[size=1]I don't care if I'm beaten to posting *just incase I am...* But I want to post this. I went through the process of asking permission and such, and am quite thrilled with the outcome. [url="http://imageshack.us"][img]http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/5117/harbinger2bv.jpg[/img][/url] Image copyright Mohammad "Hawk" Haque at Applegeeks.com The characature depicted is that of his Hawk character. It is also an image from one of his amazing desktops, and also featured in his comic. I'd love to say thanks for the ability to use his character. EDIT: I redid it a bit... I faded/reposistioned the text to fit my likings, and that of whom have critiqued me. [size=1]Glad you like, but as I was saying, I'm sorry if you don't like the message displayed. I was struck with a sorrowful, yerning vibe as soon as I saw the stock. ^_^ And I, as you have said, would love to see what others can do, or create. ^_^ Competition only helps better the competitors. [size=1]Siren here has pretty much summed up my arguments. Many people throughout this thread have stated many a great comment, each of which I feel proves why ID shouldn't be taught. I personally had to take a bio/chem class last year. When we reached evolution, the teacher gave the option as to take an ID text and go into an adjacent computer room and read it. I'm glad to say that only one person took the book. I wouldn't nessecarily call that person ignorant, or any other term, for their parent's had actually come into class and had her leave. I whole heartedly believe that Evolution is the right thing to teach in class, for if it isn't taught, more people like those parent's would interfere in the quest for factual learning. Right before the parent's walked out of the classroom, the father stopped next to me, *I was sitting in the last seat by the door* and blattently exclaimed something along the lines of, "You'd rather believe you came from a dirty chimp than the holy being that is God?" and stormed out. [size=1]I'd honestly recommend you save it on your comp. Then you could upload it to a free image hosting place such as [url="http://www.photobucket.com"]Photobucket.com[/url] or [url="http://www.imageshack.us"]Imageshack.us[/url]. Using the OB attatchments only lets the image be viewed by members... and when a guest, or someone not logged in views it, it shows a big... red... [/size][size=1][color=Red][size=4][b][size=6]X[/b][/size][/size][color=black]... See what I mean. It helps, and does alot better at not eating up OB's bandwidth. *Photobucket and Imageshack are linked... go ahead and click on them to choose the host you want.* ~_^[/color] [/color][/size]

[size=1]I did what I could with the stock... but it gave me such a sorrowing message... I just went with the vibe I got. [size=1]^_^ I thought the Larry pic was fun... but I'll change it. I'm not to happy with the quality of the stocks, but I'll go back and forth... and make two versions with the two different pics. I'll edit with the finished banners... [b]EDIT:[/b] As I've said... I'm not a fan of the stocks, but here's the two I made from them. I'm sorry it took soo long, I've had some other things going on. [IMG]http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/688/robinbannerrequest29fi.jpg[/IMG] Take your pick. xD [IMG]http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/1084/robinbannerrequest39hv.jpg[/IMG] [/size]

[size=1][b]12th:[/b] I'm not quite sure if this symbolizes something for you, but it does fit your style. ^_^ As always, you do great with the text art. It's placed nicely, and sized to draw attention to different parts. The colors are a bit bright... *Namely the text* Which does sort of problem my eyes... I guess it's just me though. [b] Anthology:[/b] This is a nicely done piece. I would imagine you'd image map it if you ever get a site up and running. It's well organized, and has a cap of each peices drawing details. I'd prefer to see some of your other peices there... but it's what you prefer. If you would like to make another, that'd just rock even more. ^_^ As, well... I've seen a lot of stuff from you this summer that I really like. All in all... keep up the awesome work. [/size]

[size=1][URL=http://imageshack.us][IMG]http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/8625/astdsrequest0pd.jpg[/IMG][/URL] I threw that together last night. I hope it's what you were asking for. [/size]

[size=1]No problem. ^_^ I'll get on fixing it up after school today. I do hope you enjoy though. [/size]

[img]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24372&stc=1[/img] I just threw these together. If there's something want changing... or a whole new image just let me know. I'm working on a new avi. I'm not satisfied with how it turned out... [/size]

[size=1]Well, you don't copy the "tag" that contains the "[*IMG][/*IMG]" tags, or the html tags... You need a direct link. Just the straight URL. "http://" etc. *Side note, in the IMG tags... remove the stars and they work for the forum.... they're there just to display the tag* [/size]

[size=1]I can imagine he'd wish from some critique from you, but he does do some semi-commission work. He has designed some flyers and such for his uncles night club. ^_^ It is some very grade A stuff. Provacotive, stylized, and overall, professional. Sun is awesome. [b] EDIT:[/b] The flyers he posted below aren't the one's he's shown me... at least, Idon't think so. [/size]

[size=1]You found him? Sweet! Well, it's great to see a new update, and the banners are awesome. The colors and the typography are really nice, and the animation is fluid. The idea of matching banners is awesome, and I do love the smoothness rendered between the colors. No jagged edges and such. ^_^ The avi is nice. It compliments the banner, and keeps your anime lust present. My only question though, is where do you get such clear stocks? I mean... I have yet to find such a clear, and detailed stock as that. But... I don't get one? [/size]

