Hey, guys- We're doing a Christmas play at my school, and I have a bit of a dilemma. We need a sound effect of a bus stopping. A few rules... 1) It must be appropriate. 2) It may feature the bus stopping, opening and closing door, then driving off again. 3) It must be free (that's a biggie!) If anyone can give me this sound, or give me a link to a website that has it, please reply here, PM me, or e-mail me. Thanks! --J.C.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
JCBaggee replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Ah, this is a good idea. Maybe it'll clean up a little clutter in the forum. --J.C. -
Hola! I was over posting on another board and noticed this. What follows is excerpts from an AOL-Time Warner Press Release... Cartoon Network today announced the acquisition of three animé series that will air during Adult Swim, its highly-rated late night block of animation for adults 18-34. The three series are Lupin the Third, Reign and Trigun. Lupin the Third follows the adventures of the greatest thief in the world. Lupin is a globetrotting crook, as well as a suave gentleman. Aided by two partners, expert marksman Jigen and samurai master Goemon, Lupin's mad-capped adventures take him around the world stealing extraordinary treasures, helping damsels in distress, staying one step ahead of Inspector Zenigata and matching wits with rival thief, beautiful and dangerous Fujiko. Trigun takes place in the distant future on a deserted planet. Vash the Stampede is a gunfighter with a legend so ruthless he has a $60,000,000,000 bounty on his head. Entire towns evacuate at the rumor of his arrival. But the real Vash the Stampede, the enigmatic and conflicted lead character in Trigun, is more heroic, even though he usually acts like a complete idiot. Alexander the Great was the world's most powerful warrior. Reign is a 21st century science-fiction retelling of the legend of this Macedonian king. A visual masterpiece, Reign tells the story of Alexander's's triumphs through engaging characters, intricate plots and glorious battle sequences. Lupin the Third will air Monday-Thursday at 12 midnight (ET, PT), beginning Monday, January 13. Programming information for both Reign and Trigun will be announced at a later date. Whoo hoo! If this goes through, I'll finally get to see Trigun! Could anyone tell me anything about the other two series? --J.C.

Junction as much Water magic as possible to Squalls Elem-Atk-J. Let everyone else cast Water or just stand around like a useless bump on a log. Regardless, just killing one will give you 20AP, which alone is very nice. --J.C.

What's great about G Gundam is that it's offbeat, weird, and different. The whole big robots with big guns versus bigger robots with bigger guns is only good when it's done right, and even then it gets old. G Gundam is different, and a refreshing change of pace. Now, I could do without Chibidee's dubbing some days... --J.C.

Sounds great. Too bad I can't get my hand on any decent anime. Ah, well, maybe I'll join in when there's one I've seen... --J.C.

Anime Just picked up "VHD: Bloodlust"! ...and you won't believe where!
JCBaggee replied to JCBaggee's topic in Otaku Central
The whole "Anime in Wal-Mart" thing just got bigger. I walked into the same Wal-Mart the other day and noticed a few more DBZ DVD's in there, so I got to looking. One of them was "Dead Zone". The catch? Uncut. Please note, however, I did not pick up the movie. Why? Because "Dead Zone" sucked, but that's a discussion for the DB/Z/GT Forum. --J.C. -
Kevin- Are those figures still in the original packaging?! If so, send me one! It could put me through college! --J.C.

Well, now that that's done with, the games pretty easy up until the end of Disc 4...have fun. --J.C.

That's nothing... http://countingdown.com/movies/tmnt According to this, John Wuu is attached to a brand new CGI Turtles movie...a friend of mine says he read somewhere that Wuu is aiming for an "R" rating. There's pics on this site. --J.C.

I just checked your profile to see how old you are, so I could get a better grasp of what you were talking about. Let me just say don't worry. You may feel like he doesn't care about you, but I'm sure he still thinks about you a lot. I've moved around a lot in my life, and I don't talk to any of my old friends as much as I should, but we know we still think about each other. Give it time, and things will work out. Before long, you'll make new friends too, and I'm sure that you'll eventually just have one big group, so long as you don't panic and try to force yourself on anyone. Best of luck. --J.C.

They keep changing the script because they're afraid it'll be inappropriate for the 6 year old's CN aims for. Then their mom's come to CN's offices and complain and they get pretty much shut down. Welcome to Corporate America. --J.C.

Posts like this really make me hurt. I hate knowing that someone could be so heartless...surely she must realize what she's doing.

Geez, that makes no sense whatsoever. I mean, he said Galit Gun in the Saiyan Saga, so it's obviously not considered bad by FUNi...maybe the voice actor couldn't squeeze out the "Masenko-Ha!" right...

Ewww...if that's the case, he shouldn't be teaching. Period.

Okay...I'm done now. It went okay, but I got in and it turns out it wasn't over Frankenstein...it was over the Introduction to Frankenstein, an excerpt in the book which is just Mary Shelley explaining how she created the novel. The focus was mainly on Gothic Literature. I winged it pretty good, and I"m thinking this is not going to happen for a looooong time. At least, not in this class... --J.C.

Oooh, pretty map! But...uh...you need to level up before going to Edea's House on Disc 2...and save...that's all I can tell you for now. --J.C.

First off, I will see them again: I'm teaching my English class. Second, I only have 30 minutes. The movie is officially out of the question. What I do have is a summary of the novel, a short bio on Mary Shelley, and a piece on Gothic Literature, as well as 6 questions from the Lit. Book I'm going to orally review with them. I think it'll work out... --J.C.

I'm afraid you've misunderstood...this isn't a presentation...I'm actually teaching the class. But thanks...the pointers so far seem like they'll work. --J.C.

My English teacher came up to me the other day and asked me to teach a class on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. It was originally going to be Wednesday, but it's been bumped up to tomorrow and I'm ill-prepared to say the least. So, I was just wondering if you guys had any pointers...? Any help would be appreciated. --J.C.

Anime What are your favorite scenes from the new DBZ series???
JCBaggee replied to TFlover's topic in Otaku Central
Just to set this straight...this isn't a "new series". In fact, it's just new to us. Those eps aired years ago in Japan. But, I must say, most of the scenes inside of Buu did turn out to be pretty funny. --J.C. -
A few years ago, DC put out the comic series "Hawkworld". It was meant to help retell Hawkman's origin and help the charachter. Unfortunaly, the writer's screwed up somewhere and Hawkman is now the king of screwed up continuities. --J.C.

We need a few more mods for the Otaku Anime Forum.
JCBaggee replied to Domon's topic in Help & Feedback
Hey, now, let's keep in mind that we can't have too many mods though. It's really no fun if everyone's a mod...doesn't give you anything to strive for! --J.C. -
First off, I don't think it's possible to get the Lionheart on Disc 1. I'll look into it though. As for Esthar soldiers...are you in one of the Laguna flashbacks, or are you trying to reach the Dollet Comm Tower? Once you tell me, I should be able to help, but I don't even remember a Death spell occuring on Disc 1. It may be because your level is so high. --J.C.
