What comes to mind when you think of Australia?
celestialcharm replied to drakkeness's topic in General Discussion
When I think of Austrailia, I think of DOOM! There's so many poisonous animals there from what I read and saw on tv. There's spiders, snakes, scorpians...the PLATYPUS! Also, I think about the geological aspects, like the Great Barrier Reef and having winter when it's summer in Canada. Then there's that kookaburra song...and other weird looking animals. -
What's your geekiest purchase?
celestialcharm replied to vegeta rocker's topic in General Discussion

My geekiest purchase? Hmm, does a book on Geology count? Or rather, does screaming with euphoria and hyperventilating to the point of losing consciousness at the sight of Earth: An Introduction to Physical Geology sound geeky to you?
I want that! I love Geology! I would have probably done the same thing... :animeswea
However as of recently I think my Geekiest purchace was a 12 case pack of Ramune which I may say was an abasolute ***** to open till I read the directions on it.
I bought that at con! It is as addcitive as I think crack would be! It took my brother and I about 7 minutes to figure out how to open it. I didn't even know it had a real name! I just called it Japanese fizzy water with a marble in it. Anyways, my geekiest purchase had to be a Giant box of Pocky. I went to London, Ontario last weekend, and I saw it at the store. I never knew they sold giant pocky in a normal supermarket(and never seen it), so I bought it! I couldn't just leave the store knowing that I could have gotten my hands on a box of giant pocky...Plus the box is bigger than my head. It was a $13.79 well spent. -
Not only do they make fun of the yaoi fangirls with Generic Girls 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, but they also make fun of female otaku. Who? Renge! The girl blurs reality and her video games, likes to classify people into stereotypes, and enjoys 'cosplay'. She just randomly appears with her 'High-Powered Motor" and then dictates how things should be. Renge is a bag of fun. XD
I LOVE OURAN!! :animeswea Renge is a classic! She is a very fun character, and I gotta love them yoai fangirls. Back to the anime/manga--I don't even know how I found out about it. It's one of those type of things that just happened, then I ended up obsessed. But, it's probably because of the whole crossdressing shojo genre. I'm obsessed with those. What's better than a crossdressing girl in a harem of guys? My favourite characters are Kyouya and Hikaru and Koaru. Kyouya is just great. He reminds me alot of myself. I'm the last of four children two, and the last girl. I'm glad that I'm not rich. Then I'd have something to worry about. Anyways, I was told that I am a bit 'demonic' in the mornings too. I wonder if my blood type is AB... Now, how can you not like the twins?! They are full of fan service, and no I'm not a yoai fan-girl... or maybe I'm just in denial? Anyways, I love all of the characters. Honey-senpai is just cute, Mori is cool (he's a giant!), Tamaki is well... Tamaki and Haruhi is just like my sister! They are both so blunt and don't really think about what they say, but are so sweet you just have to forgive them. I just finsihed watching the last episode, and it was great. Tears came to my eyes. I'm glad the manga is still ongoing.

To tell you the truth, my dad's a stay-at-home-dad and my mom's on sick leave. My dad used to work as a truck painter, but then he got carpel tunnel. He had to have surgery on his hand to take out a lump that was in his wrist. Then, he hurt his back. But, he is officially a mechanic, and fixes our family cars, and makes cool objects such as sheds and closets for our house. But, he also cooks dinner because my mom has been on a not-making-your-dinner strike from since about '98. My dad is also the family chauffeur. He drives around my mom's aunts to wherever they need to go. It's kinda cool because both sides of my family can rely on him. My mom doesn't even appreciate him! I think he might become a truck driver, or a public transit driver. I saw him studying for the license test. Anyways, my mom was a nurse. She used to work at a long term care centre for the Jewish elderly. She worked there for I think 20+ years. She even tells me how I should be eating kosher. She used to bring my siblings and I grape matzah. That was some good stuff. But, she's going through a nurse burnout, and hurt her shoulder. Now, she's not any fun to be around. She's kind of emo.
I've wanted to see this movie so badly ever since there was a small blurb about it in Entertainment Weekly at the beginning of this year. Then it got rated R and I was pretty disappointed. >_> I'm hoping that we'll just be able to pass. We're almost seventeen. P:
Heh, it was 14A in Canada. The movie theaters I go to usually don't even check my age, and I look like I'm 12.
Two,
The two brothers needed to die horrible deaths. I was waiting for it the entire movie. Their survival was depressing.

