1: What changes (if any) do you think the forum structure needs? I still think a forum structure something like this would be more organized: Entertainment - Anime Lounge - - Manga Workshop - Hardwired - Music, Movies & TV Community - Community Events - Otaku Lounge - Suggestions & Feedback Creative Works - Adventure Square - - Arena Underground - OB Anthology - Art Studio - - Art by Request 2: What new sites would you add to the OB Network? Sandy's idea for another OB picture site isn't bad. We have profile pictures, sure, but 100x100 isn't really big enough for a decent picture. Something like Tori's old picture site, where people could have an account and upload pics for people to view and post comments on, would be nice. And if we could tie it to members' OtakuBoards accounts, so they wouldn't have to register for it separately, that would be really cool. 3: Should OB Network provide a free hosting service to members for their own personal sites? If you have your own personal site, would you consider having it hosted by OtakuBoards? Free hosting? For just anyone who signs up on the boards? That seems like it could start sucking down a lot of disk space and bandwidth. Unless there's more to it than that, I can't see this being a good idea. For dinky little personal sites there are plenty of free hosts out there, and for more serious things people are probably going to want their site hosted somewhere else.

Name: Mom Real Name: Deonne Current Age: 55 (I don't think she'd mind me saying too much. She's aged a little more gracefully than some women; i.e. she doesn't freak out about it.) Height: About 5'4" (163 cm) Hair: Short, sandy brown (slowly turning gray, which she blames on me and my brothers of course) Eye Color: Blue I've never been especially close to her, but she's a great mom. She doesn't work, but instead devoted most of her time to homeschooling me and two of my three brothers. She started when the two next oldest brothers were in grade school and junior high, I think (the oldest had graduated from high school already), so I ended up being homeschooled all the way from kindergarten through high school. Thinking about it, it had to have been stressful to raise three kids and manage their school work at the same time, but of course I didn't realize it when I was little. She was a great teacher as well. She also bakes delicious cookies.

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread

lolz @ Retri I think the current sticky thread should be unstuck (though I wouldn't delete it) and this thread should replace it. -
You're a bit late. Like, eight months late. . . . I posted that article back when it was first announced. :p

He was still rather menacing, yeah.
I knew he was just a puppet after that, but I didn't see that huge reversal in his personality coming. Agahnim and Vaati have both been used in similar ways in the series and they stayed mean to the end, so that still seemed likely with Zant. I went in expecting a big, serious fight like Agahnim before Ganon in LttP, or Vaati before Ganon in FSA. And then Zant turned out to be a little wanker, which made me laugh at him through the entire fight.

The recycling of previous boss and miniboss settings was kind of annoying, yeah. I don't think the fight was really intended to be very serious or difficult, though. Even during the last part of the fight with him, his attacks seem frantic and desparate and he never does much damage if you get hit. (On another note, it's also one of the worst places to not have a manual camera in the Wii version, since Zant frequently appears behind you and it's hard to see him in time to dodge.) Again, I was laughing pretty much the entire time and I found it really satisfing to kick the coward back into his place after all the trouble he caused.

-
Regarding the boss of the eighth dungeon,
I thought Zant's personality was fitting. From the first time he mentioned that his power wasn't that of his own clan's -- after you beat the Lakebed Temple I think it was -- I knew he was just another puppet being manipulated by Ganon. Zant turning out to be the pitiful coward that he was really highlighted the fact that Ganon was using the poor sap for his own gain and nothing more.
And besides, it made beating the crap out of him that much more satisfying.

Under Windows 2000 I can drag images out of the browser to save local copies, or drag them to my Bookmarks to bookmark the image itself. I just don't get a little transparent version of it while dragging. It won't bookmark the page that the image is on, however -- but perhaps that isn't what he meant in the first place and I was misunderstanding.

I would guess it's a feature of the browser you're using.

