Match the Actor or Actress with the three movies

Actually, I used IMDB to see if Nine was even a movie. I knew Ellen was in Dr. Dolittle and Reaching Normal. So, technically, didn't research. And as for researching my question...you're kidding, right? Its a very high profile actor. But, blagh, I'm gonna stop wasting space in the thread and let the game continue... --Chris -

Ellen DeGeneres....though Nine is a Video Game, according to IMDB. Anyways. Batman Begins Lost In Space Bram Stoker's Dracula --Chris -
McG has been released from his job making "Superman 5" due to disputes over the budget. That, and his script apparently sucked. Bryan Singer is now apparently the director of "Superman V", but this comes at a cost. If Singer does make "SV", then X3 (which is to start filming next year) will either be pushed back, or a new director will be brought in. Either way, its not Burton or McG. Yay WB. Now, if only they would treat second stringers like GL with the same respect as DC's Big Three are.... --Chris

Match the Actor or Actress with the three movies

For the record, you're correct. Carlos Gallardo was the original El Mariachi in "El Mariachi", one of El's "brothers" in "Desperado" and played Max in "Bandido". I'll leave the next one for someone else though. --Chris -

Since I"m unsure as to which one to answer, I'll get 'em both. "Pulp Fiction" "Final Fantasy: Spirits Within" "Billy Madison" Its Steve Buscemi. "Bridget Jones' Diary" "Down With Love" "Chicago" That would be Rene' Zellweger. Okay, this one may be a little bit tough, but its not too terribly hard. "Desperado" "El Mariachi" "Bandido" --Chris -
In my opinion, the show went down hill after Viv's (or was his aunt Vi? Or was his mom Vi? Oh well) pregnancy. After the actress gave birth, she was let-go from the cast either because she couldn't lose the weight fast enough, or because she had to take care of her new-born baby. I'm not sure. Either way, they replaced her the following season.
Actually Manic, I remember reading some big stink about how the actress was becoming unreasonable, demanded more money, and refused to do work. You'll notice she is conveniently absent from some of her later episodes. Who knows? I could be wrong, or mis informed, but personally I liked the second Aunt Viv better. --Chris

I don't own a copy of Spider-Man 2 yet. Note the yet. While I don't have a next gen console (again....yet), I did play the X-Box version at EBGames the day I went to see the movie. I spent 10 minutes just swinging around New York. And I was sooo entertained. This game is that much fun. I didn't have much time to fool with it, as I was rushing to get set for the movie, but wow. I wish I could have taken the time to actually find some of the missions and play more with other controls, but the web swining controls were quick to learn, and the noticably missing "Fog Of Death" from the previous Spider-Man game (as well as Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Enter Electro for the PS1) is a welcome improvement. Sadly, my inexperience with the game did inadvertantly lead to the death of a window washer. Ah well. --Chris

Whoo, this topic again? Already? Hrm... Mine would be Chris. Or Jorge. Depends on whicih convenience store you're walking out of >_> (Hmmm...Ron White does that one better...) --Chris

I have to agree Balmon, the first few episodes just didn't have the same appeal. Its a bit obvious that some of the cast were still getting used to a sitcom format. Now, mind you, I'm not saying those episodes are bad...they're still great, but the show just got better as time progressed. --Chris

While this is a nice idea, admit it...do you read all the little screens that pop up when you register somewhere? And if you saw a "How this site works" page, how many of said members would really read it? All you can really do is catch 'em as they come on the forums, and tell them as they go. Spam is just something you have to live with. And, by the way, saying this is all newbies is like blaming everything in high school on the freshman. You were once a newbie yourself, as were all of us. --Chris

