w00t! Square finally did the PS1 re-release of Final Fantasy 1 and 2 with "Final Fantasy Origins". It's a one disc game featuring the original versions of FF 1 & 2, along with added CGI cutscenes and some extended story scenes, and I believe there's some bonus material too. The game is currently available everywhere, and will cost ya around $29.99. --Chris

Great show, though I'm still a little annoyed by their "attempt" at explaining Shannon Doherty's replacement -_- Unfortunatly, I'm afraid I haven't watched it enough to help ya. Sorry ^_^ --Chris

A fairly decent spoof of old Kung Fu flicks, but seriously lacking on some parts. However, after watching the end credits and seeing how hard it must have been to add Steve *Insert-Weird-Name-Here* and the other actors, I have a bit more respect for it. --Chris

Cowboy Bebop is an amazing series, and it's quite interesting even after watching it once, but I think saying it's the "greatest anime" is going a little too far. I haven't seen that many, and if definatly ranks up there as one of the best, but I'm sure there are better series' out there. --Chris

I love "Seven Nation Army"...it's so darn catchy, and the video is great. BTW, be sure to pick up "Elephant". After all, Rolling Stone gave it a 5 Star review...surely that counts for something. --Chris

There were lots of names of mutants on the computer. Here's the rundown from The Big List Of Movie Mistakes... "Keniucho Harada is The Silver Samurai; Garrison Kane is Kane from the Weapon X program; Remy LeBeau is Gambit; Eric Lansherr is Magneto, though it is supposed to be spelt Erik; Artie Maddicks is Big Eyes; Jamie Madrox is Multiple Man; Xi'an Coy Mahn is Karma; Maximoff (2) are the brother and sister Pietro and Wanda, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch of the Avengers, both are the children of Magneto; Kevin McTaggart is Proteus, Son of Moira McTaggart; Danielle Moonstar is Mirage, Psyche; Ororo Munroe is obviously Storm; Franklin Richards (You only see the "Lin Richards" clearly), the son of Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic) and the Invisible Woman (Sue Richards)." Also, there were two folders on the computer. One was entitled "Omega Red" (Wolverine's enemy) and the other was "Muir Island" (home to X-Man Banshee)
--Chris

My condolences. Drinking and smoking probably won't help much, but take your time and work through this as you feel you need to...we're here if you need someone to talk to. --Chris

Actually, I think "Super Botuden 3" is one of the many Dragon Ball Z fighting games for the PS1, though it was only released in Japan. I could be wrong, though. --Chris

I saw X2 earlier today 0_0 The special effects are amazing...Lady Deathstrike's claws, Nightcrawlers teleports (complete with a BAMF!) and so much more, including Lady Deathstrike's gruesome end, were wonderful. And the oh-so-symbolic...uh...symbol...at the end was a perfect touch to leave me begging for X3 (which better come really dang quick!). It was nice to see Logan evolve too. I know it's the charachter, but the "I don't care about anything I'm leaving" attitude of the first one was kinda stale. It was also nice to see his and Cyclops' banter continue, and then reveal the softer side at the end. Jean dealing with her evolving powers (a result of the Liberty Island mission in X-Men) was a nice touch for the charachter, and her decisions in the end really made it an emotional ending. Professor X kidnapped, however, is way overdone to the common readers of the comics...good thing the movie dealt with it by adding twists, surprises, and other goodies. Adn then there's Nightcrawler, who surprised me. The charachter remained completely intact (well, for the most part). He was quirky, polite, enigmatic, and constantly begging God for forgiveness...just the way we like the fuzzy elf. If X3 takes advantage of the friendship between Nightcrawler and Logan in the comics, it could very interesting. --Chris

