1. Drake walks into Zora's Domain. Drake: (thinking) I'm too late..... He looks around at all the bodies. Drake: (thinking) The king! He runs to Jabu Jabu's shrine, and sees the king's and Princess Ruto's corpse. Drake: No... He looks around and sees some people standing by the entrance to the Great Fairy's Fountain. Drake: (thinking) So others came too... He walks around the edge of the pool and approaches the people. Drake: I am Drake. If you are of Devil Ganon's army, prepare to fight! If you are friends, you have nothing to fear from me. Craig: Huh? Akira: Um....he can see us! Devil Ganon: You will all die now! Drake: That voice.....
2.
Originally posted by kizu Well I owuld have to say the game boy was the worst. Just because the shape of and the size. It is just so..... clunky
One could argue that the Game Boy isn't really that much different than an NES controller. When you're holding them, they both feel about the same. The Game Boy is a little thicker and heavier, but not that much. But, I'm not going to argue with you, because I probably won't change you mind if I haven't already.
3. Well... In some ways, the Zelda games are RPGs... And in some ways they're not... In the Zelda series, you build up you character by getting Heart Containers, magic upgrades and stuff like that. You find weapons, armor and items. In most of them, there are towns where you can go and interact with the people in them. Although not the type of RPG that you usually see on consoles, the Zelda series can be considered RPGs. But, on the other hand, the Zelda games are unlike RPGs in that fights take place in real time and you don't use menu driven combat. You don't gain exp. points or go up levels (with the exception of Zelda II), Life, magic, damage and whatnot aren't expressed in numbers. Instead, you have a life and magic meter, and enemies just take a certain number of hits before they die. So really, it depends on how you look at the games. I myself, consider the Zelda games to be action oriented RPGs.
4. The reason why I wouldn't want it to be live action, is because it wouldn't look like a video game. And if it doesn't look like a game, it's not going to look much like Zelda because Zelda is... games. I don't know... I don't think they could get the costume for Link to look right. They probably wouldn't make his tunic long enough.....
5. Only with the first run of games? Are you sure? My brother's cartridge was one of the gold ones. So is mine. I always hold in Reset just incase though. I really don't want to have my game erased. I just beat Level 6 in the 2nd Quest today. I had to leave about half way through the dungeon (when I got the Step Ladder) to go get a Heart Container, so I could get the Magic Sword. After that, it got a lot easier. ******* blue Wizrobes!!! They take five ******* hits with the White Sword!!! Only three with the Magic Sword, though. And the ******** Red Bubbles!!! AAAGGGHHHHH!!!!! Okay, I'd better stop ranting now.....
6. I'd grab the box that has my NES/SNES and games inside. Then I'd grab my GBA/GBC and games, and put them in the box. Then I'd put in my N64 games. Then the first issue of Nintendo Power magazine. Then my PS1 Memory Card. And finally, I'd put in my bag of receipts from various purchases along with my money, which I keep next to the bag of receipts. If I could get it out of my computer case, I'd grab my hard drive, but I don't think I could get it out quick enough.
7. A couple of days ago, I got out my old NES and my The Legend of Zelda cartridge, and popped it in. Amazingly, there was still a saved game on it! Although I ended up erasing it and starting over from the beggining, I thought it was neat that an old NES cartridge's battery would last longer than a SNES cartridge's battery. I have an old Super Mario World SNES cartridge, and it won't save anymore... But my Legend of Zelda cartridge, that's a few years older, will! Has anyone else had this happen? And has anyone had problems with their saved games on The Legend of Zelda, because you didn't hold in the Reset button while you turned the NES off? My brothers got The Legend of Zelda way back around when it was first released, and they never held in the Reset button when they turned it off. They never had any problems with their saved games either. I'm wondering if it makes a differance.
8. OOC: I take it we're using the map from Ocarina of Time? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake and the soldiers ride up along the river until they come to the entrance to Zora's Domain. They dismount their horses. Soldier 1: Lets be careful... We don't know what exactly is in there..... Sunddenly, a Flare Dancer appears infront of the entrance. Flare Dancer: Are you here to help the Zoras? Soldier 2: YES! Now step aside, or die! Flare Dancer: HAH! Pitiful! The Flare Dancer shoots a giant fireball at the group. Drake manages to jump away, but the soldiers wheren't quick enough. Their charred bones lying on the ground. Drake: Heheheheh... Flare Dancer: Do you find their deaths amusing? Drake: Fire... The Flare Dancer launches another fireball at Drake. He raises his Red Shield and deflects the fireball. Flare Dancer: WHA!?!?! Drake stabs the Flare Dancer with his Tempered Sword. Flare Dancer: NNNOOOOOO!!!!!!! The Flare Dancer fades away, as it's absorbed by Drake's sword. His sword is now glowing, even brighter red than before. Drake: (thinking) Devil Ganon will pay for this... He glances down at the bones of the soldiers. Drake: ...With his life... Drake walks into Zora's Domain, alert for any attacks.