The most memorable movie moment for me would have to be the infamous Torture Scene from Reservoir Dogs, in which
Mr. White (Micheal Madsen) tortures a cop for information on a police informant among them by slashing him with a razor, then using the razor to cut off his ear, and pourting gasoline all over him. He was going to set him on fire, but Mr. Orange (Tim Roth) shot White and revealed to the cop that he was the informant.
All set to Stealer's Wheel's "Stuck In the Middle With You"...that song made that scene. Seriously. Also, Steve Buscemi's opening scene from "Desperado" was fantastic, in which
Buscemi overhypes the legend of El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) to intimidate the patrons of a bar.
Oof, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" had hundreds of 'em, most notably the Black Knight scene, and Sir Launcealot's intro. Memorable Lines....oof, I"ve got a hundred of 'em... "Let me ask you a question. A little something I ask...all my victims. Tell me...have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" --The Joker, "Batman" "I ate his liver with some fava beans...and a nice kiante." --Hannibal Lecter, "The Silence Of The Lambs" "She's a witch!" "A witch?! How do you know?!" "She turned me into a newt!" *silence* "Well..I got better." --Launcelot and a villager, "Monty Python And The Holy Grail" I'll post some more later... --Chris

Actually, I think thats Cooler (Or Koola...whatever), not King Kold. The cel-shaded look does fit the series very nicely...but I've never actually played a Budokai game yet, so I'll reserve my judgement. And, hey, when do we get a Hyper Dimension port on the GBA? C'mon guys, get cracki'n... --Chris EDIT-- Just checked my VHS cover and, yeah, thats definatly Cooler in his final form. Check it out in DBZ Movie 5. We American's got it as "Cooler's Revenge" but I'll leave the Japanese version info to one who knows more than I.

Ah, breast size. The one body part that can get me in soooo much trouble. Once upon a time (say when I was 13 or so)...I'm not ashamed to admit I was quite the pig. It was all about the boobs. Granted, not many girls I knew back then had them yet...but all forms of celebrity were determined by my friends and I by the size of the rack. As I've grown older, I've found I could care less. Yeah, I still enjoy an attractive female, but I'd much rather know a beautiful person who can truly say she loves me than an attractive body attached to someone who just wants to dig into my wallet. Oddly enough, the celebrities I found attractive when I was 13? I no longer have any form of attraction to. I learned about that wonderous material silicone. Heh. --Chris

Are there really any perfect celebrities? Maybe Will Smith, once upon a time, yeah. But ever since "Will-inium" I just think he's too caught up in his own hype. Anyone who was qualified seems to have lost their edge, it seems. Jessica Simpson came out and was supposedly a big Christian. She may still be so, but since Newlyweds came out, I know I would laugh if she tried to tell me about Jesus. Tobey Maguire may be on top of my list. Keeping with the Spidey trend, Willem Dafoe always seems to be good guy. Same for Robert Duvall. Also consider Patrick Stewart, David Boreanaz, Alexis Denisof. Alyson Hannigan...its sad that so many of the "perfect" celebrities are unknown or little known actors who don't get much work. As for Dafoe and Duvall...they're pretty much retired, and only do a few movies when the script is really good. Its a tough topic. Everyone has their flaws *shrug* --Chris

Well, like most of you, I haven't been able to read anything of King's aside from "The Dark Tower" Books 1-4. I have Book 5, and I think I just saw Book 6 at Wal-Mart....hrm, I need to catch up on my reading. --Chris

Whoo! Haven't played many games...uhm..ever...(sheltered childhood) but I'll give it a shot... Okay, honestly, now that I think of it...only one stands out. "Captain Novalin"! This "educational" game stars Captain Novalin, the diabetic (yes, diabetic) hero for all of us! The mayor has been kidnapped by an evil gang of sweets! Using his amazing ability to...uhm...jump...the good Cap'n must find the mayor before he runs out of insulin supplies! Honestly, its a good hearted game, and you know it has the best intentions, but...my God. The cookie's AI is it jumps when I jump! How amazing! I'll post some for other systems when (if) I think of 'em. --Chris

Hee hee. I used to watch it when I got home from school...but now my classes have changed and I can't. Ho hum. Its really a great show, with an all-star cast. I mean, c'mon...James Avery (Uncle Phil) was the Shredder on the original TMNT! Shredder! Thats some big name casting there. --Chris

