Alex ducked as something vaguely cat-shaped, but much, much bigger, leapt over him and the others, and sped away into the distance. He saw Dash and the others close by, and ran towards them. "Are you alright? What the hell was that?" asked Mike, running over as well. "I have no idea, but it saved us from the wild people," said Dash, a little out of breath. "Wild people?" "We thought they originally lived here on the island, but it looks like some of the survivors have turned savage. The thing killed one of them, but then it ran off. What did you find?" "Plenty of water and food, and we took a look inside the temple. It's pretty empty in there, but there was this...thing...that attacked us. Kinda dog-like, but also kinda humanoid. But this guy, Sharpe, came, and he shot it." "Sharpe? There's another human on the island?" "Yeah, he's got food and weapons, and a camp as well. He's been on this island a long time, he probably knows it better than us. He said we could go with him and spend the night at his camp. It seems like a good offer." "I agree. We could all use a good night's sleep, not to mention some decent food," said Clark, the first thing he had said in a long time. "All in favour of going back to his camp?" said Alex, and the others all raised their hands. "It's decided, then," said Kat, "Let's go meet him." The ragtag group walked slowly back to the temple, where Sharpe was waiting outside. "Well, don't we have a fine group here. We'd better get goin', it's not far to my camp, but night can fall pretty quick around here. Plus, it looks like it's gonna rain," he said, looking to the sky, which was becoming black with stormclouds. The group set off towards his camp. --- Pretty soon, the rain was bucketing down, soaking right through their clothes and chiling their skin. But they didn't mind too much. They had been out in the heat for a long time now, and they needed some water to refresh them. "Not far now, kids," said Sharpe, turning a corner, past a thick cluster of palm trees. The rest of the group turned the corner, and gasped. Sharpe's camp was incredible. He had made small huts, out of apparently nothing but bamboo and twine. He had a communal area in the centre where there was a pit big enough to make a fire in. There was a small outhouse as well. It all seemed too good to be true. "Make yourselves at home," he said, throwing his bag into a shelter, "That one's mine, but I think aside from that you can fit two people in each shelter, so take your pick." The group hurriedly threw their stuff into various shelters, not really caring who they were in with. Then they all settled around the pit, where Sharpe had lit a small fire. He scooped a small box from his bag and emptied out the flesh he had cut from the beast earlier. Skewering bits onto small sticks, he placed them over the fire, where they could cook gently. --- After they had eaten the meat, which was surprisingly tasty, they moved into their huts, and almost all of them fell asleep instantly... "He's beginning to respond," said a soft voice, "He's already wiped out a lot of them." "Is that good?" asked another voice, this one female, concerned. "Yes. It means that you will have your husband back soon. Only the dominant ones are left." "Dominant ones?" "Yes. The more powerful of the survivors are left, and they will be the hardest to dispatch. We are going to have to increase the power. It will hurt him, but the painkillers should deal with that quickly enough..." Sudden, sharp spikes of pain jolted through his body, and he jolted upright... Alex's breathing was heavy, and he was, once more, soaked in sweat. The dreams were getting more vivid now, more graphic, and more painful. This couldn't be good. He rubbed his temples with his palms. What does it mean? "The dominant survivors"? Who were those people? Was one of them my wife? Do I have a wife? Thoughts ran through his head, causing blood to pound in his ears. But then he heard a shuffling... He poked his head slightly out of the hut, and saw a dark figure creeping around the camp, something glinting in it's hand. "Not quick enough...they can't do anything...They're all mine..." it said, it's voice hissing, throaty. Alex pulled himself back into the shelter, but his arm scraped across the bamboo, making a slight noise. The figure stopped, and it's head snapped in his direction. The eyes were glowing red. "Who's there? Nosy little thing...you'll be the first to go..." Alex pulled himself back into the hut, and grabbed his pack. He pulled his shirt on and threw the pack onto his back. Whatever this thing was, he had to deal with it himself. He drew a knife from his boot, one that Sharpe had given him earlier, and cut away a small section of the back of the hut, just big enough to allow him to crawl through, and then he replaced it. He ran, quietly, over to the hut where Sharpe had earlier explained was where he kept all his weapons, and he pulled the door open. "Nasty little thing," hissed the voice, and the figure struck Alex around the face, throwing him to the floor. He felt his cheek. Blood was pouring from three scratchmarks the thing had made across his face. It pounced, and kicked him in the chest, delivering a blow that felt like it broke at least one of Alex's ribs. He choked, and clutched his chest. The thing pounced again, and kicked Alex, sending him flying through the wall of the hut. By this time, the others were waking up, and they pulled themselves out of their huts, to see what all the noise was about. The creature turned and leapt at the first figure it saw. A gunshot rang out, throwing the creature to the floor, saving whoever it had just leapt at. Alex stood in the doorway of the gun-hut, a smoking rifle in his hands. He had not scored a direct or lethal hit on the creature, but just enough to scare it away. It ran, scurrying away into the undergrowth. "That was too close. We need to find out what that thing was, and how it got into the camp," said Alex, before realising that one of his ribs was broken, and falling to the floor. "Are you alright?" asked Kat, dropping to his side. "That thing broke one of my ribs," replied Alex, gasping for air. "I'll see if I can find something to fix it," Kat said, running into the nearest hut, but coming out again momentarily, her face white as a sheet. "What is it?" asked Mike. "Clark...Clark's dead..." "Dead?!" shouted Mike, running into the hut, and coming out again after a few seconds, "How can he be dead? That thing didn't get in there!" "He wasn't killed by the creature. He died of bullet wounds to the head. Someone shot him," said Kat, stunned. "Where's Sharpe?" shouted Alex, scrambling to his feet, ignoring the shooting pain in his chest, "That bastard killed Clark!" "You don't know that. It could have been any one of us," said Avian quietly. "We all knew Clark! We wouldn't kill him!" "We might. None of us really know each other, Alex. And you're the one with the gun in your hand," said Mike softly. "I only just picked this up!" shouted Alex, "I haven't been in the gun-hut until just now!" "We don't know that," said Mike, his temper rising. He strode into the gun-hut, and picked up a bundle of rifles, handing one out to each of the other survivors, "And while we don't know that, we don't know if we can trust you. So you'd better start running, Alex, because I'm giving you one day's head start, and after that, I'm coming for you." "Do the rest of you think this way too?!" cried Alex, "Do the rest of you want to hunt me down and kill me?" "All the evidence points to you killing Clark, Alex," said Kat, "I'm sorry, but it's probably better if you go." The others didn't say anything, not having had a chance to talk to Alex much, so Alex took up his rifle. "Fine," he said, "I'll go. But can you kill a man? You'll have to find that out before you hunt me down." He threw his pack onto his shoulder and left the camp at a run, feeling the need to escape from them before Mike could shoot him in the back... OOC: Ok, I needed to step this up a little. The Boss, you are now in charge of your group, but the rest of the group, don't co-operate with him completely. Sharpe is no longer in the camp, and he won't come back for a while. madnessofthecat, if you are reading this, then I will include you in this very shortly. Enjoy! EDIT: By the way, my apologies to Starwind, but you knew the rules. There will be more deaths in the playable characters at a later stage, you were just the first casualty of STRANDED

