lol, you remind me of my little sister.:animesmil Yeah, I recently had this conversation with her when she was getting frustrated with her art. We both love anime and manga and love to draw and create stories. However, she gets frustrated more easily than I do and even more seeing her skill compared to mine which has had the opportunity to grow and mature. It's hard for her to understand that everyone has their different styles just like everyone has their different taste in everything else in the world and even different perspectives on any other subject. We are all different, but sometimes we come across people who share similarities to us. These people are the ones you are most likely to bond with and can often help you to appreciate your own abilities. You come to learn and grow from them and even from those completely different from you. Sorry, this is TOTALLY off topic. I do that sometimes. :animeswea I think every artist goes through some kind of angst whether its not feeling that they are living up to their own personal expectations or realizing and valuing a certain art style or degree of talent which we ourselves do not have. (Artist envy) STILL!! It can only be help by the artist him or herself coming to terms with themselves and assessing the matter in a way where they can still learn their own style and challenge it in such a way that will help them better define the basis of who they are. :animestunARGH!! I'm confusing myself!! I hope this makes sense on SOME level...I used to be so much better at this. The point is: Artist or no artist there are some things in life that people often feel didn't come out how they expected it to be and it sometimes causes depression within us. The best way to get over this angst is to take a deep breath recognize your errors and try to do better next time. The key is to have the patience to develop your skills and not to be scared to challenging yourself. Don't be afraid of failure because it is when you fail that you learn the essentials to leading the life you want. lol, sorry if I read too much into your post...:animeswea
After finishing my Tifa (Advent Children) costume, I want to create another success. Now the boundries are: I will not dye my hair or get a weird haircut, no nudity, nothing to difficult yet I want to show off my body. So here are my choices that I have been considering: Rikku (FFX) [?
I think this would be beset if you don't want anything that too revealing on you, but will show off your body. :animesweaI think besides for the Lain the others might be so. Do you have a pic of your Tifa outfit? I LOVE seeing cosplay people!! :catgirl: I do some myself for Halloween, but NEVER have a camera handy.:animeangr
Recently I watched this with a few friends expecting to get scared, but it didn't scare me and by the end of the film it had opend my eyes and made me really think about Morality and if there was some type of Entity out there. So what did this movie do for you, I have a friend who didn't get anything from the movie so don't feel embarrasedabout your answer. Fixed the typo in the thread title for you. -Clurr
:wow: I LOVED IT!!!! lol, I just love hearing true stories and religion in a movie. I am a Catholic and always love the tales of Saints. They inspire me and help me in times that I feel most hopeless. The movie moved me, but especially when they showed Rose choosing to stay in her mortal body. I started crying for her. :bawl: Which is a big thing for me seeing how I don't often cry at movies. I immediately got the special edition DVD and it made me appreciate the movie even more. I laughed at the part where the camera man filming Emily Rose at the possesion part in the barn. They were so freaked out and it's just mind blowing to me that no special effects were used on her. I know some say it's not at all true, but I sincerely believe it to be. It's not just a horror story that some wanted it to be like the Excorist, it's an inspiration tale to those who believe in God and everything he is. Maybe that's why people weren't so moved by it?

I remember loving to watch it when it first started...but I got lost somewhere.:animeswea i think it was because they didn't have a lot of episodes then and they would always replay the re-runs.:animesigh I was kinda BLAH!! So I decided to wait a while and just watch them when they had a marthon or something. Well...I never really got back to it being busy with school and stuff and the next time I say it I was so lost!!!:animestun But I tried catching up with some of it. I'm okay to the point that they said that water girl was really the goddess or something like that? I don't know...still, it's a series I would love to get back into. I really love it's art and the fluidness of the battle scenes. LoL, I've tried drawing fighting scenes and it's VERY complicated and takes LOTS of time for me.:animeswea
Help me pleeeeeease! I've tried and failed drawing my own anime more times than i can count.. :animecry: ..I suck at it and i can't seem to get the proportions right. If you are asking for someone to take their time and do some fanart you would like to see or any particular scene in mind, I'd be happy to for you. ;) It's been a long time and I have the problem of having absolutely no idea what to draw. Just PM me at my otaku site rather than posting here. I check my site more often.

I've been babysitting for a long time now and one thing I've come to noticed is that I' ve been able to keep two kinds of voices. There's my regular nice tone and then WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE!! kind of tone. *lol* Sometimes when I yell so sternly at them I kinda scare myself! *LOL* Does anyone else who does this?
I used to watch Reboot all the time when it came on Toonami a few years ago. It was a really good show, for what it was. I liked how they used the different games to pay homage to real games and movies, my favorite being the Zombie game episode, where they had the Ash ripoff shooting everyone, and Dot and Enzo transformed/rebooted intp Elvira and Zombie Michael Jackson from the Thriller video.
*LOL* :animesmil I remember that episode!! What was the name of the big red dog? Aw, that dog sure was cool! :animesmil But I have to agree that the part after Endzone and Andrea grew up and went searching for Bob was better than the first half. I love how it all closed at the end. Does anyone remember that superhero episode with Rob who looked an awfully lot like Bob? Classic...*sad recollection* Rob sacrificed his life just like Bob would've. That part made me so sad!!! :animecry: Man...Does anyone know if it's on DVD and has anyone seen it? Is it worth buying? I know Ranma on DVD didn't give you much extras and fun stuff, but Excel certainly did.