Goblin, by far.
In the comics, Goblin was the ultimate villain. He originally just wanted to rule New York's Underworld, but Spidey kept thwarting him. So, one day, he finally just dulled Peter's Spidey Sense and followed him home. Bam! Green Goblin knows Spider-Man's secret identity, where he lives, who he loves...he becomes the ultimate opponent, and it cost Spidey his first true love, Gwen Stacy.
I also love Doc Ock. Spider-Man 2 proved that he's the most visually attractive of all of Spidey's foes. --Chris

Name: Jonathen "Jonny" Arthur Gender: Man Age: 22 Biography: Jonathen "Jonny" Arthur was born into a regular family just like everyone else. His family doted on him, he exceled in school...literally the pick of the litter, despite the naggings and hounding of his siblings and schoolmates. High School changed that. Desperate for acceptance, Jonny began to experiment with various drugs, skip out on his schoolwork, ignore his parents...he became the rebel that his Generation so desperatly strived to be. But a run in that ended in his best friends death changed all that. Jonny has since left his family and friends, leaving them no word on where he is. He's been living in the Midwest, working various mill jobs and living a solitudical existence. Though he's been off drugs for sometime, he still feels that dark temptation to go back to his old self. Any side effects caused by the drugs have yet to be seen... Personality: Jonny has walked to the edge of life, looked death straight in the eye and survived...only to find he didn't really want to. Though he feels compelled to do whats right, he still fears what he has been in the past, and what he inevitably may become. He hasn't maintained true human contact for years, only speaking with those he must and spending his free time holed up in his apartment. He's chosen to erase his past existance, taking on the name Aaron Delgado in his new home of Key City. Profession: Jonny has been working several odd jobs for the past years. He mainly sticks to work in mills, doing jobs that keep him indoors and out of the public eye. Physical Description: Jonny is a tall, wiry man with jet black hair and downtrodden brown eyes. Since he has no desire to appear as his old self, he has not shaved or cut his hair since his departure, and sports long hair and a shaggy beard. Though he dresses like a bum and maintains the appearance, the years working in various mill and contruction jobs have clearly made him quite strong. Woot! There we go ^_^ I"ll be keeping an eye on this one...

