Is Allamorph and I the only ones who like composed music around here? >.>
I thought this thread was suppose to be about one's Latest Musical Obsessions, so naturally I didn't list any ongoing ones. I've always been a big fan of Brahms works as well as Sergei Rachmaninoff and John Williams. ^_~ But like I said, I thought this was for the latest or rather newest obsessions that I was into, otherwise I'd be listing a lot of romantic and classical composers that I really like. Okay, more quick notes. Blayze, you will be getting your information from Aaryanna_Mom shortly and GuyYouMetOnline, I'm still getting a detail for yours that if I don't get it soon, I'll just give you the other objective I had in mind instead. In the mean time, if it helps any, unlike the other ships which can't detect the explosives... there is a reason for this that Rachmaninoff will be covering in his post. Anyway, the point is that the Catalyst, being a messenger ship would be able to tell which ships are rigged where the others cannot. So I imagine for now William is going to need her help in pinpointing the dangerous ships. Everyone else should have their stuff and if not, let me know so I can make sure to re-send it if needed. 1. What have your experiences with rudeness on the internet been? Depends on the context. For places like OB, not a lot. For past jobs that included doing online customer service work... I've run into a lot of rudeness, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing really. 2. Do you get affected by them, generally? Most of the time I am not affected. Since usually it's someone that as A_M put it, I see as a kid. I am in my thirties after all so It's really hard to take a teenager mouthing off seriously. I just see immaturity instead of real rudeness. 3. Have you ever been deliberately rude to someone over the Net, and why? I'm sure I have. I try not to, but in customer service, sometimes it's rather appalling how rude adults can be. Though it's probably more of me pointing out what an idiot they are instead of just being rude. It doesn't happen a lot. Fortunately. 4. Do you think there are times when it's justified? I think there times when to be frank, it's unavoidable. I learned that real quick in customer service, there will be people that being a bit rude in return or rather pointing out what a jackass they are is the only way things get resolved or to get them to knock it off. Most of the time, I think there is no justification though. 5. Why do you think people feel the need to make unecessary comments online? I think Crystia covered that one the best. The being behind a screen and therefore not immediately accountable for one's actions... gives people a sense of the words on the screen not being their own but something they agree with. Since I imagine many of them in real life, wouldn't say it in person.

I've been re-watching Lovely Complex since it's such a fun romantic comedy. And finally done. XP That post took forever! If it's not clear, I took it to the time where Daedalus had just stopped Litheway. So the fight is most likely wrapping up at this point. Anyway, now that I killed myself on that... I'm going to call it a night. I checked it for typos, but another check will have to wait until I have brain power again. Heh.

