Originally posted by amiboshi I read on a Zelda site, today, that Shigeru Miyamoto has been asked to re-think his cel-shaded grpahics, because of marketing and such. It says we may still see real-looking graphics *crosses fingers* God, I hope so.......
I dunno... I don't really care that much about what it looks like... I would like them to change Link's face, but that's pretty much it. Btw, is it clear to everyone that the "original" movie from Space World 2000 (the one of Link fighting Ganondorf) wasn't from an actual game? Because it's not. The Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and all of those trailers that they showed weren't from an actual game. They were just quick mock-ups to show off what the GameCube could do, graphically. (Yes, I know, Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime, and Zelda were probobly all actually in development at that time, but it said that they weren't from actual games on the Space World website). So really, the GCN Zelda hasn't changed, the Space World 2001 movie (the cel shaded one) is the first real look that we've gotten of the GCN Zelda.
Originally posted by amiboshi See! Even on that, it says "One hit to stun, second for damage"(Link). That doesn't work. It just keeps stunning him, then. :therock: Of course, being the stupid person I am, I'm probably just misunderstanding it.:cross:
Here's what it says: "To harm him, you have to use double attacks. To stun him, hit him once, next score another hit to harm him. As Zora Link, you have to jump into the tank, and hit him with the Barrier Attack, A while swimming." It does say that the second hit will hurt it, but it also says that you have to use the Zora Barrier... Cunfusing... Of course, it doesn't actually say what to hit it with for those first two hits, either... I do know that just arrows won't hurt it, though, and I don't think anything beside the Zora Barrier will.
Originally posted by Deus_Ex_Machina I think I put on the Zora mask and used them boomerang type fins the zora has. that works too, but not from too far away.
Yeah, and the Hookshot would probobly work too... It'd be hard to hit with, though, since it's so slow.

Mmmmmmmm... Crispy Behemoth... :tasty: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Siren: Okay... So maybe I was wrong... Drake: Just maybe... Orion: BIG DRAGON!!! HEADING THIS WAY!!! FAST!!! Drake rumages in his pack, pulling out the small vile of Dragonsbane juice. Drake: Here, clean that knife off and dip the tip of it in that. Then aim for the throat. That should do a lot a damage...

I think it's starting to wear off a bit... But this post doesn't seem to have much in it... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Sure! Rabbit sounds good... They hear a faint yelp in the distance. Drake: Are you sure we shouldn't go help... Siren: He can handle it... Drake: .......... Siren: Really, I'm sure he can... Drake: :D Siren: What? Drake: :D Siren: What?! Drake: :D Siren: Why the heck are you staring at my like that!? Drake throws a knife past Siren and hits a rabbit in the underbrush. Drake: I wasn't staring at you... Siren goes and picks up the rabbit. Siren: I see... Nice throw. Drake: Lunch is served. :smirk:

Yep! It's currently scheduled for release in Fall 2002. In the US, at least... I hope there aren't a whole bunch of delays, like with Ocarina of Time... But if that's what it takes to make the game the best it can be, I'm willing to wait.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you getting a sword (unless it's just one that hangs on a wall, that you can't actually use). I myself collect knives. I carry over three knives on me at all times (not going to tell you exactly how many). :D Here's a picture of an axe that I own:
Originally posted by Cloud I think he mneans like the super deforemed ones like FFI-VI. IF you had a life sized t.v fix's characters would look almost real...
But FFI-VI characters are 2D sprites... Here's how I group the different catagories of characters types: 2D Sprites: I, (we didn't get II or III in the US) IV, V, VI (these games are on either the NES or Super NES, so they have to be 2D Sprites. And yes, FFV was released on the PSX in the US, but it was originally released on the Super FamiCom, the Japanese Super NES). Deformed: VII, IX Realistic: VIII, X
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Well I wasn't that sure if it was a mask or not..... It could've been either I suppose.....
Yeah, I was a bit confused about that too. I wasn't sure if the Ganondorf face was the mask, or if the skull thing was the mask... You don't tend to notice things like that when you're fighting a boss, I guess.

