Yes, I too am going to get it no matter what. I don't know about other people, but I don't care that much about the graphics. I don't really like them, but I don't really dislike them. It's the gameplay that I care about and so far, I've enjoyed every Zelda game I've played.

Drake: Hey! Can I go too? it's boring around here. Kuja: I suppose, if it'll get you out of here... Drake: What's that supposed to mean!? Kuja: (thinking) I really like it when he sleeps late... Drake: Whatever... Justin: Are you sure you're going to let him come with me? Drake: What's all this about, anyway?! Kuja: That... accident... last week... Drake: That? That wasn't anything serious. Kuja: You went outside and yelled rude jokes about the mods! Drake: I got away, didn't I? Kuja: Barely... Drake: So? I did get away, even if it was close. Kuja: *sigh* ...You know, there the most arrogant person I've ever met... Drake: Right. So when do we leave?
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! Alright I got through Lv 6 once I knew what I was doing, the boss was easy as hell. THEN I got the Ocarina. So I'm probably way behind on things to do with it. Can I get some help on where to use it? And what's with that blue hippo in Animal Village?!?!?
Okay, you learn three songs on the Ocarina. The first one you learn is from Marin. The second one you learn is from Manbo, who's located in a cave just to the west of Level 4, Angler's Tunnel in a cave with a picture of a fish carved into the cliff beside it. The last one you learn is from Mamu, who's located in the Signpost Maze. As to where you use it, you can use it all sorts of places. And there's nothing special about the blue hippo in Animal Village.

He looks around his room and realizes where he is. Drake: *pant, pant* My dreams are getting way to realistic... He gets out of bed and gets dressed. Strapping on the Master Sword and Mirror Shield, he walks out of his room and down the stairs. Drake: Good morning! kuja: Late as always, I see. It's hardly morning. Drake looks at his watch. Drake: Ohhh... yeah...

OOC: NNNOOOO!!!!! You can't leave! I need someone to bounce my humor off of, and the others just won't work! (Well, maybe Orion). Okay, whatever. I'm just glad you kept posting here. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: I hope he didn't take my attempt to break him too seriously... Siren: Huh? She notices that Drake is now limping along, from the weight of the sack. Orion: If you're a treasure hunter, shouldn't you be used to carrying heavy packs and whatnot? Drake: There are two reasons... He holds up three fingers. Drake: ...why this is making me so tired..... :therock: He lowers one finger. Drake: Two reasons..... One, Both me and you were together, so we ended up getting twice as much as I would normally take by myself. Two,-- Siren: You refuse to let anyone else carry the sack because you're too stubborn, proud and paranoid? Drake: .......... Bingo... :cross:
Originally posted by BabyGirl Lucky you, playing DX! Hehe, I had to beat Link's Awakening...without the helpful tunics ;D It was hard :shifty:
Yes, I was quite lucky. If I had the original game, I probobly would have just kept trying and trying, until I thought to try jumping over the arms. 20-30 1st party GCN games... Can't wait... Must... have... NOW! One 1st party GCN game that I'm looking forward to learning about is 128 Marios. What could that title possibly mean? I'm thinking that maybe it's a puzzle game... Oooo! I really hope Miyamoto changes the look of the new Zelda game. I think the cel shading is fine, but geez! Does Link have to look like that!? Drools some more, thinking about the new Zelda game  Good information about the GCN! and Rico, don't you mean ctrl+c and ctrl+v?

Drake speeds of towards the small rebel base. Drake: (thinking) I hope there's someone there... Drake reaches the base, and finds the door open. Drake: (thinking) Huh? What's going on here? He locks up his bike and walks in the door. Drake: (thinking) This place is deserted... When did that happen? Drake: Hello? Anybody here? Voice: Yes... Drake: Who are you? Show yourself. Drake unsheaths the Master Sword and takes the Mirror Shield off his back. Voice: I could ask you the same question... Drake: What happened here? A figure steps out of the darkness...

