I know it's old school, but why hasn't anyone metioned [spoiler] Setsuko's death [/spoiler] in Grave of the Fireflies. So far that's the only anime death that's made me cry and not just a few tears either. :animecry: [spoiler] Maes Hughes death in FMA was really sad too. Why did he have to die!?[/spoiler]

I bought Altelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm for the PS2 yesterday and it's great. It's a fairly typical Japanese rpg. You play with a team of 2 raiders: Edge and Iris (so far I haven't got any new party members). A raiders job is to full fil quests for the guild. So you spend most of your time going into Alterworlds slaying monsters, finding cats for people and collecting items you can use for synthesizing. It's really good fun. I also like the fact that I can set the voices to Japanese. :catgirl: On the way to school and back I tend to play FFIII on my DS. I've already gotten the Invincible (again :p a lot of final fantasies seem to have this ship).

The Cardcaptors opening song done again in Dutch.....Let's not go there :animedepr Other than that the season 2 Genshiken opening theme springs to mind. It's not that I totally hate it. I just think it sucks *** compared to the first two Manzo songs. ;)

i am so jealous of you :animecry: last year i spoke to someone at the animecon, who's studing japanese. He said that in his year there were only like 3 other animefans! you'd think there'd be a lot more, wouldn't you! I know about 4 other people around here how are also like manga. 2 of them are my brothers friends and the other 2 classmates i don't get along with. all i can say is long live the internet! otherwise i'd really have nobody to talk to about anime ;)

maybe england is bad, but holland is definatly worse. trust me i've lived here allmost my whole live :D in england you have more chance of getting your hands on manga, because the america comics don't need translating. here they do, so finding them is a bugger. as for cons, there are only two that i know of in this country a year. i went to 1 last year which was great, but there both at the other side of the country :animecry: i can hardly get to them. the international film festival in rotterdam (which is quit near me) did show anime among other things, so maybe that's an option for you

this is a though question :( with some series i prefer manga and with some anime, but most of the time i like them both just as much. with Yu-gi-oh for instance I prefer the manga, I think it's funnier than the anime. Series with a lot of fights, like dragonball or angelic layer, i prefer as anime, because i think fightsences come accros better on telly ;)

I live in Holland, so that just goes to show what a huge difference there is in the ratings there and here. ;) I don't have a lot of dvd's (lack of money :( ) but I have some Noir ones and there rated 12+ as well. Mind you i see a lot of letters from parents who think pokemon should be banned because it's voilent :confused:

I can really relate to Alice from Alice 19th. She has a hard time saying what she really thinks, just like me. I always try to please everybody around me, so I just end up saying what they what me to hear. Also I'm not popular and I always get a crush on boys who are :( I wish a white rabit would help me out ;)

I started when watching anime when I was twelve, which is to say my brother started watching and I was choiceless. I started with Pokémon, but it was Dragonball Z that really got me hooked. ;) The problem is over here in Holland we still have only a handfull of series and their all kiddy. :( The only show I watch regurally is Shin-Chan :D The only other series you can see here are: Pokémon and Yugioh. The rest I have to buy on DVD, but I don't have enough money :( Some months ago they were showing cyborg 009, but the stop broadcasting before the serie finished :mad: I want more anime on my tv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the thing about kidnaping orphans is true, I saw it on the news. :( They managed to save 20 kids, that's how they knew it wasn't just a rumor. I think it's great that so many people are getting together and collecting money and so, but it's kinda sad that it takes something as big as this to make them do it Still keep the money rolling :) Casandra
