Well there goes my idea for an OB sex orgy. Well darn. brb, time for seduction.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. XP It's getting too serious in here. Pity. All joking aside, for those that want specifics, it depends on your maturity as well as whether or not you want to have it with the person. All I'm saying is marriage doesn't equate to sex is better because you waited. XP Or bad because you did and then later broke up. Honestly, if you want to wait, then wait, if you feel you're ready, then by all means don't wait. I really do think people should carefully consider it and then decide for themselves what they want to do.

Wow. I never knew "Insert Tab A into Slot B" meant the same as "I love you, and I want to be with you forever". It's amazing! Despite how "essential" sex is made out to be, it's still only sex, and I want more out of a relationship than knowing that I'm going to knock-up a girl in the name of my love for her. I like the metaphysical aspects of love. Oh, and as for sex before marriage - do what you want. I don't care. Of course, this is only my opinion.
:animesigh
To those who say that sex is an essential part of a romantic relationship, I have to ask: do you believe that that relationships are impossible for those who cannot have sex? I'm specifically thinking of, say, paraplegics, although there are certainly others. Is love out of their reach, and can they only befriend? And what of the case of those in a successful, romantic relationship that become paralyzed? Does the relationship automatically go back to a "caring friendship," or is sex only important in the intial stages?
I think I said it was important, not necessarily essential. Sure it might seem like it's necessary, but obviously it's not since it's not an aspect that everyone is able to enjoy. I merely think that if you can it's a part of the relationship that shouldn't be overlooked. I'm not really going to fully address the second paragraph since the concept that it couldn't be more than a caring friendship isn't what I was getting at by saying it was important. In an attempt to be short and to the point... If you're reached the point where you care for each other more than just friendship, then at that point I think it becomes important. Marriage is really just an ideal and a slip of paper tying your status together legally. Not an indication that your love or sexual encounter is any more special. And obviously there is more to love than sex. So I find it hard to believe that if you couldn't have that aspect of the relationship it would mean you couldn't be in more than just a caring friendship. Also while we are on this tangent. Why do people seem to think that if you're not married that it's only sex and couldn't be love?

Lucia had dealt with the Wraith, but still she could not get the encounter out of her mind. Everything that had happened since they entered the mansion and the Count had trapped them in the parallel universe's did not make sense. It was nagging at her that logically she could not put the puzzle together as to what was happening. Unlike the other Shinigami who relied a bit on human technology she had always taken her own route, giving her access to information and methods that were more advanced than what the humans used. And yet, even with that edge she could not figure out what the Count had done. There has to be some form of deception going on here. She thought as her and Ruby continued to hunt for a way out of the mansion. If we are in a parallel universe, Ruby would be able to shatter the barriers between them. But according to Ruby, it didn't feel like a true parallel universe and if by some chance they were wrong, they couldn't afford to take the risk. Ruby had expressed the concern that attempting to break through could result in destroying whatever reality they were trapped in. Is that what the Count is trying to get us to do? To panic and destroy ourselves as we attempt to escape? "I've been thinking Lucia," Ruby spoke up. "Wraiths have been gone for centuries right? What if we aren't trapped in parallel universe's but instead in different times? It would explain why we can't sense the others." Lucia came to a stop, hovering in front of of a huge set of double doors that led into a massive dinning room. "It would also explain why we can't leave the mansion as well." Lucia reached up with her right hand, grasping her chin in thought. "If we really were sent to a different time it would explain the distortion energy that we detected sealing us in this place, such a thing would serve to not only keep us in this time, but place us in a type of time loop if you will. You and I would be unaffected but this place would not." "If that's the case, then no matter how many times we destroy a trap or take care of a Wraith..." Ruby trailed off. "Exactly, once the loop started again everything would be as it was when we first arrived. Except for us so our interaction with each danger would be different by virtue of not coming to it in the same context as the first time." Lucia turned to Ruby and smiled for the first time since they found themselves trapped in the parallel dimension. "We should head back to where the Wraith was to test this theory, if you're right... It will make our search that much easier." Lucia was about to turn to head back to where the Wraith had been when a loud cry from behind the doors in the dinning room sounded. Instantly Lucia called forth her scythe as she turned to face the doors, slowly stepping back as she did so. "I can sense them this time." Ruby whispered. "There are four Wraiths in there! Lucia! They're coming!" A split second later the doors to the dinning room flew towards Lucia as the Wraiths behind them smashed through. With a half twirl Lucia swung her scythe, cutting the pieces that flew towards her in half. She did not wait to see where the pieces went, Lucia instantly rushed the closest one, her right hand extended as she glided forward and grasped it by the neck. Blue fire exploded from her hand and ran through the creature, turning it to ash even as she half stepped back on her left foot, swinging horizontally with her left hand, cutting the air with her scythe, forcing the other three to move back out of range. "Behind you Lucia!" Ruby screamed in warning, even as Lucia was already taking off into the air, angling backwards as she flipped in mid air, slashing at a Wraith as she came down to land on her feet. With the three rushing her she crouched a bit and then launched herself between the closest two, cutting the one to her left nearly in half, while catching the second one with her right hand, this time, instead of grabbing it by the throat she used the purifying fire to send it slamming into a wall. She ignored the other two in favor of rushing the one that had hit the wall, pinning it in place as she purified it as well. Then a slight hint of movement that warned her they were behind her and she threw herself to the left, but not in time to avoid a glancing blow from behind. Thrown off balance Lucia was knocked into a side door leading out of the mansion. To her surprise the energy that was sealing the mansion struck, sending her flying to land hard on the floor. "Lucia!" Ruby screamed as heedless to the danger to herself she flew in and scratched at the two remaining Wraiths, barely avoiding being caught herself by their outstretched hands. It wasn't much, but it was enough that Lucia was back on her feet, her scythe in hand. Cautiously Lucia circled them a bit, moving to get away from the outer walls of the mansion. I can't afford to accidentally get hit by that energy again. She thought. She had known it was there, but she had not expected it to physically react with her in that manner. Nor had she expected it to hurt either. The wraiths did not give her the chance to get free, as one they rushed her, catching Lucia before she could get out of the way. They were shoving her back towards the door in an effort to pin her in place. Lucia abandoned her scythe allowing it to disappear and instead called her purifying fire forth, ignoring the pain of the Wraith's grasp as she sent it running through her body and into both of them. At the same moment they crumbled into ash, she hit the outer wall and once again was thrown to the floor by the energy. Damn... That hurt. Lucia thought as she slowly got up. "Lucia! Are you alright?" Ruby said as she settled on her right shoulder. "Yes, I am." She took a deep breath. "Thank you." Lucia said simply, knowing that Ruby would know what she meant. Then with another deep breath and an inward sigh she headed for where the first wraith had been. We need to figure this out before someone gets hurt.

