My hair is short (above my shoulders) but it's currently in a straightened, angled bob shape. And it's very bouncy, I love it.
But for someone who hasn't gone to college before... duh... I'm a bit worried about people. I'm used to being insulted or shunned in school by people who don't know me, and I won't know anyone in college. Does anyone know what kind of attitude I should expect? 'cause I'm rather paranoid about the whole new people... thing... Yay for my first Lounge thread in a year...
Well, I wouldn't worry about the people too much, university is so much different than secondary/high school. I'm actually in my first year of college and already I've met so many interesting people. (I mean heck, there's a kid I know who's Chinese, but he has an English accent, and lives in New Jersey.) I was extremely nervous too, I mean, you're right, it's one of our first real decisions that we make on our own. And after that, it's one after the other. There are so many people, cultures, and beliefs intertwined here at University. And once you get there, you realize that everyone else is just as afraid as you are because you are all out of your comfort zone; a lot of people are more accepting. I think what's harder is finding your little niche within it, but even then it's a lot of fun exploring all the different clubs and what not. But eventually, you'll learn to get comfortable with it and I'm sure it'll be a nice, snug fit. You'll even miss it when you return home for a break. But either way I hope this helps you, and good luck with the process!

I too have suffered from exams and SATs and whatever other drama has arrived this week. But enough of that, here goes... If you could combine two animals, what would they be, and why? Hm...I would have to say that I would combine a siberian tiger and a saluki. Salukis have speed, and have a thinner body structure much like a cheetah. Tigers have power. Combine the two and you would have an amazing hunting pet. If you had to film an action movie, what location in the world would you think would suit the most exciting action scene ever? (In other words, where would you film it?) For the type of action scene, I choose a dogfight in the skies just around sunset. Powerful stealth fighters with wafer thin wings and enough firepower to take out a large city sounds awesome. But it would start out with perhaps a three-on-one situation: assassins from different agencies or something like that. I would prefer somewhere desolate, perhaps somewhere around Area 51 in Nevada. And with it being over Area 51, the Armed Forces along with the FBI and CIA would have to join in as well. It would be more fun to move somewhere populated to up the stakes. Naturally, I want it to last, so it would be nightfall before anything good happened. Putting innocent, unknowing bystanders in danger is always fun too, the end location would move to somewhere crowded like Las Vegas. Let's say you ruled a country. Whether your economy prospers or not is up to you. In otherwords, you can be a harsh ruler to your people or a kind one. But what of food? Do you vary in vegetation and agriculture? Do you have a large marketing system? Perhaps some world wide food industries were founded in your nation. The question is, how do you run your country's food situation following those guidelines? This takes more thought, folks. You can choose to make your food of plenty or not. What's it going to be? [Will edit]

I apologize for the inconvience, the link had been broken from my Photobucket account while I was moving things around. The Picture -
1. What's your favorite hobby? My favorite hobby [at the moment] is singing and dancing. I've always loved to sing, it just helps me to relax. As for dancing, Dance Dance Revolution started it. But I like to dance around my room with whatever's playing on my stereo and sing at the same time. And when no one's home, I'll just let loose around my living room. I don't care if I can't dance, I just like to do it. 2. What do you think your best personality trait would be? Well, my spontaneousness has often been called my best trait. When I'm out with my friends, I have a tendency to take the lead and run them all over the place. It ranges from the mall to the beach in the winter. It's fun walking on the ice that's actually ashore. They really enjoy their time with me though seeing as they call me every weekend and we go out until about one or two in the morning. I've also been told that my spontaneousness is great for cheering up people.

When I say New York, what do you think of?
Sinistra replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Well, I know that a lot of foreign people think of New York as in New York City. When I stayed with my host family in Japan, I had a map of New York with me just in case I had to show them where I lived. When I showed my host mother that I lived in Upstate New York, she was so astounded and told me that she and all of her friends thought I was from New York City. I had to explain to her that I lived more toward Niagara Falls, and even then she still didn't believe me. While at the airport in Detroit on the way there, several delegates and I were asked by foreigners [I believe Koreans and 'Indians'] if we were from New York City as well. -
Well, I'm left handed. My username Sinistra is latin for "left-sided" which I so wisely chose a while ago. O.o I'm horrible at writing with my right hand, if there was ever a time where my left hand wasn't available, I would be in a lot of trouble.