OOC: Ummm... kizu? We're not in the Ruins anymore. We're out in the Swamp, away from the Ruins. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Well that's good. I wouldn't want to have to kill you with your own knife. Drake tosses Sean's knife back to him, and Sean catches it expertly by the handle. Sean: What the $%? Sean looks down at his empty hand. Drake: :smirk: Am I good, or what? Sean: You better not try anything like that again... Drake: What, like this? He tosses Sean his Rupee pouch. Sean: Okay, that's it... Orion: Hey now, you two settle down. And Drake, he was right when he said you shouldn't do that again... Okay? :demon: Drake: Whatever... :naughty: Orion: *sigh* .......... Matt: Anyway, What happened to that temple? Kizu: Yeah, we almost got killed. Siren: It sunk. Drake: What do you mean, it sunk? Like, right into the ground? Siren: Yes! It sunk! Drake: Well that's odd... All: :therock: Drake: What? Siren: Nothing... Matt: Like I said before... We should get back and make camp... Drake: Right! Yes! Off we go then! But it never works...
Where in the game are you? Has Mideel been destroyed yet? Is that what you mean by "After I get back from the lifestream"? PM me with more details about where you are and what you just did in the game, and I'll be happy to help.
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy Yeah, but keep in mind that the 128 bit Sega Dreamcast is less than a hundred dollars now. Heh, for that matter the PSX even compares in price to the GBA. Super Nintendo is even cheaper, and that's essentially what a GBA is, just slightly more beefed up.
Actually, the GBA is quite a bit more powerful than a SNES. And even if a SNES was still $100, it would still be worth it! Right now, the SNES has a LOT more good games then the GBA. Also, the thing is, all those consoles you mentioned are old and the price has dropped a lot on them. ESPECIALLY the PSX. Even so, the GBA is portable, so you can't really compare it to the prices of consoles.

Yeah, sometimes I'll just go through my old issues, just reading the letters. And it takes me awhile, since I probobly have about 75 issues. More than half of those were given to me by my brother when he moved out. The latest issue that he gave me is volume 60. One thing I really wish they'd bring back, is the old Power Charts. Sure, the new ones are interesting, but I want to know which games are the most popular! I think they should have an entire page devoted to the Power Charts, (that's seperate from Player's Pulse) and have both the old and the new. They should have four pages for letters, one page for Envolope Art and one page for the Power Charts.
Originally posted by BabyGirl Haha, that part was rather challenging...though I don't remember exactly how I figured it out. I think I just started killing them in a different order to see if it worked...and it did! :wigout: I'd say the hardest part for me is the final nightmare in the Wind Fish's egg...dang! Everything is all good and dandy until he turns into those huge swinging spike arm things...that is really hard. It bothered me because I'd always die when he turned into that...and that is his last transformation :cross:
Yes, that's exactly how I did it. I just started killing them in different orders. Now, if it had been the Keese that you kill first or last, I would have gotten it right away because I knew what a Keese was from playing Orarina of Time (the first Zelda game I beat). And I also had lots of trouble with Dethl (the final form of the end boss). It would have helped if I had thought to try jumping over the arms, but I didn't. It helped that I had quite a bit more life, fighting Dethl the 2nd and 3rd time, because I knew how to beat the other forms. It's funny. I have the DX version, and I beat it with the Blue Tunic (double deffense) and I barely beat it. My brother had about the same ammount of life left when he beat it, but he had the Red Tunic (double offense). For me, the fight lasted about twice as long, even though we both hit Dethl and got hit by it at about the same rate. Guess i should have picked the Red Tunic (which I did switched to, after I beat it).

Yes, I used graph paper for all of them, actually. You just can't see the lines on some of them. The reason I drew them on graph paper was because it was easier to get the proportions right. Guess I didn't think of using a ruler. :cross: And... a woman's bosom? Oooookayyy... I had never thought it looked like that before, but now that I look at it again, it does sort of look like that. Weird... And for the Hookshot, I actually ran out of room on the paper when I was drawing it. That's why I don't have a line all the way around it, like the others. If I hadn't ran out of room, the blue part next to the tip would have been a bit longer and the hook itself would be pointier. Oh well, it still looks pretty good as it is.

Today, while browsing through my Game Archive directory (2.88 Gigs of game information) I remembered that I had some art that I had drawn years and years ago. Well, I dug it out of my closet and had my brother scan it, so here it is. what do you think? Edit: Okay, I finally got around to putting all my pictures into one, and compressing them. I've attached the new picture, and I'm deleting the other post.

Yes, Zelda Link's Awakening is the first game in the series for GB/GBC. If it's a black cartridge, it's the DX version, which has an extra dungeon that can only be accessed on GBC. (Possibly GBA. I haven't checked). At the end of the extra dungeon, you can get the Red or Blue Tunic that doubles your offensive power or doubles you deffensive power, respectively. I remember playing through Link's Awakening for the first time... It was awsome! After I beat it, I played through it again, right away! The hardesr part (besides the end boss) has got to be Level 2, Bottle Grotto. Dang Nightmare Key... I had no clue what "Pol's Voice first, Stalfos last" meant, because I had no idea what a Pol's Voice or Stalfos was...

