The website even has lots of tutorials to help you get use to using the program. Another one is Adobe Photoshop though depending on which one you get, it can be quite expensive. Just go to Adobe's website to check out what they have to offer.
  2. Just so you know Sandy... I'm not quitting, but I am recovering from catching a nasty bug. Until the medicine the doctor gave me really has a chance to work... I'm afraid I'm just staring at the screen and going blank as far as ideas go. :animesigh Just thought you'd like to know since I probably won't post for at least another day or two. All I want to do is sleep, I'm just tired all the time since I started feeling bad on Friday. >_
  3.
Is the treasure hunting aspect present in PH?
I'm curious about that too. I certainly hope so. I loved collecting all the maps and finding all the treasure. I even loved pulling up money just by virtue of being over the glowing circles in the water at night. I spent hours and hours doing that kind of stuff in The Wind Waker since it was so much fun. :catgirl:
  4.
I guess I'm just used to going to a great school, then.
Or just simply lucky to have teachers who do enjoy knowing their students more. I've had both, teachers who though good at their job, had no desire or interest to know you more as well as ones who did. And to be fair, I wasn't interested in knowing most of them either. Also, all this talk from people about watching behavior being a clue that teachers should be picking up on just isn't true or even accurate. Or even very realistic to expect. There's nothing wrong with wanting teachers who will be more involved, but it's silly to expect or even demand it of them. Especially since I've had plenty of times where other than to get my homework and leave I never said a word. So knowing if they are quiet or not is really useless since that's no indication of how a student is going to behave. If we really want that kind of attention to be given to students, then we need to step up and make sure there are more teachers around, pay them better as well as offering training on what to look for when it comes to troublesome behavior. Instead of blindly expecting it and attempting to pin blame when they don't guess someone's intent correctly. Personally, I think violence isn't necessarily getting worse. What's getting worse is all the silly media dramatizing it left and right. As well as the constant attempts to pin the blame elsewhere. Anyway, There's always been some form of violence going on, and about the only thing I see different is that perhaps the type of violence has shifted. Or the undeniable fact that since our population keeps growing it appears that there is more violence when it's entirely possible that looking at the hard numbers, the percentage of actual violence could be the same or less. It may look like more but if we are having an issue of say five percent of the students getting into fights. Naturally it's going to look like an increase if in the past five years you've gone from say five hundred students to just over a thousand.

  7.
Just a heads up. I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow, and won't be back until Monday. I won't have any internet access, so I'll be absent for the next few days. That and i'll throw in some bits of string. *ties up Crystia and pulls her behind him*
Sorry Gavin... >_> But seeing Crystia get tied up and dragged off is too good to pass up. lol So congratulations BKstyles! You win! *wanders off to look for other things to sell*
  9. Celestia could see that working on the fleet's update system was going to take a while. The more she looked at the program the more she understood why it had been so easy to hack into before. It was to be frank, not very well written. Compared to the more complex programs for the hyper drive systems as well as other aspects of Versilan technology it was rather sloppy and she was surprised that it had even been put into use. With their shift for the day nearly over, Celestia motioned for Jason to take a look. "This is going to take a while," She indicated the basic program. "Whoever built this simply built upon previous versions instead of creating a better base program to begin with. It's so poorly written that I'm surprised they even use it. I wonder what fool wrote this program?" "That fool would be myself," A cold voice said from behind them. Celestia winced as she turned to see Kenath standing there, his arms folded across his chest looking less than amused. Oh hell! Celestia thought even as she unconsciously attempted to move away. "You can stop that." Kenath snapped. "If you have a valid point I'll over look the disrespectful manner in which you just indirectly addressed me. Though I'll expect you to refrain from speaking so foolishly in the future." "Yes sir, I'm sorry sir." Celestia stammered uncomfortably. "Well out with it!" Kenath demanded when Celestia said nothing else. "Explain to me why I'm supposedly a fool." "It's not that you're a fool sir, but rather that instead of building a new core program, you kept building on top of the already existing one. Using patches to fix any security issues when rewriting it from the ground up would have eliminated the need for the patches as well as gotten rid of the holes in the first place." She turned and began to point out just what she meant as she pulled up various bits of the code for the program. Explaining how the program she and Jason had used to hack in had used that weakness to get around the security. "Very well then," Kenath finally spoke up. "Write a new core program to replace the existing one. Instead of fixing the holes that exist now, starting tomorrow you'll start from scratch, understood?" Celestia and Jason both nodded, eager to avoid getting in trouble for what had just happened. Even if it was a simple statement, they had already learned the hard way that as a slave, disrespect could result in harsh discipline. Something neither one of them wanted to experience yet again. "Good, you're both dismissed for the day." Kenath said before turning to head back to his station. "One other thing, I meant what I said before, speak in that manner again and you both will be dealt with." Celestia just watched until he had finally sat back down at his station before turning to switch the workstation off. I have got to learn to keep my mouth shut. She thought as she watched Jason get ready to leave as well. They'll discipline him for my behavior as well. But still, it was hard. Keeping the resentment she had over being treated like property in check. Celestia pushed the thoughts away as best she could, fretting over it would change nothing, and speaking out only made