Watching old home videos of yourself as a two year old is quite interesting. Especially when you see your older siblings always shouting and basically saying things for you, and that's when the light bulb goes off in your head and you think, "Ahah! That must be why I talked about as much as a statue those first few years!" Plus, seeing a look of bewilderment on my face whilst family shenanigans were afoot was rather humorous.

With franchises like [i]Kingdom Hearts[/i] and [i].hack[/i] (and others I'm sure, I just can't think of them), you seem to end up getting these manga that "retell" the story of the games, usually within just three short volumes. Now, I haven't actually read the KH manga before, but I do have experience with the .hack ones. There's [i].hack//XXXX[/i] (pronounced "dot hack ex-fourth") and [i].hack//G.U.+[/i]. The former summarizes the tale of the first four .hack games within just two manga, and the latter covers the G.U. games' plot in three then branches off on its own storyline for another two volumes. Obviously, with such short amount of time to do so, these types of manga can't possibly cover what the games did in a satisfactory manner. More than anything, the plot gets edited like hell down to the bare minimum, to a point where it seems like only fans who've played these games should even bother anymore. It's pretty much just to rake in money. So here's the question I'm wanting to ask here. Is there a real point to making manga like this? I suppose there's an appeal for fans, especially when sometimes creators will add extra info in the manga that was (for some reason) never covered in the games. But personally, I'd rather they create a brand new story for a manga rather than redoing an old one. It'd be much more interesting to follow a new character, or even to learn something about a side character we didn't know before. Short version: Do you like manga that are based on video games or would you rather they make something else?

I'm just happy to see a 2D animated film from Disney again. My gosh, they should leave the 3D animated stuff to Pixar, seriously. The only problem is all the people throwing around the "RACIST RACIST" card, which I can't help but think would happen no matter what Disney did with a black princess, or a black character period. Oh well. Also, did anyone else notice in the latest trailer how the first 45 seconds or so started off by reminding us, "Remember GOOD Disney movies? Yeah."

What I find is an accomplishment is the fact that I'm still in my pajamas, and it's almost 4:00 PM. And I'm not sick.

I'm in the process of slowly but surely playing through [b]Tales of the Abyss[/b]. I got it back on Christmas and played it like a maniac then, but once school started I kinda forgot about it. But anyway, I feel like I'm getting closer to the end. I dunno, it just feels that way. Especially since there's sooo many freakin' side quests now, holy crap where'd they come from, seriously. Other games I [i]should[/i] be playing and will get around to eventually are [b]Persona 3: FES[/b] and [b]Okami[/b]. The former might take me longer, since... ehhh, I wasn't really digging it when I started it way before. We'll see, I guess. And the latter I haven't even started yet, but I've heard so many good things about it, I thought I might as well buy it.

Oh jeez, favorite anime music... there's so much good stuff out there. I'll just mention what I can remember off the top of my head for now. For one, .hack. OMG WHAT A SUPRISE. Yeah, I like pretty much all the .hack music (anime [i]and[/i] games) and have even gone out of my way to buy every single soundtrack out there. But specifically in regards to the .hack anime, I love the stuff from SIGN (by Yuki Kajiura) and Roots (by Ali Project). Both soundtracks do well at what they need to do: Set the appropriate atmosphere for the show and characters, not to mention make the tracks actually fun to listen to on their own later. Agreed with Bagheera up there. Although I do love a cold soda, I can't just drink that stuff on its own. It's better as a compliment to a good dinner. But yes, in general summer is not such a happy time for me. Having the sunny weather is nice, definitely, however I'm photo-sensitive thanks to my medication and I cannot stand bugs. At least there's the benefit of good food. Steak, melons, various kinds of ice cream treats... mmmm boy~

You naughty people, not eating breakfast... [i]for shame![/i] Didn't you ever read the sides of cereal boxes that told you not having breakfast in the morning makes it harder for you to concentrate and your brain craps out on you if you do and crap? So yeah, *fingerwaggle* Myself, I tend to eat oatmeal in the morning. I find I can't stomach stuff like toast within an hour or two of waking up, and I don't like cold cereal, so oatmeal's the best bet. But, the ultimate breakfast in my mind consists of eggs, bacon, and home fries. That's just good stuff right there, it's making me salivate right now just thinking about it.

