Kendra didn't remember what had happened, not really. She had been checking the engines trying to figure out what was causing the unusual readings and the unexpected power drain that wouldn't let her leave or contact the bridge. The last thing she remembered was feeling slightly dizzy and then waking up to find Dr. Sanderson hovering over her while she felt so horrible cold that at first she couldn't even speak. And even now as she headed towards the the sick bay along with Dr. Sanderson she still felt horrible cold deep inside. If not for what the doctor had given her she would have been shaking from it. What in the world is going on here? She wondered as they finally left the engine room as this time the doors opened like they should and the display for the readout of the engines was working properly as it should. But before they could even reach sick bay the entire ship lurched and for the briefest of moments the gravity controls cut out, resulting in both Kendra and the Doctor being tossed into the side of the ship and then to fall heavily to the floor when the gravity was restored. "What the hell is going on here!" Kendra snapped in frustration as she got up off of the floor. She started to head for the bridge only to halt when Dr. Sanderson caught her sleeve. "Let go Doctor, I don't have time to head to sick bay." But Dr. Sanderson did not let go. "You won't do anyone any good if you're dead." She said frankly. "You need something more potent than a simple stimulant. It won't take more than a few minutes for me to give it to you, but to do that we have to go to sick bay where the medicine is located." Kendra sighed. "Fine, lets just hurry and get this over with, I need to get to the bridge and find out what happened." Dr. Sanderson smiled a bit. "Fair enough, now lets go." She didn't let go of Kendra's sleeve though as if she was making sure Kendra didn't head for the bridge just the same. True to her word, once they were inside it took her very little time to retrieve the medicine and administer it. "I'll be along in a bit to check on you, if you go somewhere else on the ship be sure to check in with me first." She gave Kendra a look that told her she had better do as she told her. Kendra mumbled something along the lines of agreeing and then dashed out of the sick bay and took off for the bridge at a run. But when she got inside what she saw caused a chill to run down her spine. Warning lights were flashing and across the main screen was a warning that a collision between the Argo Navis and the unknown space station was imminent. "What the hell is going on here?" She demanded as she quickly took her seat next to Bishop and started taking a look at the readouts. "I have no idea." He replied shortly. "All I know is there was some sort of glitch in the systems and now I've lost control of the helm. If I can't get it fixed and soon, in approximately four hours we're going to collide with that piece of junk over there." Bishop went back to going over everything in an attempt to figure out what the problem was. "Lovely." Kendra groaned and then she turned to Brianna Henderson who had been oddly silent since she came to the bridge. But other than to give her a grim look she said nothing. Post people! Post! :p I'm just goofing off even though the cancellation effect is gone. Though it's ironic since I don't care anymore. lol Also, Sandy! [is whining] That horrible undead card needs to go! ^_~ Also, I'm sure Crystia can sail in there and have fun with what I just set up. Making poor Charlotte the [strike]victim[/strike] bearer of the passion power. hehehe