I gotta get in on this RPG... Name: Drake Age: 16 Status: Member Weapons: The Master Sword (can shoot energy beams in the shape of the sword) and the Mirror Shield (the BIG mirror Shield from Zelda 3, that covers your entire body when held in front of yourself. It can deflect almost anything, energy or physical). Pet: My motercycle, which I call Anubis. (The name is from Zelda Ocarina of Time. If you know what an Anubis is, you get a cookie). If we're still from a peticular forum, I'm from the Zelda forum. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake was in his hideout in the Zelda forum, working on his bike, when he felt a small rumble. Drake: (thinking) That can't be good... He's just finishing up working on his bike, when he feels another rumble, only stronger. Drake: (thinking) That's gotta be even worse... He straps the Mirror Shield on his back, over the Master Sword. Drake: (thinking) I think it's about time I got out of here... There's another, stronger rumble. Drake: (thinking) Yep. He jumps on his bike and rides down the underground passage, leading to the edge of the Zelda forum. Drake: Dang, I love you, Anubis... He emerges from the tunnel, and stops. He looks back at his hideout through a pair of binoculars... Drake: %&*#..... He sees a crater where hideout used to be, and a lone figure walking away from it. Drake: (thinking) Damn. Looks like I was just in time. He rides off towards the Nintendo Forum, as fast as his bike will go.

OOC: Yes, it would be nicce if people started posting here again. THIS RPG CAN'T DIE! IT'S THE ONLY ONE I HAVE LEFT!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Uggghhhh..... Only a little farther... I can do this... Only a little farther..... Drake shifts the sack of treasure to his other shoulder. Matt: You could let me carry it... :naughty: Drake: :therock: I would, except for that grin on your face... They continue on... and on... Orion: Hey! What was that?! Drake: Urgh... What was what? Orion: I heard something... Andry: Something dangerous? Orion: Something moving very fast... In this direction. Drake: Ahh, crap. He drops the sack and pulls out a trowing knife. Orion: It's almost here... Just then, something burts out of the bushes running and barely dodges Drake's knife, which sticks into a tree an inch beside it's head. All: Siren? Drake: You're lucky I'm tired... Siren looks at the knife sticking in the tree next to her. Siren: :therock: Drake: Okay, I'm sorry... Siren: What happened to you guys?! Matt: We can talk on the way back. It's almost sunset. Drake: Urrrgghhhhh..... Drake walks over and pulls the knife out of the tree. He puts it away, and then picks up the sack again. Siren: Want me to carry that for awhile? Drake: Sorry, Matt already tried that one. :smirk: Siren: Heheheh... :smirk:

The original Game Boy was released for around $170.

LOL! I remember that letter! That one had me laughing for a good couple of minutes! The envelope art is sometimes funny too. Back in the January 2000 issue, there was one of Link without his shirt on. Off to the right, there was Misty "swooning" and Bomberman complaining that Link never leaves the rest of the male characters anything. That has to be the funniest envelope art I've seen! LOL!
Originally posted by ShadowGohan Yeah... I opened the safe... I know the combination... the boss (Lost Number) Is what's bugging me!
A good way to beat Lost Number, (it'll be even easier, since you're using Aeris) is to set Aeris's Limit Break to Level 1, and get her so she can use it. Also, equip the Choco-Mog summon Materia. Go into the fight and immediatly use Aeris's Seal Evil Limit Break and Choco-Mog, which will usually paralize it. After that, beat on it with your most powerful attacks/spells/summons while it can't do anything. When I fought it this way, it didn't even get to transform into one of it's two halves before it died.
Originally posted by VP-Master That's pretty tuf to get the extra tracks. Figures though, they shouldn't make it too easy to get the tracks otherwise every1 will beat the game quickly. O man, I should have gotten my cousin to get the extra courses when I was at his house during the holidays. O well, I guess I'll attempt to get all those courses.
What I did, was I played through all the tracks on all the engine classes, and then tried to get the Extra Tracks. By that time, I was good enough that it wasn't that hard. (Either that, or I'm just really good ;)). I got all the Extra Tracks on my first try, except for the Star and Special Cups (and maybe the Lightning Cup) where I did it on my second try. Also, you might try practicing specific races that give you trouble on the Quick Run mode. That helped me a lot, because then I knew the best ways to get the Coins on the tracks.