ever deadly cancer sticks (thread for smokers)

Well, I was never one to really care what people think about me in general... and I won't care if people think I'm a bad person for this. My grandmother also died of cancer and my father smokes. My mum did and quit as well. // I don't smoke in front of people unless they say it's okay. I don't buy my own, I get offered and take them. I don't make a point of standing outside of buildings or smoke in public areas, since I'm pretty much never in a public area. The only time I smoke around people are smokers who say it's fine. I may be a ****, but I'm a bit courteous when I want to be.
I wouldn't go so far as to think someone is bad for smoking. ^_~ As for the second part, half if not most of the negativity, at least from me, comes from dealing with smokers who can and do make an issue of basically telling you to F off while they blow it in your face. It gives those ones out there who are polite a bad name even though they've done nothing wrong because it's hard to forget those rude jackasses. I'm sure people who are considerate like you are do exist, but then based on what you've said, it sounds like I never see them. Because you know... They aren't smoking near you. And in that case, honestly, I have no issue with it at all. In that respect I agree with Rach, it's your business not mine. I may not care for it, but if someone else wants to do that on their own time or in their own space, that's their right in my opinion. -

Why did it come down to two people that would be a pain to choose from?
I so agree. Anyway... I'll add to the questions since honestly it is a hard choice in my opinion, both of you have done well. :catgirl: So with that in mind answer this: If you could share your victory with anyone, other than the other finalist, who would it be and why?

ever deadly cancer sticks (thread for smokers)
SunfallE replied to Metalcore501's topic in General Discussion

Now I'm just kinda ranting, but I guess you get the idea that I really don't like smoking/smokers. It just always seems that no matter where I'm standing around someone who's smoking or what direction the wind is blowing that the smoke always comes in my direction like it knows I hate it. ¬_¬
That's so true and it's one of the reasons I hate smokers. If someone is smoking near you, it always ends up in your face somehow. And though I don't have asthma like Crystia does, I am allergic to a lot of air pollutants so smoke just gets my allergies going and if it's too close, it makes my sinuses burn. So I avoid people who smoke since I want nothing to do with it. Plus, I've got uncles and aunts who, though I wasn't close to them, died from lung cancer from smoking. So it's clear that doing something like that isn't very smart.
I'm sorry, but I do have to disagree with 13thMan about so-called 'sensitive smokers' too. There's no such thing. If they smoke at all, whether in front of me or not, they're still smoking and polluting our breathing air with filth.
I have to agree, being 'sensitive' has nothing to do with smoking because to be blunt if they really were so 'sensitive' you wouldn't have to ask them to smoke elsewhere. It's an addiction and other than one older woman that I knew, not one of them ever gave a damn that they were exposing others to second hand smoke. We have a law here in Utah that says they have to be 50 feet from a public building, so what do they do? They smoke just outside the door and don't give a damn that when others leave work they have to walk though the stench. In the end it's up to the person to decide if they want to smoke, but honestly, you won't be doing much with me. I hate the smell and I sure as hell won't let anyone smoke in my home. It's one thing I simply won't tolerate in a boyfriend, because I hate the smell and I've yet to meet a smoker who on some level doesn't smell of smoke. Now you might think that's no big deal, but it does come up as a turn off in certain situations, I'm not going to explain since I'm sure you can grasp what I'm getting at. Anyway, in the end I simply avoid it since it's unpleasant, and I've no interest in getting cancer from second hand smoke either. -

Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. Lunar is heavy on the adventure and smooth-flowing side, with your classic magic and steel themes that plays out to be a fantastic representation of its genre.
*smack* How could you mention Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and leave out the sequel Lunar 2: Eternal Blue? :p Both games are fantastic even if it's a ps1 game. So to get it you'd have to find a seller instead of going directly to a shop. The game play is older of course, but the story line with Lunar 2: Eternal Blue having more than an hour's worth of anime cut scenes woven into the storyline, is engaging and funny. It makes the game well worth playing. And both of them have secondary quests that you do after you've beaten the main boss. Both of them are easily my favorite RPG's of all time. In fact... I'm currently playing Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete again at this very moment. :catgirl:

Heh, more classical styled music of course. Right now I'm listening to The Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. It's kind of fun to listen to others play them instead of simply doing so myself.
I won't argue that... But then... Listening to you play was me getting to hear someone else play one of the Suites. :p That and I can't play the Cello. Heh Anyway... *pokes Rach* I so blame this on you. Mentioning Bach and his Organ Fugue's. I just had to go and drag out my favorite one by him to listen to it after reading your post. It's pretty well known but if someone hasn't heard it before: Toccata & Fugue in D Minor Honestly I could listen to that on repeat for a while and not get tired of it. Heh. And hearing it played live? Now I want to go to a concert. lol

Great sign ups everyone. :catgirl: I'm only going to comment on the new ones since those who are continuing from before are already accepted. Anyway, Blayze, I love yours especially since it's a type of character that hasn't been in the series yet so you'll fit in perfectly. Shy, your's is fantastic too and just as we discussed on AIM, the side story of your character would definitely make a nice addition to the story line. BKstyles, your's is perfect as well. But then we already discussed this last night on MSN. So everything is in order. I'm still going to leave it open of course but right now as far as I'm concerned all of you would fit perfectly into the story. ^_~ Aaryanna will be putting hers up and then of course in a bit I will put mine up as well. Then like Crystia said in the underground thread, close to the first of next month we'll get this show on the road.

There are so many that are good! And you guys have listed several that I also like. Sweet Tarts, Starburst... Those two are definitely quite good. Right now one of my favorites is Swedish Fish as well. I love how they are not too sweet and yet good. I don't get candy very often so I'm very picky about what I will get. lol Oh and I have to agree... Cream Savers are good. I'd never tried them before until BKstyles was telling me how good they are, so naturally I had to go and get some to try them. Turns out he was right. ^_~

Come back to me in 10 years when I've snapped and trapped a bunch of women in my basement >_>
I can see it now... When it hits the news... All of us will be going... OMG! I knew him when he was a member at OtakuBoards! :D *dies laughing* Anyway... As for the topic. XP Abstinence is important but certainly not what I would recommend for everyone. Because if you're old enough then it becomes your personal choice as to whether or not you wait for marriage. I know I don't. It really depends on the person I'm dating, sometimes it just seems natural to become more intimate in the relationship even if you're not thinking about marriage. Now as for first times. >_< No details out of me on that one. I'd rather forget it actually. But embarrassing moments? I've had my share of those and ChibiHorsewoman, you're right, hearing your parents voice on an answering machine does kill the mood. lol But yeah, in the end? Sex is important in a relationship and not just for marriage. Honestly, I've never believed the notion that one has to be married for it to be appropriate.

I remember it clearly because at the time I thought my dad was joking. I had time off from work and I was playing Diablo II and simply taking it easy. My father came upstairs to where I was using the main computer in the house and told me that a plane crashed into one of the towers. I asked him if he was kidding. Naturally he was not so I went and watched the news with him and saw the next plane hit the second building since they were covering it live on the news. Such a messed up day that was. And though it was horrible, it didn't really affect me since most if not all of my family and friends live on the west coast. Now later it did because of all the economic shifts as a result of that act of terrorism. For example, now, thanks to that event, if you want to have an endorsement on your commercial driver's license in order to carry hazardous materials you have to go through a background check. So I had to go through the whole deal of filling out tons of forms, being fingerprinted and such if I wanted to continue to be able to transport hazardous materials. The only good thing is my job paid for it. Though since that includes being able to haul explosives, gasoline, etc. I guess it makes sense. Also, I do feel bad for the families, even if no one I love was affected. I do know what it's like to lose some you care for. So I hope they have found some form of closure.