Alex, Mike and Kat all looked down at the strange creature, which was writhing around on the floor, clutching at what seemed to be it's stomach. It was about the size of an average human male, maybe a little taller, but with charcoal-grey skin, and the head of a dog, along with clawed, vicious-looking hands. "What the hell is that thing?" said Mike, a little stunned, both by the appearance of the creature, and his own reaction time, "How is that thing alive?" "I don't know, but I don't like it," said Kat, moving a few steps back as the creature flipped itself onto its feet, shaking the pain out of its system. It looked at the three survivors, and licked it's thin, wiry lips, before snarling, a hideous, inhuman snarl, and baring its fangs, strings of saliva flying from them. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, and the creature keeled over forwards, blood spurting from it's head. It wriggled on the floor for a moment, and Kat and Alex both looked away, not wanting to see a living being in such discomfort, but Mike looked on, strangely transfixed by the bizarre sight. Alex looked up to see where the gunshot had come from. At the entrance the plane had created, the hole in the side of the temple, there stood a man, wielding a long, old-fashioned rifle. The sun was gleaming on his bald head, and as he moved further into the temple, Alex could see that he was wearing tattered clothes, and his face and neck, and probably the rest of his body, were covered in scars, including a long, thin one over his left eye, which turned the eye a milky white colour. "You wanna be careful of these things," he growled, his accent a Southern drawl, his voice a deep, growling rumble, "They can secret a venom from their fangs which can knock ya unconscious for a week. That is, if they don' eat ya first." He lowered his rifle and poked around at the body with the barrel. It was definitely dead. He shouldered the gun, and drew a long hunting knife from his belt, and began slicing chunks of the creature's flesh off. "They taste pretty damn good, though, and they'll keep you healthy for weeks. Plenty of minerals in them things," he said, thrusting the chunks of meat into a small brown leather bag. "Excuse me, but...who are you?" asked Mike, the first to snap out of the shock. "My name's Gregory Sharpe. Mos' folks jus' tend to call me Sharpe, as it is. And you might be?" he asked, extending a hand to Mike. "My name's Mike. This is Kat and Alex," replied Mike, shaking the offered hand. "You got the island amnesia, huh? Can't remember anythin' abou' yourselves 'side from your firs' names, right?" said Sharpe, going back to work on the creature, "God knows I been there. I could barely remember how to walk firs' few weeks I was on the island. But I remember mos' things pretty clear now." "How long have you been here?" asked Kat. "About six months. The one thing I can't remember is how the hell I got here in the first place, though. I jus' remember wakin' up on the shoreline, an' wonderin' where the hell I was. No idea how I got here, though." "Where did you get the gun?" asked Mike. "Oh, I got a whole stash o' these back at my camp. I found 'em in a tiny li'l bunker jus' north o' here. Beats me how they got there, but they come in useful." "Can we use some? We could really use some protection," said Alex. "Well, sure. You can come back to my camp later. I got food, water, everything a body needs to survive out here. You're all gonna be my guests of honour tonight." "There's a few more of us out here. You mind if they come along as well?" "The more, the merrier! I haven't seen another soul out here for months, and all of a sudden a whole plane-load of 'em turn up. Mus' be my lucky day!" "Well, we need to search around a little more, and then we'll come back here. You mind if we meet you back here in a little while?" "I don' mind at all, young man. Take as much time as you need. I been waiting a long time, I'm sure a little longer couldn' hurt." "Thank you." Alex, Mike and Kat left the temple, leaving the strange new face to deal with the creature, which he had almost completely ripped apart. "We'll find Dash and the others and then go back to this guy's camp. We could use a good night's sleep, and the others shouldn't miss us for one night. He sounds pretty trustworthy," said Alex, "And he has weapons and protection, which is more than we can offer the others. He could be a useful ally." "Agreed," said Mike, "And he seems to know more about the island than us, so we can probably get some information from him." "Good, that's sorted then." The three of them walked away to find Dash and the other members of the party. "I guess I'm gonna have some company at dinner tonight," said Sharpe to no-one but himself, "Let's hope they have strong stomachs..." ---- Back at the survivor's camp, everything was still. The waterfall was the only source of noise, aside from the birdsong that echoed through the forest. "They're all gone..." whispered a voice. Deep within the cave, Jane sat, her arms and legs folded together, her head buried in her arms, rocking slowly back and forth. Blood stained her hands, her face and her clothes. The cave floor was slick with crimson, and the cave was littered with bodies, and body parts. The rest of the survivors had been ripped apart by something inhuman, something terrifying. And Jane was the only survivor... OOC: Alrighty, guys, a mysterious character has appeared. Dash's team, you finish up looking around. Astdis and The Boss, our team is trying to find Dash's. Next post I will take us to Sharpe's camp. madnessofthecat is away for a little while, so nothing major will happen with her character until we get back.

Alex ran down into the valley, with Mike, Dash and Kat following close behind, and Clark, Avian and Luther followed some distance behind them. A chunk of the plane's fuselage was nestled between two of the old buildings, and Alex raced towards it. "Alex!" shouted Mike, "You wanna be careful! There could be things in there you don't wanna see!" But his warning came too late. Alex peered into the dark shell, and saw at least twelve people, sitting in their seats, all dead. Blood ran thick on the floor, and there wasn't a sound in the air. Alex dropped to his knees and threw up. He had seen bodies before, but never this many in one place. He threw up until there was nothing left in his stomach. "Drink this," said Mike, handing Alex a bottle of water. He drank a few mouthfuls, and handed the bottle back to Mike. "We need to concentrate on why we are here," said Mike, not only to Alex but to all of the people in the valley, "We need to find whatever it was that attacked Dash, and if we can, we need to get any supplies that were left on the plane. Water, food, medical supplies, we need everything we can get. I suggest we split up and meet back here later. Me, Alex and Kat will search this section of the valley, as well as the part of the plane lodged in the temple. Luther, Clark, Avian, Dash, you search the other side of the valley. We'll meet back here when we're all done." The rest of them nodded, and split off, leaving Kat, Mike and Alex to search this portion of the plane. "Alex," said Kat, "I know this is going to be hard for you, but we need to go inside the plane. You're going to have to get a grip, and hold back any fear. Do you understand?" Alex nodded, and hauled himself to his feet. He wiped the tears from his eyes and forced himself into the plane. He tried to look straight ahead, and ignore the bodies, but it was incredibly hard. They seemed to be staring up at him, accusing him of something, but silently. Mike and Kat lead the way, pushing their way towards the galley for this section of the ship. There was cold water in the fridges, as well as soft drinks and beer, which they left for the moment. Trays of aeroplane food were stacked up, and Mike and Kat began shoving everything they could fit into their bags. Alex woke up from his daydream and joined in. Soon, they were heading towards the temple, smiles on their faces, their spirits lifted by the prospect of hot, vaguely-edible food, and water. But something was watching them, staring at them from the jungle...

