So I ran across something unexpected earlier. Decided to randomly take the train from Saffron so I could get over to Johto, when I see Lt. Surge in the station. o_o I go up to talk to him, and he says, "Hey, you had a Pikachu before, didn't you? Want to trade it for my French Pikachu?" To which I went, "... 8O NO WAI!", ran back to the Pokemon Center, came back with said Pikachu, traded, and... it's not French at all. :/ What a disappointment. But, it does list the OT as "Surge", which is pretty cool I guess.
... I like the hat. D: I don't care if I'm one of the two people in the universe that like it. ;_;
#2, reporting for duty! *salutes* But yeah, Pokemon B&W, I'm liking what I've seen so far. The screenshots are real interesting; looks like they're going for a full-on 3D perspective now.

It's related to another little something called "seme". And I'm not even a BL fan or anything.
i know a bit about the uke.... have been playn one for almost two years now.
I totally didn't think of an instrument when I read this.
During the times listed for the individual trainers, you can call and rematch them as many times as you want.
... I did not know this. Holy crap, that means... I can rematch Gym Leaders in the same way? *tries it out on Morty* ... holy crap balls! What an awesome revelation! 8D

Here's a little question for you fine peeps: Any of you bilingual? Or rather, are you studying or have you studied any foreign languages? Is/Was there a particular reason why (ex: 'cause you needed the class credits, it seemed interesting, etc.)? Is there any language you'd like to study? For me personally, I've studied Latin and Japanese, although I've sorta completely forgotten the former. Been too long. >_> But yeah, I'm kinda like the typical anime/manga nerd who's all, "I want to study Japanese and be a translator/interpreter, hurrdurr!" Except I think I'm a little more modest about proclamations of that sort, or at least I'd like to think I am. I just have a strange interest in Japanese culture and I love learning the language, so my hope is that someday I'll be a translator. Still got a long way to go though. Currently in Japanese 223, so I'm nearing the end of my second year of study. 皆様、こたえを書いてくれてありがとう。:catgirl:

Umm, well, I don't really have what you'd call helpful advice. The way I get through papers like that is by just sitting at my computer and waiting for the inspiration to come. The actual writing of the paper typically doesn't take that long, but thinking about it can take all day... I've had papers I really didn't want to write, but the one class I just did not like was one from last quarter, World Literature. Part of the pain was that it was an online class, and the other was that there were several books I had to read and subsequently write about that I absolutely hated. I ended up essentially failing the class, but not 'cause of a paper. I missed the final, durp. :V

Finished the Kanto gym leaders. Now I just have to defeat the NEW! and IMPROVED! Elite Four and that darn Red (no, not you, red meat). But before I can go on to defeat 'em, I need to train about... 10 levels per Poke'peep. That's gonna suck, especially since I can't spam the Vs. Seeker like I could in Platinum, and you can't spam on the rematches via the Pokegear either. You know what else I'd like? A Lucky Egg. That'd help matters a tad. Otherwise, here's a small GET! list: - Zapdos (named Teutates) - Articuno (named Ogmios) - Latias (named Aurora) - Tyrogue (named Jerkwad since I had to go back through Mt. Mortar TWICE to actually get it :/) - And... uhh, others I'm sure. Like phone numbers. But those aren't worth listing every single one.

Today was, like, a really fun day. I think I enjoyed myself a little too much. First there was Pokeymaning before class, then there was class itself which is Japanese so that instantly makes it fun. Then earlier tonight I had Iaido, which I ended up having a lot of fun with (more than usual, anyway). So yeah, good times. :V

So I have a Friend Code for HG now, which I shall share with you all. Feel free to add meh; we can have, like, battles and trades and stuff. Name: Missay Code: 3309 7022 6950 In other news, I've beaten four of the Kanto gym leaders. I'm on my way to the Power Plant soon so that the Kanto peeps won't die or something.
Funny how I've got a novel to read and five papers to write.
The best time to play video games is always when you have a mountain of work. Clearly. *pie'd* Anyway, I caught Ho-oh this morning. Funny story: I must've had to reset 10+ times, either due to accidentally knocking it out (damn criticals when I don't need 'em) or running out of Pokeballs, when FINALLY I start up the battle, weaken it, throw the first Ultra Ball... and just like that, Ho-oh was caught. Goshdarnit I literally said, "Son of a b****!"

Dusk Balls (plus some Hypnosis and Mean Look) helped me catch both Raikou and Entei earlier tonight. I am now the proud owner of Lanceor and Vulcan. *is not a .hack nerd, nope* And tomorrow *coughtodaycough* I'll be goin' after Ho-oh. If it starts to infuriate me too much, I'll wait 'til nightfall cuz hey, those Dusk Balls are amazing.

