[COLOR="RoyalBlue"][FONT="Lucida Sans Unicode"]William was humming to himself as he lay on his back on the sofa in his quarters. It was an older lullaby that had been long forgotten. One of many that had been purged from the databanks throughout the Versilan Empire. He wasn?t entirely sure when he had heard it. He liked to think it was something his mother had sung to him when he was but a little child. It was a shame that the copy he had of it had been lost. Now all he had was a bittersweet memory from so long ago. Sometimes he wondered if people forgot that the fight was for more than trying to free the enslaved races. The slow purging of what the High Council considered questionable in terms of acceptable materials, was something that was often overlooked. He use to keep better track of things that vanished from their society. Once he took over running the Resistance he had been forced to put it aside. When civil war had broken out, those few members who kept track of things like that had been required to fill other duties. The thought that such cultural losses would end up being blamed on the current war pained him. William reached up and placed his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. Cultural losses were the least of his concerns at the moment. So many things were in play, the loss of just one link in the chain of events he was working to arrange could spell disaster. It was too soon for Kiva Salqarian to be done with her assignment. He hated to give her something that would be seen as being beneath her skills. However, it was far more important that she or anyone realized. It was but one feint to mask another?s movements. It would look like a failure and yet would hide the true success, provided things went as planned. Regardless, spreading the information he wanted to get out there, would have an impact even if the other part fell through. The other side of that worried him the most. He wished that particular path wasn?t so? erratic and unreliable. It had far too many risk factors for his comfort. It was the only chance he had though; he only hoped that it didn?t fall through. That, if it fell apart would be an even worse disaster. It would compromise the Resistance in so many ways. Well mainly himself but still. William sat up before reaching for his hand held computer that was sitting on the small table next to the sofa. There was nothing new to check into. He had hoped for one of his other agents to get word on what had happened with the Imperial Fleet where both Jason and Celestia were being kept. But that line of communication had gone silent. There were other agents in place, but their ability to pass information on was severely limited. Hopefully it was only a case of the agent keeping quiet. He took a moment to glance through all the new reports; there was still nothing from Sauvage yet. That didn?t really worry him. Sure it would have been better to get the information as quickly as possible, but so called tried and true methods would have not gotten the desired results. It would have been riddled with deceptions carefully woven into the information. Scorer was far too clever for anything else. He didn?t know what Sauvage had in mind, but he was positive that if anyone could get to the truth, it would be him. William stood up. He pocketed his hand held computer and made for the bridge. It was time to leave sector nine for a bit. He needed to get a few more things started. If all went well, it was possible that the war would be over soon. He wasn?t going to hold his breath though.[/FONT][/COLOR]

Unfortunately with the NYAF this weekend and Adam having his own panel and interviews to conduct, the timing was horrible. So that kind of made coordinating anything a bit of a pain. Anyway, I can see how you got confused Sabrina since the other thread gave the impression that it was okay to go ahead with the event, but posting in a thread isn't the same as having so many members on at the same time. If an event is going to work, you need to make sure the preparations are complete. In this case, the counter issue hadn't been solved and no one was sure if Adam had been contacted or not, things like that. I see no reason why we couldn't keep this in mind for say a future attempt though, but like others have said, we definitely need to get the deal with the "most members online" fixed or it won't have much meaning. Once that is done, then we can actually shoot for a date and start planning on how to get the word out. If someone could get back to me with a more definite answer, I can bring it up again with Adam and you too James, for promoting the actual date that is. ^_~[/FONT][/COLOR]

One - I don't really care what someone's sexual preferences are to a certain extent, unless it is infringing on the rights of another. And by infringing I mean taking advantage of a minor or forced contact. Two - I am not religious and the argument that some text that supposedly came from God ([SIZE="1"]who's existence I question to being with[/SIZE]) says it's wrong doesn't fly by me. I'm more likely to accept current laws than some that were written down thousands of years ago. Three - Ties in to number two: laws are subject to change. For a very good reason. As a woman, the very idea that we should be adhering to past laws that would include stripping me of the rights I currently have, is in my mind absurd. No deal. Four - Why would I care that someone else is having sex? Sometimes I think people worry too much over other people's affairs instead of tending to their own.[/FONT][/COLOR]

Where I'm living now you just don't see a lot of people who really change their appearance in that manner. Though that surprise does not translate into dislike, I've never had an issue with that kind of thing. I grew up with an uncle who along with a group of friends who would pull their motorcycles out and drive all over the US during the summers. That included them stopping by our place when I was little and many of his friends had lots of tattoos, so I grew up thinking it was normal that some people did that. =P Now for myself, other than getting my ears pierced three times, I have no modifications. I'm pretty happy with what I have so I don't plan on adding anything else to it in the future. [/FONT][/COLOR]

I see that reasoning as being ultimately flawed. If you're worried that we are messing up the natural order of things, that's been going on for thousands of years. We already extensively mess up what might be considered the natural order of things. So I don't see this as being any worse than what we already do. Something that Alex had said during the trip was bugging Lucia and now that they had been back for a few days; the two of them were going to the mansion where the Count had been situated to check it out. She was almost to the mansion when she felt Alex and Nall?s aura as they also approached, right on time too. Lucia came to a landing in front of the main door. Unless someone was capable of hiding their presence, there was no one there. Alex landed next to her and Ruby. ?[B]Are you sure you want to take a look? It wasn?t pretty you know.[/B]? Lucia snorted. She doubted it was worse than what Nathan had done to one of the vampires in that chamber where the trap had been sprung. Perhaps once they were done checking out the basement she?d go back and clean up what hadn?t decomposed yet. The ribbons of flesh had been dealt with and even the blood splatters cleaned up. If not for the odd energy trace or the fact that she had scanned it in person the same day it had happened, she wouldn?t have known that anything had ever happened in the mansion. It was as if no one had ever lived there. The thing that made it odd was she was pretty certain the humans couldn?t have done the job without leaving obvious traces that she would have picked up. Had other vampires done it? They were capable of using magic and that could explain the odd energy reading. As her and the others headed back towards the city, she made a note to forward everything she found to Nathan. [/FONT][/COLOR]

Lucia could see it all going down from her position inside the main security room for the resort. So far, everything was running smoothly. Both groups were dealing with the humans and vampires quickly and efficiently. Nathan?s manner of walking calmly up to the vampires before ripping one of their throats out had been a little startling though. He had moved so quickly that on the screen for the security system, it was nearly impossible to see. Lucia took a moment to start one of her programs so it would download all of the files in the system. If all went well the program would be finished before the two groups were. It would depend on what Nathan and Alex found in the caverns under the facility. Once they took the door heading down, she no longer had a visual for them. The security did not include that area. Her communicator?s scans told her they were there but that was it. She would have to rely on Nathan to gather the information with his scanner. She sighed a bit since part of her wished she was going there herself to get the data. Though if there were more vampires, she?d rather let Nathan be the one to deal with them. He was far more qualified than she was to deal with them. Ruby was watching the monitors while Nall was watching everything that she did. By the way his ears were twitching she figured it was only a matter of time before he started asking questions. She was not wrong. ?[B]I didn?t know you could do that kind of stuff with your communicator Lucia.[/B]? Lucia snorted slightly and didn?t say anything. [I]Having disagreements or questions come up during a deal like this isn?t a good idea.[/I] Though she wasn?t sure what she should do, if anything, primarily because she didn?t want to discuss it with anyone at all. Lucia sighed and went back to focusing on what the others were doing instead, putting it out of mind. She couldn't quite shake the feeling of irritation the question had brought forth though.[/FONT][/COLOR]
