2. I found out this cool trick to get the Jet Vermillion on F-Zero: Maximum Velocity: First, go here (a page from the Japanese Nintendo website) and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Now enter the name of your game file, using the keypad. Click on the right button that's below the keypad, and it will bring you to a page with a password in big white characters. Start your game and go into Grand Prix, and on the player select screen, press L, R, Start, R, L, Select. This will bring up a password screen. Enter the password that you got from the website, and it will take you back to the player select screen. The Jet Vermillion will now be available!
3.
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! I just think it's another attept for the Pokémon craze to get a fresh jumpstart... Real or not, I don't think it's worth such a fuss...
Yeah, I don't think I'd like it, if it is true... Unless I could get that Zapdos/Ho-oh combo... The idea of merging doesn't sound very good to me. I think they should just keep the breeding and not make it any more complicated than that. You know what I'd like to see? A 3D Pokémon game for the GCN, that's online! You could start out in one of the cities of Kanto or Johto and travel around the world, collecting badges and so on... But instead of just interacting with CPU players, you could actually talk and battle with real players! The battles could be like they are in Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2. They could call it... PokémOnline! :cross: I've had this idea ever since I played Pokémon Stadium... *hopes that the GCN Pokémon game will be like this*
4. No no no, that's not what I meant... What I meant was, has anyone ever made it through the swamp, on foot, without fighting the Midgar Zolom? And without cheating, by saving and resetting it.
5. Yes, the NES was the first console made by Nintendo. Before that, they made arcade games and the Game & Watch series (handheld units, each with a different game). Here's a .zip file with the history of Nintendo from 1889 to 2001, and pictures of two Game & Watch units and a Mario Bros. arcade game:

Mirror Link

Bah. You don't need to use your shield at all. If you have the Biggoron's Sword, that is... If you have the Biggoron's Sword, equip it. Don't worry about not being able to block Dark Link's attacks, because he'll only get one or two off. What you do is, Z Target him, and then just keep stabbing at him (Z+B+Up, or just B+Up while Z Targeting). If you just keep stabbing, he'll keep his shield raised, and he won't be able to attack. But, every now and then, one of your stabs will slip beneath his shield and hit him. This is a VERY cheap way to beat him, though... If you don't have the Biggoron's Sword, Z Target him and keep your shield raised at all times, except when you attack. DO NOT USE THE JUMP ATTACK! If you do, he'll dodge it and counter with a Jump Attack of his own... This hurts... a LOT... Dodge around a lot, jumping left, right, and backflipping away from him. If you can get on the side or behind him, take a swing and maybe you'll get in a hit. Stabbing him is also effective with the Master Sword, because it's quick and doesn't leave you open for long. You can also shoot arrows at him from a distance and hope that a few slip through his guard, but it's hard to hit with them. You can also try using Din's Fire when you're up close. You'll definitely want a couple Fairies, too. This will give you an edge, because Dark Link has the same number of Heart Containers as you. If you have a Fairy, then you actually have quite a few more than him. Hope this helps, and good luck! Dark Link is actually my favorite fight in the whole game! :)
7. Rapps? That thing was easy. Just use Barret's Mind Blow Limit Break (Level 1) on it and then, like Sephiroth said, use items that cast level 2/3 spells on it. Has anybody ever made it through the swamp, past the Midgar Zolom, on foot? My brother did one time, because he didn't have enough Gil to buy the Chocobo Lure Materia when he got to the Chocobo Ranch.

Mario Golf
Originally posted by kuja does anyone remember the ORIGNIAL mario tennis on VB? lol that game was a lot better than the one for GBC or N64 ;) thou less secrets ;)
I've heard of it, but I've never been able to play it. I think that if I could find a Virtual Boy for a reasonable price, I'd buy it. Then I'd be able to tell if it's as bad as some people say it is, about it hurting your eyes.
9. I don't really feel like writing anything up right now, so I'll just give you the section of the walkthrough from www.zelda.com that tells how to get through Level 7, Eagle's Tower. Hope it helps. :)
10.
Originally posted by leo_swinkels I can also still hope for the good-looking game.
Yes, we can all hope. I think that if Miyamoto keeps the cel shaded look, Link should look like he did in the artwork for A Link to the Past. I've always wanted a Zelda game to look like the art that's drawn for it. Artwork of Link, from A Link to the Past:
11. Actually, I don't really see a reason why you wouldn't be able to merge Legendary Pokémon... When you're breeding them, it's so you can get another one of the Pokémon that you're breeding... But with merging, you start with two and end up with one... You'd be losing a Pokémon, so merging is kind of the opposite of breeding. I'm pretty sure that the reason for not being able to breed Legendary Pokémon is because the people who made the game didn't want people to breed their Mewtwo and get a team of six of them... Or get a bunch of other Legendary Pokémon. The Legendary Birds and Mewtwo (not sure about Raikou, Entei, and Suicune) are supposed to be one-of-a-kind Pokémon, after all.
12. I dunno... I'm having a hard time believing that Mario Sunshine is centered around pasta... It would be a new spin on the Mario series, though... As long as they keep the Wall Kick and put in some cool places to use it, like the Red Coin maze in Rainbow Ride. I'm going to buy it, just because it's a Mario game, and there hasn't been a Mario game that I haven't liked... Even if the view in Super Mario 64 was kind of bad sometimes... *bangs head on computer desk* Three more days 'til I get Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2!!! Maybe it'll tide me over until Mario Sunshine is released... I wonder if I'll play through it another five times?

