Lighten up people and lets try to quit straying so far off topic. If you all really want to debate as to whether or not an apology for past tragedies is warranted then start a thread for that. Thanks. As for the topic Presidential Race... I'm a bit disappointed in most if not all of the candidates. There isn't one that I feel strongly about voting for. I like Giuliani but I dislike Republicans and have no desire to put more of them in power. I'm not clearly with any party, even though I tend to vote more Democratic than other parties. But the problem with that is I don't really like Hillary either. :animesigh This is the first time that so far, unless something happens to change my views of the current hopefuls, I have no interest in voting.

Other people's pets. One of my neighbors dog's decided to pretty much bark off and on all night last night. It was annoying since usually the stupid dog doesn't do that. lol Cat's fighting do it too since we'll also have a week where they fight all the time and naturally they like to pick the part of the yard that's right next to the window of my bedroom.
Weren't you gay? Last I checked, all machines are female by tradition, which means you are a bit jealous because they don't and probably won't make male robots.
Wow, talk about ignorance from someone who thinks robots are possible. XP It's been awhile but I've read most if not all of Issac Asimov's books and as Allamorph stated the robots are mostly male. :animesigh Also, lets keep the stupid assumptions about my sexual orientation or preferences out of this. And jealous? You haven't listened to a word I've said. I like real relationships because that's what I currently enjoy. Being with a real human being. There's nothing to be jealous of.
Read Asimov. Most of his robots are male. Also male is the co-protagonist of Runaway Robot, as well as V-ger and Data from the StarTrek universe. And unless I am mistaken, the default Mac voice is male. What you are referring to is the male tendency to refer to genderless possessions (cars, boats, computers, etc.) as female. To everybody else: why are you guys so head-up about arguin' with a devil's advocate? Let 'em run with his bad self; it'll be okay if his arguments don't make logical sense. This is science fiction, after all. :p
Yeah I know Allamorph, there's another word for what I'm arguing with, but I'm not going to say it.

There is something wrong with stating in advance that you would prefer your own kind. It's a statement out of ignorance. Instead you should just say, well i don't know how i'd feel, i've never experienced a relationship or anything of the sort with a robot. Or you could say that you would think you wouldn't prefer it. I know this is very nitpicky, oh well.
No. :animesigh It's a statement based on the fact that we don't have enough information to say one way or the other. Just as there is no 'should' as for how one would react to an idea like this. I don't know about the others, but my first thought is to cringe over the idea. Robots are not real people, is it really so hard to grasp that one would prefer to connect with their own kind? Or that they are not interested in considering the alternative that in my mind is no alternative at all? Even if it were real I know that I am not interested in it. Maybe it's because living without sex isn't the end of the world. Not having a close relationship isn't the end of the world. So unless it's with something that isn't 'fake' I'd rather do without. You guys are making me wonder as to why you want to defend it so. There's no need to be nitpicky. You think people should give it a try and I'll say I've no interest. I'm not going to lie and say I don't know how I'd feel because just thinking about it is enough to turn me off to the idea. If I had a robot that complex I wouldn't be using it for sex or companionship, I'd want it programmed to do useful things like clean the house or maintain the yards. Because that's the context in which I see robots. Not for other things.

Just a quick update since A_M and Aaryanna will both be gone for a few days since both of them are sick. They wanted me to let all of you know since A_M won't be around to post to get things started in sector thirteen until she's feeling a little better. It shouldn't be more than a few days though. ^_~

Seriously, real relationships are where it's at. Not attempting to have one with something that is artificially made. And in this case, it would be nothing more than an expensive sex toy. And even if we ever did reach that point, I'd rather be with someone who is real like I am.
Agreed. Why even attempt to make or settle for something artificial when real people exist? And by real I don't mean random hook-ups like Retri suggested, I mean real relationships since the question of marriage was brought up. I have no interest in the idea of Robot Sex or marriage since I agree with John, for sex they would be toys, for marriage they would be mere delusions. And I'm more interested in the real deal, not something that will not be real like another human being is.