Alex awoke after another night of being plagued by the same dreams, broken, shattered images, his head pounding. Bright sunlight was pouring into the cave, and he stumbled to his feet, staggering over to the cavemouth to pick up a half-coconut, which Mike had helpfully filled to the brim with water in the night. He drank deeply, and sighed, feeling his headche subside with the fluid entering his body. "Morning," said Mike, a long, sharpened stick clutched in his hands, "You sleep better last night?" "A little. Same dreams, though. How was lookout duty?" "I saw something. Thought it was a jaguar at first, but to me it looked more...human. And there can't be any big cats on the island if we haven't seen them already. They would have shown themselves by now." "We'll just have to be more careful in future. Anyway, I think we need to head down to the valley as soon as possible. We need a full day to check it out, and by the looks of things its only just morning. Who else do you reckon we should take with us?" "Well, Dash is the only one who's already been down there, so I reckon we should take him. Kat seems pretty capable, and I guess that's it. The rest of them can look for food or whatever." "You don't think we should take more with us? I think we need more than just the four of us. There's a few other guys I'd take. Darren Luther, there's a guy called Clark. Avian, she was another one." "Oh yeah, I had a conversation with her last night. She seems a little strange, but we could use all the help we can get, I guess." "Ok, so I'll go find them, and we'll head down to the valley ASAP. You get some supplies together, we may be down there more than just a day. We'll need food, try and find any bags there are around, a little water, whatever you can get your hands on." "Sure thing." Alex walked away, trying to find the others. Dash and Kat were dozing in the cave, as was Luther. Clark was a little further into the cave, washing his face in the small spring deep within the cave, and Avian was close by, not talking to Clark, but watching, silently. Alex told them each what was going on, and requested that they were at the mouth of the cave in five minutes, so they could head down to the valley as soon as possible. He walked back to Mike, who had gathered everything he could find, bags, water bottles, small pouches of food, all from the wreckage of the plane that Avian had come across earlier in the day. Soon the rest of the party gathered with them, and they each slung a bag onto their back, filled with food pouches and a water bottle. Alex told one of the other survivors that their job was to look for food while the rest of them were away, and they headed off towards the valley. OOC: Here the action really begins. Our party is headed down into the valley, to discover the mysteries of the island, the killer, and Dash's attacker. We are unarmed, and equipped only with the meagre supplies Mike could find from the plane wreckage. Anything could happen... And KKC, if you're out there, even though I did not say your character was with us, have her join us later, almost like a stowaway. Could the next poster please get us to the valley. Thank you.

Alex wandered around, making sure that Dash was collecting everyone's names successfully. He had little doubt that he would, but he wanted to check all the same. Dash had been a somewhat uncertain commodity in his mind since he had run from them into the valley and almost got himself killed. Alex was not entirely sure whether he could trust Dash... And now this sentence, repeated on each sheet of paper all through the briefcase that Avian had picked up. YOU ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! Alex mulled these thoughts over in his head. There was very little room for doubt in his mind that the man who had been pinned to the tree earlier, the man who had attacked Dash, and these messages were all connected. But how...? His train of thought was broken by a sudden scream of agony, which pierced the almost-silent air of the cavemouth. Alex rushed into the cave, which was where the noise had come from. Another body greeted him, this one with a blade, made from flint or some other hard substance, protruding from the neck. But this body was that of a young girl, little older than seven or eight, and it had been completely drained of blood. But the neck wound was not the only one. There were scores of marks all over her body, ripping through the soft flesh of her stomach, her arms and legs, her chest, each one with blood still gushing from the wound. "What the hell is going on?!" screamed Dash, clutching his head, "Why is all this happening?" "I don't know..." said Alex coldly, kneeling down by the body of the girl, "But I'm almost certain that this has something to do with that valley. Tomorrow morning, we are going down there and putting a stop to this once and for all." "But what if it was the...the thing we saw in the cave earlier?" said Mike, unsure of what to call the creature he had seen, but still seemingly unafraid of it. "Then we can't all go to sleep tonight. Mike, can you stay awake and guard the cave entrance? You can use the fire and fend off anything that tries to get in, and while you're at it, make sure you don't let anybody out. We don't want anybody sneaking around without us knowing." "Can do, sir," said Mike, snapping a salute, then, looking rather bemused, lowered his arm. "You shouldn't call me that. I'm not your leader, I'm just making a few decisions. We don't need a leader," said Alex. "We don't need one now, sure," said Kat, her mind apparently elsewhere, "But what if we break down? What if we can't hold this fragile democracy we have together without someone to do it for us? What if we can't make the decisions we need to?" "What?" "I...I'm not sure..." said Kat, shaking her head, snapping out of it, "I didn't really realise I was talking..." "Ok, I think everyone needs to get some sleep. In the morning, I'll take a party down to the valley and check out what's going on. Goodnight everyone." Mike wandered to the cavemouth as the rest of the survivors wandered into the cave, each finding themselves a spot to lie down and rest. But Alex could tell that they were not all comfortable about sleeping in the place where they had seen an apparently inhuman creature. And, to be honest, neither was he...

My vote is cast...to be honest, having played alongside both of you, I can't think of two contestants more deserving of the victory. I can tell it's gonna be tough, and I imagine it will be a close-fought thing, but to be honest I would have been happy if either of you won. There are no questions I can ask that would help me make my decision, so I'm going to leave it with this: Congratulations to both of you I could tell right from the time I got whipped in the MarioKart challenge that it could come down to this, but I have to say that I wouldn't have wanted to be whipped by anyone else. Thanks for the year and a half of entertainment, both participating and watching. It's been a mighty fine run.