Anime Do you think Pan should be able to turn Super Saiyan?
JCBaggee replied to pbfrontmanvdp's topic in Otaku Central
*head goes POP!* Mr. Toriyama has stated on numerous occasions that, for some odd genetic reason, female Saiya-Jins do not have the benefit of the Super Saiya-Jin transformations, or (I believe) the Oozaru transformations. By the time Pan was born, the power level standard was seriously bumped up a notch, and when you consider her parents, heritage and instructors, it's fairly obvious she would have turned Super Saiya-Jin if possible. --Chris -
Acting is my first talent. There's nothing I love better than being able to lose myself in a phenomonal charachter. My second would be web design. Anyone who's seen my site will (hopefully) back me up. And, finally, I have an uncanny ability to remember the most trivial of knowledge. I can't tell you about the Periodic Table, but I can probably tell you what happened in episode "x" of TV show "y". *sigh....I'm such a loser... --Chris

The problem I see is the visual aspect. Will the hairstyles and energy waves really communicate that well? While I believe that it is possible to do this movie with today's effects, it will be really friggin' expensive. --Chris

"...and I'll form...the head!" God, Voltron is great ^_^ I remember watching it when it came on Sci Fi channel early in the mornings, and later when Toonami brought it back in 97. I've heard rumors lately too that the recent wave of '80s comics will spark a Voltron comic, probably courtesy of Image Comics. Hopefully it'll come out pretty good. --Chris

Love is not an emotion you can describe, but a state of mind. It's not when you feel comfortable or constantly think of someone, but when you literally feel you cannot live without them. To be in love is to realize you and that person are truly one being, inseperable to the end. And it's really confusing if you're not careful V.V --Chris

Anime How do you feel about the Mainstreaming of Anime...
JCBaggee replied to a topic in Otaku Central
On the plus side, there's....well, me! You never would have met me if not for mainstreaming of anime, and I'm proud to say I'm getting into subs as we speak ^_^ On the other side, there's the e-mails I keep getting from my web sites visitors asking about Dragon Ball AF and other stupid, pointless questions. Good? Bad? Nah, somewhere in between... --Chris -
The Shawshank Redemption (no spoilers! ^_^ )
JCBaggee replied to Dragonballzman's topic in Noosphere
Awesome movie. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman work great together, and the work to preserve the feel of the film's time is remarkable. A great plot with a wonderful cast. --Chris -
Anime How did Fat Buu get the healing power?
JCBaggee replied to SS5 Gogeta's topic in Otaku Central
Some possible theories... 1) Buu absorbed two Kai's. You'll remember that Kibito had the ability to heal people, so someone in Other World knows this technique. Someone could have easily taught that to one of the previous Kai's. When Buu absorbed them, the power could have been transferred to him. 2) Buu has the ability to regenerate and heal himself, so all he had to do was learn how to transfer that ability to another person. Surely not too hard, even for Buu. Simply put, no one really knows. It's another great, unanswered mystery of Dragon Ball that will probably never be solved. --Chris -
Thank you for posting those pictures. I now know that there is a hell on this world. Thank you, and farewell. *dies* --Chris

I've read about this movie and the several changes. Apparently, they couldn't get the actual rights to make a movie based on Dragon Ball, so they just changed key things. Goku is known as the Monkey King and the Dragon Balls become the Dragon Pearls. God, I hope I heard wrong... --Chris

Charachter: Squall Leonhart Game: Final Fantasy VIII Bio: Aspiring to become a SeeD, Squall Leonhart went to Balamb Garden at the age of 10. It was there he was instructed by Quistis Trepe and met his rival, Seifer Almasy, the only other student besides Squall to use a Gunblade, a sword with a gun for a handle; making the weapon extremely difficult to master. Usually keeping to himself, Squall is seen by others as a brooding, uncaring jerk who only cares about himself. Having this image is just fine with him. --Chris

Technically, the first anime I actually saw was "Vampire Hunter D", when CN aired it in the early '90s. I remember struggling so hard to stay up late enough to watch it. However, years later, while watching Thundercats, I noticed an ad that said "Has Goku Become....A SUPER SAIYAN?!" Like so many before me, I was intrigued and hooked. So, I watched, and got really into it. A few years later, I realized how many other anime I had seen (VHD, Ronin Warriors, Speed Racer) and have been watching Anime ever since. --Chris