Don't ever confuse "right" with "desire".
Honestly, this covers the entire debate right here. Just as I agree with the stance of hey, I know it's wrong and yet I still do it. Not that what one is doing is right, but rather like A_M was saying, there's no stupid justification going along with it. In the end, over the years, and by years I do literally mean more than a decade, I've probably downloaded about a total of ten songs. Mainly because they were something that's hard to find. Even with searching places like E-bay for a used copy. Some of them I still hunt for a legit used copy since I like having my own copy. The rest of the time I'll listen to stuff at say youtube or I'll hear it on the radio or in a movie and if I really like it... I simply buy it. In fact I just recently got introduced to a new band that Rach learned about from Jakehammaren. Upon listening to it at youtube I've decided to purchase it and I ordered it yesterday no less. I'll still listen to it on youtube while I wait for it to arrive though. XP But in the end, I'd much rather get a professional copy. I do think the idea that you can't make a copy for your own personal use is just stupid and greedy on the company's part. I just can't see it any other way. I like making mix cd's with my favorite songs to use in my player in my car when I travel and I did the same when I was driving a semi. It's not a safety issue now, but when I was driving a semi? The last thing I needed to be doing is messing with switching disks around just for a single song. Putting things together in a single disk was far more convenient and accessible for me. And I'd argue that to anyone who would attempt to tell me it's illegal when every song on those disks came from legal copies that I paid for myself. Especially since that's part of the training to drive an 18 wheeler, setting things up in the best possible manner to avoid things that could cause a wreck. Anyway, it's obvious that the system needs some changes but I really don't see how making downloading without paying the artist would make it better. Perhaps in the immediate sense of people getting things for free, but in the end, the artists and the music companies are not obligated to entertain us for free. They do have a right to make a living too. XP

All right, everyone who needs a new objective has been given one. Some of you I did not send a pm since you are either currently finishing up one or have already gotten your new one. I do want to make note of one important detail for the upcoming bit in sector thirteen. Since Earth was taken over in the last installment, everyone other than people living in Australia, the United Kingdom and the USA were shipped off world to different sectors to be put to work. The rest of the world is currently being terraformed depending on the area. Some for farming, some for building facilities for manufacturing of Versilan goods, etc. So in that respect you are welcome to pretty much describe what was done to each area however you wish. The main countries of course are also being changed, but not quite as drastically as the rest of the world is. Oh and this time it will be GuyYouMetOnline who will be getting things going since his character will be contacting the fleet at the border of sector thirteen and fourteen. If anyone has any questions, or suggestions then just let me know. :catgirl:

Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
SunfallE replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Theater
I haven't lost interest, but I assumed that DB had and wasn't planning on continuing this. Which sucked since I wanted to find out what that scythe thingummy was. :p Seriously though, so long as Rach wants to continue I say we finish up the deal with the Count and then go in whatever direction you want to DB. Celestia had not been the one to issue the order that during times of conflict like the upcoming battle, she along with Jason were to be kept in their quarters until it was over with. It hadn't stopped Kenath from being surprised by Doctor Crystal's reminder shortly before they were due to arrive in sector seven though. She had not missed his look of irritation which was swiftly followed by acceptance after Crystal had shown him something on her hand held computer. But the look he had shot in her and Jason's direction was unmistakable, and she wondered just how that would affect further dealings with him. So far, everyone she had dealt with had objected to what they considered special treatment that no slave deserved. It never seemed to cross their minds that she was not the one to make those decisions. When they had been at the Council Center, her pacifist and non-violent views had not been well received and had often lead to harassment, including an actual fight between Jason and the researchers there after they had insulted her. Still she couldn't change how she felt and even if she could she would not. Celestia would not accept that killing someone else was necessary or even required. Just as she would not accept others attempts to make her see the error of her ways as they would put it. She was not so naive to believe that she would never harm someone if it was necessary for her own defense, but she still would do everything in her power to avoid it. A tremor ran through the floor of their quarters and Celestia looked up from her position of sitting on the sofa in the middle of the main room towards Jason who was returning from another part of their living area. She didn't need to say anything to know that he had felt it as well. It was obvious from the look he sent her way. Just as it was an obvious indication that the battle was in earnest since she knew perfectly well that it would take quite a bit of force to cause a tremor like that in a ship as big as the Creator. Jason didn't say a word as he came over and sat down next Celestia and then held her close when she moved over. He knew how much violence of any kind pained her. He didn't share her non-violent views, but at the same time he would have preferred that there was no fighting. And though they would learn later just how many had died, he was at least happy that Crystal had made sure they didn't have to be present while it was actually happening. The last thing Jason wanted was to see Celestia collapse again. ********************* It had almost been a waste to even bother with sending a stronger force to the facility where the plants were processed and to the facility where the ship parts were made. If Stevens had known that the New Alliance had moved most of the resources to the main world he would have not bothered with sending the Conqueror to assist with retaking the other worlds in sector seven. He would have instead gone directly to the main world along with the Creator. Stevens took note of several Battle Ships as they were destroyed in close proximity to the Creator, close enough that he was positive that it would have been felt through the entire ship. Though a quick look at the battle data showed that the damage to the flag ship was superficial and would be easy to repair. "What's your status Jared?" Stevens looked over to the holographic projection of Jared on the Creator. "Other than a few facilities we're pretty much finished here. Unless they are hiding additional troops behind distortion shields, there's nothing left to deal with." Jared informed him. "Sandra?" Stevens asked, turning his attention to her. "The troop transports led by Sub-Commander Drace have just landed on the surface, once they disable the generators for the distortion shields we'll transport down the remaining troops." She looked up from what she was doing to look directly at Stevens. "Unless you have need of the manpower, I suggest you send two of your transports over, I'm sure I won't need them, but if I do, it would be better to have them on hand." "I'll send them over at once then, since I have no need of them." Stevens turned away briefly to issue the order before turning back. "All that leaves to be done is retaking the main world and the three representatives," Stevens smiled. "Such an easy victory will only make putting our next move in motion that much easier." He looked back at the display in the observation room of the Conqueror, noting how the battle in space was pretty much over. Of the fifteen ships that had been in the sector ten had been destroyed and the remaining five were in the process of being seized after surrendering to Sandra. Regaining five Battle Ships was a good thing, though it was a pity that they had lost three during the fight. Still Stevens was pleased, without the Creator the loss would have been a lot higher. Since most Battle Ships simply didn't have the ability to fight off the more powerful ship. Even if they had lost one to the New Alliance, it would make no difference. Especially once he put some of his other plans into motion. It was only a matter of time until order would be restored, a thought that just made him smile.

The best example I could give, and I know it's not anime, is the re-make of Battlestar Galactica. I do not like it at all and think they took a show and essentially trashed it in the name of being melodramatic and soap opera-ish, just to get fans and ratings. Still, I don't hate it. Because doing so is a waste of my time really.
Interesting that you should mention that, since it is one of the few shows I truly despise. I remember seeing the original when it first aired on TV, so naturally I was hyped about seeing the remake... That is until I actually saw it. I felt like they took one of my favorite shows as a kid and literally killed it. I finally had to quit watching it because of how much I hated what they did to it. That idiotic female Starbuck being one of the main offenders. I despise her in that role. XP Now getting back on topic... I haven't really run into an anime that I actually hate or many other shows for that matter either. For the same reason you mentioned. If I don't like it, I just quit watching it. And seeing how much I loathed watching more of Battlestar Galactica, it's probably just as well. I'd probably end up wasting my time disliking a show that I'll never watch again anyway. lol Right now other than some anime that I don't care for, I don't have any that I hate. But I do dislike InuYasha and Naruto, because I got tired of the show going on and on and having endless filler type episodes. So I just quit watching them. *shrug* But then just about any show that starts creeping towards the 100+ mark usually loses my interest. I just get tired of the show even if I like it. Even Detective Conan, and I like that show, but hell! It's got way to many episodes and movies! I'll be dead before they ever get around to releasing those over here in the US, if at all. And that... Is annoying. XP