"What a bother." Bellanna sighed mournfully. "Whatever could you mean my love?" Illyria asked her. Bellanna turned to Illyria glancing at her as though irritated. "I refer to how we are so close to the end of this and yet all of you are just standing around doing nothing." "It will end soon enough, you'll see Bellanna." Illyria soothed. Bellanna turned back to observe the souls. "So long as you do not win I do not care what the outcome is. Even a world without passion would be better." "It would be best if we split up to search for baby Kenneth." Marta advised. "Patrick obviously can't do anything about being cursed and I, for the moment, can at least see the truth so I am less likely to be affected by it." "Are you sure?" Charlotte asked. "Wouldn't it be better to stick together with that mad woman on the loose?" "She's right," Naomi agreed. "And splitting up will make it easier to move without drawing attention to ourselves. Besides, I have no interest in going anywhere with Patrick." She ignored his hurt look. "It's settled then." Marta hushed Patrick when he moved to object. "You don't have a say in this, we wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for you." Patrick looked down at the floor. "I'm sorry." Though a part of him felt anything but sorry. As soon as we're alone, I can head off on my own. It wouldn't be hard to lose an older woman like Marta, she wouldn't be able to catch up. But until then... Patrick simply followed along as they went one way and Naomi and Charlotte went another way. Naomi watched until Marta and Patrick were out of sight. "Good riddance." She growled. "I still say we shouldn't have helped that fool." She turned to Charlotte only to pause at her wide eyed look, as if Charlotte wasn't even in the same room. "Charlotte?" She grabbed her shoulders and shook her gently. "Charlotte!" Charlotte however, for the moment was seeing something else, the barest hint of a woman of great beauty and a feeling of something warm, fiery and unexpected entering her soul. What is going on here? She wondered when she realized she could not see Naomi anymore and could not move. It's simple child, the Ragnarok is far from over and I am displeased with how things have progressed. Charlotte both shivered in fear and pleasure from the tone in that voice, it was the most confusing and startling feeling she had ever experienced. The voice sighed. Worry not over it child, simply understand that for now you will house my power of passion, even if for now it is useless against the one who has taken your child from you. But if the timing is right, that will change. You will understand when the time is right. And then just as suddenly Charlotte found herself facing Naomi who was shaking her gently and calling her name. What just happened? Charlotte felt different somehow. Power of passion? What in the world was the voice talking about? Am I going mad? "I'm alright Naomi," Charlotte finally said. "What happened?" Naomi was puzzled. "For a few minutes it was like you weren't even there." She gave her an odd look. "There's something different about you but it makes no sense." "What do you mean by something different?" Naomi blushed slightly. "Well it's just that." She paused and blushed again. "I must be imagining things. Lets go." "Please! Tell me!" Charlotte demanded. Naomi laughed nervously. "Charlotte, just let it go please?" She turned away and hastily started moving towards the next set of doors. There was no way in hell she was going to admit that for a moment she had actually found the woman attractive. I must be going crazy from being in this insane place. She thought since she had never been attracted to another woman before. Just a heads up, for those of you waiting on a new objective I'll have that to you in the next day or two. I've just been on the busy side lately. So if there are any loose ends you'd like to tie up, now would be the perfect time. :catgirl:
-
No worries Kathy, as you can see I'm behind on this as well. However, things are going to change and soon. I've altered and handed out new objectives so we can wrap up the space station mystery and get going on the gate one. If anything is unclear, just let me know. :catgirl:

Very, very straight. I have always dated guys since that's mainly what I'm attracted to. XP The only problem I run into every now and then is that what attracts me to someone is personality traits so I have run into girls who were just as attractive as guys. Not that often, but it has happened. But since that's more rare and I don't get the more instant physical attraction like I do with a guy, I would have to think that means I'm straight. I thought at one time that I was perhaps bisexual, but I kind of don't really believe that anymore.

Well here's one of me. It's from two months ago on a hike with Rachmaninoff and his friends. XP It's not the best picture since it was really windy and it was taken with a bad camera. In private since the death of her older brother and unexpected ascension to the throne she is more shy and reserved as she is not accustomed to power and still worries over those who see her as being weak. Appearance: Here Elisabeth is blonde haired and blue eyed as many Germans are. She stands at about 5?7? and is of medium build. Due to her extensive training as a child she is quite graceful and poised. Family History: Originally Elisabeth was being educated and raised with the sole intent of her family marrying her to a neighboring country to strengthen the ties between them and Germany, however her older brother Andrew was killed when he accidentally fell into a barrel of ale and drowned. Since he was not yet married and had no heirs Elisabeth was crowned Queen of Germany and has been ruling in his stead for just over a year now. She has one younger sister who is but ten and she raises her as if she were her own as their parents passed away when the youngest was but five. Though both of them live in comfort as a result of Elisabeth?s status as the Queen, it is a bit of a lonely existence for both of them as they miss their parents and their older brother quite a bit. Occupation: Queen of Germany. Though new to her position Elisabeth is very determined to ensure the future of her country and the well being of her citizens. Such thoughts would be most unbecoming for one who is suppose to rule and guide the people.

