The Most Awesome Non-Japanese Animated Works In Your Opinion
Nony replied to stararnold's topic in Noosphere
Still one of my favorite films to this day, I just adored "The Lion King" when I was a kid. As expected from a major Disney animated film, the animation is awesome. The music is amazing, even the scores (which I usually don't find too memorable in most Disney flicks). The story too, man; basically Hamlet meets lions. And I love that my iTunes decided to play "Circle of Life" while I was writing this. XD -
Lately it's felt like I've been having lots of crazy dreams, more than usual at least. Can't really remember any of them specifically though, which might be for the best. One of the craziest I've ever had was a few years ago. It started out with me and this boy in some plane, and I guess the implication was that we were romantically involved. Then our plane crashed on some random piece of land. Of course we survived but then we went out exploring the land... and randomly he was gone (and I didn't question this at all) while I continued down a hill towards a tree building thing. After entering and exploring, I quickly hid 'cause I heard creatures coming... but then I got caught by dwarves and stuff. They tugged me down and one of them got out a giant butcher knife and was going to stab me in the back. Then I woke up. :V I've had some weird recurring dreams too. One series involves me somehow being topless (like, seriously completely topless), for whatever reason. And no, it's never kinky. One of them was me coming back from my own wedding and crazily my dress had no top so I went into a clothes store to find a shirt. Yeah. Luckily haven't had one of those types in awhile, 'cause seriously I hate those kinds of dreams.

My family just got our tree today actually, hahah. A nicely sized noble fir, if not a little shorter than we prefer it. There's no decorations on it yet 'cause we're gonna wait until my sister comes back next week to do that. We are, however, going to put the lights on it within the next couple days. Gosh, now it finally feels like Christmas. I'll be posting a photo once we get it all decorated in our old baby, homemade, yearly store-bought, etc. ornaments. :3
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome basically a hormone imbalance that can cause irregular periods, unwanted hair growth, and acne.
... well, I have two out of three of those symptoms (minus the hair growth... I think). Now I'm all paranoid.

I decided to screw ToS for a bit and get back into Final Fantasy IX. I really really love the game yet it's been ages since I've played it and I have yet to actually beat the game myself. >> So I just took four or so hours to catch up on the game. Last time I stopped I was on the third disc. Decided to take some time to level up some characters who desperately needed it, as well as try and learn as many abilities as I can. Found a monster called a Grand Dragon to train against, but DAMN is it ever strong when it casts Thundaga. Annoying thing. :/ Also, Choco got upgraded to the Deep Sea ability! :D

Oh heck yes. When I first heard the news, I was like, "Oh sweet!" I would have never expected them to do a remake for Lufia, but hey I'm happy either way. Although it amuses me how they decided to "update" the appearances and all.

I am going through curry rice withdrawals. ;____;

Church people can eat a looooot of food, boy howdy.

I just started replaying Tales of Symphonia today. It's been years since I've played the game, and never by myself; my brother and I used to co-op, you see. I'm not even to the Martel chapel yet though. Gotta get used to using Lloyd as opposed to Genis. @_@

I hate when there are too many scenes where people just stare at each other while some kind of insert song plays, going back and forth between the two (or more) character's eyes/faces. Bee Train loves pulling this kind of crap, and I don't mind it at all if it's pulled off well. But sometimes... *coughs*

First off... *gives cookies to chibi for making this thread* Second, the red river does not flow with me right now, w00t.

Read up about some more .hack news today. I love being a geek.

I couldn't hide my geekiness even if I tried. Hell, I have no reason to since I have nothing to be ashamed of.

I've used this game as an example countless times, but Lunar: Dragon Song for the DS. It's part of the Lunar series of games, but... goshdarnit it was so awful. You lose health if you run (which, although it makes sense, it's really annoying and walking is slow as molasses), you can't even frickin' target enemies which takes out all the strategy from the game, and... gosh, I just stopped caring two hours in. I barely finished the first dungeon, then called it quits. Another disappointing game was Lufia: The Ruins of Lore for the GBA. I loved Lufia II and Lufia: The Legend Returns, but this game... I could not get into it at all. It was just a disappointment. It wasn't awful like Lunar: Dragon Song, but... it was meh. I don't care for meh games.

Just tonight, I watched (and faved) a bunch of .hack game cutscenes (the original four) on YouTube. Felt damn good, gotta say. But anyway, here's a better one. About a month ago I was in Japan traveling around Osaka via the trains. I got lost though and ended up trying to look for a bookstore that might have subway/train maps. I wandered into a random one and what should I see (other than the pornographic stuff) but .hack posters plastered on the walls. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Then I got the heck outta there since they didn't have what I wanted and all the pr0nz was creeping me out.
It's all just to welcome you home. :animesmil
Wow, I feel so special. In all fairness, there should be a thread about menstrual cycles. Just sayin'.
On the topic of Twilight and Japan, isn't there a decent contingency of Twilight fans there? I'm not sure if it is quite at Harry Potter levels of popular, but it's actually doing fairly well for itself, which is both depressing and not at all shocking, really.
I honestly don't know about the level of Twilight's popularity in Japan. I never met a Japanese person who was all "OMG TOWAIRAITO!" I did, however, constantly see ads for the movie whenever my internet service redirected me to Leo Net's main page. So, maybe that's a hint at it? I dunno.

America is full of white people. This is nothing new to me, yet seeing them all is shocking. I'm still used to throngs of Asians walkin' around, yet... where are they now?!

This whole thread needs a fat sticker on it saying "TMI".

Speaking of Christmas music, that was a hoot hearing the junk they played in the Japanese stores. Gosh, I was tempted to find and buy a CD of it just for kicks, 'cept Japan charges an arm and a leg for that stuff so oh well. Anyway, I'm quite looking forward to this year's Christmas season. I just got back from Japan yesterday and I'm very excited to be with the family. Especially since I have gifts I bought in Japan for everyone. B3 The family should be putting up Christmas decorations this weekend. I'm hoping we'll get a tree too, but probably not. :/

Money
Money
Money
Money
Camera
But seriously, you need money for everything; food, con pass, dealer's hall merchandise, etc. Also, if you're staying at a hotel you definitely need it. So yeah. :V

Oh gosh, Lufia: The Legend Returns is one of my favorite RPGs. XD I haven't played it in awhile, but I've beaten it several times. The game is darn fun and some of the music (despite the GBC quality) is darn good. I liked the battling system too, made it interesting even if the game is overall pretty easy. Of course... there are some infamous spelling errors in L:TLR. Let me remind you of:
Ichigo Mashimaro
... pfffffffffffffft. You would, Des. You would. Anyway, on to the real post now. I gotta say, I can't exactly pick out a specific anime that comforts me more than others. Really, most of the anime I watch does that already. If it's able to draw me in in any way, then I'm happy. Helps me wind down and get my mind off other things. [I was gonna go on about .hack, but that's nothing new from me now is it?]