I think they
lived because their dad was in the army.
Maybe it was a subliminal message?
Three,
the baby lives?!

I guess
the baby had to live because it was either it or the old woman. I guess being young won. ;)

I only have one question about this movie. Snakes hybernate when it gets cold - why didn't they simply turn the A/C up so high that the snakes either stopped moving or slowed down? I would have thought that'd be an obvious solution and I'm kinda surprised nobody in the film thought of it.
Hmm, I don't think it could have even worked because these are super snakes on a plane. ;) Anywas, I saw this movie a few weeks ago, and I thought it was jokes. I kept laughing at everything that I wasn't supossed to laugh at. Like the
brother's death.
But, if they would have snuck snakes on a plane,
couldn't that dude who told the mafia guy that they were on a different plane shoot the witness?
Meh, but then there wouldn't be a movie. I guess they just really wanted to use the idea of snakes on a plane. And it was nice not seeing
any black people die for once. I thought at least one would die.

I sympathize with you to a point. Because I absolutely hate throwing up. But they day before I was diagnosed with hyper active thyroid I threw up ten times in the course of six hours. And since it took the endocrynologists a few months to regulate my meds there were days I threw up like four or five times just at random.
I have a hyper active thyroid too. Sometimes I throw up randomly too. Especially if I sit in the sun or a hot place for too long. Anyways, this wasn't my barfing experience, but my eldest sister's. When I was younger, we were sitting around and watching TV. I noticed that she was eating cherries. I noticed that she didn't have any cherry pits. So,I asked her what she did with them and she said she ate them! She was too lazy to get up and throw them away. My brother and I told her she shouldn't do that, but she didn't listen. So, she finished all of her cherries and eventually she didn't feel too good. She got up and ran to the washroom (which was luckily next too the room) and she threw it all up! I think I went to see if she was ok. And she was. All I remember was that it looked nasty because the seeds were all in it.

Ouran High School Host Club, hands down. No random danger threats or evil villains... just sweet, sweet, lovin' from a bunch of hot guys. Oh, the crack that would ensue. There are tons of "normal-world" anime out there. It'd be pretty sweet, seeing as you'd automatically have perfect skin and hair. And a rockin' bod. And so would all the members of the opposite sex. :]
I was thinking about how it would be like to visit there school! Anyways, as I read most of the posts, I was thinking the same thing. Not all anime is samurai, crazy villain shinobi- I'll end up dying in that world-ness. With the 'normal-world' anime there situations are pretty bad too. Well, actually, I wouldn't mind crossdressing and living in a boy's high school dorm, in order for my father to live his dreams of being in the NBA through me, as well as slowly falling in love with my roomate. But then again, that's just me. Plus, I'd end up being one of them 'megane' characters. How could I say no to that? ;) So basically, if the anime world was like a shojo (imagine the cherry blossoms blowing behind you in the background??) then I don't think I'd mind our world being that way.
Steve Irwin has died at 44 years of age, filming a documentary on dangerous sea creatures. He was stabbed by a stingray's barb, and it either struck his heart or struck close enought to his heart to give him a fatal heart attack. Your thoughts?
My sister warned me this morning that my mom was going to be boasting about his death. I think she likes when people die. It gives her something to talk about. Personally, I thought that it was the most surprising death for him. He's been sting and bitten by a whole bunch of other, but a stingray was the one that caught him? :animesigh I'm really starting to think that there was a bet going on between the animals in the animal kingdom. I guess the stingrays won. But it was so depressing. To me, he seemed almost invincible, but I guess he was just human. But, I don't think he really died. He probably just swum over to an elite island in the South Pacific to join Princess Di, Aaliyah, Tupac, Left Eye, Mother Teresa, Biggie Smalls and whatever other stars that are supposedly -dead-. Until then, I'll be dusting out my purple spandex. ;) Anyhoo, my sister lost her cellphone last year. She really loved it, and still talks about how great it was. Even if you hate the guy who owns the thing, return it for all those who had lost a piece of technology in their lifetime. It's never too late to redeem yourself! Even if you're probably caught... :animeswea