Alecia didn?t waste any time in heading towards the entrance to the Eshe Rehema Medical Center once she stopped to pick up a basic kit. Nor did she give much attention to the patients or the staff that was starting to panic, there just wasn?t time, not when she was fighting down her own feelings of horror and fear over what was happening. But at the same time, she couldn?t just hide either, hoping another remnant from an air ship wouldn?t hit the center. Alexander was right in that it was too dangerous and yet, she could argue it was the same for staying put after what had just happened to the building across the street. More than half of it crushed, just like that. There has to be survivors, I just know it. The trip down the hallway and then the stairs didn?t take very long; but it wasn?t going to be that easy to get out of the center though as the pair found their way blocked by four members of the military; members who had been helping out with the chaos caused by the attack on the Royal Police Guard Headquarters earlier in the day. She was going to have to convince them to let her and Alexander out, to allow her to organize a team to help retrieve any survivors and tend to their injuries. She came to a halt, facing the four with Alexander right behind her. ?Stand aside,? Alecia demanded in a no nonsense tone of voice. ?We need to see if there are any survivors and see to any who may have been injured when the building was crushed.? ?It?s too dangerous miss,? the closest soldier objected. ?We?ve already sent a crew over to check the building. If you want to help, stick to keeping people here from panicking.? Alecia started to object and halted when Alexander put his hand on her left shoulder, stepping forward to address the man. ?Do any of you even know how to treat someone who is injured?? ?Of course,? He nodded. ?Everyone when going through training is required to learn basic field medicine.? ?Basic training? Basic field medicine?? Alecia interjected incredulously. ?Are you out of your mind?? The soldier started to object but she brushed past him before he could stop her. ?If someone is seriously hurt and you don?t know what you?re doing, moving them would be fatal.? She glared at him sternly, her right hand on the handle to the main doors. ?If you want to help, you?ll start organizing relief teams to assist the doctors and the potionists who are willing to help out.? She indicated the group who had started to gather in the corridor upon realizing what she and Alexander were up to. He started to object again but Alexander just shook his head at him. ?You?re wasting your time, we?re going.? He pushed past them as well. ?We?ll be counting on you, so don?t let us down.? Alecia took a deep breath and pushed the door open, leaving the building, closely followed by Alexander. She didn?t get very far when for the briefest moment she faltered as the sounds of the fight above them became more vivid without the walls of the building to muffle the horrible sound of gunfire, the explosions from the heavier fire sounding almost like she was right there. It was unbelievably loud and terrible, making her feel the urge to turn around and run back inside. The horrible stench of gunpowder and smoke made her feel sick to her stomach. What am I thinking? She could feel herself starting to tremble in fear. What good will I be if I?m too afraid to even move? She came to a halt at the sound of even more debris raining down onto the city her breathing starting to race. Gods, I?m such a fool! Alexander caught her by the shoulders, turning her so she was facing him. Unlike her, his expression was more calm, or so it seemed to her. I should have listened to him. I should not have left the building. She flinched at the sound of what had to be something larger hitting the city off in the distance. I should have never come out here! She could feel tears starting to run down her face, her fear of the situation starting to drown out her ability to reason. How can people hurt others like this? This is madness! But then to her surprise, instead of guiding her back inside, Alexander merely gave her the tiniest of smiles. ?Everyone feels that way you know.? He explained, his voice surprisingly quiet in comparison to the hellish noise of the battle raging above High Czenoble. ?How??? He just smiled even more. ?You focus on one thing at a time, doing your best to not let what?s going on around you to bother you.? Alexander just waited patiently for her to gain some of her resolve back, behaving as if nothing was going on around them, something that was hard for her to understand. Though it was oddly soothing to see him appearing to be so calm in spite of what was going on around them. Alecia took several deep breaths, ignoring the urge to run back into the center before she finally nodded, turning to head across the street when he let go of her shoulders. If I quit now, I?ll never be able to forgive myself. It was of no real comfort, but it was enough. The trip over to the building was quick and yet felt like an eternity just the same. So many things were going on and Alecia was trying to take it all in, to absorb what was going on all around her. There was the noise of the battle raging above their heads, the sound of debris as it fell on the city, a deep rumble that she felt in the ground when yet another part of a ship slammed into the ground with a terrible roar several blocks over. There was the sound of screams from people who were either terrified or hurt, along with that of people panicking. Though some were staying put while others were attempting to flee the madness going on above them. There were members of the military still on the ground, doing their best to attempt to get the people who were trying to flee back under