I am not a big fan of country, but every now and then there's a song that I like. So right now I'm listening to I Wanna Talk About Me by Toby Keith. Half of what makes me like this song is the music video to it. It's freaking hilarious! Especially since I have a friend that blabs non-stop given the chance so I can really relate to this song. XP

Well snow that actually fell in the valley that is. :animesigh Anyway, great work everyone. I've enjoyed all the posts people have done. And I hope you'll like the next move for the Resistance aka the New Alliance. It will be far more involved than sector fourteen was. ^_~ Should be fun!

"You were always overconfident and it seems that has not changed." She smiled beautifully, "Be careful that you don't drown in those deep waters you speak of." "Is this posturing really necessary?" Illyria spoke up. Cutting Jachym off before he could utter a word. "Of course not Illyria, it is but a means to pass the time." Bellanna said sweetly. "It's not like there's anything else to do until this game is finished." "I want to go back home." Kirima couldn't help but cry. "I'm worried about Cho and Ian and Charlotte too. What if there are more bad people out there? What if they..." Patrick kneeled in front of her and gently put his hand up to her mouth to hush her. "We'll try to find them okay?" He moved his hand away when she nodded and then he pulled her into a gentle hug. "I'll do everything I can to help you so lets get going." "All right," Kirima said even as she reached up to take Patrick's hand before they continued down the mountain. "I don't understand though. For a while there I thought we had died and gone to heaven, but there wouldn't be bad people in heaven, so I don't know where we are." "Neither do I Kirima. I have no idea where we are." Patrick continued down the trail, promising to himself that he would do all he could to watch out for Kirima. "Oh Patrick! Look!" Kirima tugged at his hand, pointing to the right. It was a sight that baffled Patrick, islands floating in the sky no less! "How is that even possible!" For a brief moment he felt dizzy as the idea tried to wrap itself around his limited understanding and failed. He sat down, taking deep breaths to calm himself as he felt faint, much like he did when he had been sick in the past. "What's wrong Patrick?" Kirima asked confused. "Have you never heard of Gods before? Even if we aren't in heaven we must be in one of the lands that belongs to the Gods!" Patrick looked up, "Lands of the Gods?" "Sure! There are lots of different Gods!" Kirima said excitedly. "I was learning about them in the temple." She bit her lower lip and then shrugged. "I don't know what this one is though. I hadn't learned about all the different Gods yet." She pulled on his sleeve. "Don't worry! If we find another temple it might have more writings that will tell us where we are!" Kirima kept pulling until Patrick finally stood back up. "Lets get going! That looks like it might be a small shrine." She pointed to a small elegant structure, though Patrick had no idea what it was. Excited over the possibility of figuring out what was going on Kirima eagerly pulled Patrick along at a quick pace down the mountain side, pausing only briefly to drink some of the cool water of a river and to grab some fruit off of a tree that appeared to be an apple. Patrick couldn't help but smile as she skipped and hummed to herself a bit. Though he had no sisters, she reminded him of his younger brother, he too was always bright and cheerful like that. Always managing to find a reason to be happy in spite of the poor living conditions and lack of decent food. I wonder how they are doing? When they finally approached the building, he didn't know what to think but Kirima immediately approached it and gave no notice to how part of the strange wall merely vanished when she got closer. "Come on Patrick! Lets go inside!" She pulled him along and then let go of his hand to walk around and examine the smooth strangely white and yet not white walls. "Are you sure this is safe?" Patrick asked her. "I don't know, but I bet the light in the center is connected to the Gods somehow." She grabbed his hand again. "Lets find out!" And before Patrick could think to ask her questions she walked into the light, pulling him along too. Patrick was briefly blinded by the light and then he found himself standing in a place that was even more beyond his understanding. Smooth walls of what seemed to be some type of metal and lights that could only be magic illuminated the strange square room. He looked down at Kirima who was still clutching his hand. "Wow!" She looked around in awe. "We should look for more writings!" And with that she was off once again, pulling Patrick along with her.

