Originally posted by Shyguy Actually there is Game and Watch also. But I doubt any of us here are actually old enough to rememeber the things very well. Never mind...
Like kuja said, the Game & Watch series weren't just one system. They were a bunch of individual handhelds with one game on each of them. If you want to play the games, Nintendo has made three collections for the GB: Game & Watch Gallery 1, 2 and 3. Here's a picture of the Zelda Game & Watch:

Yes, I've heard of Mega Man. I've never seen any of the cartoons, but I've played some of the games. The games are AWSOME! They're a bit hard, but they're still fun. I remember renting Mega Man X for the SNES and playing it a LOT! And I think this should be in the Nintendo forum, since Mega Man started out as Nintendo games. Btw, here's a pic of the box that the original Mega Man game came in:

I like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System because it has the best games. Here's my top 5: 1. The Legend of Zelda A Link To the Past 2. Super Mario World 3. Super Mario Kart 4. Final Fantasy III 5. Super Metroid If you've played these games, you know how good they are. If you haven't, I sugest getting them (especially Zelda A Link To the Past). Yeah, the NES really should be one there. Really, there's room for all of them. There's: Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Game Boy Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Game Boy Pocket Virtual Boy Nintendo 64 (N64) Game Boy Color Game Boy Advance Nintendo GameCube That's 9 systems, when you have room for 10 options on the poll.

OOC: Actually, if you look at my last post, you'll see that I stole Kizu's Rupee pouch as he was running away. And I guess you can stay, Kool_Aid13, but please don't post spam like that. If you are going to stay, you have to choose a mnoster type to be. A "Wizard" is not a monster. You can be a Wizzrobe if you'd like. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: WHAT!?! WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO STAY IN MONSTER FORM!?!?! I'd give anything to be a human again!!! Kizu: It's just kind of neat to be a monster... Drake: Yeah, it has it's physical advantages, but you don't seem to think quite the same... Orion: If you can't count Rupees, how did you buy things back in the Light World? (Rupees are the official currency of Hyrule, if you didn't know) Kizu: Ummm... Drake: Anyway, Green Rupees are worth 1, Blue Rupees are worth 5, Red Rupees are worth 20, Purple Rupees are worth 50, Silver Rupees are worth 100 and Gold Rupees are worth 200. Kizu: Hey, thanks. Lets see if I've got this right... I've got 8 Green Rupees, 4 Blue Rupees, and 2 Red Rupees... That's... ...68 Rupees? Orion: Yep, 68. Drake: Eh. Stealing yours wouldn've made much differance to us, I guess. Kizu: Huh? Drake takes their sack off his shoulder. Kizu: I see..... Drake: Heh. Treasure hunting pays off... Some times..... Kizu: So I guess I don't have to worry about you stealing my Rupees then... Drake: If I was gonna steal something from you, it'd be that ring that keeps you from transforming. Kizu: No! My mother gave it to me!... And... Drake: It's all you have left from the Light World? Kizu: Yeah... Drake: Then don't worry. I remember when I first wandered into the Dark World... I almost went crazy... Everything I had ever known, was gone... Probably forever... There's a long silence after that...
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Ask jcgoudy. No, I don't have pics of the ports on the bottom of the GCN, but I've seen them. I do have almost every Nintendo logo though. go to this thread, where I've posted a .zip file with all my Nintendo logos (except the Pokémon logo) to see the GCN logo.

I have an idea! Have post counts, but make it so you go straight to Member status when you get 25 posts. Make it so Members can have custom avatars. That way, everyone will be equal in rank, and you won't have people spamming so they can get a custom avatar. Make the Member status the highest status (besides Mod, God/Goddess & Admin) and you won't have people looking down on other people because they have a higher rank. If it was setup like this, you wouldn't have to worry about threads like the Padded Room Party! that don't really have a purpose, but are just generally fun. With it like this, people can feel good about their post counts, but it won't reflect their rank. People that sign up but never post won't have a high rank because it won't be based on time. Keep the bit of text by your post count/location that says when you registered, and people will know how long they've been here but it won't reflect their rank. What I'm getting at, is that there won't be a reason to post tons and tons of posts so that people can get a higher rank or custom avatar. There wouldn't really be any reason to spam, since you can have a custom avatar almost immediatly, and your rank won't go up because you have tons of posts.

