1. Oh no, didn't mean to imply that. I don't really find #3 a strong candidate, especially based off what little evidence I have on the matter. Bottom line, it can be said that those people were clearly not pleased with Obama.
2. I'm honestly not that surprised about the existence of hate groups, considering my somewhat low opinion on humanity in general. But anyway, I thought I'd share this on-topic story with you peeps. Earlier today, I went to go pick up something at the post office. By the entrance, there was a table and some people with pamphlets and various papers and such. But most interesting was a poster hanging on the table that pictured Obama with a Hitler mustache drawn on. When I was about to go inside the post office, they asked, "Hey, you wanna shoot Obama?" To which I replied, "No thanks." Yeah, I've never seen that kind of stuff around town. Maybe I just don't get out enough, but it sure was... well, interesting. I'm not sure what they were trying to sell as it were, since I didn't get close enough to tell. But my guess would be that they were either 1) white supremacists, 2) really angry Republicans, or 3) a mix of the two.
3. Update: Currently not actively playing Tales of the Abyss. Reason for this is: I'm on a classic .hack kick right now, and I've been wanting to replay the original .hack games anyway, so... I did just that. I finished .hack//INFECTION within a week (took about 20 hours) and I'm in the middle of .hack//MUTATION. It's been quite fun, definitely worth it to take a break from Tales to play it. I've discovered something new for sure: I really like Gardenia. She's so cool.
4. When talking about my manga collection, it's easier just to link you guys to this place: [link] Some manga not noted in there 'cause they're kinda special are a few Japanese .hack manga I own. I have G.U.+ vol. 2, LotT 1 & 2, and .hack//Alcor. The last one's not even out in the U.S. yet, so I'm special. :3 My most recent addition to the manga collection was Utahime. It's a really nice one volume story. The art is quite nice, makes me want to scan it even. >> The only disappointment is that it's not longer. I would've liked just one more volume, 'cause it was that good.
5.
I didn't know there was a choice... I had to watch it in 3D... Do you know how lame I feel when I have to put on those stupid 3D glasses over my regular ones?!
My siblings and I had to do the same thing. :/ Luckily the 3D specs were large enough to fit over our glasses, but still... yeah, I would've rather just gone and seen the non-3D version.
6. It's interesting when you come to moments in your life where you realize what a huge nerd you are. Like today, for example. I got another .hack information/guide book, and this one is also completely in Japanese. So why did I buy it then? There is only one answer: NERRRRRD!
7. More from .hack//SIGN.
8. I can't choose a favorite character, woe is me! Anyway, the movie itself, yeah... It's definitely one of Pixar's best; I think WALL-E was better, but this was pretty damn good too. I was certainly expecting to laugh, which I did, but I was not prepared to get all choked up at certain parts. Heck, I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD. 'Tis worth it. By the way, a question for y'all: When you went and saw Up, did you watch it in 3D (with the 3D Fredricksen-like glasses) or was it just normal? 'Cause where I am, our theater only has the 3D version, which is kinda limiting for people who have one bad eye. And frankly, I never remembered the movie even making great use of the 3D that often. *shrugs* I dunno.
9.
...so says the fangirl >_>;
We are all fans, in the great circle of life.
10. Allow me to echo Ace by suggesting Pokemon (Platinum, preferrably) and Elite Beat Agents. The latter is a fun sort of touch-beat game with heavy reliance on the stylus. It's a lot of fun. If you get into that enough, there's also the Japanese cousins of EBA, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! and the sequel, Ouendan 2.
11. Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. :3 I don't write often, but yeah my style tends to lean towards the more comedic like in the poem. I'll probably end up posting other stuff eventually (of what little I have, anyway).
12.
