1. Oh... jeez, I forgot about this. @_@ Uhhhh, leave it open long enough for me to edit my previous post! I'll do it later tonight.
2. And am I also to believe that you and the AceofPlaces who posted an edit on the AZ forums are the same person?

3. Please tell me your "WHO WOULD DO THIS" comment on Shin's status was a reference to Awkward Zombie.

If not, carry on.

4. I'M POSTING THIS FROM MY IPHONE OH EM GEE

5. AND YOU AREN'T AT 900 POSTS YET, WOMAN. GET TO WORK!

6. You don't have many profile comments. Why is this, I must remedy this.

7. Nony

Oh hay cavity. I mean CaNz. :V

8. The anime I suggest to you is Mushi-shi. It is definitely not about fighting monsters in a tournament. In fact, it's a very calm show; mostly episodic, at that. It's... beautiful. I can't properly describe it, so you'll just have to go and give it a try to see for yourself.
9. For people participating in the Name That Anime thread, I edited my post since NO ONE GOT IT. =3=

was it one of the hacks? i didn't know which though :/

Naw, it wasn't .hack. That would be too expected of me.

10. We are going to be the bestest of friends. :>

11. OH! I just remembered another big one! The Friend Wall. Dear lord this has got to be one of the most annoying things to encounter when you're walking somewhere. A group of friends, which often tends to be composed of all females but not always, just has to walk together in a straight horizontal line. And in so doing, they block a good chunk of the walkable area. Frickin' FWs...
12. One of my pet peeves is when people respond with a "yes" when someone has asked them "do you mind?". That is not how it works. :|
13. Flippin' bus drove right past me this morning, even though I was running towards it flailing my arms. Jerk. :/

Must'a been like "OH HELL NO, I'M NOT TAKING THAT ONE!"

14. Apparently I never posted in this topic. Time to fix that! So I'll just gush about one cartoon that I've recently re-discovered for now: Hey Arnold! Yep, that wacky late 90's cartoon about various kids and adults livin' in a New York City-esque environment. It's a flippin' cool show. I liked it quite a bit when I was a kid, and I'm finding that I still like it now! Yay for no nostalgia backfire! What's neat about the show is they don't just follow the titular character, Arnold. Although he is the main character, there are plenty of episodes that follow other people, such as the boarding house residents, the kids from school, people in the neighborhood, etc. There are even episodes about Dino Spumoni, AKA the Frank Sinatra of the show. It's just so cool. The other thing is, they don't gloss everything over with sunshine and lollipops. People have problems; they don't live in the best neighborhoods or have the best family lives. Not every episode ends on a happy note. But I like that. I like that they were kinda showing kids, "Look, everything won't always be perfect, but you live on and grow." Or something like that. It's entertaining and slightly meaningful at the same time. And of course, my favorite character, Helga! Oh boy, she is special. What a lovely, angry, stalker of a girl! She's surprisingly deep for a kid's cartoon character, ya know? Although the show is good at character development in general, I always felt Helga's was done really well. Also, something I never really realized as a kid is that, her family is kind of terrible. Her older sister Olga is perfect and super emotional, her mother Miriam is an alcoholic (although she's never shown actually drinking any alcohol), and her dad "Big Bob" is an unfeeling jerk. Generally speaking, anyway. Her family members aren't just one notes either, but you get the idea. The only negative/weird things I'd say about the show are 1) the depiction of fifth and sixth graders. Oh my gosh these kids must've been held back until their teenage years or they've been taking steroids! What the heck, they're so huge! This can be argued away with, "But when you're in fourth grade, the fifth and sixth grade kids seem so big and mature." Even so, it's quite odd to me. And 2) man these nine-year-olds sure do a lot of stuff. They go out at night by themselves, go out on DATES at restaurants! Not to mention all the school and city events they do and the wide variety of them, although this isn't as strange as the going out at night on DATES at restaurants!
15. I have a composition/presentation paper due in Japanese class tomorrow. I'm halfway through finishing it. I figure, "Hey, I'll work on the rest of it while I'm at school!" Apparently though, the computers with Word 2010 don't have Japanese installed. :| Thanks, UW. Thanks. I guess I could at least write in romaji...
16. I know at least one person here who'll get this one easily: EDIT: Since no one seems to get it, the anime is Planetes. (I'm so disappointed in you, Shin. :/) Someone post something else then.
17. Even though I've never seen it, that kinda looks like Petite Princess Yucie.
18. What is it? Anime Mashups Thread started by our own Shinmaru Why was it nifty? It gave us all a chance to completely goof off. Either we could pair horribly mismatched songs and openings together or go for something deeper. It was all rad. And it also consumed our lives for several days. I'd say that's more than enough to be Nifty. What is it? Status Updates Why was it nifty? Screw Twitter, that's why. What is it? Boo's accent Why was it nifty? Everybody loves accents, and Boo's is no exception. 'Cause it's frickin' Boo. What is it? Heartcatch Precure Why was it nifty? Des' kawaii desu ne anime finally infected other people. That is a feat unto itself. Not to mention the show itself is awesome. Who is it? chibi-master Why were they nifty? I don't think I've met another person who's always so hyper and energetic. She's been a constant contributor to this site, and she also posts some neat art in the Art Studio that I always laugh at. Des prancing in the loli fields is something I will never forget. Who is it? Sangome Why were they nifty? cuz shes a fangurl and we all luv fangurls amirite? lololol What is it? The "futer" Why was it nifty? CaNz, the poor chap, made an unfortunately hilarious typo for a question for the Podcast guys. And now he will never live down that infamy. The "futer" is a monster that cannot be quelled. Good job, sir! Screw it, I don't want to think of anymore.
19.
Florence and the Machine - "Dog Days Are Over"
Hah! That's exactly what I'm listening to right now. I've been hearing it on the radio so much lately and, despite what my siblings say, I think it's a fun song. <3