If I were female I would wear my hair in a single braid at times, in addition to the usual ponytail. I might even tie it off with a pretty little ribbon. I'd wear skirts. Given the opportunity, I'd probably cosplay as Aeris from FFVII. . . . That is all. Really, I can't see my personality or mannerisms being much different if I were a girl instead of a guy. (Heck, I'm already unashamedly using a Cardcaptor Sakura banner/avatar set.) I'm definitely not the stereotypical "manly man" that the media seems to love, and I like it that way just fine. Even my gaming and anime hobbies I picked up from my older brothers, so I doubt those would be any different. As for hygiene, the start of my day usually goes like this: I get up, put on clean clothes -- though if I haven't done anything to get them dirty, I'll wear my black jeans for 2-3 days -- and deodorant. Usually whatever is on top of the stacks of clothes in my dresser is what goes on; I rarely plan what I'm going to wear just for the sake of appearance. I have long hair, so I spend a few minutes brushing it out straight and tying it back into a ponytail. After that I wash my face (acne sucks, I even had to get a prescription to keep it from scarring) and shave if I'm not being lazy or if I'm going somewhere that day where I want to look good. And that's about it Though in case you're wondering, I tend to take my showers in the evening (unless it's the weekend), once every 2-3 days unless I've gotten particularly sweaty/dirty. When it comes to showers, I just ask myself the questions, "Do I smell and/or feel dirty?" and, "Is my hair greasy?" If one of them comes up as, "yes," then I shower. I'm not very particular about my appearance, and I honestly don't care what most people think about it. I do enough to keep myself happy with how I look and that's all.

If so, where and what do you do? If not, where would you want to work? I don't currently have a job, though I am looking for one. The job market where I live kind of sucks -- kind of really sucks -- so finding anything other than fast food isn't easy. I'd like to get a part time job some place like Best Buy or GameStop, or maybe one of the local coffee houses (possibly Starbucks if I can bring myself to work with subpar coffee), at least for the short term. Once I finish college I want to move on to bigger and better things. If you were an assistant of Donald Trump, what would your job be? I would be the guy in charge of finding poor saps to make into his scapegoats. Obviously you can't just have a single scapegoat to pin all your screw-ups on -- that would be way too suspicious -- and he'd be too busy to find people himself. (Not to mention you don't want that kind of thing traced back to yourself.) So I'd be the underhanded assistant that takes care of all the dirty corporate affairs that no one else can find out about. Of course, if my conscience ever caught up to me and I quit to find a more honest job, Boo would probably assassinate me for knowing too much. But at least it would be fun while it lasted. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? If a woodchuck could chuck wood it could chuck π metric tons of wood. Exactly. Thus putting our supercomputers to shame.

The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
Desbreko:[/B'] Your facial expression and posture does it all, it really looks like the monkey is giving you the ride of a lifetime. ;D Still insisting on the goatee, huh? Your "spaker" is truly an abomination I wouldn't want to encounter. I think you'd make just as good a ruler to your country as you do here. ;D
It's there purely out of laziness, of which I posses a rather large amount. Though I've actually shaved it off since then, and have been trying to get myself to do so more regularly. Thanks for the compliments, everyone. I just hope I don't end up breaking the bank of everyone who's bet on me this round. >_>; -
It always seemed to me that there was more of an, "OMG sexual predators are out to get you!" stigma associated with meeting people you know online. While taking some precautions is obviously a smart thing to do, I don't think it's as huge a risk as the media has made it out to be. Assuming you're not stupid about it, anyway. Myself, there are only a select few people I know online who I'd actually be interested in meeting. Then there are others I wouldn't mind meeting, should things fall into place (meeting at a convention we're both going to or something like that), though I wouldn't go out of my way for it. But, all in all, I like the more impersonal nature of the internet. It lets me get along with people who, if I met them face to face, I probably wouldn't be able to stand being around for extended periods of time. Now, I think I'll leave you all wondering what category you're in. :catgirl:

Okay, so I ran the database table repair thing in the admin control panel and it seems to be working again. I can access my PMs, send/receive them, etc. If anyone is still having problems or notices anything that's not quite right, post in here and let me know.
-
I'm not sure what's happened. Earlier today when I tried to log on to OB I got a database error and couldn't even view the main page. I tried theOtaku and myOtaku and also got errors, though the pages still loaded. After a few minutes I could view OB again but the PMs didn't work, like for everyone else. I don't know much about mySQL or databases, so I couldn't say what the problem is, but I'll let people know if I find out what's up with the PMs.

Let's Abolish Profanity in Adventure Square/Reform thread
Desbreko replied to Charles's topic in Help & Feedback
The current plan is to have a separate website for Otakupedia, rather than have it be on OB itself. That way each article could actually have its own page, rather than having everything in one gigantic thread.