Ah. Here's my list to contribute. Well, only a part of it. :3 Gackt M.S. Camui. I love this man for not only his looks but for his absolutely wonderful voice and powerful way of words. Takeshi Kaneshiro. I first laid eyes upon him in House of Flying Daggers, and I haven't really been able to take my eyes off of him since. XD He's an amazing actor and he is lovely. Okay, hyde's older than my mom but that's not stopping me from loving him. He has a lovely voice and is ultimately just gorgeous. Okay, enough with the Asian guys for a moment. Jade Puget is awesome. [I love his hair.] 'Nuff said. And I'm happy that I'm not the only one that loves Edward Norton and Ewan McGregor. I don't know what it is about them, but they are just irresistible. Ewan totally surprised me with his voice in Moulin Rouge and Edward Norton just has an aura about him that just absolutely amazes me.

Phoenix ~ August 25, 2006 Soaring in that fiery bliss Sultry, seductive sayings of curiousity sink into the ever-wondering mind. Innocence clutches to my hand, never letting go. It's all too perfect, that childish naivety. Muse, my savior... release the harsh grip of Reality. It's a cycle eternal, love. The heart pulses quickly, sensations tease the nerves. "Infinity has nothing on us..." although we've had our grievances with time. It's always a beautiful morning with you. Unfortunately, that'll have to wait. "Today is better than tomorrow." However, today is over. Sweet dreams, my love. If ecstasy will have its way, love reawakens when you do.
-
"Peace" ~ August 13th, 2006 Coming undone, the seams that bind you together unwind as curiousity strips you defenseless. "I want see you more than anyone." Lilting notes whisper into your ear, reassuring this is real. That already excited heart pounds louder as you step forth. Truth has announced the intentions. "Even if we took it for granted, the time spent was well worth it." We'll keep these memories and we'll go on with life. Time cannot obey Love. "Even if we left alone, we were still so happy." I'll keep you in my pocket, it's where you'll always be safe. It's for you to return home. "I just want to hold you." Warm feelings that we'll never share again lay adrift in that deep sea. They're scattered throughout the wreckage that is my memory. "I'll always love you." Even if you cannot stay here with me, hold my hand and keep me warm. Illusive are those thoughts of bitterness, for I cannot find myself being sad. My Muse, My Friend, My Love I've given you wings to fly, so remember me when you return home...

Well. My full name is Rhiannon Leigh Lay.
RHIANNON Gender: Feminine Usage: Welsh, Welsh Mythology Pronounced: hri-AN-ahn (Welsh), ree-AN-un (English), REE-an-un (English) Derived from Old Celtic Rigantona meaning "great queen". In Welsh mythology Rhiannon was the goddess of fertility and the moon. This name is also borne by a princess in Welsh legends, the wife of Pwyll.
My mother decided to name me this after the Fleetwood Mac song called "Rhiannon".
LEIGH Gender: Feminine & Masculine Usage: English Pronounced: LEE From a surname derived from Old English leah or Middle English legh, which mean "meadow".
Leigh is the feminine version of my grandfather's name on my mother's side. Lay was not found in the database, however, it's the only thing that my father actually had control over in my name. I don't believe there is any particular meaning to my last name, but I've also never bothered to research it. I'm perfectly fine with my first two names though. I've never met anyone else named Rhiannon. :3

I promised you that I would put in my comments. ^^ These first two parts are wonderful, Will. Your characterization [as usual] is of very high-quality and your narration is is right up there as well. I also have to agree with Sakura on the whole letter thing because it gives the story a nice, believable touch. For now, that's all I'll say.
-
I've been reading along, but I figured that my replies were getting a little repetitive. First and foremost, I love Will's character in this story. The way you described him brought forth a humor in the serious moments. I especially like the 'strawberry liquorice whip that he chews on so nervously' touch you gave it. That chapter was a good one. ^^ As for Chapter 5, I really enjoyed this one. Action is described flawlessly as always, Phil. Your attention to weaponry is wonderful, makes it all that more believable. And Jamie rocks. That's all I can say is that Jamie rocks. Can't wait for Agent Blayze's next test.

Camel to Alligator: "Cheer up. At least you didn't have to be Darth Vader, I heard that he got attacked by a fat fanboy with a fake lightsaber." I haven't done this in a while and...God help me, it's 5:12 AM.
-
This was just as good a chapter as the last, and I'm loving the cliffhangers at the end of the chapters. Just be careful of the little things like spelling.
"Not yet. I think if I input the code on Revelation's tracker, I can pinpoint her location. There's too much clutter on here at the moment. Gve[/B'] me two seconds,"
But that's such a little slip up and your writing overall never has many problems like that, so it's nothing to fret over. Keep up the good work, I'll keep reading!