"Dash?" Alex said as he vaulted over a small group of rocks, seeing the young man semi-submerged in a small pool, completely soaked, and, by the looks of things, scared out of his wits. "Alex...a guy...threw a spear..." gasped Dash, desperately trying to suck in air, "Missed...but could have killed me..." "Wait...are you saying that someone else is on the island? Someone who wasn't in the crash? A...native?" asked Alex, a little confused. "I don't know...could have been a survivor...too dark to tell," said Dash, gulping down massive mouthfuls of air, "But...it was human." "Well, we can't very well do anything about it now, can we?" said Alex, "We need to go back to the cave, and get some rest. Then we can sort this problem out tomorrow." He walked Dash back to the cave, but all the while he had thoughts running through his mind... What if the guy who threw the spear at Dash is the same guy who killed the other one? What if we're being hunted...what if we're not alone? We could all die on this island, and I don't have any idea why...
-
Alex stood there, goggle-eyed at what he had just found. He realised that his shout may have attracted some attention, but he wasn't concentrating on that right now. "What's happening? Why are you...oh..." said Mike, dashing into the clearing. He stopped as he saw the fantastic sight in front of them. Dash and Kat appeared behind Mike, both stopping to stare at this strange thing. In the clearing there was a group of buildings, not simple wooden huts or strange tent-like things you might expect to find on a desert island, but proper, sturdy, stone buildings. But, from the amount of debris there was, combined with the amount of vines and creepers that had lashed themselves around the buildings, it looked as though no-one had been here for a very long time. But, strangest of all, right in the centre of the clearing was a temple. It was huge, definitely over 600 feet high, with steps leading up the sides, right to the top, in a similar style to ancient Aztec temples. How could this have been here without them seeing it from the beach? However, in the middle of this Utopia, this hidden, forgotten city, was their plane, crashed, the burnt-out wreckage cleaved in two from the plummet. How they had managed to survive escaped them. The whole thing had crashed down, destroying two or three of the smaller buildings, as well as smashing into the side of the temple, ripping a gash open in the wall. "What the hell is going on here?" asked Dash, apparently getting more and more freaked out by the whole thing, "How can this have been here and we didn't notice it?" "We didn't exactly look hard enough, did we?" asked Kat rhetorically, "It makes sense that there would be some surprises here." "Alex, we came to tell you that we've found the cave, and the waterfall. It looks good. I think we can use it," said Mike, snapping back to reality. "Good find," said Alex, "We can stay there tonight, and then first thing in the morning we're going down into the city. There may be some supplies left on the plane, food and stuff we can use." "Oh great," said Kat, somewhat sarcastically, "Aeroplane food." They all shared a laugh for a moment, and then turned away from the clearing to head back to the beach to collect everyone. Dash stood for a moment longer, apparently entranced by this strange and wonderful sight. Then, he turned away and joined the rest of them... OOC: Sandy, I'm leaving this open for you to have a play around with. You feel a strange attraction to this city, but you can't really explain it. The rest of us are heading to collect everyone, then head to the cave underneath the waterfall.

"What the bloody hell happened here?" asked Kat, her eyes widening slightly at the sight of this body. "That's what I want to know," said Alex, his eyes cold and almost emotionless, "I want to know who did this, and I want to know now." "Trying to find the person who did this isn't going to be a good use of our time, Alex," said Mike, "We're better off taking this body down and finding somewhere to bury it. We need to find more food and shelter as it is. So we get a couple more people to carry the coconuts, Kat you can help with that as well, and we take the body down. Someone should stay here with the body, keep it cool so it doesn't start rotting, and then if the rest of you find somewhere sheltered, then someone comes back and helps take the body there. Does that sound sensible to you?" Alex nodded, rubbing his temples with his palms. He felt something he wasn't quite sure of, but it wasn't good. "Are you alright, Alex?" asked Dash, "You look a little peaky." "It's just...I feel like I've seen this before, somewhere. It seems all too familiar..." replied Alex, sitting down on the floor, "I'll stay with the body. You try and find somewhere to stay. Just leave a couple of coconuts, I'll keep the body cool." "Are you sure?" asked Mike, and Alex nodded. "I'm sure. I can manage, you go and find water and shelter." "That was what I was coming here to say. When I was trying to make my way to the beach, I found something that might interest you," said Kat, "There's a waterfall not far from here. Fresh water, running all the time. It's a place to get drinking water, it's a place to wash, it's perfect. And I think I remember seeing a cave underneath. If we can get in, I think we can make a shelter there." "Excellent," said Alex, "So, Kat, you take Mike and Dash to this cave, and I'll stay here. Once you've found it, find out whether it's safe enough for us to stay, and then come back here. Then we can both go and set up, bury the body, and then we can get the rest of them together." "Sure thing," said Kat, and she hurried off into the jungle, with Mike and Dash tailing her. Alex turned to the body, and grabbed it around the waist, hoisting it off the tree, pulling the sharpened wood out of the neck. He placed the body carefully on the floor, and then dragged it into some bushes, where it could stay cool. Because Alex had no intention of staying with the body. He knew that the killer had to be around here somewhere, and he was damned if he was going to let thm get away. He plunged into the undergrowth, in what was hopefully the direction of the beach. --- After around fifteen minutes searching, Alex discovered that this was clearly not the way to the beach. It was in almost completely the opposite direction. He swore to himself, and sat down on a fallen tree stump. Where was the beach? And, if he couldn't find that, where had he left the body? He was dirty, tired, sweaty and dehydrated. He hadn't had anything to eat or drink since he had arrived on the island, and he was getting extremely hungry. He wished he had brought one of the coconuts with him. Well, he thought, No point sitting around here. I might as well try and get back to the body. I'll find the killer eventually. He got to his feet and began to walk back in the direction he had come from. But it was clearly not the way he had come from, because he soon reached a clearing that he had not passed on the way through here last time. He pushed his way through the tangle of creepers and vines, and emerged into a brightly-lit clearing, completely devoid of plant growth. But there was something occupying this clearing. "Oh my God..."
-
Alex stirred out of his disturbed, broken sleep, and sat up, rubbing his eyes. He was reasonably refreshed, as much as you could be with very little sleep under your belt, and he got up to see Dash and Mike talking about trying to find some food. "I'm pretty good at climbing into trees. I even woke up in one after we had crashed, heh!" Dash said, and Mike gave him a slightly bemused grin. Alex moved over to them, the cold of dawn biting through his bare skin. He rubbed his arms to warm them up, and greeted Mike and Dash. "Morning," he said, and was replied with similar answers, "What's the plan for this morning, then?" "Well, we were thinking of trying to find some food. I heard some other people talking about trying to find water, so if we can leave that to them, we can try and find anything to eat around here," replied Mike. "And there was some more talk of trying to find any kind of civilisation. I mean, we can't live here on the beach forever, can we?" added Dash, and Alex agreed. "Do we need anyone else with us?" asked Alex, "Or will three do?" "I think we can handle it alone. Come on, there's searching to be done!" said Mike, bounding into the undergrowth. Alex and Dash smiled at each other and leapt in after him. He was fast, that was for sure, and he could handle himself well for a big-built guy. "Stop!" shouted Dash, and Alex whirled around to see what had happened. He was stood staring up at a tall palm tree, where, just below the crest of large leaves, there was a bundle of coconuts. "Coconuts! We can use them for eating and holding water!" exclaimed Dash, "If one of us can get up there, we can get enough to last us a few weeks!" "Well, you're the one who said he's pretty good at climbing trees," said Mike, walking back towards the other two, "Why don't you go fetch?" "Alright, I will," said Dash, spitting on both palms and rubbing them together. He leapt onto the trunk of the tree and began to shimmy himself upwards, higher and higher, towards the coconuts. He got up there quickly. Alex was impressed. "Alright," shouted Dash, "Look out below!" He dropped one of the coconuts down, and Alex and Mike both stepped out of the way, avoiding the coconuts as they fell, one by one, and picking them up as they rolled to a stop. Soon enough, they both had armfuls of coconuts, and Dash was sliding back down the tree trunk. "We made a pretty good haul," he said, "I say we take these back to the beach and then carry on going." "Agreed," said Alex, and the three men began back to the beach, their arms full of coconuts. But, suddenly, a horrific sight fell upon them. A body, simply hanging from a tree, speared to the trunk by his neck, a long wooden spike holding him three feet above the ground. But that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was, Alex recognised him. It was that long-haired guy who had pointed out they didn't have the means to light the fire. And now he was stuck to the tree, dried blood caking his shirt, a blank expression on his face. "Holy shit..." said Mike, and Dash ducked behind a tree and retched. Alex was stood stock still, his eyes glued to the horrible sight in front of him, the coconuts lying on the floor, forgotten. "What the hell is going on here?" asked Dash, emerging from behind the tree, wiping his mouth, "Who did this to him?" "I don't know. But we need to find out," said Alex, simply and coldly. Whoever did this was not going to get away with it...