Well all of you won't get any argument out of me as to Columbus not being a hero. In all honesty, when the subject came up when I was in History and such, it was not discussed in depth at all. So most if not all of what occurred is something I'm not familiar with. And I've never been into history all that much, though I suppose that came from having history teachers who quite literally bored me to death. I've only had one who made it interesting. Also, if anyone wants to enlighten me on this... I think the real question as to whether or not he's a villain comes from knowing how much of what he did was considered acceptable in his day, not by today's standards. I think that puts it in a different light altogether. It doesn't make it acceptable, but I think it does change the actual intent. And like I said, I really don't know a whole lot other than his name. XP

Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
SunfallE replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Theater

Seriously. The four of you should feel free to go absolutely bonkers. Make me laugh. Make me go O_O.
I think you're more likely to get the bonkers response from the others. lol However, even though Lucia seems calm, she is, in fact, not. She's highly confused by what just happened. Confused enough that on some level she's more concerned with figuring out what just occurred instead of wondering about the others. lol Besides I think Adrian's approach of attempting to strike the Count down and simply smashing through the doors was interesting. Sounds like someone is beyond annoyed. Heh. Anyway, now I'm curious to see what Shalua's response will be. -
"Well, this is unexpected." Lucia observed calmly. "Theoretically the Count should not have been able to do what he just did." She pulled out her communicator and attempted to contact someone with it, but not only was there no reply, there was also no connection to anything at all. Not even the normal transmissions that she could tap into whenever she wished. That can't be right. "Lucia!" Ruby said shrilly as she took off and flew around the room a bit before returning to hover in front of Lucia. "We don't have time for theories! We need to find the others!" Lucia just absentmindedly reached up and scratched Ruby's ears when she landed back on her right shoulder. "I know that Ruby, but think about what I'm saying here, even if the Count managed to somehow tap into one alternate reality, he should not have been able to tap into five. And to limit the size of the parallel universes to his own mansion? And then block us from sensing one another?" She shook her head as she put the communicator away and left the room, heading out into the hallway. "You know as well as I do Ruby, even if I could not sense the others, you, by the very nature of what you are and your own power to break barriers should." Lucia randomly picked a direction to take still lost in thought. "The fact that you too cannot sense them tells me that what the Count is claiming must on some level be false." "Well, yeah, but I'm not sure this is another universe, it feels wrong!" She wailed. "It's like someone turned all the lights off, if I tried to change and use my fire, there's no telling what would happen." Ruby hunched down miserably. "I'm sorry Lucia, until you know more... I'm useless." "It won't hurt for us to explore a bit before we take that course, we can't risk damaging the universe that the others are in." Lucia reasoned even as a slight shift in the air alerted her to trouble. She called her scythe to her left hand, reaching up with her right to grasp it firmly, holding it in front of her as she continued. "Lucia!" Ruby hissed in warning as a shadow detached itself from the wall and moved to the middle of the hallway, blocking their path. Lucia halted, unsure as to what they were facing. Even though it was less than ten feet away, it was as if it did not exist as she could not sense anything from it at all. Is it even real? She stepped back with her right foot and braced herself. She was wondering what to do when with a shriek it launched itself at her, it's shadowy arms reaching out to grab her. She waited until the last moment and shifted to the left, swinging with her scythe. She hit it with a glancing blow on the right and was startled by sparks flying from the contact as her scythe cut into its side. But other than to shriek in pain and pull away to give itself a moment to pull it's side back together, nothing happened. "It's a wraith!" Ruby cried in recognition! "You'll have to purify it!" "I know." Lucia said even as she called on her own fire, holding it ready for the right moment. It was not as powerful as Ruby's and required her to get much closer than she would have liked. Normally she would not have worried about it, but now? Was it possible that like the vampires it too could harm her? But even more importantly, how had the Count even managed to find one? Creatures such as the Wraith had been dealt with centuries ago! What is going on here?

I'm from Wast Virginia and this little snippet, "(although the fact that is happened in a small rural town of W. It's true that we don't have many minorities up there but it doesn't mean we are all racist inbred hicks, and that stereotype is getting really ****ing old.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it ignorant, this type of thing can go both ways. Either people are shocked that something in a small town could occur or they are not surprised since a certain level of ignorance is more common because the locals simply refuse to accept that anyone they know could be like that. So they turn a blind eye to the signs of trouble because they can't or won't accept that such things would happen in a rural town. Now as for the incident itself. It's just sick and I don't have much else to say on it because I really don't know the details. And to be honest it sounds like people are jumping the gun and demanding hate crime charges when it sounds like they are going after the charges that hold the greatest consequences for those sick individuals. Which in my opinion is really whats important, prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law. Not on what might be more 'politically' correct.

