Right.. so I guess I need to post in this thread, huh? Hello everyone! I decided to invade-- err-- join the OB.
Well you don't have to post in it if you don't want to. =P But since you already did...
So, yeah... SunfallE will probably chain me here or something now, huh? :animesmil
Actually, I already did that when I saw you registering a few days ago. >_> So... you've already been chained to OtakuBoards.

Art Looking for a free downloadable art program PLEASE HELP!!!
SunfallE replied to WickedDreams's topic in Creative Works

Next time you can post it in my neat area of the forums: Art Studio
And in this case, I'll simply shuffle it over to your area. =P As others have said, GIMP is a free program that you can try. Better than paint and similar to photoshop. If I remember correctly the site for it even has tutorials to teach you how to use the program. -
Just a few notes in regards to what Lucia just did. =P To be clear, she was accessing what would be considered administrative or management files for the facility, stuff that is seperate from the actual traffic being run through the place. Also, her scoffing at it being
clumsily done (the use of reaper technology)
is just her overly perfectionist nature showing. It was actually fine, but not by her standards. I hadn't realized she was that much of a perfectionist until this post. o_O Oh and what was in the stuff she got a hold of, I left that vague on purpose so we can tailor it to fit whatever we need. I have my own ideas on that but we'll see. And before I forget, there could be vampires in the area or even a stronghold, but from where they were, anything like that was, of course, out of Sarvel's sensing range. If anything like that even exists. Yes I know that's horribly convenient. It's not like we have to actually use it for anything though. I'm just saying... >_>

At The Gates Of Retribution Phaidra eyed the blue haired Shinigami sitting in the living room to her abode. It was the first time Lucia had asked to talk to her since she set up a ward for her. Lucia was holding herself stiffly instead of relaxing as she explained why she had come. ?So you want me and Sarvel to come along to check for vampires?? Lucia nodded. ?I can?t sense them until I?m much closer, which means they can also sense me.? She was pretty sure that Phaidra couldn?t either, and so far their excursions had consistently proven that Sarvel was the first one to sense the 'dead spots' as she referred to them. ?I need to get closer in order to hack into an Internet exchange point facility. If I force an entry from here, it?s possible that it would be traced to this city.? Lucia elaborated. ?Internet exchange point facility?? Phaidra?s brow furrowed as she looked at Lucia. ?Yes, it?s a facility with a physical infrastructure that allows different Internet service providers to exchange Internet traffic between their networks?? Lucia stopped at Phaidra?s confused look. ?Never mind, that?s not important.? There was no point in explaining that to her, she started over. ?I believe that the vampires are using the facility in question to pass on information. I came across bits of an encryption for a message that was sent. It was related to the first place we visited. The message was using our technology or rather programming language to encrypt and direct it. When I tried sending out fake messages in an attempt to trace it, they?re diverted to the same location.? ?I see.? ?There?s no point in diverting messages or information to the same location unless someone is physically there or in the general area to receive it.? Lucia absent mindedly picked up the glass of water on the small table between the sofa Phaidra and Sarvel were sitting on and the chair she was reclining in. She took a sip before setting it back down. ?The only reason I can think of for using our technology, even if it?s in a limited fashion,? Lucia snorted at the thought since it had been clumsily done. ?Would be to keep the humans from being able to trace it.? Phaidra nodded, ?Makes sense.? Lucia finally leaned back a bit. ?If there are vampires in the area then we?ll know to keep our distance, I only need to be in the same city, not in the actual building.? She stared intently at Phaidra, ?If there are too many, we?ll leave immediately of course.? She waited while Phaidra considered her request and then smiled slightly at her response. ?Alright, as soon as our schedules permit, we?ll come along.? -------------------------------- ?So that?s the place.? Sarvel nodded towards the building at the bottom of the hill the group was standing on. ?Yes.? ?If there are vampires in the area, they aren?t close enough for me to sense them.? Sarvel looked up at Lucia. ?A couple of the humans in that place feel odd though.? ?Tainted?? Phaidra asked. Sarvel sat down. ?That?s what it feels like. All of the others have felt the same.? Lucia turned on her communicator and started searching for an entry point. ?Let me see if I can get in from here, it would be better to be inside, but we can?t hide from tainted humans.? ?That?s why they use them after all,? Ruby commented. Lucia mumbled an agreement and focused on getting in. It didn?t take her long. It was a pity that her communicator lacked the range to hack into a system that was more than 150 Earth miles. It was better than what they could do with their technology but if she ever got the time, she knew she?d look into boosting that distance. This would be simple though, they were within a mile of the facility in question. Once she was ready, she sent off another fake message to trace it to the actual location within the facility. She allowed herself to become focused on what she was doing as she searched for information, trusting in the others to keep watch. ?You getting what you want?? Phaidra asked softly. ?Yes and no.? Lucia tuned her out as she focused for a moment and then explained further. ?I think I?ve found what I want, but the security on it is a lot tighter than anything I?ve ever seen. I could push my way through, but if they realize someone is in there, they?ll simply turn off the power and cut my access.? ?So you don?t want to trigger the alarm correct?? ?Correct, I?d like to get what we want without them realizing someone got a hold of the messages being routed through this location.? If the security is this tight, then you know it?s hiding something. Lucia smiled to herself. It was rather clever actually. Using the humans like that, if her program hadn?t detected the code snippets, she would have never known. If she had relied on human means of searching, that was something she would not have picked up on. The question now was determining if this was another dead end or if there was anything or anyone of importance in the area. She had run into dead ends like this before. Where information was picked up and then manually moved to a new location to send it on. It made finding the connection extremely difficult. A soft chime told her she was into the files in question, the ones where the encrypted messages were being directed to. Lucia waited patiently for her program to finish pulling the files. Just a little more? Damn. ?Time to leave.? Lucia tucked her communicator into her pocket. ?My access was just cut off.? ?Were you able to finish getting what you came for?? Phaidra asked once they had taken to the air. ?I got over ninety percent of whatever was being stored there, it looked like that is cleared out every couple of days too, so whatever I got will be recent.? It was too bad she hadn?t gotten all of it; at least it would look like a hacker, she had been careful to have her programs also stealing other useless information, to help cover what she had been up to. ?Once I?ve had a chance to look at it, I?ll forward what I?ve learned to Nathan.?