Even if Treisleilai was out of the game, Bellanna no longer cared. She had argued extensively with Paraxis earlier but to no avail. And now, even if she wished it she could not walk away. So instead she simply turned her attention to the pool showing the few souls remaining and waited until the time she could move on. In her opinion, it couldn't come soon enough. Jeanne had gotten free of the coffin that the others had buried her alive in. Though looking at herself she wondered if she even was alive, though even that did not matter, what did was killing those who had done this to her. Every last one of them, she would tear them to tiny pieces. She looked around to see just what she could use, Jeanne still had the bullets but the gun... with a hiss of satisfaction she walked over to where her severed arm, still holding the pistol in it's fingers was resting on the ground. She bent over to pick it up and was surprised by it moving on it's own. Without understanding why she picked it up and held it over next to the cut. It had to be part of the curse placed on her by Death for though her flesh was still rotting the bones when places next to one another though not truly reattached came together and stayed. Jeanne moved it around a bit before turning to fire at the nearest tree to test it. Smiling to herself when it was obvious that it would work. "It's time to pay fools." She hissed to herself as she looked for signs of where they had gone after leaving her for dead. Jeanne pulled out the small box of bullets she had and though it was a little more difficult to do so with the broken fingers of her left hand, she was still able to pull out the empty shells and replace them with loaded ones. Then another moment to rip off the parts of her dress that hindered her movement and she was off, following what seemed to be footsteps and the occasional drop of blood, most likely from the boy that she had shot earlier. Such a pity that he still lived, though she would correct that soon enough. Jeanne continued until she came to the entrance of an older stone building, without hesitation she entered it, following the logic that they would have sought shelter for the boy who was hurt. And sure enough, it wasn't long until she saw him, all alone carrying a baby. What the? Confused she followed him, wondering just what in the world was going on and yet thinking that if he had the baby, he would most likely lead her to all of them. It was then that she realized his wounds were gone and her patience snapped. Without further hesitation she raised the gun and fired. Hitting him in the right shoulder from behind. Jeanne smiled at his cry of pain as he stumbled and landed hard on his knees, the baby he was holding spilling out of his arms to land on the floor and start crying as well. Moving swiftly she didn't give him a chance, kicking him from behind where she had shot him and then pinning him down by virtue of standing on the gunshot wound. "If you know what's good for you, you'll tell me where the other fools are." She said, even as she twisted her heel into his shoulder causing him to cry out even more. "I... I... I don't know where they are!" Patrick cried out. "I left them hours ago!" "Then that makes you useless, doesn't it?" Jeanne taunted him. But Patrick didn't reply. She nudged him again, but this time he was silent having passed out from the pain. "Worthless fool," Jeanne snapped as she took her foot off of him and turned her attention to the crying infant. "Now little one, the question is whether or not keeping you alive to lure the others here is worth my time or not."

