In fact, right now, in order to prepare for my state exams, I'm reading two books. [U]One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest[/U] by Ken Kasey and "The Metamorphosis" by German Existentialist, Franz Kafka. And man is it a pain in the butt! But luckily, the later of the two books mentioned is only eighty-something pages long. I also read various manga and manwha at my leisure, but those only take me about twenty minutes to read.[/FONT][/COLOR]

"Man, at least I'm full." He patted his stomach with a weak smile. That's when he thought of Alex. How different he seemed when those idiots showed up and tried to beat the crap out of him. And how caring he was, mentioning that he cares for everyone in their entire year. "Heh..." Drew chuckled. And even how Alex seemed to snap at him for his drinking. [I]"Have you been drinking at all lately?" "Not in the past couple of weeks, actually. I was thinking of quitting, but after what happened today, forget it." Drew smiled. "That's no reason to smile." Alex looked at him sternly.[/I] "Sorry Alex, but I always take the truth with a shot of whiskey." Drew walked over to his refrigerator and pulled out a wine cooler. "You shouldn't worry about me anyways. You'll give yourself an ulcer." It was tough for Drew as a child, he had suffered numerous beatings and mental breakdowns. He always tried to look strong for his younger brother, Jake, but it was Jake who always seemed to take care of him. They tried their best to look out for one another. No one knew [I]exactly[/I] what had happened in Drew's childhood, not even Micky and Amy, his own cousins. Drew wasn't even sure if they knew of his alcohol problem. Drew sat down on his futon and hooked his MP3 player up to a pair of portable speakers. Gackt's "Uncontrol" began blasting through the apartment as Drew opened the bottle and took a sip. He sat up against the wall. Drew curled up into a ball as he wrapped his arms around his legs and put his head down. "This is so goddamn stupid. Why do I drink anyway?!" He looked up, a dangerous glare in his eyes. "Screw it!" He stood up and threw the bottle against the wall, creating a crash and some of the glass and drink splattering all over the room, including himself. "I can't do it anymore..." Drew got back got up and walked over to the door again. He slipped his sandals back on and walked out. A few minutes later... Drew had been walking around enough to calm down and make some sense of himself. He was back to his normal self. "Hey, it's that punk!" A voice called out. Drew turned around to see those thugs that tried to mess with Alex earlier. "Oh great." They walked up to him, the leader with a swollen jaw from Alex. "Listen guys, I don't want any trouble." "Yeah, I'm sure you don't." The leader hissed. "Too bad for you that your little buddy isn't here to help you." "What the hell would you want from me?!" Drew started to get mad, he knew that he was going to have to fight his way out of this. "Oh, we just wanna play." Another thug remarked with a smirk. "We won't bite...hard." Yet another walked up beside the two. "Screw you..." Drew started to turn around before the leader put his hand on his shoulder. SMACK! Drew whipped around and his fist met with the leader's chest. "Don't you ever touch me." "Get...him..." The leader gasped as he fell to his knees. One of the thugs stepped forward and swung at Drew, just barely missing his face. "Come here, pretty boy!" He swung again. "Hey, I've got something for you!" The other pulled a knife. "SHIT!" Drew yelled as the knife sucessfully sliced into his left forearm, he fell over and looked up at the two. "Now, now...your friend should have known better than to mess with us." One grabbed him by the shirt and punched him in the face. A small line of blood dripped from his chin as he continued to hit him at least once or twice. Drew felt the pain throb in his face and arm. Blood was getting on his clothes and mixing with the smell of the wine cooler. He mustered up a bit of strength and nailed the thug in the head. He let go and Drew dropped to the ground. He got up quickly and lunged at the other, kicking him in the knee and breaking it. "Mess with me again and you'll regret it." That's when it finally hit Drew that Alex's counterpart wasn't there. "Hey, where's Jace?" "He's back at home, sleeping." "Ah...couldn't blame him, I'm getting rather tired, too." Drew replied. "No." Drew answered as he opened the alcohol bottle and grabbed some gauze. "Just a few scrapes. I went back inside to save a friend of mine, but I'm alright." Drew had gone home by himself before the principal made that announcement. He snuck away from Kyo, Amy, and Micky during the commotion. Drew was always like that, he didn't want anyone else to worry about him. That's why Drew really left, but he knew that his drinking didn't help. Jake, his little brother, was the one who worried the most. "Mom, I have to go." Drew replied. "No, please, talk to me." She began to cry. "You've never opened up to me, Andrew." "Really, I have to go. I have to check on Micky and Amy." He lied. "Andrew Jinsei Takeda! You promise me you'll be careful." His mother called him by his full name. "Yeah Mom." Drew replied before hanging up. "I just hope everyone else is okay." He sighed and put his face in his hands. Drew took care of the small wounds by wrapping them up and bandaging them. Afterward, he decided to take a walk, so he grabbed his MP3 player, a present from his little brother. He proceeded to get dressed in a black T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and some Nike sandals. Before leaving, Drew grabbed his soccer ball and decided that he would dribble it around town for a while since there wouldn't be any practice today...[/FONT][/COLOR]