Whats Your Favorite Type of Liquor/Alcoholic Beverage?
SunfallE replied to Shwa's topic in General Discussion
Actually... I don't drink. XP But I do like having a Strawberry Daiquiri without the Alcohol. Or Lime or Pineapple, though I like Strawberry the best. They're just really good with dinner and I like the overly sweet taste better than having a desert. I've had other stuff offered to me and I've tried a few things, but I didn't like it. -
Music playing in the background or the TV being on. That sort of thing always keeps me awake. And since I have the basement bedroom in the house and everyone else gets up before me, all the noise they make wakes me up as well. So I usually end up using earplugs so that little bit of noise doesn't wake me up. Oddly enough, when I was on the road working as a truck driver, I managed to get use to how noisy the truck is when operating. So I can sleep through that and yet not through a simple song on the radio or player. XP Also, if I have the option, I prefer my room to be completely dark. I just sleep better if it is. Sunlight coming through the curtains, especially if it hits my face will wake me up too.

Everyone had finally gathered at the entrance to the lift that would take them to the Command Center for the space station, their faces grim over the recent discoveries. First that of the people who had died mysteriously from hypothermia, a mystery that with their own internal body temperatures dropping, was all to real and dangerous. And the second, the knowledge that even if they left the space station and tried to leave, without being able to enter hyper space they could potentially run out of supplies before they could get to an inhabited planet. "All right people," Colonel DeSouza said. "The lift is not working and according to Dr. Travis the readout is indicating that there is insufficient power. With the discovery by Dr. Sanderson that our bodies are being adversely affected we don't have a lot of time. I intend for us to use the emergency ladder in the lift to get to the Command Center to see what we can find out. Once there we will either attempt to fix the problem or transport back to the Argo Navis and move to a safer distance." He looked to each of them before giving the three officers the go ahead to open the lift doors, something that with the manual override only took a matter of seconds. Then when the doors were open he along with Schovick took the lead with the civilians in the middle followed up by James and then Vayne. "You've got to be kidding me!" Nakeisha objected as she started up the metal ladder in the lift shaft when it was her turn. "This is absurd! Having to climb up as if we were in the stone age. Some pilot you have if he can't even manage to obtain a lock on the Command Center so we can simply transport there directly." "If that were possible Dr. Rhodes, we would have done so from the very beginning." DeSouza reminded her. "Well if Miss Erickson hadn't been so keen on making sure I came with you, I could have been back on the Argo Navis working on improving the transport system. My talents are wasted here Colonel." Nakeisha pointed out. DeSouza just rolled his eyes a bit and continued climbing without answering her. The team was about two thirds of the way up to the Command Center when suddenly a sound from deep below could be heard. "Oh this is just great. It's the lift car and It's coming up after all." Nakeisha growled. "All right everyone, move to the inside of the ladder!" Schovick called out, even as she herself moved so she was between the metal ladder and the wall it was attached to. It was a safety feature should anyone be caught in the lift when the car was operating, giving them enough space to easily be out of harm's way. Everyone watched as the car came up slowly and then passed them on it's way up. Then as if to taunt them it halted just before the doors leading to the Command Center, enough to block their path completely. "Well that's a problem," DeSouza muttered under his breath. "All right head back down to the first set of doors. We'll force our way in there and then look for another path to the Command Center." "I thought you said you could read the language Dr. Travis." Nakeisha muttered to him. "Obviously you were wrong about the lift not having enough power to move!" "I'm sorry." Michael replied. "That is what it said. So I don't know why it's moving now when it wouldn't before." "Move it along people!" Schovick called down. "You can save the talk for when we get out of the lift shaft!" With a mummer of agreement the group moved out from being between the ladder and the wall, easily switching around to the front to start climbing back down to the closest set of doors.
Dear me, but I do believe the ones who are really gettin' some are dead silent about it, while people who brag freely about it like DB and Revolver only wish they could do what they are claiming. As far as I am concerned, do as you see fit as long as you aren't hurting anyone else. To anyone religious though, it is definitely a sin no matter how you look at it. But I find that most people don't follow the religions anyway (I sure don't, despite being heavily influenced by Roman Catholic I now actually follow a mix of ideas)
Or they are grown up enough that they don't feel a need to brag about aspects of their personal lives. ^_~ Please don't make such a broad assumption about other people, it's really not that nice. That's an assumption not a fact since you don't know why people say nothing or why they do either. Also Prem... Simmer down a bit please. Just as you want God and hell to be left out, others find that aspect of their lives extremely important, and it is his opinion after all. So he's entitled to it. Lets not derail a thread that has made me cringe and laugh so many times! I'd hate to lock it down over silly arguments. ^_~