9.
Originally posted by Navi many people liked the tomb raider movie just because laura croft was hot....sigh.
We rented Tomb Raider and watched it on Thanksgiving, and it really wasn't that good. And if I wanted to look at hot girls, I could go downtown and look at all the cute collage girls... (Although I don't) So it didn't really appeal to me at all. Yeah, I think that if they made a Zelda movie they should do it with computer animation. Anything but live acting, though... (thinks about the Super Mario Bros. movie) *shudder* ..........
10.
Originally posted by Nothing674 Hmm, you'd have to be very careful if you made a Zelda movie. I mean look at Tomb Raider, that movie blew. If they did make a movie, it would defiantely have to be animated rather than live action. I can't think of one movie off of a video game that was good, let's see.... Tomb Raider, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat.... they all sucked. They should stick to what they're good at and make video games.
Don't forget Super Mario Bros.! *shudder* That movie was bad! I remember we rented it when it first came out on video. Maybe if they made a movie, it could be about the Imprisoning War. In Zelda A Link To the Past it tells about a great war that was fought against Ganon that ended with the Seven Wise Men (or the Seven Sages, they're the same. And yes, I know that not all of the Sages were men.) sealing him away in the Dark World. Although it's obvious that it never actually happened, because in Ocarina of Time, Link and the Seven Sages sealed Ganon in the Dark World. there was no war. Still, it'd be cool to see. A picture of the Imprisoning War, from the player's guide for Zelda A Link To the Past:
11. Drake is in his blacksmith shop, working on a new sword. Drake: (thinking) This one is coming along nicely... Suddenly, a man bursts into the shop. Man: We just got a message from the Zoras! They're under attack!!! Drake: ******!!! How bad is it? Man: Bad! Devil Ganon's forces are overwhelming Zora's Domain! We're sending some soldiers to help! He puts down the sword that he was working on and grabs his Tempered Sword and Red Shield. Drake: I'll be with them! He puts on his cloak and stows a small bottle of Red Potion underneath it. Drake: When are they leaving? Man: Right now! Drake: I'm on my way! He runs out of his shop and mounts his horse. Galloping towards the exit to the village, he sees a small group of soldiers heading for Zora's Domain. Drake: Is this all!? Soldier: This is all the people who would come. Drake counts eight other men besides himself. Drake: Nine people aren't going to do much good, but I'm not going to stand by while the Zoras are being slaughtered!!! They gallop down the side of the river towards Zora's Domain...
12. OOC: Looking back at all the previous posts in this thread, I see that this...
Originally posted by kool_aid13 Somewhere in the forest, a young sorceress was practicing her magic powers.
...is the only thing that you've posted that even romotely relates to the story. Everything else has been spam. If you don't want to read the posts to find out what has happened, don't post in this thread. If you want to be a part of this RPG, that's fine. But if you don't stop spamming, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Whoa... What happened to you? What is that thing? They come around a bend in the carridor and see daylight. Drake: Finally! An exit!!! He starts walking towards the exit, but stops a few feet away from the opening. Drake: Wait a minute... He looks around at the walls, floor and ceiling. Kizu: What is it? Drake: Don't step here: He points to a few of the coble stones in the floor. Kizu: Why not? Drake picks up a small peble and throws it onto the coble stones. Large blades spring out of the walls that would've skewered anything standing on the stones. Drake: That's why. They cautiously step over the trap and out of the temple. Drake: Well, I'm glad that's over! Kizu: where are we? This deasn't look like the Swamp... Matt: We traveled a long ways underground. We're at the eastern edge of the Swamp. Orion: We should get back to the others. Andry: But what's that orb that you got, Matt? Drake: Yeah, what is that?
13. What's wrong with my RPG? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some more description of my character, since I didn't have time to post it last night: Drake is a blacksmith that lives in Kakariko Village. He has made many fine weapons, but the most power of these is the Tempered Sword which he wields. He loves the heat and frequently travels up Death Mountain to Goron City, where he got his Goron Tunic. Deep in Death Mountain Crater, he found the Red Shield which has the power to repel fire. Drake's Goron Tunic and Red Shield make him pretty much fireproof, while his Tempered Sword can absorb fire. Friendly and talkative, he doesn't like to fight with other people, but will fight to the death defending his friends.
14. You're working on theOtaku's Zelda site? Cool! I'm making my own Zelda site right now! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Drake Age: 17 Weapon/Armor: Tempered Sword, Red Shield, Goron Tunic. Description: Tall and skinny with redish-brown eyes and red hair.