How would I go about adding a poll to this thread?
Just click on the link at the very top of this thread that says Thread Tools. In the drop down menu should be the option to add a poll. ^_~ Now as for the actual topic, just as I don't think Columbus is a hero, nor do I think he is necessarily a villain either. Unless you want to go by the standard normal greed of people looking to find new lands and get rich in the process. I won't deny that many things happened that were deplorable. But I'm not so sure that they were going with the intent to commit genocide. After all, until they got there they couldn't have known if there would be anyone there or not.

So just having a single character works great. And that applies to you too Kathy, if you wish to continue with William you can, if you wish to create a new character that's fine too. Or if you simply want to stick with just Daniel, that also works. The plot points do not depend on people sticking with the same characters. Banner by Rachmaninoff Many tens of thousands of years ago, in another part of the galaxy an Empire was born. Before that they were broken into ten different factions and were constantly torn apart by multiple wars; eventually this chaos brought about the formation of a High Council with a representative from each faction in an effort to restore peace. And in time it did. This Empire built by a race that called themselves Versilan’s then turned their focus outwards expanding their reach into the depths of space as their technology grew. At first their efforts were peaceful, but as time went by and they began to also enhance their lifespan through genetics, they began to see themselves as being superior to other races that they had encountered. Corruption began to build from within as people turned their backs on the unpleasant rumors so long as their every wish was fulfilled. And slowly but surely, the High Council became more military in nature, more separate from the common person. And now for over a thousand years they have been slowly conquering other races, crushing all opposition both from within and from without. They are experts at keeping the common civilian happy and yet recruiting those into their ranks who believe the teachings that other races are inferior and meant to be used to serve the Versilan Empire. But there were those who did not agree and when key dissidents began to disappear those who were more cautious remained silent choosing to work in secret, and thus the Versilan Resistance was born. Risking everything they worked to put in end to the slavery as well as other injustices that had occurred. Now due to recent events those few who risked everything to stop those in power have at last succeeded in bringing to light serious crimes committed by a select few of the High Council. For you see all Versilan's, other than those of the High Council and their families have been genetically altered to remove feelings of compassion towards those of the lesser races even though mental alterations of this nature are forbidden. Also, about fifteen hundred years ago, when genetics were fairly new and conquering other races had only just begun, some of those of the lesser races managed to pass themselves off as Versilan, resulting in four of the factions of the High Council having mixed blood due to their ancestors; something that is considered unacceptable since interaction with those of the lesser races is also forbidden. Even though most Versilans consider themselves superior to those of the lesser races who were enslaved, in light of these events being made known, six of the fourteen sectors have broken off from the Versilan Empire, demanding that all beings of the lesser races be freed as well as ending the mental alterations that are done to all Versilans when they are genetically produced. But those who are still in power are unwilling to free the lesser races, pointing out how their economy depends on the labor of those who have been enslaved. They have instead declared their intent to retake those sectors that have broken off. They have declared war. ----------------------------------------------- Welcome to Silver One: Civil War. Where the fate of the powerful Versilan Empire is in your hands. If you are on the side that would keep those of the lesser races as slaves, it is time to reclaim the sectors that have broken off. To remind the rest of the Empire just where their loyalties should lie. If you are a member supporting the dissenting factions, those who's ancestors includes those of the lesser races, you have finally reached the point where you no longer have to hide your mixed heritage. Though most if not all were not aware of it since those who served on the High Council kept such knowledge a secret. But now five other sectors have joined your cause, along with those of the Versilan Resistance who brought this injustice to light. With their help you can finally put an end to the distasteful practice of slavery and illegal genetic modifications. ----------------------------------------------- Now before you decide where your loyalty lies, there are some things you need to know. For starters, Silver One: Civil War is a continuation off of the first installment, which can be found here: Silver One However, knowledge of this or having read it is not required. Although the story is picking up where those who participated before have left off, knowing what happened before will not be necessary since those who are continuing will be providing a short summary of what their character did. Everything will be included in their signups and in the opening posts. As well as basic details as to how things work in the underground thread; which includes a basic history line of all that has happened