To own a Holden HSV HRT 427 Monaro. I haven't had the dream for long.. as the car hasn't been out for long.. actually, the car hasn't even made real production. And never will. HSV shelved the project as it was deemed too expensive. This car is Australia's answer for power. An awesome piece of work, only from Holden. Of course. This car has the power to blow over the Statue Of Liberty. To sell this car, it'd be like selling murder.

it's a purpose built race car for the Bathurst 24 Hour Race.
handbuilt by Garry Rogers Motorsport.
7 litre Chevrolet engine.
-- 427 cubic inch.
-- over 650 BHP.
it can reach 100kms from 0kms in 3.8 seconds.
it comes standard with 18 inch wheels: 18 X 11 front; 18 X 13 rear.
6-speed Holinger transmission.
Ohlin shocks.
If I owned one, it'd be a dream come true. Some Kind Of Monster by Metallica, or Close My Eyes by Pain. Heavy songs, but they have a good rhythm/beat. Put me to sleep in seconds.

Zepplin. For sure. There's nothing else to say.

System Of A Down's new album is a party to my ears... :smoke: ..I dunno. Anyway, I love this CD. "Bring Your Own Bombs" is a different approach compared to what they usually take to their music. Still love it, none-the-less. "Revenga" is another one of my favourites on this album. System Of A Down has always been a part of my music taste, and I sure as hell can't wait for Hypnotize.

Rammstein. Their sound is clean, as Generic said, and crystal-clear. Even though they may be German, I don't listen to music just because of the lyrics. Sure, lyrics make what a song is about, but I pay alot of attention to the music. And Rammstein's sound is awesome. I'd rather listen to music by Rammstein over Dimmu Borgir anytime. As for the other 2 "pop" groups, or whatever they are, I prefer Simple Plan. Because I hear them on the radio. I've heard some music by New Found Glory, but not enough to put my opinion on them. Simple Plan I hear nearly every damn day on the radio.
A little debate to start here: Pain or Hypocricy? Both bands are awesome, and they share the same frontman (I can't remember his name for the life of me, though). I'm just wondering which band seems to be more popular here. I'm gonna have to vote for Hypocricy here.
Hypocricy? I've never heard of them. I love Pain and they're music. They're awesome. Mainly because I can honestly say I have never heard of any heavy music that's influenced by trance. Pain's "Close My Eyes" and "Parallel To Ecstacy", aswell as "The Third Wave" and "On And On" are just a few of their best songs ever. These songs really show what they're capable of. I've never heard of Hypocricy. What are they like? Similar to Pain? If they are I'm definately up for checking out their music.
Hey, Fall, no worries! I was just backing up my side. It's not a brawl. I'm actually glad you have a differing opinion so we can debate on it. I probably did come across a little harsh (because a) I'm a little over-the-top passionate about this and b) I was in a very bad mood to begin with when I responded). I apologize for that. And I definately see your point. You don't have to memorize 30+ subgenres, just enough so that you can tell the difference between Death Metal and Power Metal. That kind of thing, you know?
Hey fair enough, I just thought you were having a big go at me so I stood my ground. Sorry man. I've heard of GWAR before, I've actually got a song by them on my MP3 player. "Sick Of You". Don't really like it, but yeah. I'm actually starting to look a bit into Shadows Fall. I've heard them before, "What Drives The Weak" is an awesome song. I was going to get a few songs by them, I haven't got 'round to it yet.
Fall, the reason people worry about subgenres is, again, because metal is just way too broad to fit under one name. For example, Rhapsody and Cannibal Corpse are both metal bands, but they sound completely, totally, and utterly different. That's why we call Rhapsody "Symphonic Power Metal" and Cannibal Corpse "Brutal Death Metal". It makes tons of sense. It seems to me you just don't want to take the time and effort to learn about the different types. Bands like Korn and Spineshank, for example, actually have a genre, not just "...?" like you say. It's called Nu-Metal (which really isn't metal at all, it's kind of it's own genre entirely). Another reason subgenres are important is if you're trying to describe a group to someone. If you were trying to tell someone what Children of Bodom sounds like, for example, you'd have to say "...really fast guitar playing, it's melodic but at the same time it's heavy, there's keyboards that at times are felt but not heart, and at times form the frontal melody, the vocals are kind of growly/screamy type, the drums are blah blah blah blah" and it would be difficult to get what you're saying across. If you said to me "they're a Blackened Power Metal band", I'd have an idea of what they sound like. Look, just because you don't like or understand it doesn't make the concept stupid.
Alright. Obviously we've got different opinions here. I don't like the categorizing. You do. Simple. The reason I think it's stupid, is because there's the other half of the group of people that are unlike you, that won't take the time to learn 30+ genres and sub-genres, just so they know what type of music their favourite band plays. There's the heavy stuff, there's the middle, and there's the soft stuff. I have never met anyone in my life that has more categories for his type of music than his age. That's the reason I said it's stupid. That's just my opinion. I'm running on my opinion. And I'm not going to think all this is "not stupid" just because everyone here does categorize their music into genres. I've given you a reason why I think it's stupid. It's a valid reason. I didn't say that because I think it's stupid, it is stupid. I honestly thought I explained myself well enough in my previous post. And I didn't categorize KoRn and the like as "...?". "...?" was the end of a sentence. A figure of speech. ;) I don't mean to start a huge all-in brawling debate over this, so I'm goin'.

I have over 200 CDs. But I can't say I've ever lost one. I still have the first CD I ever bought, Portrait Of An American Family by Marilyn Manson. Mine are all kept in a CD folder. About 10 of them. And I go psycho if any of my family touches them.