*throws the bunny at you* There ya go, hug it all ya like. :V

23. I was gonna go on for a long paragraph about some economics-type stuff, but it's a repetitive point anyway. Instead, I'll go on for a long paragraph about something else that will hopefully be relevant! Here's a personal example: I buy basically every single .hack product that comes stateside, not to mention plenty of imported goods (like soundtracks). This is my message to any American licensing and distribution companies (and possibly even the Japanese companies too) that, "Hey, I like this series. Bring me more of this and I will eagerly hand over my cash." That's about all I can do and it's mostly worked thus far, to the point where even American .hack fans can legally get their hands on most of the .hack series in English (most of it, anyway). But it also really helps that there's not much of a competition when it comes to scanlations. There's been hardly any effort that I've seen toward scanlating .hack manga, and the efforts that have been made are so slow that soon enough the American company surpasses them in progress and quality. Nevermind fan translations of novels! That hardly ever happens with any series as far as I know. I can't say the fansub market is as dry, though; I think every .hack animation has been fansubbed at one point or another... but either way, we've still gotten most of the .hack anime released on DVD here within a reasonable time. So, basically, if you're a .hack fan, the companies have you in the palm of their hands. There is very little competition in the ways of scanlations and fansubs for their products; and hey, I'm happy as long as they bring over the stuff I want. However, this sort of case is more rare in these days, I think. It really depends on how much people value actually buying and owning an anime product. And frankly, it's not their job to buy everything that's out there; I certainly don't. I buy what I want, that's it (it just so happens that .hack eats up a lot of the little spending money I have). Similarly, it's not the company's job to let you have anime for free; they're a business after all. Therefore, as a business what they need to do is find a way to get people to watch their anime products in a way that makes them money that also competes with fansubs. And, frankly, no matter what they do or how successful they may be in providing such a service, I can't imagine they'll ever completely eliminate the people who simply want it for free, or who don't value it enough to spend money on it. And to that I say oh well, there's not much you can do to change those people's minds. I guess you could try getting them arrested for stealing, but I don't really know how you'd go about doing that, to be honest. Goodness gracious, I hope this was relevant... uhhhhh so basically, fansubs: good or bad? Ehhh, good for exposure of certain shows and advertising, bad in that the company doesn't do any actual advertising for themselves and in that people simply watch fansubs, never buying anything ever which will result in a reduction or destruction of the American anime market. Or something like that.
24. As of 10:23 PM, it is snowing quite heavily with a decent buildup of snow already on the ground... the implications this has for school tomorrow are great indeed.

25.
The Internet is becoming ubiquitous
I like your use of the word "ubiquitous" there, James. On topic, I don't know if I'd want my console to be a computer... I suppose I'm agreeing with Kat on this, in that I prefer my devices to specialize in one or two things (realistically it'd probably be more than just one or two tasks, but still). However, despite saying that, I own an iPhone. Which is a very useful phone. I have relied on it many times for when I need weather reports, map support when it comes to what bus to take, or even if I'm just plain bored and I want to play some Robot Unicorn Attack. That being said, there is something about my gaming devices that I don't want turning into computers. Perhaps this feeling will change over time as technology advances and as I possibly learn more about current developments. There's also what James mentioned about the internet becoming a ubiquitous thing. But, for now, this be my opinion. :V