Blayze, I love it. Your descriptive words once again paint a perfect picture and this action/suspense genre totally fits you. It takes me back to Firespark and it's success: I'm pretty sure that this story will do just as well if not ten times better. I'll be waiting for the next chapter. Keep up the amazing work.

It Ends Tonight - The All-American Rejects [PG] Lyrics ----------------- It's taken me all this time to see the answer within myself. I'm not doing this to avenge my mother, I'm not doing this to remember my father. I'm doing this for myself. If I die here, at least I'm fighting for the right cause. All of my life has been a blur of confusion, a struggle to figure out what I am and what I'm expected to do. I've finally found meaning. The mistakes in my life were simply trials to get to this final fight, hopefully I'm strong enough to win. It was in these desperate moments that the young girl had realized the answer to her internal struggle; she could find peace within herself. Up until then, she had been fighting off countless numbers of the enemy. There were several injuries scattered across her weakened, lithe frame and she knew that she wouldn't last much longer. "Stop!" A demanding voice beckoned and they all cleared in the midst of the battle. "She's mine." "So, you've found me." She said, eyes still alert for any attempted ambush. "Tis a shame what has happened to you." A man stepped forward, pointing to a scar on the girl's neck in the shape of a bite. "I guess you could say that I've hit a low that my mother couldn't when she was with you." She smirked. "What I have done is of my own free will, there's no reason to explain to the likes of you." "But you are here for my blood, are you not?" The man asked. "I could say that, or I could say that I just don't care anymore. But it would seem fitting that I take you down with me, Allister." "That's the fire that I've been looking for. I have you to thank, little Ena. I shall not die an unfullfilled man." "Let's get started, shall we?" Ena asked, a wicked smirk curled on her face. ----------------- Note: This is perhaps a preview of what is to come on a project I'm working on based on the RPG Love Me, Mr. Death by demonchild781.

"I'm Kane Aldritch. The Scion of Balance." It shocked Illaria beyond all thought, this was the man belonging to the most important of the Pillars, the Scion of Balance. Kane was the key to unlocking new existance in Meridian. He was much like a God. The others began introducing themselves, and Illaria went last. The words struggled to come out, but she made herself known as the Druid. Malekith then explained that it would be best that the group left immediately and to pack lightly. It was evident now that they were being sought after by the Ancients. The Guardians each left for their respective rooms, Illaria's being the last one on the left. Immediately she reached for her black cloak that hung on a stray nail on the wall and fastened it around her neck. Reaching for the satchel underneath, Illaria then sank to the floor to pick up the few scattered possessions that she had brought with her upon her leave from her village. One of these possessions happened to be a leather-bound book, however, unlike some of her brothers and sisters, Illaria carried no tome. The book was her old Herbology book; Illaria liked to look it over when she had a few spare moments that weren't dedicated to self-analyzation. The other possession of importance was a pouch that stored her whip and dagger, but instead of throwing it in the satchel, she tied it around her hips. Upon finishing her packing, Illaria then walked back to the common room and waited in a vacant armchair. Clutching the pouch, the girl's mind became flooded with memories of the day that Malekith had found her in that same meadow in which her wings were birthed. ------------------- "What does this gift amount to? What does it signify? Could it be that the legend of the Pillar Guardians is true?" Illaria wondered aloud. "Could I be one of them?" Back at her home, Illaria had left a note to her family stating her leave on a quest for knowledge on Herbology. She had no desire to tell them the truth about her wings for fear of scorn. She felt that it was best this way, and had already packed that satchel and cloak, with a dagger inside for safety. She was confused, but the legend seemed to be the only possible explanation. Shrugging, Illaria then allowed her wings to open to their full span and flapped them a few times. A voice then came from the distance. "I believe you are the Druid." Illaria turned around and concealed her wings, startled. A man then appeared from the tall grass, an expectant look painted on his face. The trademark look of black hair and blue eyes told the girl that he may be a Pillar Guardian, as they are related to the Ancients "There's only one way to be sure. If you are the Druid, you should have powers related to Nature." Illaria looked at him for a moment strangely, but then made sense of it in her head. She then spotted a wild rose, picked it and held it in her hand. "Have you a weapon? Perhaps you should try to make one with that." Concentrating, Illaria watched dumbdfounded as the stem grew thicker and longer, but when the bud fell to the ground, she stopped. With her manipulation, it had seemed that she had formed a stemlike whip. "Yes, you are the Druid." The man said as he walked closer with his hand extended. "I am Malekith, the Alchemist. I am the Guardian of States. What are you called?" "I am Illaria...Illaria Enfinati. I didn't know what I was until now, but I see that the legend is true." The girl took his hand and stood, it was a relieving to know that there were others like her. "I understand now."