Are you the one who deleted my message about my comatose friend? >:|
What message? 0:3
13. I'm a sucker for the classic peanut butter and jelly; there's such a wide variety of jellies and jams that it rarely gets boring and peanut butter is heavenly. Also, for those more in the mood for a sweet treat, peanut butter and chocolate chip is good too. I still succumb to its ways every now and then. Yet another sandwich that was pretty good was one I "experimented" with the other day. I took some cheddar, salami, and grilled onions, put 'em in between two pieces of wheat (although I would've preferred potato bread personally) and grilled it on the stove. It was pretty good - a nice late night snack - although the cheese was runny as hell after a bit due to the onions. Finally, I am a sucker for meatball subs of any kind. The best I ever had was at a local place that made great use of ciabatta bread.
14. I just spent the last three and a half hours moderating on a .hack forum (I had a looot to catch up on, you see). And... it wasn't that bad, actually.
15. Here's a poem I wrote several years ago for a high school assignment. The person in question is my father. The Bald One - Lo, behold good fellows! The Bald One is at work! Be quiet, do not make a sound! The crossword puzzle has long been his foe. Hold! No noise! He requires complete silence! The sounds of Mozart and Beethoven are all that he requires, so be silent rogue! Be swift when thou dost approach the kitchen, else thou wishest to alert the Bald One! Heed my warnings fool, or thou shalt face the wrath of the Bald One whom thou hast disturbed! - Yea, what be IV times XIII? Tis simple for the Bald One, math holds him not in chains. Lo! What be the name of a Russian chess master? Surely The Bald One knowest this. If not, all is lost! We be only dust in the wind. But behold! The Bald One has with him the tome of knowledge and weird facts! We are now saved, praises to the Bald One! But wait! The Bald One cannot answer it! Now behold, as the Bald One weeps aloud.
16. As far as expecting anything, whether gay rights or not, to get done, here's my li'l contribution on the matter. Consider the fact that it takes (my) college's student government a month just to approve a club's field trip. That's just one school. Now try to imagine how long it takes when you add in a controversial issue as well as a MUCH bigger organization, and there ya go.
17. You know, I'm glad I checked this thread just now, 'cause I completely forgot that we're starting Kannagi this week AND it's first (instead of Escaflowne). >>
18. Right now I'm listening to "Arabesque Romanesque" by ALI PROJECT. [link] because the YouTube tags hate me. It's a nice song, very classical-like. I feel their non-lyrical pieces are among some of their strongest, actually. [See: .hack//Roots' "give honour to our fellow"]
19. Ultimately, games are about having fun. If the game is so hard that people aren't having fun anymore, well... yeah, kinda pointless. Therefore, I don't see anything wrong with this option. If it gets people to have fun with the game again, I'm all for it.
20.
It kinda shows a lack of effort, at least from my point of view.
Yeeeeah. Oftentimes it feels like they could've done so much more with the manga, so it's kind of a disappointment. :/ I have yet to read a video game based manga that paces itself well enough. You could say this is the common complaint of fans whenever something gets adapted for a different medium, such as books to movies, but it is a legitimate complaint. When the quality of the entertainment suffers because they were rushing too much, then yeah.
21.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31422688/ns/us_news-weird_news/
The best part is this:
Deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said the White House has no comment on the matter.
22. I found something interesting while watching .hack//SIGN earlier.
23.
What's even more insane is I still haven't done everything one can do in the game so I can easily see myself continuing to play it every day.
Ohhh yeah, definitely. Heck, in order to get certain items in the game, you have to save basically 1 billion bells in the bank. Mhm. Anyway, games I've played for over 100 hours would include: .hack//G.U. Redemption Sure, I've played all seven of my .hack games quite a bit, but Redemption specifically has a lot of hours logged. About 160 if I remember correctly. I don't even know how I did it. o_O Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Very easy to get over 100 on this one. In fact, I had over 300 by the time I finished up. But really, I doubt I'd willingly do it again. The gameplay is soooo repetitive, it's kind of boring honestly. ._.
24. The only time I can really listen to music while studying or doing homework without ending up getting distracted is when I do/did math. My mind doesn't have to concentrate that hard just to perform a few equations, it seems. But with stuff like English... man, I always end up playing music at first, but that's just too distracting. Eventually I have to turn it off or my paper will never get done. XP
