the staue into place, a Small Key will drop from the ceiling. 3. Now, to navigate the turnstile to get to the next Small Key. To get to room D3, walk from room E4 to D4, D5, C5, C4, D4, D5, C5, C4, D4, and then finally D3. 4. Go east from room D3, to get to E4. Step on the switch in the north-east corner of the room, and the four Armos Knights will come alive. Defeat all of them for a Small Key. 5. Having gotten another Small Key, make your way back to room C4, and jump down the hole in the floor, to the basement. 6. (Note: I don't have a map for the basement, so I'm just going to have to give directions by saying "go south one room" and variations of that while in the basement). Go south one room and defeat the Mini Moldorm that's trapped behind a short wall to open the door to the room south of you. 7. Head south through the open door and defeat the two Pol's Voices (the Harp of Ages works really well) which will open up the door that's to the left of the one you entered through. Go north one room, through the left door, and defeat the Mini Moldorm again, this time using Bombs. This will open the door to the left of you, which leads south... back into the room you were just in. Go through the door and then walk one room to the west. 9. In this room, you'll see a conveyer belt, with a Crystal Switch part way down it on the side. Throw a Bomb over the short wall at the end of the conveyer belt so it explodes as it's passing by the Crystal Switch. You'll have to hold onto the Bomb for a bit before you throw it, to get it to explode at the right time. Now go over to the Armos Knight and wake it up. Defeat it with a Bomb and you'll get the Compass. 10. Now go up the stairs in the north-west corner of the room, to room B6. DON'T JUMP OFF THE LEDGE! Go west to room A6, and push the top three blocks out towards the walls, to make a Small Key appear. 8. Go back to room B6, and back down the stairs. Walk one room to the east, and two to the north. Go up the stairs to reach the third crystal in room C4. Push the block that's not lines up with the rest, to get out of the enclosed area where the crystal was. 11. Now to get the Seed Shooter... Which, unfortunatly, will require you to deal with the turnstile again. From room C4, go to room D4, D3, D2, C2, C3, C2, and then C1. Go west to room B1, and defeat all of the enemies there to get the Seed Shooter, which will shoot Seeds over great distances. 12. Head back to room D3, and use your new Seed Shooter to break the crystal there. Note that the Seed Shooter can fire diagonally, by holding in the button and turning with the + Control Pad. Seeds will also bounce off of walls for two bounces. Having broken all four crystals, the turnstile will drop down to the basement, allowing you to explore the rest of the dungeon. Yeesh, this took me a long time to type... Hope it helps. :)
10.
Originally posted by Solid Snake 4) If you really wanted to get specific, just compare Sonic's head (used to refer to his lives) from the one on the character choosing screen, to the one in the arena. There is defenitly a difference.
Ah, yes, I see it now... They look much different. This has convinced me that no, Sonic and Tails aren't in SSBM. Still going to have to get a score of 20 kills on Cruel Melee, though, just to prove it... Even though I don't really like the Multi-Man Melee modes... I live in northern California... I doubt that it has anything to do with being on the west/east coast, when it comes to when you get your magazine. My friend lives in the same city as I do, and he gets his issues of Nintendo Power about a week later than me. And besides, EGM is already a month ahead... It's a few days 'til March, and yet I have the April issue of EGM... And I'm still waiting for the March issue of Nintendo Power.
11. Drake: We've reached the edge of Ice Lake! Don't go in the water! Kizu: You don't need to tell me that! He eyes a nasty cut where a piranha almost sunk its teeth into his foot. Orion: We're caught between a rock and a hard place... Siren: Dragons on one side, piranhas on the other... Drake: Hey! look, there's a glacier out on the lake! Siren: We'd never make it out that far! Orion: Kizu! Don't you have Ice Arrows? Kizu: Yeah? Drake: Hey, yeah! Shoot one into the water, close to the shore! Kizu: What will that... Ah, I see! Kizu shoots an Ice Arrow into the water and it forms a small floating ice block, just large enough for them to stand on. Siren: Quick! Jump to the block before it melts! They jump to the block, causing it to bob up and down in the water. Drake: Woah! If anyone falls in, they're a goner! Orion: Quick, shoot another Ice Arrow! Kizu continues shooting Ice Arrows, forming more and more platforms for them to walk across until finally, they make it to the large glacier. Siren: But now where are we going to go!? Drake wasn't listening... He was staring behind them, at something. Siren: Drake? Drake: It's beautiful... They all turn around, and behind them is the great Ice Palace. Drake: The Tower of Ice... Orion: :therock: Doesn't look like a tower to me... Drake: It's a tower, this is just the top... The rest is below water and the base lies on the bottom of the lake. The Tower is carved from a glacier, that got so big that it reached the bottom of the lake and stuck there. And we're standing on the roof of one of it's chambers, probably... They stare at the entrance of the great Tower, the ice a pale blue-green from the reflection of the water. Kizu: So what are we going to do? We can't just stand out here and wait for the dragons to come... Orion: You're right, we can't... But where can we go? Unless you can get us to the other side? Kizu: No, I don't have enough Ice Arrows left... Drake: We're trapped... We should've tried going around... Siren: We aren't done for yet... Drake: Where are we supposed to go? Siren: Into the Tower... Drake:
12.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail :bellylol: Heh, did you draw that jcgoudy? Maybe we all should go and wrap all the Jigglypuffs in existence up with duct tape, and drown them....