One of the major arguments I hear against this bill is the issue of gays and lesbians finding their way into showers, locker rooms, and bathrooms of those of the opposite gender. If you were a parent, would you want ANY male in the same bathroom as your daughter? This opens a path for potential pedophiles to share the same bathroom as your 10 year old. Say I'm a hater, but this is potentially possible. This isn't crazy theory, this could very well happen if this bill becomes the law of the land.
I'm not sure if I follow you here, if only because I don't think someone who is gay or lesbian is more likely to be a pedophile than someone who is considered straight. I can see why parents wouldn't want say a lesbian coach to see their daughters in the shower or locker area, but at the same time, pedophiles aren't limited to same sex only. So honestly I don't see how this law would make that more of a problem, at least as far as pedophiles go.
Money and politics baby. That's all this is. Reps don't really care about homosexual discrimination or any other number of things, they get paid by special interest groups to do their thing. Or they think that doing this whole Congress thing for a career is a good gig. Sad but true.[/FONT']
As much as I hate to agree with this, I must.
"Money and politics"? Just because the media hypes up PACs means all Congress members are corrupt and evil? People think all Congress members are in it for money and power, and that's a bunch of BS. A lot are, a lot aren't. PACs support campaigns, not personal wealth. There are actually federal laws on PACs that ban the personal wealth growth of a Congress member by PACs, and while PACs can find loopholes, it's not like no one cares and accepts it as the norm. Jack Abramoff isn't representative of everyone in Washington. Campaigns need money because now people are too lazy to actually learn about politics and rely on TV ads and the media. If you want to say "congress is corrupt and follows money" and not do anything about it, don't complain about it either.
Actually, it's not that hard to do a little research to find that many members of congress have all sorts of issues. From spousal abuse, being arrested for fraud, writing bad checks, doing time for assault, bad credit, drug related charges, getting arrested for shoplifting and for drunk driving. Just do a search on google and you'll find all sorts of interesting things about those supposedly non-corrupt congress members. The law about wealth doesn't stop them from being wealthy to begin with, and to accuse people you don't even know of being lazy as a reason why campaigns need money? That's a bit of a stretch really. Quite a few people get informed without paying attention to the campaigns that are run. Because you know... they aren't lazy at all. Anyway, in the end I am cautiously in favor of this bill, and the only reason I say cautiously is because I need to read up on it to fully understand just what it entails. I only know that like the article Rach linked to, job discrimination based on sexual preference is common in Utah. Especially in the education system.

James, the Commander for the Elite Specialists and Task forces was trying to do his best to not sigh. Even though order had been restored and the High Council was back in power, it did not change the fact that many of them still resented that he along with the other Commanders of the military had seized control when news of treachery and treason had been confirmed. James just leaned back a bit in his chair, semi-tuning out the proceedings since most if not all of what they dealt with really didn't concern him. Given a chance, he would have rather skipped all of the meetings he was required to attend. At first he had thought Stevens was an idiot for continuing to serve on the Conqueror once he had been promoted to full Council Member status, now, he knew better. And though he understood the need and the requirement that by law he or one of the other four Commanders were required to attend the meetings, he had come to greatly dislike it. James was just glad that they were almost to the closing part of the meeting that would deal with the status of the Civil War. He already knew what was going to be discussed though. "Are they always this..." James turned his head slightly towards his aide who was sitting next to him, the usual one being called elsewhere. He smiled at the young man's look of embarrassment upon realizing that he had voiced his thoughts. "Even worse," James replied, just loud enough for him to hear and no one else. Then he turned his attention back to the meeting as the next member spoke up, his voice carrying clearly though the massive chamber. "As many of you are already aware, the top research facility in sector fourteen along with the settlement and the military outpost has fallen to the New Alliance. We can only assume that all knowledge of the three projects there were seized as well." James just rolled his eyes and interrupted, "There's no assumption about it. Kiva Salqarian was the one responsible for heading the investigation when it was originally discovered that information was being leaked from the facility. Whether or not the New Alliance obtained the information or not is irrelevant. Kiva had access to it as her role as an Elite Specialist." James stood up, taking over for a moment, ignoring the irritated look sent his way by the Council member who had been speaking. "It's obvious that the only reason the New Alliance did not release the information was to avoid compromising Kiva's undercover role as an agent working for the Resistance." "Commander James," He started to reply, the irritation in his voice evident. "Spare me the small talk and get to the point gentlemen. The real issue here is where did the New Alliance's fleet go next? Unless they are complete fools they would have headed to sector thirteen immediately. They already had the information for the research projects in sector fourteen, there was no need to bother with that sector unless you wished to secure it to keep your own forces from being surrounded on all sides." He looked at each of them, waiting for what he was saying to truly sink in. "Their original target was sector thirteen." One of the other members finally spoke up as it became clear what he was referring to. "Exactly," James confirmed. "And this brings up another point that I wished to cover, we are at war and the time for secrecy needs to end. In the past depending on what was happening only certain factions dealt with an aspect of our government, we need to end that." "I assume you are referring to full disclosure of all special projects like the one in sector fourteen?" James smiled, "Of course, after all, seizing the facility in sector thirteen could tip the balance in their favor if they have the time to implement what they find." He looked at each of them. "Haven't you wondered why the New Alliance has not bothered to build more Messenger Ships like the Transcendence?" "Because without the process for creating the Perfect Crystals necessary for the operation of the new Messenger Ship, they would be useless. Very well then, I am in agreement, we don't have time for dealing with requests to gain clearance for information of this nature. If anyone objects I suggest you speak now, otherwise I will approve this immediately." James sat back down, smiling inwardly when the rest of them started to argue and bicker a bit among themselves. And in a way it was not surprising, even with a war going on, even with the prospect of being overthrown, they still had the instinct to protect their secret projects. But that same secrecy was going to hurt them if they weren't careful. An hour later, it was finally settled, though some were still clearly opposed to the change, James just made a note of which ones so he could keep an eye on their activities. Council member or not, he was not going to let one fool interfere with order being restored. Now if only the rest of the war would go smoothly, though he doubted it. At least Stevens was in charge of all fleet movement, even if he annoyed him to no end, James knew he could trust him to do what was best for the Versilan Empire and not his own interests. Is it okay to beat the crap out of your best friend's woman?