Meh, what an annoying test. For the most part it she seems to be moving clockwise but then it's got these annoying jerks where it seems like she's going counter clockwise. And occasionally it's almost like it's both at the same time. XP Overall, I'd say it was just plain weird. lol

well theres this at my school we sit next to each other in english. and we talk together etc but i nocticed when we're not talkin she giv me these looks like:animeblus or ;) what should i do should i take the quik route and ask her or wait longer?like till high school? ps thats the only class i hav with her
If you've known her for a bit talk to her, otherwise, wait a while and learn more about her first. You wouldn't want to scare her away by being too forward. ^_~
Man, you're in dual denial. First you claim that girls lust after nerdy boys, but they are just too blind to see it. In the words of the Great DB: WRONG! Girls - especially the better-looking ones (or the ones who think they look better when they dress up like hoes) - usually have this distaste towards anything that's smelly, sweaty, pimply and dresses like a clown (ie nerdy guys). Secondly, you say that sex is the last thing guys should have in mind when they're searching for a partner. Again, WRONG! Sex is the very first motive of countless straight guys to do pretty much anything with a girl - even if they know they can't have it immediately, it's always patting the path for the future. This might sound degrading, but that's just how it is for us guys. Emotional bond with the partner comes later than the thought "I want to have sex with that person", but when it does come, it can every bit as strong as women have. ;D Few exceptions don't make a rule. ;P
I agree with Sandy here. Looks, are important. Especially when hygiene is involved. Nothing turns a girl off quicker than that. Sure some nerds/geeks or whatever you want to call it are clean, but on the flip side, most if not all that I've known, hadn't figured out what deodorant was yet. XP Mind you I'm talking about the more obsessive type here instead of the more mild version that a lot of people fall into. I'm talking about the hard core ones. Also, whether or not people want to admit it, on some level physical attraction [including sex] is a big factor as well. Do you talk to all the girls at your school or work? With the intention of really getting to know them better? If they aren't physically attractive, most of the time the answer is no. You'll be polite perhaps, but that's about it. But the truth is, that physical appearance is what first resulted in you noticing them at all. It's the same for women Sandy, on some level, that initial attraction is a big factor in who we actually make an effort to get to know better. Honestly, friends and boyfriends. Most if not all of them got my attention due to how they looked and then that got sorted into friends vs boyfriend material based on their personality. And though some of them were geeks or nerds, that aspect of them was not what led to us either being friends or dating. lol Also to be clear, I'm not horribly picky, but I'm not going to deny that how someone looks doesn't matter or even occur to me. It's not the deciding factor, but it is definitely one of them.