the shelter of the buildings. Just as many of them were helping those who had been hurt by the falling air ship parts. Everything was overshadowed by a cover of dust and smoke as the fires that had been put out were now starting back up again. It was in short, overwhelming, and then her and Alexander were at the building that had been partially crushed and there was no more time to even think about the rest of the city. To Alecia?s relief the crew the soldier back at the center had referred to was already there, some of them checking as best they could for any survivors while the others were helping those who were trapped in the parts of the building that had not been crushed. The remains of the air ship that had hit looked to be a part of the engines with all the metal parts and how it was still smoldering and radiating a terrible heat. It was too hot for any of them to get close enough to see if anyone was close to it. ?Oh my?? Alecia choked when she realized that there were charred bodies that had been half crushed by the monstrosity that had destroyed the building. Hastily she turned her head away, moving instead to help some of the soldiers who were in the process of unburying what appeared to be other members of the military. Two of them were clearly dead, their injuries fatal. While the crew was helping the other three who were pinned under the rubble; one was attempting to stanch the flow of blood from a badly mangled arm. Either the young man was panicking or he had no idea what to do as he attempted to help the injured soldier. Alecia just moved in instantly, taking over since she knew just what to do. It was with real relief that they moved aside to let her take over. Alecia knew that pale look, she had seen it so often, that barely controlled queasiness of one unaccustomed to blood. She just smiled kindly and shoved the young man towards one of the others who Alexander was already helping them unbury. While she swiftly tied up the wound and applied the necessary powders to help slow the bleeding, the others finished getting the others out. She had been so caught up in what she was doing that Alecia didn?t even notice when more helpers from the Eshe Rehema Medical Center showed up to take the injured back with them. Alexander had barely helped Alecia back to her feet when a violent explosion rocked the entire city, causing the buildings and the ground to tremble. With a resounding roar the rest of the damaged building began to collapse. The two, after a startled glance at the wall that was leaning in their direction, broke into a run towards the street, barely getting clear of the building as it came apart. ?What the hell was that?? Alecia stammered as the two looked around wildly for whatever had caused the explosion. But there was nothing that they could see, other than the continued battle above them. A battle that entered a new level of insanity as one of the ships deliberately rammed one of the other air ships causing both of them to explode and then shower the city with even more wreckage. ?Gods? they?re insane.? Alexander exclaimed as the two moved to help whoever needed it, trying to make sense of the madness around them. As they went from building to building, as one rush of debris after another fell, they continued to help those who had been less fortunate. Five more times, terrible flashes filled the sky as more ships rammed into the others. It was if the sky was grieving as more metal and even the dead rained down on the already battered city. Before Alecia could gag at the sight of mutilated bodies that had hit the ground, her attention was caught by one of the larger pieces of the destroyed air ships landing in the middle of the street in front of the charred remains of the Royal Police Guard Headquarters, instantly crushing a group on the ground that couldn?t get out of the way in time. Sickened, Alecia turned away, fighting the urge to be sick, somehow she knew if she was, she?d lose it. ?If they don?t stop this and soon,? Alecia ignored the tears running down her dirt streaked face. ?The city and everyone will be destroyed.? ?Alecia,? Alexander started to say but she wasn?t listening, already moving to the next area where cries for help could be heard, forcing him to run to keep up with her. So far they had managed to escape harm, but he wondered just how long they could continue to do so as a new sound caught his ears. One that looking up briefly proved to be the small fighter craft that the First Air Fleet had at it?s command. Both of them were covered in dirt and soot as they continued to help as many as they could, along with those from the medical center who were brave enough to venture out in to the war zone. And yet even with their help and that of the military that was still in the area, it was heart wrenching to hear the cries for help that were becoming too many for them to get to them all. Alecia was already exhausted and she wondered how Alexander was holding up as he too looked about ready to collapse. She was kneeling in front of the restaurant that her and Alexander often spent their lunch time at, thinking how it was ironic that now she was there helping a poor fellow who had been hit by falling debris. She had just finished bandaging him up with the last of the materials she had with her with a brilliant explosion lit up the sky. Both of them looked up briefly as for just a moment it seemed as if Czenoble had a second sun and then the light faded. To both of them, it seemed if the battle was finally starting to come to an end, but as exhausted as she was, Alecia wasn't sure if she was imaging it or not. With a shake of her head, she got to her feet with Alexander's help and simply looked for the next person who needed help. I hope this is over soon.