There's Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver & Crystal, but those are all for the GB/GBC (they can, like almost all GB/GBC games, be played on the GBA though.) There will undoubtedly be a Pokémon Advance game, but it hasn't been officialy Announced yet. Same for SSB Advance. Drake: Well? What are you gonna do? Kizu: I.. um.. I.. Orion: Not going to take the ring off? Kizu: I... Drake: Forget it... We don't have all day... Kizu: What are you going to do to me?! Kizu stares at Orion's claws. Drake: Nothing to painful... :naughty: Kizu: AGH!!! Kizu starts to run. Drake: YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY?! HA! Drake throws a knife, but intentionaly misses... Sending it into a tree, 3 inches from Kizu's head. Orion: You just let him go? Why? Drake: I wouldn't say that I just let him go... Drake holds up a pouch of Rupees. Drake: :smirk: Heheheheheh..... Orion: You never cease to amaze me... Drake: Really? Orion: No. Drake: :therock: .......... Orion: Heheheheheh...
Originally posted by James Yes, the GCN has three ports underneath. But you don't use one port for both modem varieties. One port is for a 56K dial-up modem and the other port is a high-speed communications port, used for broadband connections. The third port is a general purpose dataport. Nintendo always puts these ports on its consoles, just incase. When Nintendo put the memory expansion and EXT port on N64, they had no specific ideas at the time as to how they would use them. They put them there just incase they wanted to use them in future.
If you use differant ports for the 56K Modem and Broadband Adapter, how come they're both shaped the same, but the ports are differant shapes? I have some pictures of the 56K Modem and the Broadband Adapter (that I got off of www.nintendo.com) and they're both shaped the same. See for yourself:
Originally posted by ShadowGohan I deleted my vs. becuase my bros use all different characters and the same as me, so how can I tell which is mine? I am on 52 in 2 hours so far...
Why'd you do that? I don't know if you've noticed, but it counts the KOs that CPU players score. So really, (unless you never play with other people or CPU players) you'll never get a record of just your scores.
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig Not sure...SNES has the Super FX (8-bit RISC expansion chip)
The Super FX chip was a chip that was actually in the game cartridge, so you didn't actually have to buy it. It just came with the games that used it. They also came out with a Super FX 2 chip. (I think they used it for Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 & 3.) I really don't consider the Super FX chips to be add-ons, since the games that used it don't cost extra.
Originally posted by ShadowGohan Hmm... I saw that for the N64... Called the 64DD or summat like that...
The N64 Disk Drive (N64DD) is an add-on that plays games off of disks, instead of cartridges. It was only released in Japan though. If you ever wondered about that EXT. port on the bottom of the N64, that's what it was for. Originally, Zelda Ocarina of Time was going to be a N64 Disk Drive game, but they decided to stick with cartridges. Probably because they were affraid that not as many people would be it, if it were made for the Disk Drive. And they were probably right, too. Even in Japan, it didn't do very well. Probably the best thing for it was a modem cartridge, so that you could play Disk Drive games online. Anyway, I've attached a picture of it. But yeah, like James said, it won't do you any good unless the games are made to use it. And if it's being made by a 3rd party, there aren't going to be any games that use it (unless Nintendo is also making something that does the same thing.) But, you never know... The GCN does have three ports on its bottom. One of them is going to be used for the 56K Modem/Broadband Adapter, but that still leaves two... One of them, I know, is a high speed port that could be used with something like a hard drive. We'll just have to wait and see...

THANK YOU!!! I was getting really sick of all the spoilers! I think it's fine to post them, but do it in another thread. I accidentally read one, and it PISSED ME OFF!!! I didn't find out anything that I didn't already know, but it still pissed me off. Anyway, back onto the topic: YES!!! I AM SO GLAD THEY LET ME USE THE X+Y BUTTONS TO JUMP!!! YES!!! I'll have to try out the other ways too, but I think the one that I'm going to use the most is X+Y. Oh yeah... When you use the C Stick, do you have to push it up, or can you push it in any direction? Same question about the D Pad, too.
Originally posted by NorykoAngelcry Remembering back, our game WAS deleted back in Feb. I was SOOOO pissed. . >_< I am sure that if it didn't get deleted, the scores would have been MUCH higher. . I mean, this game was all we played since it came out, and we would blow off every other activity to play this game. . LOL
THAT SUCKS!!! If one of my friends did that, I wouldn't lend my games to them anymore!!! Out of all the stuff I've gotten in SSB, I'd get the most pissed off about the Vs. Record being erased. Everything else (like the hidden characters) I can get again pretty quickly. The Vs. Record has been getting added to since I bought the game.

That's really weird, Kizu. You get the Golden Sword in a cave in the Pyramid of Power (which you open with a Super Bomb), by throwing your sword into a pool of water. When the faerie gives it back (if you're truthful), its changed into the Golden Sword. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: Hey! Who're you? Kizu: I'm uhh... Orion: Speak up! Kizu: I'm Kizu... I-- Drake: A spy? Kizu: No, no, no, I-- Drake: Admit it! You're one of Ganon's spies! Kizu: I'm not a spy! Orion: Then what are you doing here? Drake: And why aren't you a monster? It's got to be Ganon's magic! Kizu: No! It's my ring... I think. Orion: Anwser the first question too. Kizu: I heard the explosion, and I came to see what it was! Drake: Hmmm... What do you think? Shall we let him go? Orion: Hmmm... Drake: Wait a minute! How do we know it's your ring that stopped you from transforming?! Orion: Yeah, take it off and let us see. Kizu: But... I don't want to be a monster... Drake: Don't worry, it'll only hurt for a couple hours... Heheheh... Orion: If you transform, we'll let you go... But if you don't, we'll have to assume that Ganon's magic is stopping you from transforming. Drake: And we don't like Ganon's spies... :demon: Kizu: ...I, ummm... Orion: Well? Kizu stands there, trying to decide what to do...