I echo the thoughts of other people that labeling these kids as sex offenders seems way harsh. It [i]is[/i] stupid, of course, but dang... The guy probably would've gotten off scot-free if he hadn't been dumb enough to send the pictures to the girl's family. Seriously. If you're going to do something illegal (or something that's just plain stupid), it's best to be discreet about it.

The first ever anime death I experienced as a young teen and that genuinely made me cry was in Fushigi Yuugi with [spoiler]Nuriko[/spoiler]. My sister and I were literally saying, "It's not fair!" over and over after that. A more recent incident of "WTF NO FAIR ;_;" was in Code Geass when [spoiler]Shirley gets killed by Rolo. DAMMIT, I loved Shirley. She was probably one of the most likable characters in the entire show, and they frickin' kill her! NOT FAIR. *bawls*[/spoiler] Oh hay, and let's not forget [spoiler]Lockon[/spoiler] from Gundam 00. [spoiler]He's the first anime guy I've fangirled in a long time, so I had a very special attachment to him. When Ali shot him, I was like, "D:". Literally, mouth agape, just... UGH.[/spoiler] And don't no one bring up any possible spoilers for season 2, I haven't seen it yet. >>

I celebrate it like a good Christian should: Go to church. XP Really, this year's Easter was a tad boring. I'm no longer a kid (says who?), so I can't do the Easter egg hunts or nothin' no more. Oh, but we had ham. And strawberry shortcake. Mmm, cake.

- Robots have feelings too. ([b]Kikkaider[/b]) - It's always teens that are destined to save the world. (Lots of anime) - The girl will always trip when being chased. ([b]InuYasha[/b], [b]Fushigi Yuugi[/b], etc.) - No matter how tough the battle or how injured you are, your fellow fighters will always just stare in horror at the action while waiting (perfectly safe) on the sidelines. ([b]InuYasha[/b] again) I'll think of more later, this is a good start for now.

Oh man, the Subway at my school was hit with that worm. They had to write down every single order on paper. It looked pretty hectic, especially at the peak of lunch hour.

That cover is a bit disturbing... Anyway, based off [i]my[/i] experience with guys who read and enjoy shoujo, I think you're safe. Most of the male anime fans I personally know actually prefer the girly anime and/or shoujo for some bizarro reason, and only some of them have been bisexual.

[b]Dragonball GT[/b] was one of the worst piles of crappola I've ever seen. Sure, let's take an already tired series and keep it going into a crazy plot that makes no sense and turns everyone into unlikable idiots! That'll work! Even back in the day when I loved DB, I just could not stand DBGT and only continued with it out of loyalty and wanting to see what kind of crap they'd pull next. Another anime I dislike strongly is [b].hack//Legend of the Twilight[/b]. Now, the manga is adorable and a nice addition to the .hack universe, but the anime is an eyesore. It goes off on this wtf plotline with two of the most annoying protagonists ever, AKA Shugo and Rena. If you were annoyed in [b]Fushigi Yuugi[/b] and [b]InuYasha[/b] with the name-yelling syndrome, then you'll feel right at home with LotT. Also, please note Shugo and Rena are brother and sister, and they [i]really[/i] love each other if you know what I mean. Yeah, the incest tones were not appreciated by me, no sirree bob. Perhaps I am particularly offended by the LotT anime due to me being such a huge .hack fan otherwise. Therefore, all that is good about .hack is smeared by this anime's existence. There, done.

This is the stupidest bit of news I've heard all week. Nay, all month. It really takes the cake, man. Honestly, what is wrong with people? I already had little hope for humanity before reading the article, but now I have even less. For goodness' sakes! I second the fears expressed in the article that this could open the door for even more cases. Pretty damn idiotic of the court to say that this case shouldn't be used for future examples. Why the eff go through with it in the first place then? I'm going to stop now. Holy crap. =_=
