Anime Couldn't DragonBall Z's animation be better ?
JCBaggee replied to Pagan's topic in Otaku Central
Keep in mind that early DBZ episodes were made quite a while ago. That's pretty good animation for one of its age. --Chris -
Yes, and its one of those guilty pleasures for one my age, much like the old Superman and Batman toons. The new take on the characters is pretty good, but sometimes I just wish they could feature a bit more of the history similar to the comics. This is aimed at a whole new generation of comic fans, and its kinda tough to seperate the new stuff from the actual history down the road. --Chris

I'm gonna have to say Frieza saga. The Android Saga would have been better, but the SSJ transformation had lost its glory by then, IMO, seeing as how everyone was transforming. I really wish they'd gone with Toriyama's original plan, and ended the series with Frieza Saga. --Chris

'bout time they started airing those DBZ movies. They've only been out for years...though I don't understand why they're skipping Movie 4 and going straight to 5... DBGT is kinda mixed reactions for me. I'm not surprised it got moved up, but its surprising their moving it up to this soon. Plus, a Friday's only schedule is a first for a Dragon Ball series on Toonami, so maybe they're trying to drag it out more and/or don't expect it to do so well.....? --Chris

*Gets more excited about ASM* I was already looking forward to this...but now.. *drools* EDIT: Commenting on the Harry/Hobgoblin/Green Goblin deal.. For Harry Osborn to become the Green Goblin for the sequel is a bad idea. You're pretty much going to get the same thing you got for the first one. Think about it. Harry became the Green Goblin when
he found Peter's Spidey costume, learned his fathers secret, etc., etc.
. It needs to happen eventually, but lets take our time with it, span it over a few movies. That way, a new Goblin can show up in one movie, and people who don't read the comics won't even see it coming. --Chris

I'll be starting at a little technical college in October. I'm doing a Dual Associate Degree track, meaning in two and a half years I'll have Associate Degrees in Network Management and Web Design. Yes, that's good. --Chris

CN never finished the complete run of earlier episodes because they aired the new ones. So, having run the end of DBZ several times, they did a favor to fans and newbies by going back and finishing up the run. For once, a good call from CN regarding the series. --Chris

All that is honorable and chivalrous is worth fighting for. But, what then, is honorable and chivalrous. Love, friendship, peace, the future, and (most importantly) hope. Whatever one believes in their heart and soul is what they must fight for, no matter what the cost to themselves. --Chris

Cowboy Bebop and Trigun were Sub-Forums of Anime Lounge at one point, but no one really posted in them. As such, when the sub forums collapse, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun just sort of melded in with Anime Lounge. There have been several people suggest they be brought back, but there really isn't enough activity to justify them. Seriously, look at AL. Considering the size of the membership base, there aren't many topics regarding the two series. --Chris

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
JCBaggee replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by rawl28 the line-up is really: monday-thursday: 11:00 - Futurama 11:30 - Family Guy 12:00 - Kikiader 12:30 - Inu Yahsa 1:00 - Reign 1:30 - Lupin 3 it says so on adultswim.com
Starting this week, yes. Which makes no sense. Cowboy Bebop was ready to go, but Trigun's barely been run. It'll probably be back before too long. --Chris -
Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
JCBaggee replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Monday thru Thursday is... 11--Futurama 11: 30--Family Guy 12--Kikaider 12:30--Inuyasha 1--Trigun 1:30--Cowboy Bebop And Sunday is... 11--Home Movies 11:30--Harvey Birdman 11:45--Aqua Teen Hunger Force 12--Sealab 2021 12:15--Space Ghost: Coast to Coast 12:30--Oblongs 1--Reign: The Conqueror 1:30--Lupin the Third So, they didn't take them off of Adult Swim, they jsut aired more than comedy on the Sunday night lineup. --Chris -
I've been watching it, and I must say, I'm impressed. The animation is a little odd, but the plot makes up for it. Oh, a fun tid bit: this is based off an old Sentai (live action) series of the same name. --Chris

Technically, as said before, GT has been over for years. We're just now getting it in America though. It's not airing on CN until next year, but the tapes have gotten up to the arrival of Bebi Vegeta. Of course, we also skipped the first 16 eps -_- Bottom line they're stressing, dear: the Dragon Ball Saga is over, but I would hope 300+ episodes would tide you over for life. --Chris

I wanted to like "Reign: The Conqueror". No, really, I did. The idea of an anime about the exploits of Alexander the Great is a wonderful concept, the overall execution was, in my opinion, rather insulting. The animation was too detailed. Everyone looked like they had an extra 10 pairs of ribs, and no one wore pants except for Cleytus. The voice acting left a bit to be desired, especially since half the cast did voice for the top notch "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust". I also hated the way that all the technology was advanced several hundred years, stealing away from what little realism there already was. The length was another downside for me; 13 episodes just isn't enough for a decent story. In short, Reign had a lot of potential, but packing that much into so few episodes really took things down. It was not horrible; I'm sure there are worse anime out there. And I'll be sure to let you know when I see them ^_~ --Chris

I belive it's mentioned somewhere that posts should be as clear as possible. However, as was mentioned before, this can't be forced. Some members just can't use correct grammar, either because they choose not to or they don't know how. --Chris

No. Brolli only appears in a few of the movies. --Chris

Geez, not only did the forum get out of hand, so did the campaign to get rid of it. But, I will admit, that was some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a while. --Chris

Love the new Christian bands and whatnot coming out these days! They've got the great, alternative sound with the same beautiful words. Oh, I doubt anyone has, but who here listens to Lost And Found? --Chris

Anime The Official Dragonball GT Dub Thread.
JCBaggee replied to Jinzouningen17's topic in Otaku Central
Well, the dub voices would be dead on then, since
Goku is wished to be a child, Trunks has aged to the same age as Mirai no Trunks, and Pan is supposed to be a tough 12 year old.
Either way, ya should have bought subs ^_^ --Chris -
The violence, action, and sexuality of X2 is a bit stronger than X-Men, but it's still nothing too bad. As for Cyclops, he was the first X-Man to be recruited by Prof. Xavier after his parents were seemingly killed in a plane accident (his brother Alex, known as Havoc, survived as well). His powers activated while they fell and cushioned the fall, but the accident damaged the part of his brain that controls his powers, hence they are permanetly "on". He's a very straight forward young man, who is openly in love with Jean Grey, and serves as the natural leader of the X-Men. --Chris