it worse. "Hey!" Jason whispered to her as they walked out the doors to the main computer lab. "Lighten up Celestia, at least we aren't being escorted left and right." He looked around at the other personnel running around on the ship. "True," Celestia replied dully. That had been explained to them earlier. Depending on where they needed to go, a security detail would only escort them once. They were expected to remember where they needed to go on their own after that. And with the checkpoints throughout the ship they couldn't leave their designated area anyway. Even if it was for sickbay, they would still be required to speak to Kenath and request an escort. Both of them were dressed in the standard plain gray clothing that indicated they were slaves. There were others like them, but most of them other than to meet their eyes briefly, merely looked down and continued on their way. Celestia didn't even know if they were human or from another planet that had been enslaved. Celestia smiled up at Jason as they walked through the corridors to head for where their quarters were. At least they were still allowed to stay together, she didn't know how she could stand being stuck as she was without Jason by her side. "I don't know about you Celestia, but I think it will be nice to have to walk back and fourth between our quarters and work each day." He smiled back at her before turning to pay attention to where they were going. Celestia just smiled sadly. Sure the walk would be nice, if only for the illusion of freedom it offered, but still, in the end it was nothing more than an illusion. She wanted true freedom. And then since she did not want to attract attention, she simply stuck close to Jason and walked silently down the corridor. Jason was always more optimistic than she was. Sure it might be nice, but it also left them open or rather at the mercy of any of the crew walking by and the last thing she wanted was to draw unnecessary attention to the both of them. The sooner they got to their quarters, the better.
  10.
Does this mean I can't buy myself back for the buy it now price of $10 Beth? If not... Then that's a problem. Me being able to actually out bid that price, especially since I just put in an order for a new custom build computer so I'm 100% broke at the moment. I wouldn't even have the $10 except for what I got from you paying the buy it back price for Rach Beth. lol
I don't know how e-bay works since I've never run across an item where the bid was higher than the buy it now price. But for my offering, once it goes over and BKstyles bid is definitely over... At that point the buy it now price is considered unavailable. So no deal! :p Unless BKstyles comes back with a better bid, I'll be handing you over to Gavin.
ZOMG SunfallE, big again! The Ragnarok

Things were starting to move swiftly, the game that had seemed so slow, so tranquil had erupted in senseless violence. But there was no stopping it now and as Celesta and Illyria bickered among themselves Bellanna turned her attention to the pool, carefully watching the souls that remained. Tuning out the others who were also watching not only the pool but the other gods for any signs of weakness now that some of the mortal souls were dead. Cho Hee heard the crashing in the trees, and then the horrible screams of what had to be Reiko, but before she could move to go and look for her, movement caught her vision as two figures emerged from the trees. One an aged black man, the other an older woman who to her horror she realized was afflicted by flesh that was rotting. Frightened Cho Hee just stood there, uncertain as to what to do. ?You?d best be moving miss, some creature got a hold of a youngling back there. It?s likely to look for more once it?s done.? He said in his gruff voice. Reiko? It?s my fault, if I had not used this power she would not be dead. But then she stopped as she realized that the power the woman had given her, for the moment had subsided. How did this happen? Was it because one was a man and the other a woman who in her current state was anything but attractive? ?There?s a city if you follow this road.? Cho Hee explained. And then she turned and began to walk back there herself. There was nowhere to go and with out Reiko, she couldn?t go alone. Even the company of the older man and woman was preferable to being all alone. I?m so pathetic. She thought. The others kept pace with Cho, even though she was too tired to walk very fast, the man was named Joe, the woman Marta, though as she looked at her and the way her flesh was rotting, she wondered if she was even human. It was close to midday when they finally reached the city, still just as abandoned or rather appearing to be abandoned as before. Cho was sure that the group she had first met was probably still there. Not that she cared. Cho had no interest in men or little children. Even loneliness was preferable to the company of horrid little children. It had sickened her the way Kirima had clung to her in the brief time she had been with her. Cho was wondering what to do when the other two immediately went into one of the buildings to find a place to rest, blindly she followed them, not caring where she was at the moment. Not even caring enough to wonder why the city was abandoned or to answer the others questions. Instead as she sat there in the main room of one of the buildings, drinking some water that she had gotten from the kitchen, Cho wondered what was going to happen next. Though Marta was glad to finally be back in a city instead of the strange forest she had found herself in, it troubled her that the place was empty. If no one was here, then how was she ever going to find her way back home? And what the pale boy with no eyes had done to her? She looked at her body, shuddering in revulsion at how her flesh was rotting. If I am to be in this state, I?d rather be dead. And yet somehow, she knew that even if she tried to kill herself, it would not work. Or would it? She was sorely tempted to find the tallest building and toss herself from it. After what she had done? She did not deserve to live. What have I gotten myself into? Joe wondered. Though the woman Marta seemed reasonable enough he could sense that she housed a dark secret, beyond whatever had caused her flesh to start rotting. Joe had thought that he had lived a good life, but the longer he was in this strange place, the more he began to wonder if he was in hell. All the times he had been thoughtless, or been unkind was running through his mind. Making him wonder if he had brought it upon himself, being brought to this place, for he could think of other way to have gotten here except by the power of God.