Is it okay to beat the crap out of your best friend's woman?
SunfallE replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
Well I wouldn't recommend actually beating her up but then that's usually a bad idea no matter what the issue is. I wouldn't recommend trying to be friends with her if you don't want to and I'd definitely second the notion of simply reporting her to those who are in charge and letting them handle it. I do find it odd that I can clobber another woman or a guy for being a jerk without getting the same amount of grief that a guy would over smacking a woman for being a jerk. Not that I go around clobbering people mind you. It's just that sometimes... I have no patience when it's someone who's been engaging in the same stupid behavior for a while. At that point they've earned it. Anyway... steer clear of her, don't say rude things about her behind her back and if she continues to hassle you, turn her in and let the teachers deal with it. -

I'm sorry for accusing you of an attitude problem, but I just don't see how you can't ignore the points. The fact is that one can theoretically win this game without ever acquiring a single card - it's all about protecting your own characters and make them appealing to the other players, and let them kill of each others characters instead of your own. But if what you say is true - that the point system (or rather, the cancellation effect) is really preventing you from enjoying the game - then what do you suggest? It's not too late to change the point system, or get rid of it altogether, but that would result in that the players can no longer affect the type of cards they get themselves. Are people willing to give that up for a straightforward killing spree where luck dictates who will win? I'm up to either choice.
Well I'll say it again, I'm sorry if I came across as blaming you when that's not how I feel at all. Also, I don't think we need to change it at this point, but what I will do is take a small break from it. :animesigh Honestly, I think it's just me, I really dislike racing games so I think this style just doesn't appeal all that much to me. I also think that's part of the problem since I keep trying to have fun and getting frustrated and then of course that makes me even more annoyed. So I can't win! lol Anyway, no don't change it, now that I've gotten that out of my system I do feel better. Though I really am going to just post for fun. :p My last post was enjoyable since I posted what I wanted instead of thinking about life or death points. I just posted.
-