It's really late, so bear with me on this. :p I've seen a lot of people in my area take a recent interest in lacrosse, professionally and otherwise. I was wondering if anyone else had taken in this interest. Being a Native American and lacrosse being my native sport, I have always been interested in it. But like I said, I was wondering if anyone else has taken an interest, and even further, taken an interest in the Professional game. The NLL (National Lacrosse League) is somewhat small, it has ten teams in ten major cities. Anaheim, Arizona, [B]Buffalo[/B], Calgary, Colorado, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Rochester, San Jose, and Toronto. Is there anyone else out there?[/FONT][/COLOR]

I think Funi did a very good job with their part in Fruits Basket. John Burgmeier's work with the script was phenomenal, and it was praised by many magazines as the respective year's most natural sounding dub. And for an English version, I thought that the voice actors were casted rather nicely. Each VA seemed to handle their character just fine, and you could tell that it really worked out. [COLOR=Navy][FONT=Palatino Linotype]The best teachers I've EVER had? Well, over the past two years, I've had some magnificent English-Literature teachers. And you know that English isn't always your favorite subject, it can be rather tedious. But these two teachers have been able to make it a lot better. [B]Miss Morgan[/B], she's the High School's AP (Advanced Placement) Language teacher (a.k.a. Honors English for Seniors) and she also teaches Freshman year English. That's where I had her. She's young and uppity, and always has an optimistic attitude. She helped the boys in my class realize that poetry wasn't that bad because a lot of the music they listened to was a form of poetry itself. She never assigned a lot of homework either. Miss Morgan also is the head of the School's Literary Club, a magazine that I help out with as the Short Story Editor. She's very creative on how to put our works together. [B]Mr. Desing[/B], my current English teacher. He teaches Honors English 10, English 10 and Senior Speech & Theatre. I see him for Honors English 10. He's a lot like Miss Morgan, young and uppity. But because he's participated in theatre, he's a little more "playful" than Miss Morgan. He's done some of the most complicated works with us. Two stories called "Anthem" by Ayn Rand and "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka. And sometimes they were really screwed up and really boring, but when he would read parts in an impression of his, we couldn't help but laugh and think of it making sense with his explanations. He's always able to keep most of the classes interest, but we always seem to talk too much.[/FONT][/COLOR]

He ran in and slid on his knees next to Kyo.[B] "Kyo! Kyo! Wake up!"[/B] He yelled and shook him. Kyo's eyes flickered open and that's when Drew noticed that he had a line of blood flowing from his head. [B]"Shit."[/B] Drew muffled through his tie. [B]"C'mon, I'll get you out of here."[/B] He struggled to sit up, and Drew wrapped his arm around him and picked him up. He figured it was best to just carry Kyo on his back, it would be a lot easier. Kyo rested his head on Drew's shoulder as Drew ran to the entrance of the classroom. He ran down the hall and Kyo began coughing. [B]"Hang on. It's just a little farther."[/B] Drew muffled as he reached the exit corridor. He ran out and across the way towards Amy and Micky. He dropped to his knees and let Kyo off of his back. [B]"Amy, see if you can get some help from one of the teachers for his head."[/B] She nodded. Kyo opened his eyes again. As a quick reflex, his arm raised in the air and dropped onto his small digital alarm clock. "Man..." He groaned into his pillow. "It's way too early for all of this!" He sat up and shook his head, his tuffs of blonde bedhead dancing wildly. He stood up, stretched, and walked into the bathroom. He brushed his teeth and washed his hair and face, then walked out into his living room/bedroom. "Now, I know I had my uniform out and ready last night." He said to himself in regard to his small dilemma. 'Think Drew! Think!' "Oh!" He walked over to the coffee table and opened the large storage door underneath the surface. Sure enough, the uniform waited, begging to be worn. Drew pulled it out, throwing the shirt on while struggling with the pants. He grabbed the tie and slung it around his neck after he was done putting his socks on. Drew was never one to handle a tie, and he wasn't about to start now. He set his schoolbag down by the door and went into the kitchen. Drew opened the refrigerator door, a six-pack of wine coolers and other necessities greeted him. He grabbed the unopened carton of "Moo Moo Strawberry Milk" and opened it up. He then walked over to the small cupboard above the stovetop. With the other hand, he pulled out a small bottle labeled "Vitamins" in his chicken scratch writing. He popped it open and pulled out two capsules, throwing them in his mouth. He chugged the strawberry milk, and this is what Drew called "breakfast". Drew stopped whe the previously full carton was about halfway gone, and smiled when he realized that he had a pink milk mustache. He wiped his mouth and closed the carton, placing back in the refrigerator afterwards. *~Outside the Apartment Complex~* Drew was walking along to school, when Micky and Amy caught up to him. As Panda and x kakashi x have mentioned, with today's technology, it would be so much easier to get information because of the internet and what not. Nowadays, parents have to make sure that their kids aren't seeing [I]too[/I] much. But my mother and I aren't that far apart in years to the point where it would have much effect. We, in fact, are only sixteen years apart. The reason she did drop out was to give birth to me. She is smarter than me when it comes to the "street smarts", but she always believes what matters more is the education we recieve in school. We've both went to the same school, even had some of the same teachers. One of my teachers held me after class one time and told how much smarter I was than my mom, and that we were complete opposites. He told me that he never did expect my mom to go to college, and felt that I should strive to get into an Ivy League school. I didn't know whether to hit him or say thank you for that half insult/half complement comment. I just walked out without a word. I didn't like what he said about my mother.[/FONT][/COLOR]

