...Groups like the RIAA have tried to "punish" those they felt worthy...like the 12 year old girl who was sued 200,000 for 60,00 downloaded Mp3's. That's rediculous. She's tweleve...you already make millions...give the little people a break...
Yeah, the fine is rediculous, but what I wanna know is what in the world a 12 year old girl was ever planning on doing with 60,000 mp3's? The rediculousness was spread out both ways in this case. Yeah, stealing is morally wrong, but it can be justified. If I had access to a physical store that sold Japanese CDs, then I would own the CD for every The Pillows album and all the other songs I've downloaded. But there isn't, and I'd rather download them than risk buying from a shady website.

This might seem lame to some people, but I'm not giving up on this dream until the end! (corniness) I want to build a Gundam and pilot it. I'm part of my school's robotics team, and one of the reasons I want to learn Japanese is so I can go to Tokyo University and study robotics there. I'm gonna give this one my all, heh

I just picked up the PSP over the weekend, and I'm already addicted to one of the games: Lumines. Right after I got the PSP I played Lumines for 6 hours straight. For me playing a puzzle game, that's a lot. Like BoxyBrown305 mentioned, I also got addicted to MGS 3. When I first got my copy, it was a Friday, so I had the whole weekend to beat it (and I did) :p Another game I got addicted to was Final Fantasy VII. I would end up thinking to myself "Come on, just one more level!" for hours. :animesmil
... Hopefully with time the wounds of this tragedy can be healed, and perhaps may it serve as a deterrent to prevent other people from performing similar acts.
I wish this was the case... One of my friends at school got expelled today for threatening to shoot a whole long list of people... he even described what part of the body he was gonna shoot... He, too, is in a similar case as this boy. People make fun of him on a daily basis, girls cry when they get partnered with him at school(I'm afraid that wasn't a joke), and from what he tells me, his parents are really harsh on him... I'm feeling pretty uneasy about the whole thing right now. I really hope he was just blowing off steam, and doesn't actually try to go through with it... And it's such a shame that he got expelled from my school, since it is a school for the arts, and he was such a good piano player... The people at my school were celebrating when they found out he was expelled, just because they didn't like him... some people know how to disgrace themselves.

First, you should try switching those speakers with another set to see if it is the speakers. Do you have any magnets nearby the speakers? I've messed up a speaker or two by putting them near things that I didn't know were magnetic :animeswea Have you installed any new software lately? Maybe it's a bug in one of your programs.

The first game that got me hooked onto gaming was probably Super Mario Bros. for the NES. My cousin used to play it all the time, and I always used to admire how good he was. Of course, when I played, I was horrible at it, but then again, I was only 5. :p Duck Hunt for the NES also got me hooked onto gaming. Whenever all of my family got together, my cousins and I would play, and my family would watch. It was a blast!

I am so sorry for everyone that was there and had to go through that horror... It's such a waste of human life, it's a damn shame. My question is how? How could anyone do something like this to another human being...? This is not an excuse by any means whatsoever, but we don't know how far this boy was pushed... mabye the community did this to itself...

To Chabichou: First of all, when you say a religion is wrong, then you are implying that there is a right religion. Okay, since you obviously take anything that is called a "fact" to be true, then I'm gonna give this to you as plain and simple as I can. Here's your "logic" for you. Unlike you, though, I'm gonna put these in spoiler tags, because I respect other poeples' religions.
Where is heaven? How do you know heaven even exists? Because it says so in a book? How do you know every lifeform has a soul? It's not physical matter, right?
Also, there is ample evidence supporting evolution over Adam and Eve, there have been tests done that state simple sugars can be made out of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen, with electricity. These were supposedly the same conditions that the earth started off with. If I really wanted to, I could go around saying that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are all wrong. But I respect the fact that people believe in religions, and I'm not gonna ridicule them for it, unlike you, who says that some religions are just flat-out incorrect. And another thing, when did I say I needed a logical reason for everything? Do not group people into stereotypes before you know them, that is the basic definition of prejudice.
What do you mean, my God? No one invented the God Muslims Jews and Cristians believe in. We Just believe that a creator exists, and that he created everything. The name we give to God is simpy the name he calls himself in the his books, which we believe are the word of God. Meanwhile, the greeks worshipped Zeus, Hera, Athena, Ares, Apollo, Demeter etc, just to name a few. These Gods are made up, they really are, believe me. What gave the greeks the right to simply assume that the Gods appeared out of chaos, and that the "fell in love" with eachother and had more baby Gods? It's important to accept the fact that you don't know everything. I don't know "Where god came from", so I can't simply make up stories explaining his origins, the way all the ancient and wrong relgions did. That's what I call "inventing gods". Please be sensible people.
Inventing Gods? What the hell gives you the right to say that there is a right and a wrong religion? What if I still believed in the Greek Gods? What if I said that the God you worship is completely made up and the wrong one to worship? There is a little thing called tolerance, learn some . How dare you impose your beleifs on everyone at this board. You need to get out and talk to some people once in a while, the religions you think are "real" aren't the only ones out there. I wish there was a word for people who are prejudiced against religions, I would call you that right here. and just so you know, I'm an Atheist.
-
My friends and I discuss this a lot... I think that Atheism is a religion in itself, mainly because it is the belief in not believing. From Merriam-Webster.com, the definition of a religion: religion- a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith Isn't it true that Athiests have faith in the fact that there is no God? Also, some of the Atheists I know say you can't be an Atheist unless you follow certain guidelines. One says you have to beleive in the removal of all religions everywhere in order to be a true Atheist. Faith in something and guidelines to follow- is it just me or is Atheism sounding more and more like a religion?
I think that in terms of crime, I probably wouldn't do it. But if it's just breaking a "moral code" or breaking a personal boundary of some kind...then it's possible. But yeah, it does depend on the specifics (what I'd have to do and how much money is involved ~_^).
Yeah, if it was something that was just kind of against my morals, I would probably take the money and not think twice about it, as long as it wasn't like $5 (literally and figuratively). If it was something major, though, then I wouldn't accept it for any cost.

Anime What anime do you think has the best visuals?
drive_monster replied to a topic in Otaku Central
I'm gonna say Furi Kuri was one of the best anime visually because of how many types of art it used. It had CG animation at one point, manga art, and even South Park style! Also, the artwork itself was beautiful. The variety it had was really amazing to watch. -
I'm addicted to Gyoza. Man, I shovel those things whenever I can get my hands on some. Recently, I've been addicted to old school NES games like Kirby. They had solid games back then. I'm also addicted to my computer. I can burn hours making little adjustments to my system.

I don't know that much about yaoi or yuri, so forgive me is this is a stupid question :p If yaoi and yuri aren't considered hentai, then what is the difference between yaoi/yuri and hentai?

I just remembered another one! In this game you need a long hall with a *short* set of stairs to the floor below at the end. Stand opposite of the stairs and spin around until you get really dizzy. Then, run as fast as you can towards the stairs and jump down them. The one that lands without falling wins! :p