Easter/Passover Thread by Popular Demand!
Nony replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
Ahh, Easter... funny thing is, Sakura-Con is happenin' this Sunday, which is also Easter. They always do this too, it's annoying. Well, I'm not planning to abandon church, so yeah. Sunday will be me goin' with the family to church. I think my mom's helping out by making food for it or something, I'm not sure. But otherwise, uh.... I dunno. I'll be enjoying any spoils I get from the prior day's convention adventures, I guess. -
I'm the same way. Always have been. It's some kind of neurotic need to keep them all even leveled. And yeah, it does make things a ton easier too. So hey! In HG I'm at the Radio Tower event right now, and gosh is it fun to run around in a Team Rocket uniform. XD I giggled so much at people's reactions. My favorite had to be this old guy in the Department store: "What kind of business would a Team Rocket member have here? We aren't selling sanity here."

I've discovered recently that I can crack my ankles in the same fashion as my brothers who crack their knuckles/hands. It's an interesting feeling, to say the least.
And then there's the incestual variation where the romantic attraction is to an adopted sibling, which is just infuriating because we have to deal with this **** AND it's basically the anime creators announcing, "Hey! They're not really related, so it's OK! By the way, we are lacking in testicles!"
Totally. It's extremely awkward to watch or read. Also, nice reason for editing your post there. :P Referring back to the original topic, I dunno if I have a specific story to tell... I've read that article, and I was in Japan for ten weeks last fall. I've also been studying Japanese for a couple years, as well as took a class on contemporary Japan. So I've been prepared/dulled to some of this stuff. I will say, I feel bad for any vegetarians that travel to Japan. 'Cause DAMN they do like their meat. Not that there's necessarily an abundance of it in every meal, but there is at least some. My study abroad group had a couple vegetarians, and I heard stories about when they would go to a restaurant and order food without meat. Sometimes they would STILL get meat in their food, 'cause apparently the restaurant peeps didn't want the customers to feel like they were getting jipped. Or something like that. It's almost like they don't believe you, kinda like in the article with the guy always saying he CAN'T drink alcohol but people would still try to shove it on him. Also, it was annoying (for me, personally) how many people smoked over there. I mean, no wonder they're all skinny. :/ Seriously, I once saw a guy smoking while he was riding a bike! Like he couldn't just wait until later, goodness. At the same time, there was plenty good about Japan. It's hard to get an in-depth opinion on it when I was there for such a short time. I gotta say, I loved the convenience stores and the vending machines you could find every couple blocks. And katsu curry. Katsu curry is magical.

Art The Desktop Screenshots/Wallpapers Thread [image heavy]
Nony replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in Creative Works
So hey, a little game called .hack//Link came out earlier this month. And with it came some other goodies, namely: Hells yes. 3> -
My sister has to go back to school Sunday. Back to stressful thesis work and stuff. And then I have school again on Monday. Gashsplurnit this break went by way too fast. :(
What about the Chansey family? Chansey and Blissy have really high Defense [and I assume Special Defense, too], and are healers on top of that.
Oh no, the Chansey family has horrible Defense. They have really high HP, decent Sp. Attack and amazingly good Sp. Defense, but Physical? Psssh, man, they can't handle anything physical. I still love my Blissey on Platinum though. Just the low Defense made it super hard to train. .3. EDIT: Also, let it be known that catching a Natu straight from the wild (at the Ruins of Alph) makes it incredibly hard to start training it right off the bat. They don't know ANY attack moves at all! You have to either level them up (for quite awhile, might I add) or use some TMs on 'em. Gosh, what a pain. ._.
I don't think we had Latin, 'cept over at the special career building, which I never got to go to.
Well, I had an advantage since I home schooled. I had a lot more options then for what language I could take.
You'll at least smirk when I tell you this: I spent about 2 hours tonight talking with friends via Plurk coming up with Pokemon for all the .hack characters.
That is awesome, and some of those suggestions were hilarious; Tri-edge the Dodrio and Kuhn the Ditto. lol I actually named my main squad on Platinum after six of the eight Phases. That was real fun and nerdy. I need to start naming more of my Pokepeeps in HG after .hack stuff...
Dusk Balls. I'm telling you people, Dusk Balls.
Hell yes. Dusk Balls are awesome. I can't wait until I can start buying them.

May I just say, chibi, that I think it is awesome you are taking Latin. *took it herself in high school* Of course, I've forgotten so much vocab it doesn't really matter, but still.

I've always liked Nintendo's stuff, so I've no reason to doubt that this "3DS" will usher in a new/different kind of fun for meh. It'd be nice to see a picture of what it'll look like though, based off that one article saying it'll have a "thumb stick". I mean, when I read "thumb stick", I think of the PSP. :V