But this is quite absurd - it's not as if you haven't gotten any cards during the course of the game. Also, the game hasn't dragged on no longer than the other Death Card games, it's just your feeling when you see that you only get one point from your post.
You've missed the point here, I'm finding the format frustrating, nothing more. Whether or not I've gotten any cards is irrelevant.
If there weren't any points to be dealt, you wouldn't be complaining about "posting in vain", really. So it's all about your attitude and how you see it, and I'm a bit offended that you're blaming me for your own feelings.
I'm irked that you're assuming that I'm blaming you here. I'm saying don't keep coming back and telling us the points don't matter when they are the very core of how this game works. It irks me that instead of trying to see if I have a valid concern you're chalking it up to an attitude problem with me.
I tried to incorporate something new to OB RPGs, and although I admit it has proven to be less pleasant for players than intended, it has managed to keep players posting because they have something to post for.
I'm not faulting your attempt to try something new, that's not the point either.
I went as far as to give everyone a free Death Card (passing it as a faux lottery), and I've thought about other twists to the system (like doubling the points given from negative actions and removing Life Points altogether) when the soul count has reached certain level, but when everybody are just complaining and whining, it doesn't really make me want to bother.
Well having you come back and lecture me about having a poor attitude just makes me want to not bother as well. I don't know how to tell you that I'm frustrated without sounding like I'm whining because criticism, no matter how nicely it's put, it is whining, you can't get around that fact, you have to complain to get change.
Just listen to yourself, Beth! This is a game meant for a fun pass-of-time, and you're making this sound like I'm deliberately stealing your time and effort - just because there are some rather insignificant points that you have chosen to hate with guts. There's nothing in the point system that prevents you to enjoy the game just like any other RPG, but only if you change your attitude about it.
Just listen to yourself Sandy! Getting mad at your players because they don't see things the same way! I'm not accusing you of anything I'm just trying to say that it is a drag. I DO find it frustrating. Does it mean the game is bad? No it means that for me it has turned out to be an experience that annoys the hell out of me. Not everyone likes this kind of game, I thought I would but that hasn't been the case. I really dislike how you think my frustrations are insignificant instead of attempting to see how they would be frustrating or annoying. Stop telling me to change my attitude if you aren't going to even attempt to see it from my view. Put yourself in your players shoes and think about it.
And now that I have vented what I have to say, it's your turn to respond. Just remember that nothing I say here doesn't change my high respect for you, it's just your attitude towards this game that irks me. Anyway, if most of the players want it, we can remove the points altogether and move to a "everybody gets a death card, souls get killed, then the survivors get another batch of death cards, rinse and repeat", but I thought that was done to death already in the previous parts. But please, if you'd rather have that system, then do say so.
Honestly, I'm not trying to be mean here, but I've wanted to quit for nearly two weeks now. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has found the whole thing frustrating. It has nothing to do with the time and effort you put into it or whether or not you were creative. You create an rpg or a game and even though it looks like fun, it's no guarantee that it actually will be. So please, stop taking it personal. It has nothing to do with you at all. I'm sure you've run into this with other games, you love part of it but another spoils the fun. Like getting an rpg and hating the battle system, the players are fun, but that annoying battle system keeps you from ever playing it again. It's the same here, I love the concept of the Gods, I like the interaction between them and the power cards, I even like the point system up to a degree. The biggest offender and I'm sure others will agree is the damn stupid cancellation effect rule, because it forces you to attempt to be 'consistent' in your style only that has turned out to be difficult to do for all of us. Yes I'm whining, but like I said before, I'm not going to pretend that I'm not frustrated. If this were an rpg game that I had bought, I would have simply taken it out of the machine, put it in it's box and stuffed it on the shelf and never played it again. But since that is not the case I'm here venting instead of simply walking away and doing nothing. :animesigh It's not absurd and that really bothers me that you would think that. I'm sorry if I sounded like I was blaming you because that's not the case. But I sure as hell am not going to plaster a fake smile on my face and say I'm having a good time when I'm not. It's criticism towards the game Sandy, not you. And it certainly is not an attitude problem, if I don't like something I don't. On some level that's unavoidable no matter what the game is. Since everyone likes different styles of playing. I just think that this style is turning out to be one that I don't like. :p

You're missed my point Sandy... That's my polite way of telling the other players that I only intend to post until my character is dead. I have completely lost interest in this game because I find the point system annoying as hell. Honestly, I am posting for the other players and that's it. Don't keep telling us or falling back on the stance of I've told you that you can ignore the point system, because to be frank that's complete and utter BS. The point system is essential for playing the game because otherwise you can't win and if the others can't gain points or finally put an end to my character, after a certain time frame I will quit. Because at that point this will just cycle endlessly and this quit being fun a long time ago, so I've no interest in that. I am sorry, but I will not pretend to be happy when I am far from it. I join RPG's to have fun and for more than half of this experience... I have not had fun at all. :animedepr That is also my way of saying to anyone else who is thinking of doing another death card rpg... I will not join one that uses the point system again. And I hate to say it, but this one is really burning me out on the concept since it's been such a drag as a result.