I'm afraid of spiders, and I developed a weird phobia of... horses.... Ok, with the spiders, I don't like how they have tonnes of eyes and eight legs. I don't like anytype of spiders. I remember when I was on the streetcar last week, there was a spider on my bag. I freaked out and threw it on the ground. Anyways, I have no idea how I developed a phobia of horses. To me, they are too tall, they kick, and they have eyes at the sides of their heads. They just kind of creep me out in person. I can look at a picture of a horse, but a picture of a spider freaks me out. I think that's all I'm afraid of.

Does anyone else here have big feet, like size 12 [13 US] and find it hard to get comfortable shoes ?
My sister wears size 12 woman's... O.o Luckily for me, my size is 8 1/2 in heels, or 9- 91/2 in sneakers.
You know I never really got what it was with people and having a number of shoes, many of which they probably won't even wear. Or, I wear my black leather shoes I bought from Payless. I love those shoes. They are totally flat, but I can handle them. But, I was never one to destroy my shoes. My brother's shoes always end up being able to talk (the front of it becomes detached from the bottom) because he destroys them so much! How do people destroy their shoes?

Then my family moved around and eventually landed here in Kansas, where everyone calls it pop, and sometimes soda. Pop is just a horribly stupid name, so, knowing my omni-Coke ways would cause too much hassle, I just started calling it soda, which is pretty bearable.
-GASP- I think calling it soda is stupid. When my cousin came from New York, she always called pop soda, and that annoys me for some reason. Meh, it's all the same thing anyways. :animesigh Anyways, I think my favourite pop was C-plus until they cut down on the sugar in it. If I wanted to drink more healthy I could just drink water, right? I also like Orange Fanta, Cherry Coke, Dr. Pepper and Ting. Ting is the best! Every time visits from St. Kitts, I tell them to bring me back some Ting. I don't really like it when it's from Jamaica because it tastes different. Does anyone else find with soft drinks from other countries that the tastes are different? That lemonade generic pop was really good. I also like the cranberry pop too. I really hate Vanilla Coke and Vanilla Pepsi. It reminds me of when my siblings and I were younger, my mom made us drink milk with Coke, or else we couldn't drink any Coke at all. Good riddance Vanilla Coke! ;)

So, has anyone ever had a "best" barfing experience?[/size']
Heeheehee, I did. When I was thirteen, my motion-sickness came back. I went to Europe this year, and on the plane to France it just wouldn't level! It was swaying back and forth and I could feel the contents of my stomach moving side to side. I eventually fell asleep. After an hour or so, I woke up, took the barf bag, threw up and fell back asleep. I say it was good, because I never threw up on myself, and I was able to go to sleep again. Also, the random person beside me never even woke up, so it's all good. Anyways, my worst barfing experience was sometime last year. I don't remember the occasion, but I went to a Chinese All-You-Can-Eat Buffet with my family. I ate myself silly. When I got home, I felt really thirsty. It was beacuse of my thyroid problem but that's a different story. Anyhoo, I just had to drink some ginger ale. It was just about an inch of it when I realized that I didn't feel so good. So I went upstairs to the washroom. I just sat in front of the toilet then after awhile I threw up all over the washroom rug, and on myself and stuff. Half way digested Chinese food doesn't look that good. As I cleaned it up, I realised that that was good food gone to waste! Good thing I never told my parents about it. They would have yelled to me about wasting food.

