I'm pretty sure I've heard of them at some point, but never actually heard their music. I will have to check it out sometime. :D

Invader Zim was awesome. :D I still go to IZ fansites and take interest the petitions to bring him back to TV. The animation was a refreshing, unique break from all the other cartoons out there. And Invader Zim led me to look at Jhonen's other works, like Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. :rolleyes: Yes, very good show.

I'm going to admit that reading through this thread changed my mind about punk music. Not long ago I was the whole ,"Avril and Charlotte suck, dude, let's go down to Hot Topic, listen to some metal and headbang!". :D It's nice to see people not labeling themselves. In my small, sheltered Catholic school (I'm in the 8th grade), there are about 4 or 5 people who truly like the whole punk scene. So we are now labeled as "satanist, rebel, goth freaks". And we are promptly feared. But it's fun in a way I guess...... :rolleyes: . Sure I am mostly a metalhead, but I was ashamed of my secret...... I am a JPop lover :D . So reading this has helped me to accept all different kinds of music without being labeled.

I don't think I've seen any Jhonen Vasquez-related posts here, so I was wondering...... What do you all think of him and his work? Personally, I enjoy most of his work. I like his art style, kind of surreal-ish. It's definately his own. Invader Zim caught my interest, and now I've moved on to Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (JtHM). Now, I don't read JtHM because I enjoy gory death scenes (I almost wish he could do without them). I read it because I enjoy Jhonen's art style. :D What about you?

Well, I've had many memorable Halloweens. But I think my favorite was this past one. My boyfriend invited me over to his friend's house with all his other guy friends so we could go trick-or-treating together. (Yes, I still trick-or-treat ;) ) It didn't bother me being the only girl there since I get along better with them anyway. But this guy lived in a neighborhood with a bunch of die-hard Catholic families with small children. So of course we decked out our black clothes and went goth. Adorned in black lipstick, studded chokers and Slipknot T-shirts, we headed out to scare the world. I seriously think a few people were genuinely scared of us. It was fun :love: . Haha, I wish I had a truly funny story to tell.

I love Nny! I love the character, but I don't think I like the gory stuff. Call me chicken, but killing just dosen't appeal to me. I love Nny though, because he's cool! I want his boots...... :love: I also like Invader Zim very much. Zipper teeth! :)

Yay! I'm not alone! XD Yes, the movie is great. Another thing that appeals to me is that it has a surreal, gothica atmosphere, yet has such a simple, innocent plot! It's great, kind of like goth without all the blood, death, and depression. Just how I like it! Jack Skellington is scary on the outside, but is so nice on the inside. Unless he does that thing where he scares Lock, Shock, and Barrel. Remember? :D Heh. I will stop raving about Jack now. :love:

This has to be one of my all-time favorite movies. I love the plot, characters, music, everything! I know many who think it is just plain weird, but I just can't get enough of it! Just for the record, I was wondering if there were any more TNBC fans in the wonderful world of Otakudom, or am I alone? Also, I would like to know what appeals to you in the movie, whatever it may be. Jack Skellington Forever! :love: :love: :love:

Big yay for the Gravitation manga! I haven't read the real thing yet, just a few scanlations. I hope to pick up some copies this Christmas. ;) I've heard many opinions of the manga, good and bad. Some people I've talked with say the style of the art turns them away. I happen to think its pretty cute art! (But that's just my opinion ^_^) I just love their eyes! :love: Haha, sry. Was I getting OT? (BTW, First post!)