  12. Well the stores where I live were pretty much sold out, I didn't seen it anywhere so I ordered this along with the WiFi adapter so I can finally get online and visit other people's towns in Animal Crossing. Unfortunately, it has not shipped just yet, but I only just put the order in when the stores didn't get anymore in like the said they would. I can't wait until it arrives so I can play it! It looks like a lot of fun and like Rach... I love the cell-shading graphics. :catgirl: At least I won't need a DS in order to be able to play it. Hehe.
  13. o_O Crystia... You have officially outdone yourself compared to the Maze, as well as creeping me out completely. Man... That was sick! >_< At this rate I'm going to end up dead, first Aaryanna gets seven in one post, and then Crystia kills with her first death card and gets seven points again in the very same post? XP Yup I am so dead. lol Especially since I just got really busy over at theOtaku recently so I have more moderation work at the moment. Still... I refuse to give up! >_> As soon as I manage to get the idea I have running in my mind going. After all, I have one pathetic death point to call my own. I only need six more! *dies*
  14.
So that means I need to put something else up yes? Hmm... I suppose since BKstyles already picked on SunfallE how about I pick on the other moderator of OL? So with that in mind I place Rachmaninoff up for sale. Why would you want him? If you love classical music, having your own musician would certainly be fun. Unless you don't like the Cello. lol And yes he really is good at playing since music is his career, at least it better be after all the money he wasted on buying a more expensive instrument! Anyway... The starting bid on that is of course $0.01 and like DeathKnight, if you want to buy yourself back Rach it'll cost you more than just a penny. :p
Like Gavin said earlier... This means war! :animeangr First of all [hands over the $10 buy him now price] and second... How could you steal my online hubby and attempt to sell him! Gah! Just for that I put Crystia up for sell! If you thought having her Indigo font color was cool, just imagine how cool it would be to have Crystia aka indifference the Category Moderator of Entertainment to do whatever you wanted with! All for the starting bid of $0.01 However, a disclaimer if you will... Depending on what you buy her for... you have to accept any and all liability if she should decide to ban your butt if you upset her. >_> We hold no responsibility in regards to the outcome of this purchase. And there will be no refunds either. As for Rat Boy, I'll out bid ChibiHorsewoman and offer $5 for him. So I can smack him for wanting to buy my E. :p
  15.
Hey guys - just wanted to apologise for the awful quality of my last post - my brain = fried at the moment. I promise I'll do better next time :animeswea
Not at all, in fact I prefer it if people don't attempt to cram their objectives into a single post. So I really like how you did that. Introduced the change and yet didn't immediately launch into the next part. ^_~ Also, if that's your idea of bad... o_O I must be missing something since I didn't see it that way. Anyway, everyone has their new objectives except for you inwardscream, I'll get that to you later tonight. I had it written up and my word program crashed, taking it with it. XP I have all my plots already written up, but I tend to write out the full objectives as they come up since I tailor them to match how things have been going. So once I'm a little less annoyed with the program crashing, I'll redo it and get it to you.
  16.
I really doubt that I was able to do five "life actions" in one post... This sucks!
Oh I don't know, I mean... Kathy got six life points in her first post! o_O I'm gonna have to be more careful or I'll never win! But still six? :o I've got my work cut out for me! Still it does make things more interesting or rather harder as Kathy said, I'm too use to not worrying about positive and negative actions canceling each other out. So it's taking a bit to get use to it.
