1. Ikillion, I would be happy to have you involved in this. To everyone interested, Sin City will be up in the Inn very shortly. I just have to sort out a couple of things with Justice City and then I will make a start on it. I have devised a storyline that I think will be most interesting for everyone involved. So, I guess my last estimate of having a month before it goes up was a little generous to myself, I just have to sort out some things for the first chapter and then it will be up. Just thought I'd give you all a heads-up. EDIT: Sin City is now up in the Adventure Inn. Places are reserved for Citrus, Ezekiel, Jokopoko and Ikillion. Thank you for your input.
2. Issue 2: Gangland Characters: Phalanx (aka Centurion, Angel and Diamond) Setting: Sicilian Quarter, Justice City Synopsis: The Sicilian Mafia have gained high-tech weaponry from an unknown source. They now have the firepower to challenge most other gangs in Justice City, but the Sicilian Mafia are the most ruthless group in the City. They will stop at nothing short of utter devastation. It is up to Phalanx to stop them. OOC: Ok, Phalanx, it's your chance to shine. Everyone else can wrap up their stories in the next few chapters. This will be a reasonably short chapter, with each member of Phalanx having only one or two posts. Jokopoko if you would like to begin, and after that there is no specific posting order. Enjoy!
3. Shadow leapt over a clump of bushes, Pokeball in one hand, Pokedex in the other, charging towards a little caterpillar. He knew he could catch it easily, but it was avoiding his Pokeballs, and he had been chasing it for ten minutes. Finally, he lobbed the Pokeball at it, and it struck, but before the little thing could be sucked into the little red ball, it unleashed a barrage of tiny needle-like objects from its mouth, and they flew through the air towards Shadow, striking him in the shoulder, sending him spinning to the ground. Congratulations. You have captured a Caterpie. But Shadow couldn't hear this. He lay on the ground and groaned as he felt the poison rushing through his veins. Bloody Poison Needle attack. He felt sick. He was even hallucinating. He saw a big pink marshmallow standing over him, cooing gently. "Blissey..." it said, looking concerned. ------ OOC: Claim Blissey
4. People I'd like to meet IRL. Hmmmm: Ezekiel: If only because we seem to have so damn much in common. Freaky... Citrus: I just started talking to her, and she seems really cool Sakura: Because I've been in like a bjillion (accurate number) of RPs together demonchild781: Same reason as above, and I started talking to her on MSN, she seems cool Baron: He just seems too damn cool for words, and, like Retri, I've never met an Australian before Kairi: One of the first people at OB I really bonded with Kamuro: We were in a few RPs together but now he's kinda disappeared... That's about it for now, if I think of any more I'll post again.
5. Kraven heard these words and rose to his feet, almost as if under a spell. He walked slowly, silently over to Beelzebub, who stood with his sword drawn and his wings spread wide, waiting for the Guardians to come. "What do you say, Kraven? We work together to destroy these pathetic Guardians, so that we can end this the way we choose?" asked the Duke. Kraven nodded, and drew his weapons. "Come on, now, Kraven," said Beelzebub with a half-smile, "If you're going to die, you may as well go as you were born." Kraven looked at him, then returned his half-smile, and allowed his wings to emerge. They ripped the back of his jacket open, and burst forth from underneath, jet-black and smooth, shining in the moonlight. "Let's show them how demons fight," he said, looking carefully at the circle of Guardians that surrounded them now, from them to his enemy, the one he now stood beside. The two demons rushed the Guardians, swords flashing. Grey-cloaked figures drew their own weapons, but were cut down by the strength of the two demons. Blood splashed to the ground, staining weapons as the Guardians fell. Soon there were few Guardians left. Beelzebub grabbed one and slammed him to the ground, breaking his neck, as Kraven rammed his sword through another. Thunk. An arrow flew from the bow of a young female Guardian, and slammed into Kraven's stomach. He was knocked to the ground, and Beelzebub hurled his axe at the girl. It lodged itself in her head, killing her, and Beelzebub picked Kraven up, pulling the arrow out. "Now that the Guardians are gone," said Beelzebub, "You must be fit and healthy for our battle. Your wound is healed." Kraven looked down, and saw that the wound had closed up. He felt fitter than ever, ready to fight Beelzebub. "Let's finish this..." OOC: Alrighty, shadow, if you want to begin the battle proper, then I will finish it with my next post)
6. My sympathies, Gavin. Take as much time as you need to sort out your sign-up, I know you're worth waiting for. As for everyone else, well done, the posts so far are looking excellent. I'll probably move on to the next issue reasonably soon, so it doesn't matter hugely if you haven't introduced your character when I do.