Alex. Mike and the newcomer, Kat, pushed through the thick jungle, bundles of firewood weighing them down significantly, so their progress was perhaps slower than before. On top of this, it was getting steadily darker, the sun was now almost fully set, and darkness was beginning to creep forward. Finally, the three of them broke through onto the beach, and Alex took a long, deep breath of cool salty air, rather than the stiflingly hot stuff back in the jungle. The tide was coming in. Slowly but surely, more and more of the sand was becoming submerged, and the ocean crept up the beach steadily. "Ok, the tide's coming in. We need to make at least three fires. One won't be enough for everyone here. Space them out along the beach, but don't use too much firewood for each of them! We need to keep them going all night." Everyone got to work. They made bundles of firewood, and shoved bunches of dry grass between the sticks. Then, one of the other survivors, a lanky, dark-haired man, made an excellent point. "How are we gonna light them? We don't have any matches!" he shouted to Alex. He stopped, and slapped himself on the forehead. How could he have been so stupid? "Does anyone have any matches? Anything? A lighter?" Alex shouted down the beach. A few people pulled out boxes of matches, but they have been affected by the humidity, and they were damp. Alex fumbled around in his pockets, and finally found what he needed. A lighter. So, he must have been a smoker before they crashed. He thrust the small Zippo into the heart of the firewood and sparked it, a lick of flame jumping out and setting the dry grass alight. It burned quickly so he held it against one of the smaller twigs, hoping for it to catch, which it did. Soon enough, they had a roaring fire, and people gathering around the other piles took flaming branches to light their own fires. "We need to keep these fires going as long as we can! We may be here a long time, and we only have one lighter, so we need to economise!" shouted Alex, before sitting at the fire, with Mike, Kat and a few others, including Dash, the man he had spoken to before. With him were a girl called Avian, and another man named Clark, neither of whom Alex had seen before. They spoke for a little while, until conversation grew dry, at which point Alex said, to this group only: "I guess we should get some sleep. We need to scout out the rest of the island and find some food tomorrow, so we could be in for a busy day. Plus, I have no idea what time it is." He smiled, and lay down on the soft sand, building a small mound to rest his head on, and he fell, almost immediately, into a deep sleep... --- No...don't do it... "I'm afraid...many different...possibly lethal..." said a voice that was both familiar and unfamiliar, it's speech disjointed, as if it were playing on a radio with bad reception. "What can we do...?" said another voice, this one more familiar. A relative, someone he knew? "There is...revolutionary treatment...could...dangerous...fatalities..." "Do...thing...boy." "Indeed...apologies..." A needle, the size of his forearm, plunged into his neck... Alex woke up, his face and neck covered in cold sweat. "Bad dream?" --- OOC: The speaker can be anyone out of the group I mentioned earlier (Mike, Kat, Dash, Avian or Clark). Have a conversation with Alex about his dream. The rest of you have some dialogue going on, then go to sleep. In the morning the action really begins...

Stranded Alex got to his feet and stared out over the ocean. A few drops of blood splashed from the wound on his arm and spread on the sand as they made contact. He smiled, and used part of his shirt sleeve, which had all but ripped away, as a makeshift bandage to hold the blood in. The rest of the survivors were emerging from the undergrowth gradually. As far as he could tell, there were at least twenty of them, their ages ranging from 5 years to well over 60 years. They were of all different shapes, sizes and colours, and they all clearly had different reasons for being aboard the plane in the first place. I should probably go introduce myself, he thought, and he walked slowly over to the nearest group of people. There were about seven of them here. The first that caught Alex's eye was slim, male, with dirty blond hair. "Hi," he said, "I'm Alex." He extended his hand, and the man took it and shook vigorously. "Daniel. Daniel Ashgrove. But most people call me Dash," he replied, speaking quickly, as if he was panicked about something. "Nice to meet you, Dash," Alex replied, "So...can you remember anything? About the accident, I mean?" "No, I'm just about as clueless as you. I remember who I am, I remember getting on the plane, but other than that, I have no idea about anything. Sorry to disappoint." "It's no trouble. Who are the rest of you guys?" he asked, gesturing towards the rest of the group. "My name's Mike," said another member of the small group, extending his hand. Alex shook it, and smiled. "Nice firm handshake you got there, Mike," he said, "You seem like a strong guy. Can you help me grab some firewood from the jungle? It looks like it's getting dark." He was right. The sky was turning grey as they spoke, the sun falling behind the horizon, now just a fat orange blob sitting in the distance. "Sure thing," Mike replied, and the two men headed into the jungle. OOC: Alrighty, here it is. For your first posts, I want you all to get to know about each other. Take a seat on the beach and have some little discussions. The Boss, you and I have gone into the jungle to collect firewood. Have a conversation with my character while you are doing it, but by the end of your post can you have us back on the beach. Then the fun will begin.

