So, Twitter is down and has been for a while, as they defend against a denial of service attack. I haven't posted on OB in a while, but came to post this because I've got one burning question: holy crap, what exactly did we do before Twitter? The Internet feels kinda empty right now :\ --Christopher

Its been pretty much confirmed that last Wednesday (May 20t) was Tennant's last day on set :( They're saying
The Doctor's next regeneration could occur as early as the next special
. I'm sad to see Tennant go. I just recently got into the series, and while it was difficult to adjust to Tennant, he won me over by the time I was done with The Girl In The Fireplace. Regardless of how Matt Smith does, Moffat taking over the series inspires a lot of faith that this is still going to be a fantastic series. --Christopher

I cried when
Aeris died. (Is this really a spoiler now? Oy. I don't know, just to be safe.) Not because it was a heartbreaking moment or anything; do you know how much time and money I had just spent on her!? And then she leaves the strongest materia in the game at the bottom of a lake. Jeez.
Also, I just started playing "Lost Odyssey", and the first entry in the 1,000 Years of Dreams bit had me tearing up a bit. --Christopher

Sandwiches, the best thing made WITH sliced bread
JCBaggee replied to Jabberwocky's topic in General Discussion
Wheat bread, turkey, cheese, mayo, mustard, and a bit of ground black peppercorn. Occasionally lightly buttered and grilled, because I am awesome. --Chris -
GeoCities was, I think, the third host I had back when The Homeworld was The Anime Homeworld. Decent enough free webhost, but the lack of FTP and the ads they've recently started were pretty bad in my opinion. It will be sad to see them go. Do Angelfire and TriPod still offer free hosting? Also, holy crap, Otaku Pike. Update that, sir. --Chris

We've been recording our PodCast (we call it the StinkKast) for about a year now, and its a blast. Just wanted to chime in on the format mainly. 20-30 min. a month feels a little lax. We based ours on the format of most other sites, and that seems to be an 30-60 min. a week. Granted, those are mainly informal. If you're looking to do a serious, more formal podcast that may work, but if you get 2 or 3 people together who genuinely enjoy yukking it up with each other, you'll kill an hour a week in no time. --Chris

I think I'm an orphan. Hell, I'm pretty sure the people I would have called family have mostly disappeared from here. This isn't going to lead back into that fad of users getting "married", is it? --Chris

Haha, yeah, they're rimless. Only got them because I was working at an optical shop and the frame and lenses were free. --Chris -
I stumbled across these a few months ago, and I've got to say I genuinly enjoy them. Yahtzee is funny and cynical while still remaining somewhat informative, even if he does appear to be biased towards "MuhMorPuhGrrs" and multi-player games; granted, I am too, so it works out well. He's a spot-on reviewer who shares my point of view. What's not to love? --Chris

But here's a picture I took a few months ago anyways. Avert your eyes! Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm sure you people remember, but I think this is the first pic of me I've posted in my 7 or so years I've been registered on this forum. And yes, I posted actively for several of those years =p --Chris -
I watched Season 1 and really enjoyed it...caught the Season 2 premiere and finale and don't seem to have missed much. Now I'm in Season 3 and...I don't know. It feels samey. New York exploding? Check. Going to the future to find the answers? Check. Characters being relative idiots to make the plot advance easier? Double check. I'll probably stick with it, because of the interesting ideas they've got so far for this season, but overall I think the Heroes "phenomenon" is pretty well over. --Chris

Mmeh. I've calmed down as a fanboy in recent years and grown to accept that many changes in movies are for the best. But this one...this bothers me. I'm willing to give it a shot, and it is perhaps too early to pass judgment based ona teaser trailer...but Dragon Ball does not look promising so far.

Uh, this is one of those threads that I could just post a long, long list of user names and tell you all the great people and conversations that I miss. Arguably, I could post regularly again, but writing sucks up my time and the fact that I know pretty much no one here anymore doesn't help much. Can I be known as one of the first people to just burn out on OB? --Chris

Shhh, he's listening. If he gets word of that, we'll be accused of training to become barbarians or something. --Chris

What, no YouTube video of the fight? Coulda set it to "Duel Of The Fates" and everything. Sadness. Ah well. Tell Joe we said hi. --Chris

Careful Jack! If you tick off enough gamers, we'll train up on our murder simulators and come get you!! Seriously, how is this blowhard still credible enough to make it in the news? Guess I really shouldn't talk, since I made him the villain of my web comic, heh. --Chris

Jesus, that just sounds like an episode of Friends, doesn't it? I personally recommend the Figure 4 Leglock. However, what strikes me is most amazing is that this is your ex? Jesus, you must have done something really awful to make her want to fight you like this. Be sure to let us know how this goes, assuming you can still type afterwards.
Not a friend but a school mate. She was driving past curfew on a provisional license and was speeding to make it home quicker. Something like 95-100 mph on the highway in two different speed zones (2 different tickets), which is probably why. *shrug*
Ew, yeah...that could be why. I think 25 MPH or more over the speed limit is an automatic 2 points here. --Chris
I'm just going to go out and criticise something here: Will.i.am as Kestrel? I don't really agree with that and I find it odd that Gambit would appear in a prequel of all things.
The movie seems to be full of iffy casting and bizarre predicaments. Liev Schriber playing Sabertooth (was Tyler Mane busy?) is probably one of the most absurd things I've seen as of late. --Chris

I actually just got done re-watching the majority of the reviews, and they're all (mostly) great. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is probably the best, with the PowerGlove and setting up the Atari 5200 being a close second. Next one is supposed to be up in the next week or so, and he's saying its going to be a huge review. Any ideas what it could be? --Chris

I picked up God of War: Chains of Olympus the other day with big expectations. The first two games on the PS2 rank up there as two of my favorite games, so surely this one for the PSP would be great, right? Well, yeah, pretty much. The modified control scheme works great (except for some context sensitive mini games requiring use of the analog "nub", which felt awkward), the game is beautiful, and the storyline is a fantastic addition to the back story of the franchise. What could go wrong? Then, I beat the game. ...in four hours. Yes, I dropped $40 on a PSP game that I beat in four hours. What's more, all my abilities and magic were leveled up two hours in, meaning half of the game wasn't really all that challenging. Mind you, the other games didn't take much longer to beat (6-8 hours, tops), but they were far more challenging and had a much more planned out story. This one just felt rushed, and a lot of the moments to foreshadow events in the previous two titles (such as meeting Atlas) just felt forced. Fantastic game, and I would recommend it to anyone who's a fan of the series, but I would recommend waiting for the game to drop down to the more appropriate price of $20. Or buy it used. Because as much as I love the GoW series, I really do feel kinda screwed over by this relatively non-existent playtime. --Chris

I got my first speeding ticket back in college, and it was about $90. Insurance rates didn't go up a lot, and really won't unless you're consistantly getting speeding tickets or having accidents. Also, your friend that almost lost her license, how fast was she going? I know Georgia has a point system, meaning for going so much over the limit you get a certain number of points on your license. I think if you get 3 points on your license, its revoked. --Chris
Well I can give you a list of don'ts for a baby shower (congrats By the way when are you due?)
Won't that piss off her husband, though? Not saying you shouldn't do it though. =D
Eh, I probably shouldn't be jumping out of cakes. Big guy like me, I'm more likely to eat it first. But, here ya go Tori. Just for you. --Chris; Feels kinda like the good ol' days again...