Celestia had heard about what was going to happen within the next day or two. The others who were working in the computer lab spent most if not all of their spare time talking about the impending battle in sector seven. But probably what bothered her the most was how much some of them were looking forward to those who had broken off being dealt with. It was, to be frank, sickening. Making it hard for her to concentrate on the assignment that her and Jason were suppose to be working on. As a result, most if not all of the work was being done by Jason at the moment. Something that Kenath had noticed and commented on already, clearly displeased with her. Reminding Celestia that she was leaving him no choice but to notify Sub-Commander Drace if she did not do what was expected. Though that just made things worse, just thinking about having to deal with Drace again was enough to make her sick. Especially since the others working in the computer lab were making bets as to how many traitors he would slaughter in the upcoming battle. Celestia was startled from her musings by a poke in the side from Jason. "Stop that Celestia. You're just going to make yourself sick again." Jason cautioned her. "I know it's wrong and I know that it's sick but please, don't listen to it. Or at the very least try to ignore it." "I'm sorry Jason," she said contritely, turning back to work on her part, only it seemed that Jason had already finished. How? "I've been busy while you've been fretting," He smiled kindly at her. "I used a type of modified find and replace function to hunt through the previous program to pick up the part of the code that would work just fine in making a new one. It seemed kind of pointless to totally start from scratch when it wasn't necessary." "How long...?" "Most of the past week silly." Jason poked her again. "You've been out of sorts ever since..." Jason's face darkened briefly. "Our unexpected visitors dropped in." He tried to keep the bitterness out of his voice though it wasn't easy. "I'm sorry Jason. I'll do better from now on." Celestia hadn't meant to be so out of it, but it had been hard to get it out of her mind, and all the talk about the battle that was due to happen didn't help. "Make sure that you do." Kenath advised as he approached them. "While you've been busy worrying over things that do not concern a mere slave, your... what do you Earthlings call it again?" "I would be called her husband sir." Jason answered quietly. "Yes that's the word, such fuss to give names to something as simple as having your status tied to one another." Kenath sighed every so slightly. "As I was saying, while you've been busy neglecting your duties, your husband" Kenath indicated Jason. "Has been picking up the slack. Though I was under the impression that it was you Celestia who was the one who had the expertise. And that only the absurd new law allowing families to stay together among the slaves kept the two of you together." He gave both of them a measuring glance. "I was told that Jason lacked the necessary skills to really be of any use. Care to explain that? Since I will be required to include it in my weekly report for Sub-Commander Drace?" "I'm sorry sir," Celestia fought to keep her voice calm when she wanted nothing more than to tell all of them to go to hell. "I'll work harder. Jason has always been good at what he does sir, it's true that most of the work is done by me, but that doesn't mean he isn't good in his own right." Kenath laughed a bit, "After looking over the core program that he put together by using bits of the previous one I won't argue that. Still, it is clear that you are the one who understands our technology better. So I expect you to start pulling your weight. For now I'll simply include what's going on in the current report for the Sub-Commander, but if this trend of you slacking off continues Celestia," He gave both of them a stern glance. "I'll have no choice but to recommend both of you for disciplinary measures." "Thank you for telling me sir. I'll make sure no recommendation will be necessary." Celestia hated to say it, clenching her hands in her lap as she did so. Attempting to argue or even justify that she shouldn't have to work for them was pointless. But oh how she wanted to. "See that you do." Kenath said before heading back to his own station overlooking the computer lab. "Like I have a choice," Celestia said bitterly in a quiet voice once Kenath was out of hearing range. "Celestia," Jason cautioned her. "I know Jason. I know. I'll save it for when we're back in our quarters, though why they even call them our rooms is a mystery, since we have no control over that either. They can come in there whenever they want regardless of how we feel about it." She turned back to her workstation and pulled up what Jason had done in the past week. With the core program re-written, now it was just a matter of putting the rest back together to make it more secure, to essentially fix it so it couldn't be hacked into. At least not for now. And she didn't dare leave any holes in the program. Unless she wanted Jason to suffer as well, she had to make sure it was as tightly put together as possible. It pained her to be making their systems better since doing so would make it that much harder for the New Alliance. With a sigh she started working on the new update program.