7. I think you're somewhat missing the point, digiX. Your last two posts, complaining that you didn't get in, have had appaling grammar and punctuation. From that, I don't have reasonable grounds to give you another try, whether it is editing your current sign-up or deleting it and creating an entirely new one. So, I'm sorry, digiX, but there is no way I can let you into this RP. I just think the level of writing ability shown here would bring me to believe that you would bring the quality of the RP down a few notches. And as for the rest of you who didn't get in, improving your sign-ups is not going to give you a chance to get in. If you can't provide a sign-up of reasonable quality on your first go, then it shows that you are not as interested in this RP as I would perhaps hope, instead bashing off a sign-up haphazardly. I don't want the quality of writing in this RP to be brought down at all. I'm sorry, but that is the way I work.
8. Fumbling around in the grass again, Shadow tripped over something that looked like an overgrown plant. He got to his feet and looked at it, and, seeing that it wasn't an overgrown plant, and in fact it was a Pokemon, he drew a Pokeball and his Pokedex from his belt. Bayleef. A grass Pokemon, the evolved form of Chikorita. The "necklace" of Bayleef produces a burning scent to stun its opponent. For some reason, this fragrance makes people want to fight. Shadow sniffed the air around him. There was a kind of spicy scent hanging in the air. He breathed it in, as it was quite pleasant. He smiled, but then something clicked over in his brain. He looked down at the little plant-Pokemon, and for some reason, he wanted to beat the living hell out of it. He lunged at it, but it dodged quickly out of the way. "Quick little thing, aren't you?" he snarled, drawing his gun. He fired three times at the little thing, but it dodged every shot. He lashed out with a foot and kicked it in the body, sending it crashing to the ground. Suddenly, the spicy scent faded, and Shadow looked down. Why had he just beaten that little thing? Why didn't he just capture it? He was so stupid. He picked a Pokeball from his belt and knelt down next to the Bayleef. He touched it lightly with the ball, and it was captured. Congratulations. You have captured a Bayleef. "Isn't there any way I can turn that thing off?" he said, getting annoyed at the mechanical voice.
9. I'd have to say the worst movie I have ever seen is a little-known (and I thank god for that) martial arts movie starring Billy Zane called Invincible. If anyone has ever seen this travesty of a movie, then they will agree with me. Some bizarre plot to do with beings from another dimension fighting with the power of the elements, it sounds entertaining enough, but I almost clawed my eyes out in sheer despair. Another movie I actualy physically hurt myself to escape watching was Raise You Voice with Hilary Duff. It was the worst pile of steaming movie gunk I have ever seen, a cheap Fame-wannabe. I had to sit through it because I was at a girl's house, and the girls outnumbered the guys, so we were forced to watch it.
10. Justice City Library Welcome to the Justice City Library. This is where all those who have been accepted into the RP named Justice City can post their literature about their character in the RP, whether it is stories, poems, diary extracts or anything else you can feasibly think of. However, as I cannot post a blanket rating for this, please put in the title of your story what rating it falls under. Have fun, and here is my entry: Rebirth (PG) My first memory...darkness...thick, choking smoke pouring down my gullet, burning by lungs as I tried to breathe through the oily vapour. Everything hurt...my eyes...my throat...the needles stuck in my arms and legs. There was a man...an old man, balding, wearing thick-lensed glasses. He held a hypodermic needle in his hand, and he was laughing as he injected the milky-white substance within into my veins. My body spasmed, but I didn't feel it. I had been put through worse than this, and now my pain receptors were shot. I couldn't feel a thing as a scalpel was drawn slowly and purposefully across my chest, with no anaesthetic. Tears ran down my face, cutting through the layer of grease and dirt that caked my skin. I blacked out... Now I stand here, ten years later, at the very same building where my life began. It is a sorry place, a worn-out, crumbling concrete building, huge smokestack chimneys rising into the sky like some sort of desperate, clawing fingers. I felt the rage and anger build inside me as I remembered what was done to me here. And not only me, but countless other children, from three years old to nineteen. I hated this place more than I hated anything in the world. Snow crunched underfoot as I walked slowly towards the building. I place my hand on the wall, and my eyes begin to glow. The familiar feeling of my mind clicking into work, the pulse of energy than runs all the way through my body. Red light surrounds me in an aura, like some unholy demon, and the building begins to crumble. Concrete is torn from the metal girders that support it, metal girders are ripped from their foundations. The smokestack chimneys fall to the ground, bricks flying in all directions. I use the power of my mind to tear this place apart, so that no-one will ever suffer as I have. No-one will suffer. No-one will suffer...