No, I can't draw that good. I found it while looking at fan art on some Zelda site. I think that's supposed to be Princess Zelda holding the tape.
13. I just read in the latest issue of EGM, that it's not going to be jobs, but classes. It's going to be the same classes as the first Final Fantasy, except that the Black Belt is replaced by the Monk. And it also said that you can have a secondary class, so you can get a few abilities from another class as well. Classes that it listed: Fighter Monk Thief White Mage Black Mage Red Mage If this is true, I'm going to be a White Mage with my secondary class as a Thief. :)

OoA Help!!!

The Old Zora is in the past. From him, you get the Broken Sword. Take it to Patch and play his game to get the Lv. 2 Sword, which shoots beams when you have full Hearts. Very useful.
15.
Originally posted by James Other than that...I think we can look forward to seeing Sonic in Mario Kart on GameCube...I can't even imagine how cool that'll be, as I'm a HUGE Mario Kart fan. :)
You know what would be cool, if Sonic is in the next Mario Kart game? If, instead of driving a kart, he ran on foot!
16. I got that issue of EGM just today, too, and I also almost had a heart attack... I dunno... The screen shots that they have look like they're real. Especially the one where it's actually in game, fighting... I'll have to try this out, though.
17. If the monthly fee isn't to much, I'm going to get it for the PC (if my PC will be able to run it). If I do get it, I'm deffinatly going to be a white mage. White mages have been my favorite class since I played FFII on the Super NES (FFII being the second FF game that I played, FFVII being the first). It would also be cool if I could be a white mage and a summoner. Couldn't you kind of mix the different abilities in FFV?
18.
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! That's it exactly, Sephiroth. DEATH TO ALL PINK FLUFFY THINGS THAT SING
You might like this, then:
19. I think the thing I enjoy most is playing video games with my friends... And totally stomping on them. Especially in Super Smash Bros. and SSB Melee. Other than that, I like reading, writing (when I'm in the mood, and it's about something that I like)... There are other things, but I can't think of them at the moment... It's getting really late... Hey! that's another thing I like! Staying up late and listening to the rain, especially if I have some coffee or tea and a book.
20. Yes, Legolas from the Lord of the Rings movie that came out in December. Right now, I actually get to read The Lord of the Rings for school! :) Btw, Legolas is supposed to have black hair, not blonde like in the movie.
21.
Originally posted by Angelus_Necare well.....I spell faerie the way I spell faerie. Down with the political corections! :D
You misspelled "corrections" Lol... :D I prefer to spell it "fairy" but when I'm talking about A Link to the Past, I'll still spell it "faerie". Like on my website that I'm making, I had forgotten to spell it "faerie" on the A Link to the Past section, so I had to go back through and change it for every time I used it...
22. Okay, go to the beach two screen to the east of the graveyard, and there'll be a torch. Light the torch with an Ember Seed and a bridge will extend to an island. Walk out onto the island and use a Mystery Seed on the question mark block, and a monster will appear. Defeat the monster to get the jewel.
23. Personally, I don't think that Link and Zelda are related at all... Mainly because in Ocarina of Time, it says that Link's parents brought him to Kokiri Forest to keep him safe. If Link's parents were the King and Queen of Hyrule, wouldn't they have also left Zelda in the Kokiri Forest, along with Link? And I'm pretty sure it also says that Link's parents died... In that case, Link and Zelda couldn't be brother and sister, because if they were, then the King of Hyrule would be dead... And Link would be the King... On the other hand, there is this from A Link to the Past:
24. No, neither of the GBA games are remakes; they're both original games. I haven't heard anything about Konami releasing any remakes of past Castlevania games, either. I've also heard that Circle of the Moon is a really great game. The reason Konami was surprised that Circle of the Moon did so well, was because they pretty much just whipped it out; they didn't spend all that much time on it. They just wanted to release a Castlevania game for the GBA, and they weren't expecting it to do as well as it did... It's not like they were expecting it to be a total flop, or anything, but they weren't expecting it to be this popular, either.
25. I dunno... I never really got into the Tony Hawk games... I've played the first two, and they were fun, but not for all that long. They just got old pretty quickly. Seems like you just do the same tricks over, and over again. Some of the objectives in THPS2 are kind of fun, but I wouldn't buy any of the games. I did happen to acquire Tony Hawk's Pro Sketer 2 for the GBC. Haven't played it yet, though. I'll probably end up selling it.