I've seen all I need to see. Now that I have enouhg good characters to be getting on with, I'm going to say: SIGN-UPS CLOSED Unless you give me a really good sign-up by PM, or you are especially nice to me and give me cookies. Here are the characters: Alex - Me Daniel "Dash" Ashgrove - Sandy Avian - Frankie Clark - Starwind Robin - KKC Mike - The Boss Jane - madnessofthecat Darren - vicky Kat - Astdis Sorry to those who didn't quite make the cut. It was tough on me, seriously. It drained me completely. To the others: welcome! I should have the first post up either tonight or tomorrow, and after that, you can get posting! There will be no posting order, and there will only be certain events that I need to portray. Other than that, it's your RP, have fun with it! Again, PM me if there are any questions. EDIT: It's up! Have fun, and PM me if there are any problems with your first post

Thank you all for your sign-ups! It's nice to have this looking rather popular already. Just a few tiny little niggles: Can you all just make absolutely sure that your personalities are very different, and also, can you try to make them a bit clearer in your snippet? Or, if not, just attach a section to your snippet that looks a little like this: Personality: ...... If you could, that would be much appreciated. And a couple of things directed mainly at 1NOnlyCloud. Firstly, you wouldn't be able to remember your name straight off. If you recall, I said that everyone on this island is suffering from memory loss, so bad that it takes a struggle to remember your own name. Secondly, your apology not withstanding, your snippet is too short. Take a look at some of the others for an example of length. You don't have to make it as long as Frankie's, but it should be a little more in-depth than yours. And also, attaching a picture of your character was not an option. I need to see your descriptive skills in your snippet, and that means giving me a physical description, even just a brief, relatively detailed one, of your character. Other than those things your snippet looks good, just needs a little more work. And in answer to your fears, Sandy, this will not follow the storyline of Lost. It is merely based on the same basic theme as the show, but towards the end it will become very very different, I assure you. To be completely honest with you, I haven't even seen any episodes of Lost, I have just heard about it and have had this idea floating around with no real substance in my head for a long while, and decided to flesh it out a little. Other than that, all the sign-ups are looking good so far, it would be nice to see a few more coming in. I don't think I mentioned it before, but I don't need all that many characters to get started, so if need be I can start it with the limited number of characters we have currently. Thanks to you all for signing up, I had all but lost faith in my own RPs, but you have restored it!

Stranded Creepers and vines whipped at the bare flesh of his arms. He struggled to get to his feet in the burning sun. His head was swimming, and he could barely see three feet in front of him. Something had happened...he was somewhere strange. He tore through the dense jungle of creepers, ripping at them with his hands, tearing them from the trees as he stumbled blindly through the trees. Strange noises, animal sounds, the wind assaulted his ears. He coughed, his lungs full of burning air. Finally he was out of the jungle, and he had emerged on a golden beach, pure white sand stretching as far as the eye could see, clear blue water all the way to the horizon. But behind him, where he had just come from, was thick jungle, and smoke rising above the treetops. Where was he? And, more importantly, who was he? He could not even remember his name...Harry...Harold...Alan...Alex? Was that his name? Alex? Yes, it must be. His name was Alex. He looked down at his clothes. Jeans and a white shirt, slightly ripped, a little charred, but for the most part in tact. His hair was short, and there was a little stubble growing on his chin. That told him who he was, now for where. He sat down, trying to remember what had happened. He was in America, that's right. He was trying to find something...in a huge building...an airport. He had been looking for something...or was it someone...in an airport. But he had gotten on the plane, and it had been about an hour, maybe more, he may have fallen asleep...then something happened. The plane ripped itself apart, tore itself to shreds, and burning chunks of it fell out of the sky...that was right... But he couldn't be the only survivor. There must be some others somewhere. Maybe if he found the plane, or what was left of it, he would find some people who were with him. He got to his feet, but there was no need. Already from the jungle there were groups of people already emerging, as scruffy-looking and as exhausted as him... ---- I'm not going to reveal too much of this RP now, that's why the intro is not as long as some of my others. Now here is the low-down. As you may have guessed, this is based on a Lost-style theme, people stranded on a desert island, weird things happen. But, everyone on this island has lost their long-term memories. They remember who they are, and how old they are, but very little other than that, apart from what has happened recently. They remember boarding a plane, and the plane crashing, but apart from that, they remember very little. This is a quest to find out what happened, and why they are here, with a very big twist which will appear at some point. But, on this island, anything can happen. The impossible becomes possible, the improbably becomes extremely probable. Now, instead of a sign up, I want a character snippet, of your character finding themselves in the jungle, and making their way out onto the beach. But give me plenty of description, of your physical appearance, what they can remember of their past life, and their personality, but this is one thing I have to ask you to do. Please make your character's personalities as different from each other as possible. I really want them to be a massive, diverse spread of personalities. If there are two that are even remotely similar to each other, I will have to choose the better snippet to go through. I want sadists, crazies, loners, people who keep themselves to themselves, extroverts, introverts, anything you can think of, but keep it varied. I cannot stress this enough. And, one last thing. There will be deaths in this RP, and not just of NPCs. Players will die, and very few of you will last until the end of this RP. Think of it like OB Survivor. If you are underachieving, or if you disappear without informing me earlier, you will be killed off. Is that clear? Take a look at the introduction to find out a little about my character, and PM me if there are any problems. Happy creating!

You twisted my arm, Will ;) Name: Tahu Element: Fire Koro: Ta-Koro Appearance: Tahu Kanohi Mask/Power: Red Kanohi Hau, The Mask Of Shielding. It can protect the user from any visible attack, but this does not apply for if the wearer is ambushed. It will create a shimmering force-field, usually spherical, around the user, but to most it is transparent, except when it is struck, when the area of contact will flash a shocking red colour. Tools/Ability: The Firesword that Tahu wields is a powerful weapon. It can heat up molten lava to massive temperatures, some of which only Tahu himself can withstand. However, Tahu himself is a powerful wielder of flame, and is able to focus heat through his Firesword, which can then melt through any object, and obstacle that stands in his way, and it allows him to create and blast fireballs from his hands. Biography: Tahu is the fire spirit and the most powerful, fierce, and feared of the six Toa - you don't want to get into a fight with Tahu if you can help it. He can create fire and focus heat through his tools, enabling him to melt any substance and blast powerful fireballs. Tahu is most at home in the hot molten world of the Mangai Volcano where he surfs on lava flows with incredible balance, using his sword of flames to cut through rocks and keep the lava moving down towards the ocean (much to Gali's displeasure.) The Matoran respect his powers, knowing the incredible power of fire. They don't see him as a destructive spirit, however. He's revered as a guardian, the provider of the fire by which they warm themselves at night and keep the dangers of darkness away. He is hot-headed and irrational, with a flaming temper. He has the least patience of all of the Toa, and often jumps into a situation without thinking, which often gets him and the other Toa into trouble! Tahu's primary mask is a Kanohi Hau. Post Sample: Tahu stepped carefully through the mass of broken trees and crumbling ash that was the Charred Forest. His feet turned many a burnt twig into a small mound of grey ash underfoot, ash which soon blew away in the soft breeze. His Firesword was sheathed, as he couldn't foresee any trouble in his own Koro. And if there was trouble, his Kanohi would shield him for long enough that he could draw his weapon without being harmed. But there, glinting slightly, in the distance, was something that caught Tahu's eye. It looked like...but it couldn't be...a Kanohi mask? In the Charred Forest? Impossible. He would have found it before now. He smiled, and began to walk over to it, but something snapped around him. A cage, made from wood. A Rahi trap, just like the one he had been caught in when he had first arrived here. Typical. He drew his Firesword, and set it against the wood of the cage. It caught almost immediately, and the cage burned down, turning to the same ash that covered the Forest floor. Tahu grinned. They didn't make Rahi traps like they used to. He made his way slowly over to the Kanohi mask, which lay still on the floor. Crouching to his knees, he picked it up, and it shone with power. Another Kanohi mask, he thought, Perfect... Hope that's all good for you.