Well, I think Shy's idea was that if the Ragnarok can bend space, it can just as well bend time. ;D Which I concur.
Don't misunderstand me, I'm not objecting, I'm saying that it's kind of annoying since it requires reading things more carefully to keep up. Mind you, if I didn't just get handed more moderation work for the next couple of days it wouldn't matter. But getting more busy doesn't help things. lol Anyway I have posted, and for the record Sandy, I've abandoned the point system, it's too damn annoying. I intend to post for fun from now on, otherwise, I'd quit. Because I have no patience for it anymore.

Bellanna was tired, beyond tired of both Illyria and the new game by Paraxis. Enough that she was ready to simply turn her back on things and walk away. The games no longer amused her. It was always the same, like a never ending cycle of stupidity. Perhaps its time we all left, never to return. Though she suppressed the thought quickly enough. It didn't change the feelings of discontentment and disillusionment though. Naomi had tried to be mindful of the warning that Celesta had given her, but the longer she was around the others, the harder it became. And even though she felt uneasy around the Kaijin, she also felt that the others would not heed her warning even if she were to say something. Perhaps the only one who would believe her would be Jeanne. It was then that it hit her! Celesta's words... You must warn the others if you can, the Kaijin cannot be trusted, you must destroy it if you can to end the unbalance caused by it's presence, only then will Jeanne return to herself and will the Ragnarok come to it's conclusion. That was it! She needed to somehow convince Jeanne that they had to destroy the Kaijin in order for her to destroy the baby. But then once the Kaijin was dead, Jeanne would lose the desire to kill the baby. Why didn't I think of this sooner? But as she looked at the Kaijin and Jeanne who was still unconscious she wondered how she could get away. Patrick and Cho had not returned yet. I have to get her away from this monster somehow. "Perhaps it would be best if I carry Jeanne," Naomi spoke up, carefully looking at Jeanne instead directly at the Kaijin. "I can keep her unconcious and for some reason, I get the feeling that I can somehow carry her even though I am not that strong." "Such a thing would be an easy task for the daughter of Jachym." It said. "Very well, you must keep her in this state until we can decide what to do with her. So long as she is a daughter of Treisleilai I cannot harm her." Naomi took Jeanne from the Kaijin, expecting her to be heavy but instead, just as she had felt she could, somehow it was if she weighed next to nothing. I just hope this power continues to help me long enough to get away from them. Naomi finished adjusting herself so she could run and then turned back to the Kaijin. "It's been a very long time since the other two left, I'm worried about them. Perhaps you should check on them." Naomi suggested. "There is no need." The Kaijin replied. "I can easily sense that they are fine." "Please, I can't sense it and it would make me feel better if you did." Naomi kept her expression as neutral as possible. I wonder if I can even fool this thing? "Very well, I will only be a moment." Naomi just settled down as if she was going no where, but the moment the creature was out of sight she took off, running as fast as she could while holding Jeanne over her right shoulder. Door after door, room after room, until finally she could run no more and she sat down after setting Jeanne down. Then when she had caught her breath she reached over and touched Jeanne, waking her up though she didn't fully understand how she could do so. "Please," Naomi said before Jeanne could do more than look at her. "At least listen to me before you do anything, I want to help you." "I have to kill the baby." Jeanne said stubbornly. "I know! I know! But the thing is, that monster the Kaijin has been sent to protect the baby. Until you get rid of it you won't be able to. It's been tricking the rest of us into helping it." Naomi explained. "You seemed pretty determined to stop me. How can I believe that you were tricked?" Jeanne said as she finally sat up. "I brought you here didn't I?" Naomi indicated the small room they were in, empty except for a few pieces of furniture. It reminded her of a waiting room for seeing a medical doctor. Naomi sighed. "Please, I can't help you kill the baby, but I can help you kill that creature, I have to stop it. But I don't think I can do it alone, especially since those other two have been completely taken in by it." "So you've been tasked with killing that creature then." Jeanne said even as she stood up. "Just as I have been tasked to kill the baby. For the moment, it seems our task is tied together. But I have nothing to use or to help you with." Naomi took the gun out of her pocket and tossed it back to Jeanne who caught it and then looked back at Naomi in surprise. "I told you, I have to get rid of the Kaijin and I can't do that without your help." Naomi waited for her to answer, wondering if it was a mistake and yet knowing that she had to try. Jeanne tucked the gun into her outfit. "All right, for now our target is the same, we'll worry about what to do after that thing is dead. Though how are you suppose to be able to help?" "We need to find a large body of water, I don't fully understand how, but I can use that against the Kaijin." Naomi explained. "All right, then lets look for some." Jeanne started heading towards one of the doors, pausing only long enough to make sure that Naomi was following along.