I used to watch a show on Cartoon Network called, "Reboot" It use to be a favorite of mine before our cable was cut off about five years ago. I was just wondering if anyone else remembered it and what episodes do they remember the most? Was it your favorite or not? I think my favorite was when it was Endzone's birthday and they were throwing him a party. Megabite showed up and played an awesome rock guitar song for him. It was one rare episode where he wasn't purposely fighting against them. He gave Endzone the guitar then left. I thought Megabite was a pretty cool character and Bob too. Bob was just one of those guys who are naturally good and not in a sappy way like most cartoon heros.

I've been trying to put a post background for my Otaku site. I copied the code that one of the member's help site, but it didn't really put a background for it. I'm really confused how to do it. I tried several times, but it won't work for me. Guess the basic question here is: How do I put color post background(like using an url.)? I know how to put one on the main website, just wondering how to put one on the inner where the post writing is. I'd really appreiciate the help!! :animeswea

answer me this (a question about inspiration and depression)
benakittie replied to duStAnDteArS's topic in General Discussion
Lately life seems to be dragging on for me, and there is no excitement in anything(not even anime or books). i have been depressed alot, i have all the sighs of it( accept drug abuse and suicide and such). . I still need to know how to get over this, how do i live again. its continuely off and on, i guess i'm just tired of my life and i'm looking for inspiration to keep fighting. Does anyone know what i am saying? if you have ever felt this, i hope you can connect. i just need some advice on what to do, tell me if you have any ideas...i need inspiration, inspire me! what inspires us to write, to draw , to live?.... writing ,dreams, and courage used to be my life...a life i'm longing for...
Whenever I feel depressed I think about life and what made me feel the way I feel. Kinda hard to explain, it's like rediscovering the motive and inspiration for all that you do. Searching. you can say. When I'm really down in the rut I think of all sorts of things and replay all my favorite memories like a movie inside my head. Sometimes I laugh and others I feel a bit sad. Still it eventually helps me to rediscover who I am and how I have affected the lives of others. If that doesn't work I usually play an instrument or start researching on a manga idea that I've wanted to try out. You can also hunt down information to expand your knowledge and understanding in an area that interests you. But anime and manga has always inspired me. Especially the ones with more depth. Not to mention God and all his creations. -
Dance Dance Revolution- What's your favorite song?
benakittie replied to RavenDragon's topic in Noosphere
I LOVE THEM ALL!! Even the slow ones, man, can't get enough of it!! :catgirl: but I have to say my two favorites to dance and listen to are Afronova original and Japan. They both so cool!! Although I couldn't find the Afornova midi to put on my Otaku site!! *Sadness* Oh, well, hopefully I'l find it someday. -
My little sister and I go crazy in our room we share. Sometimes I get real stupid and do REALLY stupid things. Like babbling nonsense about monkeys and penguins then go rolling across the floor. *lol* Once I couldn't stop laughing for no apparent reason and drop to the ground. I did the Homer Simspson thing where the run in circles on the ground. I laugh so hard I started drooling on the ground and was kinda covered in it. I eventually stopped and clamed down. That is until my dad opened the door and asked if I was all right. *LOL* Another thing I found to be so fun, but embarassing if you get caught is theartre after credits dancing. I could stop myself with my friend and it was so fun! I was paranoid about someone catching us though. I also talk to myself sometimes and make either senseless or hilarious comments that no really wants to voice themselves. I did this at the mall while waiting for my receipt and the guy behind the counter was like. "I heard that." and he laughed at me. Eh, no biggie. It's good to know you've made someone laugh. Although, I have a habbit of just screaming playfully. I was voicing my food screaming b/c I could exactly scoop it up right. My sister's friend who hadn't know n me for long told me I was freaking her out. I was a little embarrassed, but a little surprised that I was doing it without thinking really. Oh, well. She knows me better now! *lol*

Anime Which Animes Are Dubbed Best/Worst?
benakittie replied to ~Mystical Pan~'s topic in Otaku Central
Hm, the best in dub or sub would have to be slayers I think. The worst dub I think would have to be Card Captors. I couldn't believe how much they ruined the characters' personalities!! Hm, as for the best well I think it's Inu-yasha series and probably Cow Boy Bebop along with Full Metal Alchamist and Trigun. I think "Ghost In a Shell" did a good job, but like the second one more. Let see, there's also the Ranma movies which a good one. The Sailor Moons were better in the beginning I think, but get better with the whole Pegasus series. I like how Usagi in the english version could make her voice sound older sometimes, but still hers. I also like Excel english version more, but up until they do that recap episode and change Excel's voice. I find it strange I don't like it half as much in the sub tiltled version...