[size=1]My goodness, as of recently everyone has been writing up exactly what I wanted too. Well anyways, on to my critique. [b]Sean[/b]: I do love the concept behind this. The sayings area all amazing. I can't help but crack an ear to ear smile. I have to say... you helped make my day. Yet, as Rising has said... it does seem a bit hard on the eyes, and vision is drawn onto the abstract background. With the action in the background, and a text with some action *The grunged look* They don't seem to blend nicely. [b]Imi[/b]: The size, use, and placement of the sketch really do help this piece. *Think if it were CG, I don't think it would have looked as nice* The scanlines are a nice touch, and do add some action to the pic. I feel it was a great choice in font, and looks incredibly amazing throughout the entire piece. With a large group of teens, this would have drawn a large crowd... I think. It's simplistic, in a sence, and vibrant. Really draw attention. I do, however, agree with Rising, that the drawn in skull... *not the hand drawn one* It does seem pixelated. I'm not sure if that was intentional... but it seems out of place... It'd look better smoother.[b] Retribution[/b]: As soon as I layed eyes on your piece... I thought it was a professional piece... And if I didn't know your art style by now... I'd claim you stole it. It seems very well done, and clear. Not too many effects. The text is a nice choice, and as I've been saying, simplistic is beauty to me. Through my critique, you'll see the reasons behind my decision, but my vote for [b]removal[/b] goes to [b]Sean[/b]. I feel Imi and Retri should advance to the the final round of LMS, and to them the best of luck [/size]

[size=1]Also, once you get the hang of dabbling in GIMP, it's entirely possible to try out PS and PSP. Both Adobe and Corel offer about... 30 day trials for their software. I'm not recommending to suddenly go and use them, but thought I'd inform you, after you get a feel for GIMP. [/size]

[size=1]I'd recommend, as Morpheus did, [url="http://www.imageshack.us"]Imageshack[/url]. If you do not wish to use them, photopbucket is an alternative. I do not have a link to photobucket, try googling it. Both are pristine hostees. They don't add anything, and accept most image formats. [/size]

[size=1][b]A - Layout Prototype: [/b]Part of Retri's signature style. Very clean, and sharp. It has a nice feel to it, and isn't too busy. It is a very probably site design, if cut properly... and put together nicely. I do have to say though, that the whitened area to the right, *I'm assuming that's where the text is going to go* seems a little cramped. I do like some designs that do cramp the text, but it's hard to pull of nicely sometimes. I have confidence that you can do it. ^_^ [/size]
-
[size=1]Well, I feel Retri covered every point possible... But I don't see that many things wrong with them. ^_^ I quite enjoy most of them. Red Obsession: The stocks seem to be of varrying contrast. Two of them have some heavily darkend areas, while the third is generally a mellow shading. The slanted effect in the background does fit with the gridded texture on each person, but over all it just doesn't accent the piece in a good way. Even though I techniquely don't have much experience with these effects, when I attempt a grid, I make it extremely low on the ocupacy meter... Just so that it's bairly noticable, yet there to accent/add some texture. I agree with Retri, yet again that the blend job is a little harsh, but I can't be held to that, for I haven't really tried blending yet. I'm not gonna comment on the font, for I'm not sure of a way to improve it. War: This is a very strong piece, and I feel it would have done well in the LMS. I love the words you used, and... well... Some of the image is confusing. Retri covered it all. The bride, the notebook in the bg... just... well, hard to make out. DNAngel: I can't say much about it. The text cuts off, and the abstract shape, yet again, as Retri said, misconstrews the text. Behind These Hazel Eyes: A great piece, my only gripe is the gridded effect. It's too vivid. It taints the ladies faces, and just adds a bit of unwanted color... in my opinion. Sakura: I do enjoy it... *Loves simplistic* The little people is a nice effect, but the stars for the S and R feel out of place. Awesome border too. ^_^ Enter: This is an awesome splash image. All the colors in the abstract background do fit nicely. I feel, that the dark area in the upper corner is a little bulky, but it adds to the contrast, *And takes the eye away from the opposite bright corner* Yet, what bugs me... is it looks like you attempted blending teh cat girls ears into the background... yet left peices. I mean, on the left side of her head is a huge piece of what resembles hair jutting out into a spike. I didn't realize it was an ear piece... until I noticed the tail. Hm... All in all, wonderful work. Way above my tallent. ^_^ Great job. [/size]

[size=1]Well... I get to experimenting... and I come up with many different images... lol. I couldn't find decent pictures as to what you asked... so I did what I could with some variations. I do have some live action pics... Kratos swinging his swords and such... if you'd like those just let me know. There's subtle variations to each picture. Either diaganol lines, or a gridded image. I just felt like experimenting with the effects. I hope you like. It won't let me upload the rest.. I'll put them up on ImageShack. [size=1]Well, as you have "seem enough forums" I'm surprised by the lack of quality through your post. I'm sorry if this offends you, but it surprises me that you make such a statement. Anyways, on to the topic at hand. OB was once plagued by page long sigs, with 2+ images, and one letter on every other line. The admins, which I respect the decision, had decided to make a considerable lenth restriction, and limit the images to one per signature. This not only saves space in the thread, but also helps release the bulk that would plague OB if every person had 2+ images in their threads. Just think of the lag. Also, you stated the image restrictions as 100X150. The true lenth is 500 pixels wide, by 100 pixels tall. This gives enough room to be creative, if not... get a message across. Avitars are 150X80. I'm not sure if you got some of those confused... but you might want to re-read the faq/rules to make sure. Edit: Also, please show respect for out hard working mods and admins. They all work excessively to keep this place civil. Also, seeing as I speak with a large portion of them, this is this is a very cruel statement. [/size]

One day, while fetching some groceries for his mother, the verdict of the Rodney King trial was released. As the riots broke out, Blaze was caught in the middle of it.