11. Justice City is now up in the Adventure Square. Your first post should be giving a brief sample of your in-character writing. If you're not sure of what to put, just take a look at my first post as an example. The structure of Justice City will be in Issues. A warning now: not everyone will be involved in every issue. This first issue involves everyone, but I believe the next issue will only feature characters who are a part of Phalanx, that's Jokopoko, Citrus and Domon. Don't worry, though, I will make sure everyone has a fair time with posting, and there should be a few issues where everyone is involved. Anyway, that's about all for now, if there are any questions then please don't hesitate to pos them here. I don't want any OOC's within the actual thread. Oh, yes, also, as soon as I have come up with a story to open it, I will begin the Justice City Library, and I will probably charge someone else with sorting out the Art Studio threads. If anyone is able to sort these out then please PM me. Thank you.
12. A voice came to Shadow. It didn't seem to come from any one place in particular, but it was resounding loudly in his head. He turned around and around, trying to find where it was coming from, but there was no sign of anything nearby. He managed to pick something up in the voice. A single word, being repeated over and over again. He concentrated hard, trying to pick up the single word. Abra... Abra? What the hell was that? He flipped open his Pokedex and jabbed at the keyboard, typing in the word "Abra." It beeped and flashed for a moment, and then said: Abra. A psychic Pokemon. Using its ability to read minds, it will identify impending danger and teleport to safety. Is often found hiding in grassland areas. Grassland, eh? Then it must be somewhere nearby. Shadow took out another pokeball, and hunted around in the grass. Something brown and furry caught his eye, and with lightning-fast reactions, he hurled the pokeball at it. A flash of red light told him he had caught the Pokemon. Congratulations. You have captured an Abra. You might be fast at teleporting, little friend, but nobody's faster than Shadow, the hedgehog thought, picking up the pokeball triumphantly.
13. Justice City Welcome to Justice City, a City where crime runs amok like the filth that lines the gutters. A thriving metropolis by day, but by night it becomes something infinitely different and much, much fouler. As soon as the sun goes down, Justice City becomes a dark underworld of criminals, both organised and disorganised. Thugs and biker gangs rule the streets, while megalomaniac mob bosses and directors of corrupt corporations rule the upper levels. And then there are the super-villains. From mad scientists to villains with powers that are literally earth-shattering, these super-villains are essentially in control of the night. So, Justice City needs heroes. Every city, from Metropolis to Gotham has their own heroes, and now Justice City needs YOU. I protect it from all the scum, all the criminals, everyone who does wrong in this city. He sat on top of a building, crouched on the corner, ready to pounce. The cold night air whipped through his hair, throwing it into odd styles. He took a deep breath in. The air was good in his lungs, no matter about the tang of oil and the pollution that it was thick with. Down below, a group of thugs with weapons, raiding a bank. The weapons looked more high-tech than the ones criminals usually used around Justice City. They must have gotten them from somewhere...outside of the usual channels. He leapt from the building, slowing his descent with his telekinesis, and he dropped gracefully, and silently, to the floor. No-one around would care if they saw a man leap from the roof of a building. That kind of thing happened every night in Justice City. He crept up behind the first man, and, still silent, held his hand out. He concentrated, and his glaive formed in his hand, made from pure psychic energy. He smiled, and ran the blade through the first thug. He collapsed, not dead, no blood showing, but he would be unconscious for a while. The second thug turned to talk to the first, and saw Justice the moment before he sliced his blade across the man's throat, shutting down his brain function for a second, dropping him into unconsciousness. The next two thugs weren't taking any notcie either, but the last saw Justice and took a shot at him. The weapon, instead of firing a stream of bullets as Justice had assumed it would, it fired a bright green beam of laser. He only just had time to erect a psionic barrier