Ugh... I'm breaking that group up. This is confusing me since the times don't match up as far as how long has passed for the souls. Or I'm just missing it when I read that post Shy. Beyond your initial statement that you played with it that is. And I've got too much going on at the moment to sort that out. Anyway, I'll have something up shortly since I'm working on it right now. I have no intention of really weaving how some of the characters ended up away from the Kaijin, I just intend to do it. :p

However this sets a precedent for banning protest from places like outside a court-house or legsilative building, with no better citation than "for the common welfare" or some such thing. And that is truly frightening.
They aren't being stopped from protesting altogether, they're being required to do so about 300 feet away from the funeral. Also, funerals have absolutely nothing to do with legislation or new laws or making changes in the government. It's someone who's dead being laid to rest, not some form of government proceedings where your voice has a chance of being heard since you disagree with how the government is doing something. It's like protesting against general motors since you hate their cars. Only instead of going straight to the manufacturer you've choosen to protest in someone's driveway because someone owns one of their vehicles and it's parked there. It changes nothing and makes you look like an idiot. If this group dislikes homosexuality so much they should be fighting to support legislation like the bans on gay marriage instead of telling people in the military that they are glad their son is dead. I would imagine that is why the lost the lawsuit, it's easy to see that they didn't care if they hurt the family that was simply having their son put to rest. And to make it even worse, most if not all of the funeral's for people they've protested at weren't even gay. It's them attempting to hide behind the freedom of speech to spout their hate messages without repercussions or regards to the damage to those caught in the middle.

At this point in my opinion, it's not worth the expense to invest in either one.

I also totally agree with the shoe thing. I'm in no way Chinese related or anything but I've always hated people wearing shoes indoors since I was old enough to wear shoes. It's exceptionally annoying.
It's funny here, you see, I like every single rule except this one. lol I do not take my shoes off inside. Except when I go to bed. Though that's from needing special supports for my feet and that my feet get so damn cold that it's painful to run around without shoes. XP However, if I did have a roommate who insisted on it I would be willing to get a separate set that was only worn inside. Though if even that wasn't acceptable... I'd just live elsewhere. The rest though, I'm the same way, I've had roommates who were utter pigs and I couldn't get them out soon enough. I've only had one roommate who was enough of a neat freak that she drove everyone nuts. But then she had unrealistic expectations. Like expecting me to clean the place from top to bottom right when I got back from a two week vacation. I flat out told her I wasn't cleaning up after her mess when I hadn't even been there! That and she expected me to also clean the very next day after I had surgery on my knee and I told her I wouldn't be up to it for a while. She even went so far as to place the full trash can in front of my door and I nearly tripped over the damn thing when I went to use the restroom in the middle of the night. Since I hadn't even been home 24 hours after my surgery... I took that thing and opened her door and tossed on her as she was sleeping in her bed. Needless to say within a week we weren't roommates anymore.