15. The floor starts to shake. Orion: This can't be good! Kizu: What's happening!?! Drake: Shite! Everybody out of here!!! QUICK!!! The room starts to sink as they run towards the exit. Drake: WE'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT!!! Andry: Maybe you aren't. By now, the exit to the room is a couple feet over their heads. Andry flys up to the exit, and lands on the edge. Drake: Hey! Take this! Drake throws his rope up to Andry. Orion: If I don't make this... Orion leaps as high as he can, and just manages to make it up onto the ledge. Drake: Lower the rope! QUICKLY!!!!! Andry lowers the rope, and they grab onto it. Matt: PULL US UP!!! Orion grabs the rope in his jaws and hauls on the rope as hard as he can. Kizu: FASTER!!!!! The three of them get up onto the ledge, just as the opening closes up. Andry: Did you guys set off that trap!?!?! Drake: I sure didn't. I was being as careful as always. Orion: I didn't. They all look at Kizu. Kizu: Hey! I followed Drake down that corridor exactly! Drake: Hmmm... Orion: Maybe it got set off when that thing died? Drake: Possibly... We should get moving. Orion: Yeah, I sure don't want to stay here. They set off down the corridor. Drake: I hope there's an exit down this way... The floors sloping upward, but not very steep... Orion: I think there is. Drake: Well, I hope it's not to much farther... This sack is getting heavy... They walk along the corridor for about a half-hour. Drake: Too... dang... heavy! He takes out a cantine and takes a drink of water. Drake: I guess this is what I get for being such a great treasure hunter... They feel a slight movement of air. Matt: Did you feel that? Orion: Yeah. We must be getting close to an exit. Drake: About time! *pant* He takes another drink. Drake: Anyone else want a drink? Kizu: Sure. Drake hands the cantine to Kizu, and he takes a drink. Kizu: Thanks. He hands the cantine back to Drake. Andry: The air movement is getting stronger. They continue down the corridor...
16.
Originally posted by Kristoff119 Next to the X-Box, that is the ugliest console ever created.
Are you talking about the new NES, or the old NES? I think the new NES is pretty ugly, but I like the look of the old NES more than any other system. I don't, however, like how the old NES is front-loading. Top-loading is much easier, and the mechanism doesn't wear out in a top-loading system.
17. Two questions: 1) How long is each day? (In actual time). 2) What happens if the 30 days run out, and you don't have enough peices of the Dolphin? Do you have to start over from the begining of the game?
18.
Originally posted by GotenksSSJ343 Besides SNES I like N64 and Gamecube
Yeah, the N64 is third on my list of favorite Nintendo systems. Here's my list: 1. Super NES 2. Game Boy Advance 3. Nintendo 64 4. Game Boy Color 5. Nintendo Entertainment System 6. Game Boy/Game Boy Pocket 7. Virtual Boy You no doubt noticed the the GCN isn't on the list. That's because I've never played an actual game on it. :( All I've played is the demos in the stores. :( I did just beat the Rogue Leader demo a couple days ago, though. The Trench Run part was hard, because I couldn't figure out how to get the TIEs off my butt. I don't know how I did it, but I finally managed to shake them one time. I did get the torpedo in the exhaust port on my first try!
19. Actually, the emulators aren't illegal, it's the ROMs (games) that are illegal. (In the US, anyway). I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to talk about the emulators since they're legal. I do agree with not being able to talk about the ROMs, though.
20. I can't wait to see kuja's reaction to all this Virtual Boy bad-mouthing... Anyway, I too think that they are all good. Sure, the VB didn't do well, buts that's just because it didn't have enough games. I'm sure that if more 3rd party developers had made more games for it, it would've been more popular. That and Nintendo was probably working more on SNES games at the time, so they didn't come out with a bunch of good games for it like they usually do. Anyway, if it's how well the system did, VB is the worst. If it's the quality of the system, there is no "worst system".