  17. 1 - Do you think it is appropriate for political candidates to talk about their religious beliefs as part of their political campaigns, or do you think this is not appropriate? Well that depends, if they are trying to use what religion they follow as a point to get votes instead of showing what they are for or rather what they intend to do, then at that point it's not appropriate. Sure their religious beliefs will influence what they decide to do if elected, like banning abortion or gay marriage, but it shouldn't be a vote for me because I'm [insert religion here]. I want to see what they intend to do not what church they are going to attend. 2 - Do you think it is appropriate for religious leaders to urge people to vote for or against a political candidate, or is that not appropriate? No I don't. Lunox stated it very well in that religious leaders need to focus on teaching beliefs and values since those will influence how people vote anyway. But for them to say vote for this person or vote no on this particular bit of legislation. That I completely disagree with since it puts an unnecessary amount of pressure on people to vote a certain way just to fit in with the rest of the members of the religion you belong to. 3 - Thinking about your vote for president next year, how important is it that a candidate SHARES your religious beliefs? Not important at all since I don't really have any religious beliefs. I intend to vote for the person who I think will do the best job as well as one who doesn't have agendas that I don't agree with. Though whether or not that will be possible is yet to be seen. In which case it will end up being the lesser of two evils as I like to call it. The one I dislike the least. 4 - How important is it for a candidate to have STRONG religious beliefs, regardless of whether those beliefs are the same as yours? Personally I think strong religious beliefs are completely unnecessary. Like I said to the previous question, I'll vote for the person I think will get the job done, what religion he/she belongs to is meaningless to me.
  18.
Should I try starting this at another time of the year? Are you too busy to play, currently?
Well you already know that it's not something that really appeals to me Charles, however, the being busy really is the biggest issue since I'm running my own RPG as well as co-running one with BKstyles and being a part of two others as well. Add moderation duties over at theOtaku and well... That just kind of kills any interest I might have had since I'm already in so many things right now. Which is a shame since I can see how this could be rather fun in action.
  19. Pfft! And here I joined just to clobber Matt! No fair! :animesigh Anyway... I'll mention it to Kathy when I see her later today Sandy. Though she wouldn't care for some of the more mature content... She might find the concept of playing a god of light and truth interesting. Anyway... I'm definitely not going anywhere. Not after all the work I've put into this so far, even if I have little to no points. lol
  20.
Mhm. When everyone lays their heads to sleep at night, I run around all by myself. Hehe.
I wondered what happened to you. ^_~ Even if your views differed it didn't mean they weren't welcome. If I recall correctly you started a thread about Mormons as well as one about religion in general. Besides you're one of the few people I know who lives in Utah like I do. :catgirl:
  21. A word of advice orbindo, first of all, lay off the Caps please. That's the same as if you are shouting at others. Secondly. Try to put a little more into your posts from now on. What you just posted is not that far from being total spam really. As for the topic? I'd go for something more unique that isn't easy to find back home. Though as to what that would be... I have no idea.
  22.
Wait, I've been here longer than Sunfall? Hm, now I really feel old. I think someone said I was overlooked on OB, can't remember who that was... but yeah that's kinda true now XD
Oh so not true. ^_~ I didn't follow it faithfully but I remember Gifts and Curses since I considered joining it. 23. With it finally being October... I have to add on that when Halloween comes around I always love candy corn. 24.
Does anyone know a good quiche recipe? Or, better yet, does anyone have any good recipes they'd like to share? -Shy
Well I can't help you with a Ham and Cheese recipe, but my mom use to make Asparagus Quiche and if you like Asparagus, you'd probably like it. It really is quite tasty. Asparagus Quiche * 1/2 to 3/4 pound asparagus, trimmed, chopped * water * 2 tablespoons butter * 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms * 4 green onions, with green, thinly sliced * 1 small tomato, peeled, seeded, diced * 1 1/2 cups shredded Havarti cheese or Swiss, about 6 ounces * 4 large eggs * 1 1/2 cups half-and-half or whole milk * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper * dash nutmeg In a saucepan, cover the asparagus with water. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat, cover, and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside. In a skillet, heat butter over medium-low heat; add mushrooms. Saute until mushrooms are tender; add green onions and cook for 1 minute longer. Set aside. Line a 9-inch or 10-inch pie plate with pastry; bake at 375° for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and reduce oven temperature to 350°. Arrange vegetables and shredded cheese in pie pastry. Whisk together the eggs and half-and-half; add salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour egg mixture over the vegetables. Place the filled pie shell on a large cookie sheet or jelly-roll pan. Place in the oven and cook for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Seeing your thread reminds me that I haven't made this recipe in over a year. I really need to fix that! lol
  25.
EDIT: The first cards have been dealt, so let the killing commence!
Pfft! Only cause Crystia twisted Bellanna's power! Though I have to admit, even if that was rather interesting... It was rather slick on your part Crystia. Immediately taking advantage of the implications I put in the initial post where Cho got Bellanna's power. I can see that if I am to have even a hope of winning, I will have to become more ruthless in this game. Well, tomorrow that is. I've got other plans for today and they do not include posting. Even if I really do want a death card! :bawl: *wonders if she should go for life points instead since she sucks at getting the death points* And yes... I'm spamming your thread Sandy!