Metal is a genre where great beat-lines or rhythm isn't required to make good music. Some bands do, some don't. For example. Put Slipknot next to In Flames. Slipknot, they've got drums and guitars and screaming all over the place, but they produce awesome music by it. In Flames, have awesome beat-lines and an awesome rhythm to every song they have. And the music is also awesome. Everything is awesome... awesome. :smoke: Do you know what I mean? That is the whole reason all these sub-genres are emerging in metal. All the **** like "thrash metal" and "speed metal" and "haardcore"... What the hell is the go with it all. All the different kinds of rhythm and beats you hear in metal music, makes people think the whole genre needs to be more layed-out for them. Metal is metal. Heavy metal. None of this ******** "gothic" and "thrash" categories. It's all nothing. It all means jack. It just makes the metal genre more complicated than what it should be. And it's stupid. You want some metal? Here you go. Killswitch Engage Mudvayne Slipknot Opeth Throwdown Trivium In Flames Pain (recommend to anyone and everyone) Fear Factory Poison The Well Eighteen Visions System Of A Down Children Of Bodom Powerman 5000 There are some bands that have the capability of creating heavy metal music, but some of the music they've produced isn't as heavy as what they are capable of. You get that...? Such as. The Union Underground, KoRn, Disturbed, and Spineshank. They produce the best music, my favourite kind of music. Metal has all the traits of these bands, just generally a bit heavier.

I wouldn't say I'm in shape, but I also wouldn't say I'm out of shape. I run 5 days a week, usually about 20-30 minutes, and that's enough for me.

Has anyone listened to any music by Pain? They produce pretty heavy music, but they're not like any normal heavy rock band. Their music is influenced by trance/techno. As much as I love the heavy-side of their music, I also have a soft-side for techno music, and Pain's music is all-in-one for me. Songs "Parallel To Ecstasy" and "Close My Eyes" are awesome, and if you haven't heard anything from them, those songs are just a couple of the best. Also on a side-note, Oasis are releasing a new album, "Don't Believe The Truth", on the the 30th of May in the UK. I'm sure I wasn't the only one, that until I visited a few fan-sites of theirs I thought they had already left the music world. I love their music, I still listen to their music nearly every day. I can't wait 'till the new album is out in Australia, 'cause I'm gonna buy it.
However, What if someone who treats you terribly were to stick with you despite your faults, does that make him a friend?.
What? If you find a friend like that, that friend is one of a kind. A friend is someone who can treat you right, and at the same time stick by you when you need them. In return, you do the same. If they can't treat you properly, you'll end up fighting anyway. That's what friendship is.

I'm hot tempered. :smoke: Very much so. If someone says something to directly bring me down, ruin my confidence, I'll give it back. I won't stop 'til I get an apology, or they give up. And if it escalates to a physical punch-up, I'm more than happy to take part.

My computer is the machine from hell. Well actually, it looks quite nice from the outside. But once you press the power button in, all hell breaks loose. If you're at my house, and need computer access, you'd be better off buying a whole new computer.. 'cos the time it takes to buy a whole new computer system and set it up.. you'd still be loading up my machine. :smoke:

To see how much fun you can have and how much **** you can get into.. that's the way I see it.

He's been framed. As much evidence or whatever the hell you want to call it is and isn't against him, I still think he is innocent.

Because people are too stupid to see behind the appearance of someone. And because it takes time to see what's behind someones appearance, it's seen as a waste of time. This world is so rushed today, you have to be judged by your appearance. Admit it, you make sure you look decent before you go out. That's because you have to. If you didn't, people would think you're an idiot, or homeless, or somethin'. Appearance is everything these days. It's just stereotypes if you ask me. One thing runs on another. It's all a big circle.

I believe in it. I think ghosts are a real thing. Ghosts are the soul of someone who got lost on their way to their afterlife. That's the easiest way I can explain what I think. Ghosts are someone, that's trapped, lost, or just there, on the wrong side of their world, on the wrong side of the line.

I love Metallica. They're my all-time favourite. Nothing can beat them. The Memory Remains is the best song ever. The videoclip is also just as awesome. The Unforgiven II is also a great song, with a great vidioclip. I don't have a favourite band member, though Kirk Hammett is a great lead guitarist. He's pulled off some of the best solos I've ever heard. They're new DVD Some Kind Of Monster is a good look into the band. It's a documentary type movie, but trust me, if you love Metallica as much as I do, you'd love this DVD. The whole band, the history and the present, is put into a great ture-story. I've got all their albums. From Kill 'Em All, right through to St. Anger. I do admit, they're newer music is getting a bit out of whack compared to their old stuff, but you still gotta love it. St. Anger is a great song out of their newer stuff, aswell as The Unnamed Feeling.

Nightwish are a good band. Children of Bodom is an awesome band. I don't really listen to this genre because of the symphonic sound, I tend to listen for the guitar. Any band in this genre put the electric guitar to really good use. If you listen to Everytime I Die by Children Of Bodom, you'll know what I mean.

Well. Over 100 million, I can't say I knock it back. I mean, that much would set me for life. I couldv'e retired when I was 15. I could do whatever the hell I wanted. No worries. If it went against my "personal moral code", chances are I'd be able to buy it back anyway.
-
Just my thought here, I think Cradle of Filth are absolute ****. Moonspell, Type O Negative, To/Die/For. That's what you call good music, whether you want to categorize them as "gothic" or not.

I tend to be more keen on taking a bigger risk, because if it goes all good, the benifit is big. I don't think of the consequences.. and that sometimes can be a problem, because taking these risks sometimes end up very bad, leaving me unprepared for everything.