I personally think that the sexuality thread is dumb because it's gone around so many times it's turned into a zombie, but does that change the fact that it's there? Nope. :p
No argument here either, we often endure threads that we'd rather kill instead of continuing to read the circular zombie behavior. I predict that the human rights thread will follow the same path. :animesigh Anyway, can't say I'd do anyone here or rather that most of you are too young.
In some cases, DNA in a baby can be traced to a father, and if the rapist was up till then not caught...
And semen gotten from rape victims who seek immediate treatment can be used for the same purpose, DNA identification, so following through on a pregnancy isn't really necessary. If the attacker didn't use a condom or other means to cover their tracks that is. Though like it's been said, the option to take something to keep it from happening after the attack is the best option.
While I find it disturbing there are people who think abortion should not be allowed in cases of rape and incest, I also applaud them for their consistency of belief.
I have to wonder how many who support this stance even understand or have experienced being raped. I can't speak for incest but rape, no one will ever convince me that it's acceptable to force someone to carry a child to term if that should happen. EVER. Anyway, I should copy and paste Nathan's post since that fits what I think. I am not religious, I do not see abortion as a sin. What I see as wrong is a system that doesn't provide enough support and education to help prevent unwanted pregnancies and offer solutions such as adoptions. What I don't accept is blanket attempts to remove the process and make it illegal. But requiring comprehensive counseling before one can get an abortion, that's something I'd be interested in seeing. Ah, before I forget, there is one concession, no late abortions, if it takes you forever to make up your mind, just have the child and give it up. The longer one waits, the harder and risker the procedure is.

Last time I checked, the law doesn't suddenly show favor one relationship instead of another. If you are talking about hte law aspect, then they have all the rights, and are free to exercise them, regardless of their will to do so. If you are not talking about law, then they can't have the rights, regardless of what law states. This is due to the fact that they are not a couple with a biological dicthotomy capable of producing children through intercourse. No amount of legal changes will create a "make believe" world where this is true.
I'm pretty sure she's talking about favoritism in regards to the legal rights that gay couples can't get since they don't have the option to be legally married, something she already mentioned in her post here:
Follow Link To Original Post
In that respect it is favoritism since there is no recognition for same sex marriages on a federal and local government level. Meaning they can't access the benefits that a regular couple can. So in a nitpicking manner, you're correct, they aren't suddenly showing favoritism to straight couples, they always have. lol Once again you skirt the issue so you can maintain your own views and keep them intact. Since you have clearly declared (in your continual rehashing of the same argument) that you will not accept same sex marriage or homosexuality as being normal in any manner, I kind of wonder why people continue to debate with you. I?ll be putting up a more official statement on quizzes in a bit. >_> I keep getting sidetracked. In the meantime? I can tell you right now Calypso, you?re quizzes were not approved since they were absolutely littered with spelling and grammar errors. The image results were distorted as well. When making a quiz there are several things you need to keep in mind.

Good spelling and grammar is a must.
You have to make your own image results.
No fan art allowed in image results.
No spelling errors on the image results.
Image results need to be decent quality and the text readable.
Also, once your quiz is submitted, give it some time to be approved; don?t keep resubmitting the same quiz again and again. :/ That?s a big no no. If you have other questions about quizzes, feel free to drop me a pm.

