1. Spoiler The main reason is it will give the ending of MSG where Zeon loses the war. However, since CN is not showing MSG, why don't they show the Last Resort. End Spoiler

Gundam

Depending on what you are looking for, Gundam X is not for everyone. For me, it is the best alternative universe. It has a more UC like feel and some of the best developed characters of all AU.

80

0080 is made in late 80's. It was release in 1989 for the 10th anniversary of MSG. Therefore, the animation should be up to date. It has 6 esp. only and is considered to be the best OVA by many. The story is about war and it's effect on people, especially children. A very touch story about what Gundam supposes to mean.
6. F91 is supposed to be a 49 episode series, but it is cut short to a 2 hour movie. It got a lot of potential but how much can you get out from 2 hours? Anyway, it is still a very decent movie with good mechas and interesting plot. After watching it, I just think they should make it to the series or at least an OVA. It has a great start but a lot of detail are cut in order to make it into a movie. It have to watch it twice to understand it and three times to fall in love with it. If you are a Gundam fan (especially UC), it is worth to watch. For a summary of the story, check out http://www.gundamproject.com.
7. There are some similarities shared by many Gundam series. However, there are more differences between them as well. There are a lot of similarities in Mobile Suit Gundam (First Gundam) and Gundam Wing as Gundam Wing is loosely based on Mobile Suit Gundam. It tries to re-tell the story of MSG, Zeta and CCA in a different way (but didn't do a good job anyway). If anyone think all Gundam series are the same, tries to watch a few more before making a judgment. There are 13 different "animated" series/movies. They can't be all the same.:wigout:
8. Well, Gundam X has a great story. It is my favorite AU anyway. I have watched all 39 Eps. 3 times already and going to watch it for the 4 time. However, Z and ZZ (all other UCs) are definitely different from any AU. I would say they are equally good. It is just personal perference.
9. Zeta Gundam takes place in UC 0087, 7 years after the end of One year war in MSG (0079). For many Gundam fan, including myself, Zeta is the best Gundam series ever with great characters, plot and mecha design. It tells the story of Camille Vidan, a 16 year old newtype fighting in the war between AEUG (Anit-Earth Unified Government), Titans (Branch of Earth Federation) and Zeon. Gundam ZZ takes place in UC 0088, following the story of Zeta Gundam with a new set of characters and mechas. However, it has a much lighter tone than the epic setting of Zeta. Some of the characters and events can be considered as childish in the first half of the series. After about 20 eps., the story starts to pick up the "normal" Gundam feel. It is still worth seeing for any Gundam fan, especially UC fan.
10. I have not post here for a long time... Anyway, here is the info: Mobile Suit Gundam has 43 episodes. It was originally planned for 49 but had to cut short due to low rating back in 1979. The 3 movies are made from the 43 episodes. After several re-run on TV, the show becomes so popular that a number of sequences are made. Hope this clears it up.