Gaming What GBA game would you recommend for someone who plays RPGs?
JCBaggee replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
I'm getting my husband one of those little hand held game boys, but I have no idea what game to send along with it since the only video games I ever play are Sims and DDR . So that said I'm looking for suggestions. Anything would help since I'm pretty much clueless in this kind of situation. At least I admit it. Thanks in advance, CHW Chibi Horsewoman
I just got Golden Sun: The Lost Age, and I must say I'm quite pleased with it. The graphics and control are great and the story is wonderful...bit difficult though. Also, if you hold out a bit more, I believe we just got an official statement that Square-Enix will be re-releasing the remade Final Fantasy I and II on the GBA. I'll try to dig that up when I get the chance. --Chris -
Sure thing. Angel 5.14 : "A Hole In The World"
The ep begins with a flashback of Fred telling her parents that she'll be safe in LA. She'll study, she'll learn everything, and she'll be "normal". Yeah...right. The scene cuts to Fred using a flamethrower to eradicate a bugs nest. It seems she's going to be attack by one when it blows up, a result of Wesley's shotgun blast. The two finish up and share a kiss as Angel and Spike walk in, Angel impaled by Spike's sword. The two continue their heated argument as they exit. Back in Wolfram & Hart's science lab, Knox is surprised by a strange delivery man, who brings in a sarcophogus. The order quite plainly says "Fred Burkle" so...its left there. While Knox and Fred investigate it, she triggers something and some sort of wind blows into her face. She has a check out at the doctors, they say she's fine. But, while talking to Wesley and Lorne, she casually finishes up singing Lorne's verse of "You Are My Sunshine", only to cough blood on Wesley. It seems Fred is being possessed. Her organs are boiling and, in one day's time, they'll liquify. But thats not all. Her skin is hardening, and whats running through her appears to be some sort of parasitic infectcion. The group runs off to do research, leading to the return of "Dark Wesley", shooting a staffer in the leg when he comments that not everyone can be working on Fred's case. Thinking Lindsay has something to do with this, Angel, Spike, and Lorne search his apartment. There they find a pretty badly messed up Eve, who tells them they need to research "The Deeper Well". The Well is located in England, and is the keeping place of the Old One's, the demons who arrived before man. Spike and Angel, putting aside their differences, rush to find the Well and hopefully save Fred. Meanwhile, Fred has gotten out of the bed and is trying to work in the lab. At her request, Wesley takes her to her home, where she was in the eps flashback. This is were they spend the remained of the episode, with Fred slowly losing her own memories and rapidly deteriorating. Angel and Spike arrive in England and find the well, being faced with a series of guards. The two take care of them and face the Wellkeeper, a man named Drogyn (I think). It turns out Angel knows him from several years earlier. Recognizing him, the man takes Angel and Spike into the well. Back at Wolfram & Hart, Gunn and Knox are working on a way to save Fred when Knox slips up. Turns out, Knox brought Illyria's sarcophogus here...and Gunn's deal for a new brain boost (in the previous episode) led to Gunn himself getting it through customs! Back at the Well, we learn it runs all the way through to the other side of the Earth (Spike's quips later on in the ep "There's a hole in the world.", hence the episodes title), Drogyn revealss that in order to save Fred, he needs a champion who has traveled from where it is to the Well. Angel comments he has two. But there's a catch. In order to do so, Illyria will pass through the souls of everyone in its way...and its a long way from LA to England. Tens of thousands of innocent people will die in the process. Angel actually thinks for a moment before making his decision..."To Hell with the world." Back at her house, Fred appears to be slipping into insanity. In the well, Spike is just looking down as Angel walks towards him. Spike chuckles and tells Angel that there is probably some poor bloke on the other side of the world, on a platform like this one, looking down at them. At Fred's house, she begins to shudder and asks Wesley to kiss her. He complies. She then asks if he would have loved her. He holds her and tells her "I have loved you since we first met. No...I've loved you since before then." Fred dies in Wesley's arms, who begins to cry, but her eyes appear to freeze over. Fred's body convulses and the two are thrown apart. What stands in Fred's place hardly stands to be called Fred. Illyria, with dark blue hair and veins popping about (in fact, looking quite like Evil Willow) looks at her new body and hisses out "This will do."
As for Gunn and Fred
Fred found the scientist who sent her to Pylea. Gunn killed him because he didn't want Fred to have to deal with the guilt, but it wound up driving the two apart.
Hope that helps. --Chris

Yeah, I read this not that long ago, just didn't feel like digging up the thread... Weird thing is, Kristin from E! Online said not that long ago that Angel had been renewed for a 6th season. Hmph. A proposal was being prepared to pitch the show to UPN (who picked up Angel's mother show, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", after its own 5th season concluded), but no word yet on how that looks. However, the initial word says that it doesn't look good for keeping the show on air. Natch, fans aren't too happy, seeing as how this is being regarded as the best season ever, what with the new format, new stand-alone stories, and addition of Spike (James Marsters) to the cast. Whedon also said the finale will not be changed, but it willl wrap things up nicely. The events leading up to the series end include (huge spoilers)
the return of Connor, the death of Knox, and the "rescue"/return of Lindsay MacDonald!
I"m keeping my ear to the ground for info regarding the future of the characters, which Whedon said may include some WB! speicals next year. PM or IM me if you want to know the latest news I have. --Chris

No, Thundercats is not an anime. But I guess it fits in here, since the discussion is on animation styles *shrugs* And I completely agree with you, Flashlight. CGI shouldn't be used where it isn't needed. Blegh >_< --Chris