before the beam made contact. He then thrust his hands forward and sent the barrier hurtling towards the thug. As it hit him, he was thrown backwards into the wall of the bank. He was knocked out immediately. Justice gathered them into a pile and bound them psionically. The bonds would not appear to anyone else, but they would not be able to break through them. That should hold them until the police arrive, thought Justice. He turned to leave, when something huge came barreling into him. He was struck in the small of the back, and was thrown across the street, into a streetlight. The lamp buckled as he collided with it, and then he sank to the floor. "You think you can interrupt my bank-job, hero?" snarled a voice. Justice looked at the source of the voice, and saw a huge man, much bigger than the usual human, his muscles rippling, bursting through the vest he wore. His skin was crimson, and he seemed to be pretty strong. Great, thought Justice, That's all I need. Another super-powered moron trying to get rich quick. "You're gonna die, hero!" he rasped, and then ran full pelt at Justice, who simply lifted himself into the air, sending the human tank straight underneath him. He smiled as the huge guy smashed headfirst into a concrete wall. Justice then threw a telekinetic bubble around the muscle-man, and hurled him into the air. As he reached the peak of the height, the bubble disappeared, and he crashed back to earth, smashing straight through the asphalt, leaving a huge crater in the ground. Justice sighed and threw some telekinetic bonds around him as well, jabbing him sharply with the glaive just in case he woke up before the police arrived. He took off into the night sky, surrouned by an aura of shimmering red light. Another night, another crime prevented.
14. Ok, Starwind is in. I like your character, he's a bit different to a lot of the others.
anything I can do to get on that list
digiX, a prime example of why you didn't make it onto the list. Your grammar, punctuation and general writing skills were just not quite up to scratch. And I could let you in if you improved them, but ask yourself this: would it really be fair to the other players who didn't get in? So a new addition to the cast list is: Starwind aka Black Barrel EDIT: JUSTICE CITY IS NOW UP IN THE ADVENTURE SQUARE. ANYONE ELSE WHO STILL WISHES TO SIGN UP WILL BE ADDED TO THE CAST LIST AT A LATER DATE. YOU HAVE UNTIL WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 28 TO SIGN UP. AFTER THAT, THIS THREAD WILL BE CLOSED.
15. Stalking his way through the Safari Zone wasn't Shadow's idea of great fun. He was bored, seeing as he hadn't caught a single Pokemon since his early victory. He rounded a corner and bumped into someone. "Shadow?!" said a voice, "Funny seeing you here!" He looked up and saw that he had just bumped into Lara. He smiled and backed away a few steps. "Hey, Lara, how's it going?" he asked, "You caught many yet?" "Now, Shadow, that would be telling. So how are the guys?" "Pretty good. This new team's not as fun as the Adventurers, but I guess I can cope. How are the Heroines?" "Very...girly," replied Lara with a devilish smile. "Well, I guess I'll catch you later, then," said Shadow, walking away. He wiped his forehead. That could have gotten awkward. He was about to turn and shout something to her, when something huge flew over his head. He ducked, and it only just missed him. He whipped out his Pokedex and pointed it at the Pokemon. Charizard, it said, A dangerous, fire-breathing Pokemon that is the evolved form of Charmander. Be careful of its flaming tail and fiery breath. Brilliant, thought Shadow, So I miss out on dragons in the earlier round, so now I get to face one here. He whipped out a Pokeball and hurled it at the dragon. It struck it on the head, and just before it disappeared into the ball, it unleashed a blast of fiery breath at Shadow. He leapt out of the way, and then went to pick up his Pokeball. Congratulations. You have captured a Charizard. "Too bloody right I did," muttered Shadow, walking away...
16. I would suggest that everybody (in the Heroes, at least) should put in the titles of their posts how many pokeballs the team has left and how many each character has left. It might just help in letting us get through this a little easier. I also suggest that each and every one of us reads every post through thoroughly, otherwise this could just end in confusion. Take in what Pokemon each person captures, as well as how many pokeballs each team has left. It will just make this challenge a lot easier on all of us.