The way that I found OtakuBoards is kind of weird. Late one night, I was working on my Zelda website (which I'm still working on) and I needed some screen shots of Zelda A Link To The Past and The Legend Of Zelda. I got on Yahoo! and did a search for Zelda screen shots. For some reason, it came up with with the Pika Dance at theOtaku.com. Being a Pokémon fan, I clicked on the link to see what it was. The page loaded... and I was confronted with a bunch of animated Pikachu with music. I sat there for about a minute, just starring at the screen. Finally, I bookmarked the page and continued my search. A few days later, I became curious as to where the Pika Dance was from. I went to the site, and I choped of the last part of the url, so that only http://www.theotaku.com was there. I looked around the sight, but didn't find anything of interest. About a month later, I was searching for a new message board. I did a search on Yahoo! but I only found crappy ones. Finally, I remembered theotaku.com, and decided to see if they had a message board. I looked over the page and found the link to otakuboards.com. I registered a few days later, after looking around. And so, on that lonely September night, I registered and started posting. And here I am.

If you're asking what I think is the best system, I like the SNES. It has so many great games, such as Zelda A Link To The Past, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Final Fantasy II/III, Chrono Trigger... The list goes on and on..... If you were asking what the most succesful system is, it's the Game Boy. It's sold over 1,000,000 units since it's launch in 1989.
Originally posted by kuja y dont we just reset everyone to 0 and then turn all of them off? that would be so much ezier :) have it go off of time not posts lol
That's exactly what I've been thinking ever since I came to this board! Base your rank on time, instead of post counts. You could still have post counts, but I don't think they should count as anything. Also, at the board that I used to go to (before I came to this one) you didn't get an avatar, sig, post count, nothing. All you got was your user name... and that was it. (Until recently, when they added that stuff in.) And you know what? There was barely any spam at all!

Yeah, I'm sure you would... But would you give me a GCN afterwards?

If you didn't play it, how did you know about the Golden Sword in the Pyramid of Power? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake and Orion walk out of their third temple, Drake carrying a sack full of loot. Drake: That was a good one. Orion: Yeah, it sure was. How much we got? Drake empties the sack onto the ground. Drake: Lets see... One Huge Rupee, 274 in smaller ones... That's... 474 Rupees! Orion: A nice looking sword... Looks kinda blue... Drake: Looks almost like the Master Sword. Orion: How do you know? Drake: I saw it once, back in the Light World. It's in the Lost Woods. Orion: Why didn't you take it? Drake: Believe me, I tried... It's in a stone pedestal... And it wouldn't come out... And the pedestal wouldn't break... And I didn't want to use a bomb on it. Orion: Anyway, you can have the sword. I don't have much use for it. Drake: Yeah, you don't need a sword... Your claws and tail are enough. He picks up the sword and takes it out of it's sheath. Drake: Nice... It's about the same size as my old one. He unbuckles his shortsword and buckles on the new one. He tosses his old sword on the pile. They look up at the sky. Orion: Hmmm... Which one next? Drake: How 'bout that one? He points to a ruined temple, bigger than the previous ones. Orion: Sure, why not. They walk into the ruin. Drake: This ones differant than the others... Orion: There's more moisture in the air. They catiously walk forward, until they see a trench with puddles of water in it. Drake: Looks like there's a drain further down. This must've been filled with water recently. They walk to the edge and see a ladder, going down into the trench. Across the trench, they see another ladder. Drake: I don't like the look of this... He slowly climbs down the ladder, and starts to make his way across the trench. Drake: I've never seen anything like this before... He reaches the other side and climbs half way up the ladder. Drake: Can you see if there's anything over on the other side? Orion: Doesn't look like there's anything... Drake: Good. He climbs up onto the ledge and looks around the corner. Drake: It's a dead end... There's nothing here-- Wait a minute... There's a lever on the wall... Drake walks over to the lever. Orion: Are you sure that's a good idea? Drake: No. :smirk: He pulls the lever... Drake: Nothing happened... Suddenly, 10 bombs drop from the ceiling. Drake: Get the **** out of here!!! THIS PLACE IS GONNA BLOW!!! Orion runs out the door. Drake reaches the edge of the trench and leaps. Drake: CCCRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!! He manages to grab the edge, and he pull himself up and runs for it. I had to try it though... He looks at the temple. Drake: I'm surprised that place is still standing! Orion: Lets not go in there again, okay? Drake: But we didn't explore the other end of the trench! Orion: OKAY!? Drake: Oh, fine... They walk off...

There's a Tournament Mode where as many as 64 people can battle in each tournament.