But yes, this discussion does seem to be slipping a bit.
Welcome to the hell known as The Lounge TC :p [I kid] It is normal for things to get off course around here though, especially in discussions about this topic. Because it's easy to forget that one: people don't have to respond and two: they have an ignore function for a reason. [I am not referring to you TC] Anyway my opinion on this topic has not changed. I'm just posting as a semi reminder to people to keep it civil and to think twice about posting when they're upset, since you'll say things that otherwise you might not.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you and a few other Christians here, but I'm 100% positive that certain faiths actually send out statements for their leaders at a local level to read to the members, telling them to vote against any law that would allow same sex marriage.
You are not mistaken. The LDS church does do this. I have not been a member of any religion in quite some time, but I have friends who are. I find this sad since it is something they did not use to do. Have a document sent to the bishop of each ward that they read to everyone at the beginning of the main meetings on Sunday. They tell their members how to vote and that just disgusts me. I won't go too far on this tangent though since it deviates off the topic too much.
In this I disagree, if their really was acceptance, they would offer the chance to change and simply leave it alone when the person refused, but they do not.
This is why I find that action of the church incomprehensible. They teach about making the right choice, and how you will have trials, but what kind of choice is it if you take it away to begin with? That's manipulative and controlling and something I personally cannot stand, and incidentally, one of the many reasons why I left said religion. Anyway, my stance has not changed. I don't believe it's wrong, even if it's a choice and they aren't born that way. I see it as a sign that there are still people in this world afraid of change or things being different that what they think it should be.

Funtime Thread of Humor and Mirth (and Junk.)
SunfallE replied to The Spectacular Professor's topic in General Discussion
Found this at youtube just now. Pretty nifty if you ask me. ^_^ -
Unknown Melody Lucia didn?t realize that she was actually humming to herself while she worked in her lab. It had taken close to three years to get things set up how she wanted. It would have been put together much sooner if she hadn?t been required to work. But what she got wasn?t near enough to cover the equipment she had purchased, or to handle the power requirements. That had required setting up something she had created using her technology. Once the search for information to track who was involved in the incident at the resort in Colorado had begun in earnest, she had immediately noticed attempts to trace any requests for information that she sent out. She had no desire to trust in the ward placed by Phaidra to keep out any serious attempts to locate her. A little research in the other direction had lead to sifting through standard investigation techniques. It had taken very little for her alter things to make it harder for someone to actually find her. She had even taken the precaution of building something using the crystal material to convert the spiritual energy, that powered her communicator, into something that could power most of her equipment. It hadn?t been too hard, to expand the initial concept and put it to practical use. Searches like hers required processing power and an increase in using such energy would show up in the records the humans kept. She had done the same for her access of the Internet, limiting how much was on the records by hacking into other?s systems and using their connection to aide in her searches. ?What song are you humming?? Lucia sat up straight with a jerk, her current search momentarily forgotten. ?What are you talking about Ruby?? ?You?ve been humming for the past half hour.? ?What?? Lucia stared at her. ?I have not.? Ruby snorted, ?have too,? she mocked. Lucia opened her mouth to reply and then changed her mind. Ruby had that look in her eyes that she got when she was feeling mischievous. Was I really humming? ?You promised me we?d go out for dinner tonight.? ?I?? Lucia gave her a hard look since she had done no such thing. Still a break probably wouldn?t hurt anything. ?Alright. Let me get this sent to Nathan first and we?ll head out.? It didn?t take her long since most of what she had found recently was just a few tidbits to add onto what they already knew. Tracking down who had been sending supplies to that resort in Colorado, among other things, was very tedious. She kept running into dead end after dead end. Whoever was involved was very good at hiding, though that just made it all the more exciting. It was almost as much fun as her own research was, working until you put the pieces together. It only took her a few minutes to transfer what she had gotten to her communicator before forwarding it to Nathan. She was standing up to leave when a prompt came up on the screen, indicating a file she had been after had just been retrieved. ?Lucia! Don?t you dare!? Ruby scolded when she opened it automatically. ?I?m just going to glance?? Hello, what do we have here? She sat back down. The message in question wasn?t much of anything but her program when decoding the encryption had produced something a bit odd. What the hell was code snippets that could have only come from Reaper technology doing in a message sent on Earth? "Lucia!" Ruby snapped. "Alright! Alright!" She stood back up. She wouldn't get much done if Ruby was yelling at her all evening. She waited for Ruby to land on her right shoulder before heading out.

Okay, so I lied. That post did not go up in a few days. >_> Real life just loves to get in the way of posting. XP Sorry about that.