17. "But then again, that little mouse-thing said there was only one of each type. So I guess we would be safe splitting up and going separate ways. What do you guys think?" said Shadow. "I t'ink dis challenge is damn foo', bu' we gotta splid up anywayz, I ain' hangin' wit' dis roden' no more!" said CJ, gesturing towards Shadow. "Did you understand any of that?" asked Crash, "Coz I sure as hell didn't. Anyway, we gotta split up and find these little critters, otherwise another one of us is gonna be deleted. I say we move out. All for that idea?" the rest of the group all raised their hands, "Alright. Let's go." Shadow moved into what was apparently called "The Safari Zone," treading carefully, on the look-out for these little "Pokemon." He rounded a corner covered by a large bush, and heard something rustling in the bushes. He looked around carefully, and saw what looked like a dog sniffing around in the bushes. "Come here, there's a good boy," he said, stroking the dog's back. It removed it's head from the bush, and looked at Shadow, who continued stroking it's back. It then opened it's mouth, and a stream of fire issued forth, just missing Shadow, but burning his eyebrows off. "That's it!" he said, enraged, "You're not getting away now!" He took one of the twenty pokeballs he had been given and hurled it at the dog. It struck it on the bag, and immediately the dog turned into red light and was sucked into the small metal ball. Shadow picked it up and looked at it, impressed. "Not bad," he said, and took off in search of more of the little things. Congratulations, his "Pokedex" said in a mechanical voice, You have captured a Growlithe.
18. I have a question: is there 1 of every Pokemon in the Safari Zone? Is that all 200-odd of them from the extended versions, or is it jut the original 150? Once I have had this question answered, I will begin posting.
19. Ok, sign-ups are still gonna be open for a little while, but here is the cast list so far: Wraith aka "Justice" kenshinsbabe aka "Mystaire/M" Doukeshi aka "Warp" Sakura aka "Shadow" Jokopoko aka "Centurion" Outlaw aka "Maverick/TopGun" Citrus aka "Angel" vicky aka "Dark Matter" 0ber0n the Neko aka "Dragon Force" MajinVegeta aka "The Hunter" Domon aka "Diamond" shadowofdeath13 aka "Charon" DeathKnight aka "Ratana" KKC aka "The Spark/Sparky" Gavin aka "Maze" (provided sign-up is finished) sand dragon 19 aka "Aira" Wow that's a big cast list. And, like I said, sign-ups are still open for anyone else who wants to join. I should be starting this in the next couple of days, but sign-ups will stay open a little longer. Also, coming soon is the Justice City Library, in the Anthology, where anyone who has been accepted can post literature about their character. And then, after that will come the Justice City Art Gallery and the Justice City Portrait Gallery, in the Art Studio and Art By Request forums respectively, where you can post request for banners etc featuring your characters, and also to post any artwork relating to Justice City. But in the meantime, keep those sign-ups coming!
20. Ok, firstly, with the current number of people signed up, I will only allow 1 more hero team, other than Phalanx. I may stretch that number if more people join. And Joko, the number of people who are in Phalanx is three including yourself. So you can take one more as well as Citrus. If anyone is interested in creating another hero team, then please post ideas here. If more than one hero team is suggested, I will choose which one is final.
21. Katima quickly wiped her eyes and turned to the door. Kalei stood there, looking towards them hopefully. "Sorry," said Katima, "What was that?" "Have either of you seen Tegan or Jade?" Kalei repeated. Talyn stood up, shaking his head, and walked over to the door. "I haven't seen either of them, and I don't think Katima has either. She hasn't been wandering around too much. But can I talk to you quickly?" he said. "Of course, Talyn," replied Kalei, and she led Talyn to an empty room along the corridor, "What is it?" she asked, sitting him down. "It's just...this dream I had last night...it kinda scared me...and I wanted to know if you thought it meant anything..." "Tell me about it." "Well, all of us were there, and it was snowing, it was near a woods I think, it looked like Eastern Europe somewhere. We were fighting some vampires, but they must have been a lot stronger than the ones we usually fight. Basically...they killed us all...they left me till last and made me watch as one of them beat you to death...and the thing was...I recognised the one who killed most of us. So that's why I came down to the library, to look up who it was...and then I found out it was..." "Who?" "Malik..." he said, "I'm sorry, Kalei, but its what I saw. It was only a dream anyway, it probably didn't mean anything..." "Never say that, Talyn. Nothing is meaningless. If you're having prophetic dreams then I think we should look further into it. Come and see me tonight, and I'll get you started on something which could help us look further into it," she said comfortingly. Talyn nodded. "Thank you, Kalei," he said, and hugged her. She got up and walked away, leaving Talyn to think things through. He walked slowly back to the library, finding that Katima was no longer there. He put his books away, and then decided to go down to the training room.