Intriguing. I was actually trying to come up with an RP along the same sort of lines as this a while ago, but you've done a much better job than I ever could. Name: Lex Title: Lex, the Destroyer Number in Organization: III Gender: Male Personality: Lex is undoubtedly the coolest of the Organization. He hardly ever loses his temper, and fights with an icy cool persona, never letting rage guide his way. He is clever and quick-witted as well, and can match wits with almost any opponent. Although he doesn't talk much, whenever he does, it always adds to the conversation, and he never uses five words when three will do. Appearance: Standing at 5'11", Lex is not one of the tallest people you will ever meet, nor is he the most well-built. But his outward physical appearance hides a great strength within him. For his fighting style does not depend on strength, but on agility as well. His body is like that of a gymnast or acrobat, lean but muscular. The top of his head is covered by icy-blue hair, usually flopping lazily over his forehead, and into his eyes, which are the same icy blue colour as his hair. He often wears a pair of slim black shades over his eyes, but even he draws the line at wearing them indoors. His clothing of choice is made up of a black sleeveless shirt, with a high collar, and a large metal shoulder-plate on his left shoulder. His trousers are black as well, and not too tight, but not loose either, and they fall down past a pair of lightweight black boots, with soft soles. Usually, though, he covers all of this with his black hooded Organization robe. Weapon: A large sword, much like the one in the attached picture, which he does not have to carry around constantly, it appears when he needs it, much like the Keyblade, and it holds enormous destructive power within it's mortal blade. Nobody: As seen in second attachment. Named Kirik, Lex's Nobody is as agile and flexible as him. He can match Lex move for move, jump for jump, and can use his arms as bladed weapons. He is also relatively small, so he can ride around on Lex's shoulder for the most part. Character Snippet: He was here somewhere. That person that Lex had been tracking for what seemed like days on end. He was close... Lex tracked, but he was not sneaky about it. He knew he could be quiet without hunching over, or anything else so undignified. His soft-soled boots padded gently on the floor, releasing next to no sound upon contact. He had left Kirik guarding the only entrance to the hall, so that if the prey tried to escape, he would be confronted with a very dangerous Nobody. Suddenly, a scuttling sound, and Lex whirled around, his massive broadsword appearing in his grasp. He smiled, seeing the figure trying to stay still so as not to be seen. But he was failing, and Lex walked calmly towards him, the blade of his sword glinting ever so slightly in the moonlight that penetrated the windows of the hall. One quick move, and the blade of the sword was piercing the wall, and it had pinned the figure's cloak to the wall, rendering him motionless. Lex walked up to him, and saw that he was wearing similar robes to him, but they were definitely not Organization robes. He ripped the hood off, and was confronted with two glowing blue eyes, the same blue as his own. He ripped the figure from the wall and thrust him into the moonlight, and saw his face. It was Lex's own face, as clear as if he was looking in a mirror. His lip curled into a smile. "Who are you?" he asked, still perfectly calm, "Why are you showing me my own face?" "Perhaps this is my own face as well. Perhaps I am just a reflection of you, a reflection of what you once were," replied the figure, his voice perfectly identical to Lex's. "You cannot worry me with thoughts of my past. I have confronted every demon that once plagued me, and I have won. I have nothing in my past that I am ashamed or frightened of. So you have failed in your attempt, Ghost." "I am no ghost..." the figure said, and he faded away. In fact, Lex's entire surroundings seemed to be fading away, shattering as though they were made of glass. He awoke, not suddenly, but slowly, gently, and he got up. He had been having the same dream for the last four weeks, but it was slowly getting clearer and clearer...

I've had many a painful experience in my time. Although, come to think of it, a lot of them have involved slamming my fingers in doors... 1. The screen-door incident When I was about five, I was coming into the house from the garden, and I "forgot" to get my entire body inside the door, and as I shut the screen door, I slammed my finger in it. Blood everywhere, much confusion, but didn't even merit a bowl of ice-cream. 2. The second screen-door incident Well, you know how screen-doors are made of glass? And you know how glass is see-through? Well, I made the mistake of not realising this, and running slap-bang into a screen-door. My nose bled for over an hour. 'Twas not pleasant. 3. The bathroom-door incident This one was at a barbecue when I was about 7. My friend ate too many marshmallows or something, and he had to throw up. He started throwing up, and I, not being used to the sight of vomit, slammed the door pretty damn hard. But, being me, I forgot to get my finger out of the way, and I slammed my finger in the door. But not in the normal way kids do. No, I had to be different, and I slammed my finger in the hinge part of the door. I had blood running down my hand for at least an hour afterwards, and I turned as white as a sheet and almost passed out. So, overall, my painful experiences have not been as painful as some of yours, but I guess I'm not as adventurous as some of you.

Another post has come into existence for the Blue Team. I hope this is ok for everyone, it may manage to jump-start the thread into life again. I didn't know exactly what you were after for the whole theme of the island, Ozy, so I tried to make it as vague as possible. And I guessed that, there being satyrs on the island and all, there would be other mythical creatures roaming around as well, so I stuck a few harpies in. Hoping this will breathe some life into the game.