Alright, as you can see the next event is up and I'm sure you can guess by my post that things are going to get ugly for the New Alliance. I do have more objectives and I expect to get all of those out no later than tomorrow. I've sent off some pm's and once I get responses back I'll be able to finalize a few things so we can get going. Two points of reference to keep in mind, one, the Transcendence is on board the Liberator. I'm assuming that's a typo in your post GuyYouMetOnline since Kiva is in the Catalyst. It's not a big deal, I mean I didn't even notice it until I re-read the posts this morning before putting mine up. But that detail is important for another event since the Transcendence needs to be on the Liberator for it to work. Next point, the code Daniel got from William was a type of emergency override code and not specifically for that security system in sector four. Kind of like the codes he had for bypassing the automated systems in sector fourteen. Not a big deal really, but I thought I'd clarify that just the same. Anyway, if there are any questions, let me know, though until I get you those objectives I'm thinking you won't have any.

Banner by Aaryanna Things were finally back on track for the New Alliance with the successful take over of sector four. With the arrest of Representative Flynt and Representative Koles, sector three had also finally broken off from the Versilan Empire. Cutting their ties to the High Council and incidentally revitalizing the war efforts. Even now the news that two of the core systems had joined was spreading like wildfire, creating chaos and disbelief among the other systems still loyal to the High Council. After all, it was one thing for the sectors that were home to the conquered races to break off, but for two of the six main sectors to willingly join? It was a major shock to the other four and just made William smile as he busied himself with all the reports coming in. Not only that, the progress being made by Darren Anderson with the messed up transmission was coming along nicely. It had required authorizing the use of a small hand held computer, but he had felt it worth the risk. His information indicated that Darren lacked the expertise to even do anything with it to send a message and it was a simple matter for him to make sure he couldn't. The only thing irritating Darren, besides being forced to sort the data, was how he wanted to know who William was and there was no reason to tell him. William made sure the crew knew as well. Once the data was sorted, then if he knew he didn't care. He pulled his attention back to the reports and to the plans for their next move. At the moment Commander Landers was heading for sector three to help with the switch over and to get their defenses in place for when the main fleet in sector one moved to put an end to the sectors breaking off. Things were going to get tricky from now on. Timing was going to be crucial if they were to have a hope of winning. He was still sitting on the details of the forbidden research from the third project that had been running in sector fourteen before they destroyed the research facilities there. William wanted to release it as soon as possible since he was certain it would cause enough of an uproar that other sectors might even break off too. The citizens, even those who were still loyal, were tired of the secrets and lies from the High Council. If we time this right, releasing it could possibly end the war. And even if it didn't, the data he was hoping Kiva had gotten would make a difference too. By learning who was working for the Empire, they could at least start dealing with that particular problem. He sighed as he turned back to the plans for which sector would be next once Commander Landers was done. "Sir! We've got reports coming in that all sectors are under attack!" What the...? Startled William looked up from what he was doing. All sectors? That can't be right. There was no way they could have managed to get into all of the sectors. But the moment that thought crossed his mind, one of the newly arrived supply ships in orbit slammed into one of the other ships before exploding. Damn! "Go to Amber Alert! Find out what the hell is going on!" He snapped out as he pulled up the emergency battle screens as the fleet there scrambled to battle readiness as he attempted to find out what the hell had gone wrong. He winced as another supply ship did the same as the other one had, slamming into a ship before it too exploded. Is that... "Pull clear of all supply ships at once! Order all transport ships to power down immediately, any ship that does not comply immediately is to be destroyed!" "Sir?" "Just do it! Send the order out to all sectors immediately!" He didn't know how the hell they had managed it, but somehow they had to have sneaked in some suicidal crews, or had they? He wasn't sure just what was going on, but his instinct was telling him it had to be the High Council. The only question on his mind was how the hell had they managed to trick the system? You couldn't just pack a ship with explosives and send it on it's way, it just didn't work. William knew from experience that the changes Darren had implemented since he became the Shipping Expert that it wasn't that easy to get around going through the protocols. It had forced him change how he got around as a fake merchant. He shoved the thought aside, once they got it under control, he was going to have a little chat with Darren, but for now, he had to find all of the ships that were not what they appeared to be. He winced again as another ship was destroyed, the fleet not managing to get to it before it took out a civilian passenger ship. Oh hell! They're targeting whatever ship is closest! That changed everything and would make getting rid of the rigged ships even more difficult. I hope to hell we don't get an attack right now, he thought. If that were to happen, it would be a total disaster.

Though I like both, I only wish Symphonia had been a little less chibi and had more cut scenes. Relying on the characters to talk instead of taking the time to do some nice animations for important events.
That was my biggest hang up to Tales of Symphonia since I had played both of those games before I ever played ToS. That fun trailer or rather intro was why I even bought the game in the first place. And though I enjoyed it and finished it several times, I never quite got over the disappointment of next to nothing as far as cut scenes go. I got spoiled by the Lunar Games. I mean Lunar 2 Eternal Blue had over an hours worth of those weaved into the game. But that's just something I enjoy, things like that make it more fun for me. I really detest the use of conversations or rather skits to get that effect since the Lunar games had lots of fun conversations as well. XP I still like the game though, enough that I've probably put over a hundred hours into playing it.