My room is PINK, not by choice. I'm just happy to have a room. Until grade 6 or 7, I had to sleep on the couch. Then, I took over my eldest sister's side of the room when she went off to university. Anyways, my room is really tiny! We bought a bunk bed last summer because my two sisters and I had to all share that room. We used to put two twin beds together, and I was forced to sleep in the middle. So, we got rid of one of them. My room has some anime and harry potter posters to cover the walls (I would love to paint the walls purple.) My blanket has sunflowers on it, and my sheets have the moon and stars. We have a wooden bureaux in front of the bunk bed. But, we have a whole lot of clothes on the ground. My eldest sister and I have wayy to much clothes! Since she's done universary now, we're in a deliema. Our closet is too small, and it's too hard to get into. But, under the clothes on the floor is a green bathroom carpet. I like it because it's so soft. I like how green looks with pink, so I bought me a green stool from Ikea. On it has random items like teddy bears, a picture frame with Sasuke on it, etc. I also have a bookshelf thingy that one of my sister's asked my dad to put in, so I took it over when she left, and now put my manga on it. I also put some random stuffed animals on the shelves. So, I think that's all I have about my room. It's nothing special. I'm not allowed to have a computer or tv in it (not just because I don't have the space) but because my parents think I'm going to do something bad on it. :animestun

1. Are you a band geek? Yes, I am a band geek and damn proud about it!! 2. Do you play an instrument or instruments? Not really... 3. If so, what instrument or instruments do you play? Keyboards, 5-string guitar (all horribly) 4. Do you play in your school band? Nope... 5. do you have your own band? Nope, I'm an innocent groupie in my friend's band though... So, you're probably wondering how a person so untalented like me can be called a band geek. Well, somehow I weaved my way into hanging out with the band. My brother and some people I know are/were in the band. One day, my friend had this conversation (I was hanging out with the band...) and they started talking about being band geeks. Then my friend labelled me as one because I'm always there... So, I am a band geek. A band geek that doesn't have to learn sheet music.

My name is Charlene Josephine -insert weird last name here-
CHARLENE Gender: Feminine Usage: English Pronounced: shahr-LEEN, chahr-LEEN [key] Feminine pet form of CHARLES

CHARLES Gender: Masculine Usage: English, French Pronounced: CHAHR-ulz (English), SHARL (French) [key] From the Germanic name Karl, which was derived from a Germanic word which meant "man". However, an alternative theory states that the name is derived from the common Germanic element heri meaning "army, warrior". The most noteworthy bearer of this name was Charles the Great, commonly known as Charlemagne, a king of the Franks who came to rule over most of Europe. Several Holy Roman Emperors bore this name, as well as kings of England, France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden and Hungary. Other famous bearers include naturalist Charles Darwin who revolutionized biology with his theory of evolution, and novelist Charles Dickens who wrote such works as 'Great Expectations' and 'A Tale of Two Cities'.