"I guess we should find a place to stay," said Sparks, looking around for an inn, tavern or other such place. "You won't have much luck looking around like that," sighed Impulse, "You need to physically move your body. Like this." He wandered over to a small hill, which he clambered up, nimble and agile as you like. "Well, you're going to have to come and look, aren't you?" he asked sarcastically, pointing sharply to his sightless eyes. Sparks nodded and jumped up to where Impulse was standing. Looking out over the village that stretched out below them, she could see at least three places where they could make a base, somewhere to begin their search from. They began to head to the nearest inn, a small building built mostly from wood, apparently owned by yet another satyr. He was currently sweeping away some of the dirt that now rested on his doorstep. "Excuse me, sir," said Vernacular, and Impulse sighed. This was to be the beginning of a long, round-about way of asking if he had a room spare, "But me and my companions, team-mates, compadres, cohorts, friends are searching for a place to live, recover, wash, sleep, set up a base. Could we rent, borrow, use any spare rooms, dwellings, apartments you may have spare? We can pay you well, gladly, happily." "What's she saying?" asked the satyr in a croaky voice. "Do you have a room we can rent for a little while?" asked Sparks with a sigh, shoving Vernacualr out of the way. "Aye, we have rooms spare. I'll need 'em free by the end of the week, though, we've got a big party coming in from the north," said the satyr, opening the door and letting the party in. Unfortunately, the inn wasn't exactly built for fully-grown humans. They all had to duck down to get in. "Well, this is cosy," said Sakura, shoving her way through to get to the stairs. She clambered up them with some difficulty, and found that the upstairs dwellings were a lot more spacious than the downstairs, and they could easily stand and move about upstairs. "Ok, we have limited time in this inn. I suggest we get this asphodel plant and get off this island in the week that we have the room. Otherwise things could go a little sour for us. Who knows what's going on with time outside the island. So, let's start the search straight away. Sakura and Impulse, you go and start searching the west part of this island," Sparks said, taking a map from her pocket and spreading it out on the table. "This is where most of the plants grow, so it's where there are most likely to be these asphodel plants," she said, indicating to the west side of the island, "If you two search there, then Vernacular and I will search here," she indicated the east side of the island, the second most foliage-covered part of the island, "That way, we're more likely to find the plant. Sakura, you'll have to do most of the searching, but Impulse, you try and protect her from any dangers that could arise. I'll do the same for Vernacular." Sakura nodded, and Impulse walked out of the room slowly. He lead the way to the west side of the island, somehow managing to find his way. Eventually Sakura caught up with his quick pace. "Slow down, Impulse, I can't keep up," she said. "Not my problem. You should be faster, and I'm not going to slow down if we have a time limit on finding this flower. We have to be quick and thorough. Can you do that?" replied the psychic dryly. Suddenly, something swooped down from the sky, clawing at Sakura's head. She cried out and dropped to the floor, surprised at the sudden attack. Impulse kept very still, and listened for the rustling of feathers. He turned, and sent a telekinetic blast out. Something screeched, and a soft thud followed. "What is it?" he asked Sakura, who crept over to the prone object. "It's so strange. It's a bird, brown feathers, talons, but...it has a woman's head," she replied, "Sparks must know something about it." "Don't think that Sparks is the only one who has some knowledge of Greek legend. This is a harpy, half-bird, half-woman. Dangerous. and they never travel alone, which means there is a flock of them somewhere around here. We'd better move fast," he said, grabbing Sakura's hand and pulling her along. They leapt into a patch of wild flowers, as Impulse heard the screech and cry of more of the bird-women, the flapping of wings getting louder as they came closer and closer. "Keep very quiet," he whispered to Sakura, "And don't move a muscle." The soft cry of a harpy came, followed by a chorus of hideous cries. They had landed. "On my count, get up and start swinging," said Impulse, handing Sakura a chunk of wood he had just picked up from the ground, "One, two, three!" Both of them leapt onto their feet, Sakura swinging the log, batting harpies out of the air as they swooped towards the pair of them, Impulse blasting them out of the sky with telekinetic blasts. Soon enough, they had scared most of them away. "I'll take care of the stragglers, you try and find the plant," said Impulse, running after a small group of harpies, blasting them to the ground. He returned, wiping the perspiration from his brow, and stood next to Sakura, who hadn't moved. "What's the matter? Why haven't you started looking?" he asked, somewhat harshly. "There...there's quite a lot of plants," she said, swallowing. "How many?" "Lots..." Sakura turned back to the field. Acres and acres of land, stretching as far as the eye could see, full of plants. "This could take a while..."

So, every player will be a hybrid, eh? Interesting. I foresee many a plot twist and many a "Wha'!?!?" moment. This looks very interesting, James, very interesting indeed. And clearly, you being you, you'll be able to keep this fresh with enough changes to keep it going for a long time. I look forward to seeing this in the Inn.

Indeed you are not the only one who watches 24. I am an avid follower of this god-like TV show, and the god-like Jack Bauer. I have seen all but, like, one of the episodes, and even though I am here in England where we are about 4 weeks behind on the Americans, I still know what is happening in the series in America, through a spoiler-laden recap site that I promised myself I was going to stop looking at once this series had gotten underway, but I just can't drag myself away from it. But there are differing rumours splattered all over the internet. Some say that this is the final season (which, I have to admit, would make sense, with all that is happening - Jack admitting that he is scared about this terrorist threat and whatnot), others say there will be one more, as Kiefer and Mary Ann Rajskub (who plays Chloe) are signed up for another season, and others saying that Kiefer has, in fact, signed up for three more years playing Jack Bauer, but who knows if any of them are true. But all I can say is, we can be sure that this season will end with a bang unlike any of the others. We're getting into some deep doodoo here, and who knows who will survive it? Well, Jack probably will... But I for one hope that when the show finally comes to a close, Jack goes out in the way only a true hero can...

Howdy, Arty-types. I was just wondering if any of you lovely lovely people could possibly make me a new set, using the attached picture. The avatar should just be Dwighty-boy's face, possibly with a border around the whole thing. The banner should just be Dwighty-boy again, with the words: "The Big, Fat Kill" on it, possibly in the Sin City typeface, if you can get hold of it at all. If not, then just something that kinda fits in with the whole feel of the set. Use your imaginations. And also, I don't want my username on the banner or the avatar, so just leave it off. Thank you very much in advance, you are all lovely people and I love you.

Sin City Yarns Walk down the right back alley in Sin City, and you can find anything... ----- Welcome to Sin City Yarns, a new project from the twisted mind of Blayze. After the unfortunate lack of interest in my Sin City RP from a while ago, I have decided to try something a little different, something that might work a little better. So here's the basic idea: I need a maximum of four original characters that could dwell in the hellish metropolis that is Sin City. I'm talking about dark histories, tortured antiheroes, sick and twisted villains and dirty fighting. I will need you to place a snippet of what you can do in this thread, just a few paragraphs involving your created character, along with a few basic details, name, gender, a little history etc. You can work this information into your snippet if you wish, or you can put it separately. Then, when my four original character spots have been filled, I will begin the thread proper. This will be situated in the Adventure Square, but it will act more like an Anthology thread, with each post being long enough to count as a story of sorts (in a similar way to Shy's "hero"). These will be individual stories about each character, about anything you choose, but eventually the stories will intertwine, different characters getting involved in each story. Have your interests peaked yet? There are a couple of rules, though. 1. You must know at least something about the Sin City world. You can watch the movie, or, alternatively, but not preferably, you can use this site to get some info on the way the whole thing works. 2. You must be a competent writer. Please do not waste my time with poor-quality snippets that you whacked out in five minutes. Take your time with your snippets, make me want to read them, make them pull me in. 3. You must be dedicated to the cause. I don't want people who are going to get accepted and then stop posting for no apparent reason. This also means that, if you can, you would need to inform me if you were taking any time off. There may be a specific posting order that I will put up, but it is unlikely. Ok, so, on to the sign-ups. Instead of the usual sign-up sheet I will be needing, as stated previously, a snippet of your character in action. It doesn't have to be anything too major, it could even be your character just sitting, thinking about their particular situation, whatever you like. Please try not to make this snippet too long, about three paragraphs, or maybe around 500-800 words. You can go a little over if you want but don't go too crazy, as I don't want to have to trawl through acres of writing just to get a snippet. Other than that, just enjoy writing it, and I hope you will have fun taking part in this project. Just to show you I am game, I will be writing a snippet for my character as well, in case any of you thought I would be slacking. Any questions, PM me, though I may set up an Underground thread at some point. Happy creating!