The reason it's called The Legend of Zelda and not the legend of Link, is because it's the Zelda series. And it's the Zelda series because in the first one, Zelda was really a lot more important than in the others. Link was just some person that Impa found to try and rescue Zelda. (There wasn't much storyline for the first Zelda. Keyword wasn't. There's a lot more now, about all of the games). So, they called each one after it The Legend of Zelda (besides Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, but that still has Zelda in the name).
Originally posted by amiboshi I'm really not sure if I'm in or out. When I first saw the new graphics, I refused to believe it. Then I saw more of it on a GC Zelda site....and I still refused to believe it. Now, allthough I pretty much know that's what they're gonna look like, I'm still not wanting to believe it, but I guess I'm just in denial.:p I really hate the new graphics. They're so ugly. It looks like they downgraded the game. I'll probably buy the game anyways when it comes out, just because it's Zelda, but I think the new version just sucks. The graphics aren't taking any advantages of GC. How stupid.........:flaming:
Any movies or screen shots that you see of the GCN Zelda aren't going to look good, because they were taken from watching the screen that the actual movie was playing on. Infact, Shigeru Miyamoto asked that no one take movies or screen shots at all. According to Miyamoto himself, (in an interview from some gaming magazine or other, can't remember which one) the graphics are indeed taking advantage of the GCN's capabilities. The graphics are just a different style. It might also please some people to hear that I've heard a rumor that the graphics are going to be changed. Not entirely, but changed. This is just a rumor, though...

The way I did it, was, I got a bottle of Chateau Romani and drank it, so I had unlimited magic. When I fought Gyorg, I put on the Zora Mask and jumped in the water. I swam around, trying to avoid getting eaten and using the Zora Barrier against the side of Gyorg. I had about 15 Hearts, and I only lost about half my life and I didn't have to use any Potions or Fairies. That's the quickest way to beat it, and also the easiest, I think. The other way to beat it, is to shoot arrows at it until you stun it, and then put on the Zora Mask, jump in the water, and use the Zora Barrier against it. When it's not stunned anymore, climb back up onto the platform and repeat, until it dies. You can tell that it's almost dead when it starts spitting little fish out of it's mouth. Either way you do it, I highy recommend getting a bottle of Chateau Romani before going into the fight, and having at least one Fairy on hand (you can get one from one of the pots, next to the owl statue, behind Zora Hall).

Okay, yes, all spiders bite... But is they're not in the way or anything, I just leave them alone... And aphids, yeah, you want to get rid of them... Did you know that daddy long legs (the ones with the tiny bodies and really long legs) are more venomous than a Black Widow? But their fangs are so small that it's impossible for them to bite a human. :whoops:
Originally posted by Gohan The next super smash, if there is one, will not hav sonic in it.
Actually, the next Super Smash Bros. (if there is another SSB game) may actually have Sonic in it. In an old Nintendo Power from a couple months ago, there was a short interview with Yuji Naka (the head of Sonic Team, the offshoot of Sega that makes the Sonic games) and he said that he and Shigeru Miyamoto were actually thinking about making a game together. He also said that Sonic might be in the next Super Smash Bros., if there is another one.

I think Ruby WEAPON was the hardest fight in the game. It'd use Ultima on me whenever I used KOTR... At first, I used KOTR/W Summon and it interrupted my W Summon! It actually did Ultima on my in between the two KOTR! And then again, after the second KOTR! After that, I didn't use KOTR anymore; mainly Bahamut ZERO/Quad Magic.

Oh, you mean Ramrock, the boss of Level 8... Okay... First, use your sword against his hands. Then, when his hands are spikey, put Bombs between them. When they're shields, use the Seed Shooter to hit the top of his head. When it thows it's hands at you, grab one with the Power Gloves and pull it back. Release it to hit Ramrock.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Yeah, his that Phantom Ganon guy..... That's who I thought was Link..... :D
Ah... Okay, but it's not wearing a mask. That's just it's face... When it's wearing a mask (before the fight begins) it's a mask that looks like Ganondorf's face. A funny thing about Phantom Ganon... Phantom Ganon was created before Ganondorf turned into Ganon... So, shouldn't it be called Phantom Ganondorf?
Originally posted by Jamvis thats a shame... question... um is burning bugs for fun a bad thing?
I'd say it depends on the type of bug... If it's harmful to plants, animals, etc. (such as a grasshopper) I'd say no. If it's a ladybug or something like that, that's beneficial, I'd say yes. Or, if it's venomous/poisonous and it's in your house, I'd say no. I actually let let the spider webs collect in my room, as long as there are no venomous spiders in them. It helps get rid of flies and other annoying insects.