JOSÉPHINE Gender: Feminine Usage: French Pronounced: zho-zay-FEEN [key] French feminine form of JOSEPH. A notable bearer of this name was the first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. Ah siblings, sometimes we love 'em sometimes we strongly dislike 'em. I have three older siblings (2, 5 and 7 years older than me), and I have to say that being the youngest isn't all that great. Sure, when I was younger I was a tattletail, but that was because they would make fun of me. Before I learned how to read or write, they would write messages to each other. Then when I could read and write, they found another way to tease me. And that was speaking French. I used to be an annoying kid. You know the one who follows her older sisters, or brother around. But, that's because I looked up to them. I just wished that I was that cool. Plus, they could get me to do almost anything (still can.) My eldest sister really hated this guy. One day, she brought me to school or something and she told me to kick him in his croutch. Of course I did it, she and her friends laughed at him as they saw the grin on my face. My siblings can be annoying sometimes. The eldest just loves to annoy me (makes fun of my teenaged angst.) It doesn't help that we share a room when she's home from school (which is alot) and she's completely done university on July 31st. My second eldest sister is just blunt. She likes to crush my dreams. When she's home, she shares my room too (I used to not even have a room until they left for school.) It sucks the most when all three of us are in one room in the summer. Now, my brother, the only boy, he's just cool. He's always so calm, and is always playing some type of Nintendo system. By living in a house full of woman (I feel sorry for him and my dad) he knows alot of stuff which can kind of be a bit strange. Once, my sister came home with a certain type of pantiliners (it smelled like lilacs) and he told her that a tv show called 'Street Cents' said that those may as well be used as tea bags because they just suck. :animestun But, I love them! It's so nice to have people that I could talk to and tell them about anything. What I like about older siblings is that they have more experience with life than I have had. Plus, they like to buy me nice things. Random articles of clothes, food, oh yeah being the youngest rocks! ;)

I didn't like my sixteenth birthday. I was feeling ill, but I still went to the movies with my friends. I think we went shopping after and had cake. The only thing weird that happened was that my friends shared a changeroom at the clothing store and the guy that worked there kept flirting with them. How about karaoke? I REALLY want to do that on my birthday, but I have to do some church thing because it's on this coming Sunday. Anyways, Happy Birthday in advance.

I am FINALLY finished exams. My last one was chemistry which was today. Tomorrow, I have a team BBQ with my archery team. My birthday's on July 2nd, so I'll try to get something free out of it. Like go to a restaurant where I'd get a free meal. On July 15th, I'm going to go to Playdium where some of my school friends have a gig. I feel so bad for not being able to go to their first gig. But, at least for this one if anything I could take the bus. Plus, since it is Playdium, there's DDR which is a perk. My sister would love for me to visit in London, ON. I've been wanting to attend her classes in university to see how a lecture is. And it's a form of propaganda to get me to go to that school. Meh, I'm already persuaded. In August, I might go to Caribana. It's a Caribbean festival with floats and crazy costumes. Plus, there's great music. Well, in my opinion anyways. The rest of the summer, I plan to finish RE4. I'm still on the first disk  Maybe I'll try harder to get a job if I don't get accepted into summer school (I'm still on the waiting list.)

Perhaps the most interesting scene is Mangeto moving the chess piece right at the end, after apparently losing all his powers. You could say that either the cure was temporary, or it simply did not work on Mangeto/wasn't strong enough.

You have to remember they said
the cure only surpresses the gene.

That aside, this ICv2 article touches on why "formidable obstacles actually make an X4 unlikely--at least with the same cast." ~Dagger~
Well, they can change the cast ONLY if Gambit would be in the next movie. ;) Anyways, I thought the movie was ok. I feel bad because I was supossed to wait until my sisters came home to watch it. Oh well. Now what I thought of the film:
The beginning was so confusing! You know how they said 20 years before, then 10 years before? Did they means 10 years after the 20 years before or the the middle of the 20 years before?! Why did they have to be so confusing! The new mutants were cool I guess. I really wanted to see Jubilee in action in this film, but I guess not. Plus, it seemed that she got rid of her signature yellow coat. I loved the part when Scott went crazy. I was never a fan of the whole Jean/Scott shipper. Maybe it's because I don't like Jean, but then again I don't like Scott too... The part I hated was when Rouge got herself the vaccine. So you can't touch your boyfriend? La dee da! It doesn't matter because your going to have some on and off against romance with Gambit! I guess I only feel disappointed in the film because I really miss Gambit. I know I'm a bit obsessed, and I knew he wouldn't make it in the film but come on! If they could afford to buy all that blue paint and hair for the Beast, they can't even buy some contacts and trench coat for Gambit? I'm sure they could get the contacts on a discount for buying bulk. Now for his coat, I'm sure they still have some in inventory from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
