I find it's a lot easier for me to remember information if I've written it down somewhere previously. Usually taking notes in a class suffices, but when there are no notes (or when the lecture is structured in a way that I have to sort of make up my own notes) I tend to read over the related material in the book and write it down as if I was explaining it to someone else.

Yeah, I agree. Anything I've written down I tend to remember better. But when there's so much stuff to go through for a test, it still sucks. :T