21. I might rent it, but I have a problem with the game. It has a time limit over the WHOLE GAME. I HATE time limits.
22. As Drake, Orion and Kizu are making there way through one of the temples, they hear a scream so loud it makes dust fall from the ceiling. Kizu: What was that??!!!! Orion: I don't know, but it sounded like it was dieing. Drake: Looks like one of the other groups is already in here. Kizu: Other groups? Orion: There are 3 groups of people exploring these ruins right now. We're one of them, and it sounds like another is in here too. They reach the end of the corridor, which drops off into another huge, caverness room. Kizu: Whoa... Drake: We must be deeper underground than I thought... Kizu: We're underground? Orion: Yeah, didn't you notice how the corridor is sloping downward? They look down into the room and see a huge beast lying on the floor. Drake: Wow... Whoever's in here, it looks like they killed that thing... Orion: That scream we heard must have been from this thing. Kizu: So what do we do now? They here a voice from the bottom of the room. Andy: WooHoo! Drake: Hey! Isn't that Andry and Matt? Drake points to two small figures walking towards the rear exit to the room. Orion: Yes, I think it is... Drake pulls a long rope from beneath his cloak. Kizu: Where did that come from? Drake: Always be prepared, I say. He ties the rope around a large rock sitting next to the wall of the corridor. He ties the other end around his waist. Drake: Yoiks, and away! He jumps off the edge and starts repelling down the wall. Andry: Hey, did you hear something? Drake reaches the bottom, and Orion looks down at him. Orion: Screw that. He jumps off the edge. Matt: Yeah, I heard someth-- THUMP!!! Orion lands on the floor, and Matt and Andry spin around to face him and Drake. Andry: ****!!! What is that!?!?! Drake: Friends. Orion: Yes, friends. Matt: Orion? Drake: And Drake. Drake unties the rope around his waist. Kizu: Hey! How am I supposed to get down? Drake: Pull up the rope and repell down! Kizu repells down the wall and unties himself. Orion: How are you going to get the rope down, Drake? Drake: Like this: He tugs on the rope, and it falls to the floor. Kizu: WHAT!?! I thought that thing was secure! Drake: It was. Orion: Then how did you get the rope untied from that rock up there? Drake: You gotta love a magic rope... Orion: How long have you had that? Drake: About a month, I think. Matt and Andry finally get to the other side of the room where Orion, Drake and Kizu are. Matt: Where the **** did you guys come from!?! Drake: Up there: He points to the opening in the wall. Andry: Hey, if you came down the rope, how did you get it untied? Drake: About a month ago, I was over by the Hedge Maze and I found a cave with a few Rupees inside. Matt: So what does that have to do with your rope? Drake: Because behind a false wall in the cave, there was a treasure chest with this magic rope in it. Orion: Do you have anything else like that, that we should know about? Drake: No, the only magical thing I have is this rope. And possibly this sword that we found. Haven't had time to examine it closely. Kizu: Did you guys kill that thing? He points to the giant monster lying on the floor. Andry: Yep. Matt: We got it's eyes, and the rest was easy. Orion: Fighting a blind monster generally is... Drake: Shall we go collect the treasure then? Matt: What do you mean, "we"? Andry: Yeah, you guys didn't help at all! Drake: Dang... Matt: And don't try stealing any of it, either! Drake: Dang... They start walking towards the rear exit to the room.

24. OOC: Okay, you were right, Anti. It doesn't really matter, I guess. Lets get on with the story. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Well, Rupees are good for buying equipment, potions, maps and stuff like that. Kizu: Couldn't you just take the equipment off the monsters that you kill? Orion: What would you kill them with, if you don't have anything? Drake: If we're talking about you, those nice big claws would work nicely... Kizu: Okay, I see. So how long have you been saving to get that big sack-full? Drake: Today. Kizu: WHA!? Drake: Exploring these Ruins makes you one of two things: 1) stinking rich. 2) dead. Kizu: I see... Was that what that explosion was? Orion: Yep. Trap. Drake: And a damn good one, to. Lots of bombs falling on your head is not a good thing... Kizu: Yeah... So do you know how to get out of the Dark World? Orion: If we knew, we wouldn't be here. Drake: We'd be back in the Light World. Kizu: Are you sure there's no way out? Drake: We never said that there's no way out. We just haven't found it, if there is. Ever since I got trapped here, I've been looking for a way out. Kizu: How long have you been here? Drake: About 2 years, I think. And I've been all over this land. Kizu: I just got here yesterday... I don't know my way around, except for this map that I bought. Drake: Lemme see that map... Kizu hands his map to Drake. Drake: Yep... Not nearly everything... Drake takes out his map that he had drawn and shows it to Kizu. Kizu: Wow. There's a lot more stuff on yours. Where'd you get it? Drake: I made it myself. Drake points to the Skull Woods on his map. Drake: See how on my map, I've drawn the paths through the woods? Kizu: Yeah. Drake: Now look at the Skull Woods on your map. Kizu looks at his map. Kizu: There's just a bunch of trees... Drake: That's because the person that made that map has never been through the woods. Kizu: Hey, wait a minute... He points to a small hill at the edge of the woods. Kizu: That's where I entered the Dark World. At the bottom of that hill. Drake: If that's where you entered, I'd like to check it out. Kizu: Why? Drake: If there's a way in, there might just be a way out... Orion: We'll have to check that out after we're done in the Swamp... Kizu: You think you could take me through one of these temples? Orion: You wanna look for treasure? Kizu: Yeah... Drake: Sure, why not. You can come with us, as long as you don't get in the way. Orion: That could result in all of us getting killed... Kizu: What?! Why!? :nervous: Drake: Lots of traps... Orion: You sure you wanna come? Kizu: Yeah... I'll stay out of your way... They start walking towards another temple...