Illaria sat silently near her fellow Guardians Mirichai and Kannes in the common room downstairs. They were a lot alike in personality. While they rarely spoke more than a few words, the company was enough for each. The young Guardian closed her eyes and tilted her head toward the ceiling, comprehending the past events that changed her life forever. The day she had sprouted her wings was a whirl of emotions that sent her into a silence everytime it came about in her mind. She had been in a meadow looking at a patch of wild onions she had just came upon when a searing white hot pain came from her shoulder blades and with a stifled scream, out burst a pair of wings. Illaria let a few tears fall and then her hands rushed to feel these new appendages. She flapped her wings once to make herself understand that this was real, and then allowed herself to rise and discover her ability to fly. After landing a little roughly, Illaria looked at the wings themselves. She was stunned by the question of why they were two different colors. Why was one black and the other white? This was a question that remained unanswered to this very moment. But there were more important and meaningful things to ponder. Illaria was the Druid, responsible for growth and evolution. And before that, she was a simple, ordinary girl learning to become a Herbologist. Illusive was the thought that she was a Pillar Guardian; for some reason, this fact alone could not register itself into her mind. 'But you are...you are a Pillar Guardian. Even if it only seemed like a legend, it's time to accept it, because you will have to adapt to these newfound capabilities or face severe consequences.' Illaria sighed and nodded her head. It was true, she would have to adapt if she were to survive. Her entire life now seemed to fit into place, it was all preparation for these days. 'You are Illaria Enfinati, the Druid. You are the Pillar Guardian of Nature and it's time that you accept your position.' Illaria then lowered her head and her crimson eyes flitted open. She looked at her fellow brother and sister and was about to speak, but she was interrupted by a series of knocks on the door downstairs and Brother Uriel went to investigate. "I believe that our last family member has arrived." Illaria whispered with a hopeful tone as she rose to her feet. In a moment, Uriel returned with Brother Malekith and the final family member. Illaria's new family was complete.

Name: Illaria Enfinati Age: 24 Gender: Female Appearance: Illaria Adorned with short, jagged black tresses and uncommonly crimson red eyes, it has been said that those characteristics bring about a rebirth in Meridian for reasons known to few. This picture is Illaria without her wings, which upon first appearance were black and white: the left black, the right white. Illaria stands at 5'7" and has a very slender build; it doesn't appeal for battle, but Illaria makes it work. Personality: Illaria is much like a peacekeeper; with her understanding of growth and evolution, she is patient and empathetic. This therefore, makes her approachable and much like a pillar for those around her when it is needed. However, when it is required that she fight, she isn't afraid to kill. It is in her belief that she kills for a reason to balance Nature and that reincarnation will take over after her judgement. Illaria has a strong sense of herself, but can adapt quickly if need be as that is Nature's way. Weapons: Illaria carries a whip that has many sharp thorns much like the stem of a rose; also in the case of a quick attack, she carries a dagger around her left hip. Pillar: The Guardian of Nature, a.k.a The Druid. Illaria can manipulate the amount of growth in any living creature and control earthly elements such as Fire, Wind, and Water for defense, etc. purposes.

I'm keeping an eye on England, France and Brazil. England for David Beckham, I was wishing that
the goal against Paraguay was his. I swore it was! But then I looked closer at the footage and saw that one of the players from Paraguay was the one who actually hit it with his head.
France for Zinedine Zidane, he 'came out of retirement' to play for France as a Midfielder. I've been a fan of his for a while. Funny story is that he and David Beckham played for Real Madrid, I've had a cloth banner of theirs since I was a freshman in high school which was...3 years ago. I always found that funny. And Brazil...well, that's kinda self-explanatory, that one. Ronaldinho is just amazing with his feet and yesterday in
their win against Croatia
, everyone played great as usual. The only thing about the World Cup schedule is that it'll run into my trip to Japan and I'll be so busy that I don't know if I can keep track of everything or not. If I'm lucky, it'll save itself on my TiVo.