22. Well, I was thinking of having entirely new characters, with a couple of cameos from existing characters. I have written out a storyline, which both Citrus and Ezekiel seem to like, so I can PM it to you if you want to have a closer look. As always, your observations are welcome, so please continue posting here.
23. Ok, I'm sorry I mentioned it. Admittedly, we did kinda lose out somewhat on the range of different abilites used. I'm sure we could probably have done a lot better if we had put our minds to it, but it was difficult as we had such a short time-frame to work in. And I guess we would probably have lost a member anyway, if KKC decided to pull out herself. It was a fair victory, heroines, I just hope we can make it back on the next challenge. And Des, if we're going for the balls, Samus may have one giant ball, but between our team we have (I hope) 10 of the things. And anyway, size doesn't matter.
24. "Stupid zombies..." muttered Shadow, "Stupid heroines...stupid Fox...I hate this. We have to win the next one, guys!" "The li'l rodent's righ', foo's. We gotta pick up da slack, we gotta do the best we can from now on, or we ain't gettin' nuthin' outta dis!" replied CJ, speaking to the group as a whole. "So-a, its-a decided," said Mario bouncily, "We go full-a out-a on the next-a challenge!" "Yeah!" shouted Crash. They all looked at Kuja expectantly. He was leaning on a doorframe, and when he noticed they were looking at him, he raised his hand without any real conviction, and said: "Go team," rather unenthusiastically. The rest of the team then decided it was too late, and they all needed some sleep. They would need their energy for the next challenge, and who knew what that little furry thing could come up with next?
25. Superhero Name: Justice Real Name: Alexander Trelawney Current Occupation: Lawyer Place of Birth: Justice City, USA Marital Status: Single Height: 5'11" Weight: 165 lbs Hair Colour: Hazel with a white streak in the fringe Hair Length: Short, styled into a messy kind of look Clothing: Everyday: Being a lawyer, Alex tends to wear smart business suits, usually soft pastel-colour shirts, with ties that don't clash. Outside of work, he wears jeans and a t-shirt, generally, a dress shirt if he is going out. Hero: When he takes the form of Justice, he wears these clothes, except change the blue for black and the yellow for red. Personality: When at work as a lawyer, Alex is friendly, cool, chatty, and a nice guy to be around. He makes jokes, has a lot of friends, and is generally pretty happy. But this masks a tough interior. He believes that crime needs stopping, and that he has been given the gift to do it with, so it is his sworn duty. He believes there is not such thing as time off from this, and he sees it more as a duty than a career. He takes it seriously, and will stop at nothing to wipe out crime. Some of his methods are frowned upon, as he occasionally tkaes crime-fighting too far. Character History: To be revealed in the RP Superhuman Powers: Telekinesis, which shows itself in the form of blasts of red energy. He can use this either as blasts of telekinetic energy to throw objects (as well as people) around, or in the traditional sense, to move objects around with precision. He has mastered this talent, and as such he is now concentrating on using the telepathy that has emerged from his mind. Source of Powers: Unknown, possibly benevolent mutation Special skills: Justice is highly acrobatic, and very limber, allowing him to use his body efficiently. His strength, speed and agility have also been slightly increased due to his powers. Weapons/Gadgets: Justice can create a bladed spear (similar to a glaive) from the pure psychic energy in his mind. When it makes contact, this weapon does not kill, it simply shuts down brain function for a moment, knocking his opponent out. However, this does not work if the opponent has a particularly strong mind. If you know of Cable's "Psimitar" in X-Men, then this is the general idea. All of you have done exceptionally well with your sign-ups. There are a few other people who I know will be signing up, so I will wait for them to post a list of who is accepted and who is not. Anyone else is also free to join, and the sign-up date will probably go on after I have started the RP. Thank you all for expressing interest.