so far. That can be found here: Underground However, this will merely be a list of major events as any new characters would not be aware of what happened before other than those events that were so shocking or important that everyone in the Versilan Empire knew. So joining in at this point is much like finding out that your country has gone to war and only now are you required to take sides, to put aside your everyday life to help restore peace. Now in this RPG you have the chance to create two characters to play. You do not have to decide immediately, as you can start with one and then later create another one. Most of the people who have already decided to join the battle are already controlling two characters, myself included. I also intend to follow a format where any player who for whatever reasons is unable post, their character will become missing in action. You can do this on purpose if you have exams coming up. You can send your character on a mission and then re-join the story when you return. If you are unable to return, your character at that point will either stay missing, or will be killed in action. Sign Ups Name: Pretty much anything you want. I have been using English names for the Versilan characters for the simple reason that it’s easier for me to follow. Age: Sixteen to two hundred. Sixteen being the youngest one can enter the Versilan military and two hundred being the oldest for enlisting in the Versilan military. If you are human the age is eighteen to fifty years old. Gender: Male or Female. Race: Versilan or Human. Either one is fine. Loyalty: This is where you decide if you are a member of the Versilan Military or from one of the Sectors that have broken away. You could also be a member of the Resistance that is backing the Sectors calling for equal treatment. Or you could be neutral. Description: Pictures are acceptable; however they must be humanoid in appearance. Anime is acceptable so long as there are no wings, cat ears, tails, or things along that nature Also, all Versilan’s have silver colored eyes; this is a result of the genetics used to give them increased strength, as well as longer life spans. I realized that finding pictures of characters with that color would be difficult. So whatever color your character does have will be what they use when the character has a need to visit other planets. Like Earth for example. Someone with silver eyes would look very strange. If your character is human, then the color doesn’t matter. Weapons: Primitive weapons are a definite no no if your character is a Versilan. The Versilan’s have long since left swords, knifes and other such weapons behind. Hand to hand combat since the average Versilan is much stronger than other races and laser/disruptor weapons are what the military prefers to use. Special high tech explosives are also used, but they are strictly regulated and only officers receive the necessary training to be able to use them. Bullets and other such primitive weapons are strictly forbidden on any ship and thus no character would really use them. However that doesn’t mean there aren’t many versions of laser/disruptor-based weapons. This is really more of a brief description of what types of weapons you have been trained to use. If your character is from Earth, then more primitive weapon skills are acceptable. Special Skills: Is your character a doctor? An officer? Or a computer programmer? If you are with the resistance or the sectors that have broken off, are you in the Versilan Military working as a spy and if so what skills make you a good choice? Which side are you spying for? Or are you on the outside working to recruit more members or find ways to help with the fight to put an end to slavery, as well as to the prejudice facing those with mixed heritage? If your character is from Earth, what is their profession? Personality: What’s your character like? The only requirement here is that there needs to be some variety among the signups. Short Bio: A snippet of what your character is like. It can be a flash back, or a post in the setting you have chosen. It doesn’t have to include everything, but enough to give me a good feel for your character. I’d say about thee to four paragraphs would be a good start. If you are continuing from before, a summary of what you character did in the last installment is preferred. Just the highlights is enough. Current Cast: Resistance Celestia Lynn Henderson (Earth/Versilan): SunfallE Jason Eric Sanders (Earth): SunfallE Daniel Landers (Versilan): Aaryanna_Mom Kiva Salqarian (Versilan): GuyYouMetOnline Marc Nazarian (Human): ForestCrusader Versilan Empire Jared Waldo Scorer (Versilan): indifference Sandra Tessa Luciana (Versilan): indifference Crystal Matheson (Versilan): Aaryanna Darren & Kerstin Anderson (Versilan): Rachmaninoff Greydon Kreid (Versilan): Blayze Vallon Drace (Versilan): BKstyles Neutral Colin and Bright Eyes (Human & Dog): Shy One other note, it is absolutely not required to play two different characters to be a part of this story. You can if you wish too, but please don’t feel like you have to. Also, if it helps to know, this RPG won’t be following a chapter system, but rather one of an event system. Similar to chapters only there’s no post order. Indifference or I will be posting about major changes in the story line that affect everyone. A banner and a notation indicating this will always head these posts to help avoid any confusion. I intend to leave a lot of leeway in how things progress as I’ve tried to tailor my plot twists to fit different directions to avoid restricting the actual story. I intend to provide objectives that need to be completed, but in addition to that you’ll be able to add a lot of your own ideas into the storyline.