[COLOR=Navy][FONT=Palatino Linotype]I was watching Blue Collar TV's Jeff Foxworthy in his special: Totally Committed. And he mentioned that his kids are so much smarter than he is. This got me thinking about my own family, and I've noticed that a lot of the members of the younger generations are definitely smarter than the older ones. Now, only a few of my family members have actually gone to college, I will soon be one of them. But, being older and posessing a little more knowledge than my mother, I have to help out a lot more with my little brother's homework. She relies on me to do a lot when it comes to things like that. My mom always tells me that she hopes that I never make the same mistakes as she did. Dropping out and not going back to high school. She did get her GED, but she desperately wishes that she could have gone to college. But I know I'm not the only one, so speak up. Are you smarter than your parents, or any other older family member at all? If so, are there any other particular responsibilities that you have had to take up? (My curiousity got the better of me for once.)[/FONT][/COLOR]

Atlantic City to hang around the boardwalk and get some pizza (I liked those guys that used regular household objects as a drum set), and Toronto, Albany and Rochester to see some pro lacrosse players(friends of the family). Toronto is a really nice city, I think I would live there if I didn't move to Tokyo or stay here. I like the Air Canada Centre, it's really big. And on Memorial Weekend, I'll be going to Charlotte, North Carolina for another NASCAR race. I've also been to some place in Ohio...close to Cedar Point, I stayed at this place called the Great Bear Lodge. I liked the water park in the hotel, the water slides were cool. Well now, I can't wait for the map to show up. I forgot to mention this on my character's bio, but the apartment complex he lives at is called Sakura Central. (Sorry, creative juices have been sucked out at the moment like my attention span in Geometry. :p) This is a great RPG Idea.

[U]Location:[/U] [Coming Soon] Sakura Central Apartment Complex [U]Personality:[/U] Drew is a partier, he's very outgoing and friendly. Did I mention drunk? Okay, so he likes to drink, and he can be very loud sometimes. He can get to be a bit annoying, but hey, Drew can't be perfect, can he? :p Everyone seems to get along with him, because he's just so giddy. He's never without a smile, and if he is, something's wrong. He's that "live in the moment" kind of guy, and somewhat apathetic (doesn't care about a lot of things, this includes his math grade). He likes hanging out with his cousin Micky (in fact, they are almost inseparable at most times), and drink illegally with Jace. (Hehee...:D) [U]Short History:[/U] Drew was born in Tokyo to the owners of an apartment complex. When he was young, he and his little brother Jake had to abide by strict rules, this is the most likely reason as to why he acts like such an idiot now. Over time, he and his little brother became very good at drawing and because of the fact that these were two of the few things they were allowed to do in their free time. This is why he can draw so well now. It's rare to find him without his sketchbook under his arm or a soccer ball at his feet. Drew moved to Kitakata over the summer to attend school with his cousin, Micky, although he stays in a small apartment on his own.