Mario Golf

One of my friends owns Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64, and I've played it. It was fun, especially playing the miniture golf courses with four people and hitting the ball as hard as we could... Regardless of how far away the hole was. :p I also rented Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, and I was considering buying it, for awhile. But there were other games that I wanted more, at the time... But it was a lot of fun, especially with four human players! I like standing up close to the net and hitting the ball into people's faces! :blackeye: :D
14.
Originally posted by NorykoAngelcry I will be in line waiting for the game. I have ALWAYS been a fan of Zelda ever since picking it up for the first time. I have played every game that has come out in America and will continue to do so. Nintendo fanboy? Sure. . whatever you want to call me. I love Zelda series, and Link is my boy! (If you couldn't tell by my avatar. Can't wait till 500 posts though. . got a nice one I am working on ^_^ Anyways, kiddie graphics or not, this game looks sweet. I will get it, and I know that I will hook my friends on it, just like I did with my Nintendo64 version of the game =) Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the all time greatest (sorry . . had to say it). . *runs away* =P
That's exactly like me! I don't care what it looks like, or if people lable me a fanboy for buying it. Ever since I started playing Zelda games, I've been hooked, and I'm not about to stop playing them just because of graphics... Hopefully I'll be able to change my brother's mind about it, too. He says that if I buy it, he's going to use the disc as a frisbee... I love A Link to the Past too! The best game ever made!!!
15. Maybe it is an air tank, and maybe it isn't... At this point, everything is just speculation. We don't KNOW anything for certain about what that thing is, that's strapped to Mario's Back. We could all be totally wrong, and it's something completly different than any of us thought...
16. If you play a linked Ages game, you hear about a secret cave in Seasons, that's in the graveyard. In the cave, you get a Heart Container and a secret for getting the Heart Container in Ages, too... Was that why you already had 14 Hearts?
17. Yeah, I know, if it is true you probably won't be able to merge Legendary Pokémon... But I REALLY want a Lightning/Fire type Legendary Bird!!! Ever since I got Zapdos and Moltres, I'd wanted a combo of thoses two. And then Gold/Silver came out, and I got Ho-oh... Now I want a combo of Zapdos and Ho-oh... I'd trade my Mewtwo for a Lightning/Fire type Legendary Bird... (That could learn the moves that I mention in my last post).
18. Sounds like it's going to be a really cool game! I think it's cool that they brought back the Job System! If I get it, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a White Mage. It was a Black Belt that you could choose in the first Final Fantasy, not a Monk, though.
19. Here's a map with the locations of all the Chocograph, dive spot, and mountain crack locations:
20.
Originally posted by The Elite DBZ Yeah only a few people stay and actually post here, which is quite sad. In answer to the other questions, if you look at the top of the main otakuboards page, it says "welcome to our newest member:......" If you just highlight the link and look at the bottom of your browser it says at the end of the url: userid=2000 (or whatever number member the new member is....
Are members that have been banned, counted in the number on the home page? If they're not, maybe that's why it only says 1,982...
21. You start with 3 Heart Containers, you get 8 from dungeon bosses, and 3 from Heart Container Pieces, plus 1 extra in a linked game... That's a total of 15 Heart Containers. If you started with a linked game, and have beaten all the bosses, that'd be 12 Heart Containers. That would mean that you only got 2 out of 3 Heart Containers from the Pieces, if you only have 14... And if you just went and got that one with the vines around it, that'd mean there are still three more Pieces to find. If you want, I can tell you where the other three Pieces are... But I'm guessing you'll want to find them yourself.
22. To get that Heart Container Piece, change it to Spring (so that the vines won't be around it) using the tree stump just south of Level 3, Poison Moth's Lair. Now, swimming down to it can be tricky. You have to get in the right currents in the water, to get to it.
23.
Originally posted by Cruizr i just remembered something i had read...the glitch in the first games (r/b/y) was acctually a merged pokemon called "Worgeot"...it was a Worturtle and Pigeot marged...(attacks: water gun, sky attack) this will be very interesting to see
You mean missingno? How could there be a merged Pokémon, way back in Red/Blue? (missingno isn't in Yellow, btw). Personally, I don't think this is real at all... Although I would LOVE to have a Zapdos/Ho-oh combination that could learn Thunder, Fireblast, Drill Peck, and Recover!
24.
Originally posted by kizu So I will have to wait for a long time before it comes out. If it isn't comming out till summer in japan then when is it scheduled to come out in the states?
Right now, it's scheduled for a Fall 2002 release in the US, same as Zelda. Hopefully, it won't need to be delayed.
25.
Originally posted by Majora's Mask Man, you people! You act like it's a big deal! So what? It's not like you had to go out and write your own....whats the point? If you don't like it, fine! don't use it! Besides, theres no point in bitching about it...I'm pulling that info off the site, so i can rewrite it................Except for the mask guide...thats really long...
It's not a big deal, I'm justing pointing out what's wrong with it. And I wrote my own, because that's what I do. I'll be putting it on my website, when I make the Majora's Mask section. I already have strategies that I wrote for all the A Link to the Past bosses.