Each faction has a main leader and four others who also serve as a member of the High Council.
High Council candidate: Before someone can become a member of the High Council, they must first serve as a candidate for the position for several years. Candidates are chosen when it is clear that a member is going to either retire or is ill, like in the case of Erica Kendrick who is terminally ill since a candidate was chosen to eventually replace her before she was arrested for being the leader of the Resistance.
Representatives: They are officials elected to represent each sector and deal with the High Council on their behalf. Though politically they have a lot of power and make decisions for the sectors they represent, the High Council still has the final say in any decision that is made.
In addition to beginning to explore space, genetics are slowly developed and the Versilan?s begin to improve their race and slowly expand their lifespan until all Versilan?s live about 300 years. To give you an idea, Here?s a chart comparing them to what they would look like if in human years: 0-16 develop much the same as humans do. 16-20 similar to 15 20-175 similar to 20 175-200 similar to 30 200-225 similar to 40 225-250 similar to 50 250-275 similar to 60 275-300 similar to 70 Most Versilians pass on somewhere between 275 to 300 years old.
There are 14 inhabited sectors in all. Sectors 7-12 are the ones that have broken off from the rest of the Empire. Earth is located in sector 13 and is still under Versilan Rule. Sector 14 is a military outpost and top research facility. Chart
Events leading up to civil war

The Versilan Empire conquers Earth.
The resistance successfully mounts an attack of a major supply depot in sector six, destroying the crystals that are essential to all Versilan technology as well as damaging the fleet in the area due to the distortion waves caused by destroying so many crystals at the same time.
The resistance successfully mounts another attack, this time in sector four, completely destroying the crystals that were growing on the planet. The resistance reveals that the High Council is doing research to mentally alter the races that have been conquered and turned into slaves. Versilan law forbids mental alteration.
The resistance destroys the main facilities in sector seven for manufacturing spaceship parts and equipment.
Erica Kendrick a member of the High Council is arrested for being the leader of the Resistance.
Proof that other than members of the High Council and their families all Versilans were mentally altered from birth to make them indifferent to other races is revealed.
The High Council is put under house arrest as the military seizes control and puts the Empire under Martial Law while an investigation is conducted to determine which Council members are guilty of high treason. Two are eventually executed for their crimes.
It is revealed that when the first race was enslaved, some of them ended up in the families of four of the factions that rule the Versilan Empire. Though it happened well over a thousand years ago, the people are divided. Some believe that it?s time to free the enslaved races while others still hold fast to the belief that they are superior.
How the military works:

Basic military: Deals primarily with planetary defenses on the ground as well as for the planets where the enslaved races are. Commanded by Zach.
Space forces: The part of the military that serves on the battleships and fleets of the Versilan Empire. This is the force that Fleet Admiral Stevens commands. Stevens is also a member of the High Council.
Elite military: Deals primarily with the security for sector one, the main home world as well as for the Council Center. Those in the Elite military outrank those of the regular military and the space forces. Other than the main commander for the basic military and Stevens who commands the space forces. Currently the one in charge of all the Elite military forces is Elite Commander Ketch Dakar.
Elite Specialists & Task forces: Elite specialists are the ones who handle the most sensitive assignments through out the Empire and answer to no one but the High Council. The Elite Task forces provide direct security for the Council members, though on occasion so does the Elite military as well. Like the Elite Specialists, they only answer to the High Council. Commanded by James. Also, they do outrank all other military and security forces. Even their main Commanders like Stevens or Dakar. Except for Stevens since being a member of the High Council means they answer directly to him.
Internal security: Deals primarily with security for high-ranking officials like Darren Anderson, the current shipping expert for the High Council and other politicians on not only the home world but other sectors as well.
Special Investigations: Specializes in checking out cases that baffle local authorities in different sectors. They take care of cases that are beyond local law enforcement and yet don't require the expertise of the Elite forces. Now there are other security forces as well, but they are usually local to each world or city. Those that I have listed are regulated by the High Council. They govern themselves for the most part, based on regulations set by the High Council, but any huge decisions have to be approved by the Council, like appointing Stevens. The previous Fleet Admiral could choose a replacement, but it still had to be authorized by the Council.
Basic Technology:

Transportation door technology: It's not like what you would see in say Star Trek as things are not broken down and then put back together again at the new location. It's more like folding space in that you walk through the door just like you would any other door. It also means a much greater range and things being in your way, like a planet doesn?t limit you. To give an idea, using it to send someone as far as a place like Mars would not be out of the question. Recent developments have resulted in doors that open above a person, move down and thus transport them without the need to physically walk through.
Crystal Technology: special crystals that are grown on various worlds power all equipment. The crystals co-exist with an alternate dimension, which is speculated as being the source of the energy they give off.
Hand Held Computers: Most Versilans use a type of small powerful hand held computer for everything. Officers are given a unique model with greater capabilities.
Space Travel: All space ships travel via hyperspace.
Ship Types & Classes:

Super Dreadnaughts: Just under 10,000 meters long and 1,000 meters high these massive ships are equipped with just under 200 disruptor lasers and 40 disruptor missile launchers. With hundreds of decks these ships are the flagships of the Versilan Empire, carrying a crew of approximately 200,000 personal. Each one is also equipped with 20 smaller transport vessels for carrying troops to the surface of a world and with dozens of smaller fighter craft, the LAC Carriers for defending the ship. Only five ships to date have been built, Creator, Conqueror, Intrepid (destroyed in battle), Crescent and the Eclipse now renamed to Liberator by the New Alliance forces.
Dreadnaughts: Just under 1,200 meters long and 350 meters high these ships are the mainstay of the Versilan military. They are equipped with 60 disruptor lasers and 15 disruptor missile launchers. The ship has 75 decks and a crew of approximately 35,000. They are also equipped with 4 smaller transport vessels for carrying troops to the surface of a world and a dozen of the LAC Carriers for assisting with ship defenses. There are literally hundreds of these ships; ones that have come up in the story so far are the Crimson. Current classes in use are the Furious and the Ambuscade.
Light Dreadnaughts: Just under 1,000 meters long and 300 meters high these ships are the next mainstay of the Versilan military. They are equipped with 40 disruptor lasers and 10 disruptor missile launchers. The ship has approximately 50 decks and a crew of approximately 20,000 personnel. They are also equipped with 2 smaller transport vessels for carrying troops to the surface of a world but do not have any fighter craft. Like the Dreadnaught, there are literally hundreds of these ships throughout the Versilan Empire. Ships in the story so far, Tempest. Current classes in use are the Mount and the Starcrest.
Messenger: Just under 800 meters long and 200 meters high these ships are the forerunners of the High Council?s agents. They are equipped with 50 disruptor lasers and 20 disruptor missile launchers. Nearly three fourths of the ship is given over to engines and heavy defenses as well as full automation. As result the ship can be run by a single Elite Specialist or the specialist along with two crew members. It has approximately 15-20 decks depending on the class. The newest and most powerful class is the Star class using the newly developed perfect crystal system. Classes before that in order have been the Crusader, Defender and the Harrier class. All classes before those have been retired and dismantled. Previous messenger ships have each one been slightly smaller than the next class but not by much.
Heavycruiser: Just under 600 meters long and 175 meters high these ships are the mainstay of both the shipping and local policing agencies of each sector. The ships basic design can be fitted with 20 disruptor lasers and 5 disruptor missile launchers if for use by the local law enforcement. If fitted for shipping only 10 disruptor lasers and 3 disruptor missile launchers are allowed. They have approximately 30 decks though it varies depending on whether or not it?s fitted for hauling cargo. Crew also varies depending on the level of automation, up to 1,000 for local law enforcement or less than 50 for shipping merchants. Each ship is equipped with four standard shuttles. Current classes in use are the Linnet and the Culverin. Older retired class still in use is the Endure class.
Lightcruiser: Just under 400 meters long and 150 meters high these ships are also used for both shipping and local policing agencies. The basic design can be fitted with 15 disruptor lasers and 4 missile launchers for local law enforcement; or with 8 disruptor lasers and 2 missile launchers. They have approximately 20 decks depending on whether or not it?s fitted for hauling cargo or for law enforcement. Crew varies depending on level of automation, up to 750 for local law enforcement or less than 25 for shipping. Each ship is equipped with 2 standard shuttles. Current classes in use are the Aria and the Javelin class. Older retired classes include the Knight and the Avalon.
Sector Snapshots:

High Council City: Unlike other sectors, the cities are all underground since the surface of the planet was devastated by wars in the past.
Also, since you were admiring the new set I made for Silver One, I made you a set if you want to use it. If not. No worries. I had fun making it all the same. Heh.
Oh my! *dashes off to change her avatar and signature.* That's just gorgeous! :catgirl: I love it! It's kind of ironic since I was thinking about asking you to make me a set when I saw yours. I just love how rich the colors are as well as how nifty the textures look. So thanks again! For the set and for sending me the file for the font. -
Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
SunfallE replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Theater
*looks at the title indifference used* Whee! Depeche Mode! We finally have a song title that I actually recognize! ^_^ And considering the nature of this chapter... You and DB will never convince me that the two of you didn't plan that. Pfft! Title and all. Anyway, no worries Allamorph, I agree, escaping quickly wouldn't be any fun. I'm going to take the confusion angle with Lucia since she rarely, if ever, panics. And since Alex thought the others vanished, or rather seemed to think that beyond the visual... I'm going to assume that for the moment, they can no longer sense each other's auras. That will make the panic/confusion bit easier, at least for me anyway. lol Also... unrelated to Shinigami Dance note here... *steals indifference's new banner/avatar set* ^_^ That new one you've made looks fantastic! -

Don't take it so hard. ^_~ After all I did get the impression that you really didn't have time from your post. Also, I'm too caught up in doing my sequel to Silver One to even think of doing another death card series for a while. As for being burned out, seeing that what Sandy has put up is so very different than the previous three, I highly doubt I'll be burned out since your Abyss one if I remember correctly was going on the basis that people were trapped deep below water. So already that's not the same at all. Now go and read what Sandy put up! *poke*