Even with the poor quality due to when it was recorded, it's still obvious how talented he was.

I've heard the site mentioned before, but I have no interest in it. I do like the idea of being able to unburden as far as a terrible secret goes, but it all honesty it feels more like a reality show in that it's staged. Yes I'm sure there are lots of honest people's secrets there, but considering the venue... the fact that it's on the Internet, like those talk shows that do the same thing... I have never liked that kind of thing. Because the temptation to embellish things is often more than people can take. I prefer keeping secrets to a select few I know I can trust. So yeah, I'm sure it's fun and even good for some, but the one The13thMan posted is more than enough for me to say thanks, but no thanks. -

What is your opinion on military service? Would you ever serve in your military? What's your opinion on the military?
I have mixed feelings on the military. Yes its necessary but... like any other type of occupation it has it's hang ups and since Starwind already touched on that a bit I won't bother to go into it. Now would I serve? No. Even if I could I would not. I have absolutely no interest in that at all, even though I could have accepted a job to work truck driving in Iraq on account of the need even though I have no military experience. It's something my cousin, who is still currently driving did and right now, he's regretting the decision. Now as for my opinion on service in the military... if it's something you are interesting in and suits your needs then by all means go for it. It's certainly admirable to do if your up to it. I certainly know plenty of people who do, lots of them my own cousins and other relatives. It's just not something I want to do.

I got back in the mood for playing Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. Though I beat it already on the normal level and cleared two of the three bonus dungeons that become available after doing so, I decided to start on the next level of difficulty for the main story. I'm about two thirds done and so close to finally unlocking the last level of difficulty for this game. Once I beat it and some other things on the hard level, I'm thinking that should be enough Battle Trophies to finally unlock the last level. Though I'm not sure if I'll want to play it or not.
Oh and while I?m here? *snickers* We decided to nail Indi for April Fools so one of my friends got a copy of the Caramelldansen song and we made a disk with nothing BUT that song on it. I then switched out her cd player this morning and put that disk in. :D She didn?t realize I had made the switch until after she left for school for the day. I of course gave back her real disk when she got back a little while ago and came into my room with the disk and called me a brat before asking for the real one back. Oh was that fun! :catgirl:
Ah, excellent. I was wondering if you managed to switch the disks this morning. I can only imagine Crystia's expression upon realizing that her disk had nothing but that song on it, I wish I had seen it. *laughs* :catgirl:

I'm going to avoid that link just the same, since I'm often logged into a lot of things, and some of them, closing the browser automatically logs me out of the session. As well as where I am when it comes to work, which when it happens, is annoying since I lose everything and have to get back to where I was. Fortunately it doesn't happen a lot though. But I sure as hell am not going to do it on purpose. lol Anyway, I can handle the dancing, silly avatars and videos in the signatures. Those just make me laugh.

If we are talking about recent musical obsessions then I have to list Nightwish. I picked up Dark Passion Play last fall and recently picked up their Once album. [this is where Allamorph snickers] But it doesn't change the fact that I really enjoy their music. It's not often that I get something that I like that much. Perhaps not as much as Crystia but still. :p It's that combination of metal with what I consider my type of music, the symphonic side. I love orchestration and soundtracks to movies so that part of those two albums is what draws me to it in the first place.

EDIT: Sorry, it seems I misunderstood what was happening here (how typical of me). I was just worried that since this thread and the game itself have been quite inactive lately, there was something preventing people to post. Now it's cleared up that Malkav is doing a post next, although there are still other players not involved in that event who are also free to post.
The only thing preventing me from posting is that I've had a very busy schedule lately. In addition to working out some details with Rach on what to do and just who will post the next part. We plan on posting something with Alecia and Alexander to cover the chaos caused by the battle going on overhead. Especially since I'm sure debris and other things are raining down on High Czenoble at the moment. Anyway, if all goes well, either Rach or I will be posting later tonight or tomorrow with that.

For some reason, a fight between Gavin and Crystia seems like something that would end in a draw or rather that both would have equal wins and losses. I can't see a clear victor at all. You two are evenly matched in many ways. Heh. Story Plot and character Building a memory To good to put down Book Anyway, if the contest is anything like this thread, it's definitely going to be fun to be a part of since simple stuff like this is great.
