The Colonel didn't keep them waiting for long, everyone with the exception of Dr. Rhodes who had yet to return from changing into her vacuum suit, was geared up and ready to go. After glancing over each member who was there he responded to Mr. Bishop. "The cargo bay will do Bishop. Continue to maintain the lock on that location. Once we locate the station's control center I'll contact you so you can use the com-link to establish a lock on that location as well." "Understood sir." Bishop replied before the Colonel ended the communication. He turned to face the three officers under his command noting how each one was well prepared. Then he turned to face Kendra once more. "Give us about ten minutes and then send the other two over," Marcus gave her a tiny grin. "I'm sure that Dr. Rhodes should be outfitted by then." "Will do." Kendra lowered her voice just a tad. "Be careful Marcus." Marcus just shot her another one of his sly grins and then turned and with a few steps putting him in front of the door, he ran his IDT though the reader, accessing the transport room. "Schovick, James and Vayne, follow me in that order." He didn't even turn to see that the three had lined up as instructed while he input the command to activate the transporter. Moments later the equipment came to life and the circular pad lit up. Then without another word the Colonel went first, vanishing as the vertical lines of light ran through his body once he had placed both feet firmly down in the center of the transport pad, taking him with it. Then, a few minutes later, the others had followed suit. Kendra glanced over at Dr. Travis who seemed a bit nervous and yet he gave her just a tiny smile when his gaze caught hers. "Feeling a little nervous Dr. Travis?" "That obvious huh?" He said ruefully. "Well it's just that I've never used transport technology before." "Well at least they didn't leave us stuck with using the older barbaric method of forcing our way in." Dr. Rhodes interjected as she came around the corner all decked out and ready to go. She stopped a good ten feet away from Kendra, scowling a bit at her. "After all some people would rather stick with the stone age." Kendra clenched her fists and willed herself to not answer. I swear! She thought, if someone doesn't smack some sense into her... Stone age and I'm going to report you to The Federation?s Humanities Inquisitor indeed! Kendra was trying to find a neutral response but Dr. Travis beat her too it. "It's a pity that transport technology is so expensive." He gave both women a nervous smile. "I'll be glad when the military finishes testing it and gives it the go ahead for everyone." Dr. Rhodes started to reply but just then the Colonel contacted Kendra, giving her the go ahead to send the other two over. "You heard the Colonel," Kendra said. "You first Dr. Rhodes." With a measuring glance at Kendra she turned and marched into the transport room and took her place on the pad, then moments later Dr. Travis had done the same. Once they were gone, with a sigh of relief Kendra put the transporter in standby mode, leaving it open for the Colonel to access remotely at any time. Then she left and headed for the bridge.

^ OB's #1 schizoid member. I was originally intending to have the familiars meet up with the boys after the nasty was over, SunfallE, but I think your idea makes more logistical sense. (Adrian sounds like he needs his little, shrill-voiced security blanket. :D)
Allamorph is schizoid? :bawl: Why am I always the last one to know about these things? Hehe. As for them meeting up, I had two reasons for that: One: Nathan told Isen to check into the clue and I can't imagine him heading to the mansion without first checking to see what she found out. Two: Crystia sent me a pm telling me she'd like me to include a bit where Adrian insists that they stop to pick up the familiars first. So I have to concur. It definately sounds like Adrian needs his, as you put it, little, shrill-voiced security blanket. :p Which tells me she has something in mind for when we get to the mansion. In fact I'm getting this vibe that both Crystia and DB are up to something. So I'm curious to see that as well as what your sinister scythe deal is. -

I agree, definately don't get rid of your post. I know you've already said you won't but I'm just saying I agree with the others. Now as for your character Rev, the way I've done it is based on Allamorph's character sensing yours on the way to his place, they stopped and picked up Alex and Lucia who were waiting at the place they were suppose to meet Adrian. The way I see it is Shalua probably sensed them as well as they passed by. So my suggestion is to have her decide to follow them to see if they know what's going on. Since Crystia told me that Adrian would insist on picking up Astera, you could have Shaula catch them at Nathan's place. Then whoever wants to go next can take the group to the Count's place. The only thing I'm wondering is if the group would stick together once they arrive at the mansion? Or would they decide to split into groups to check the place out? What do you guys think? -
Tales To Be Told Ruby and Nall had only been back for a few minutes from their excursion to the cafe when Lucia felt the unmistakable presence of both Nathan and Adrian coming in quickly. She was not surprised that Isen was not with Nathan but Astera? It was unusual for her to not be with Adrian. "Where's Astera?" Lucia asked, wondering what could have resulted in her being seperated from Adrian. "Nathan decided we needed to visit someone before we came here," He shot a slightly annoyed look in Nathan's direction, but Nathan just ignored it. "Isen and Astera are looking into the clue, though by now they are probably back at Nathan's place." Lucia turned to Nathan, her expression, one questioning as to who they could have visited at a time like this. Her gaze caught his and a moment later Nathan just shrugged, and gave her one of those amused grins he was fond of. "Perhaps it would be better if you told us what you have learned first." He suggested as Lucia assumed a formal stance, folding her arms across her chest as she first gave him a measuring glance and then turned to Adrian again. "Don't look at me!" Adrian exclaimed, "I'm not the one with acquaintances who are vampires!" Vampires? Lucia shoved the though aside. "Funny you should mention the vampires, four of them attempted to force Alex and I to go and meet someone they called the Count, they implied that one of us was their guest." She looked back at Nathan to see that his expression had become neutral. "I see." Nathan said evenly, all traces of humor gone. "That's not all," Lucia continued. "Once they had been dealt with, Alex and I hacked into the military's databases. We found a file on a Count who they believe is living in a mansion just outside the woods next to the north side of the town. It's suppose to be along the seashore." "Victor told us the same thing." Adrian explained. With a sigh he shook his head impatiently. "Instead of wasting our time here we should go and check out the mansion. After we pick up Astera of course." He looked straight at Lucia, as if daring her to say something about picking Astera up first. "What about Shalua? Did you find out if she got one of the letters too?" Alex asked. Adrian's expression darkened a bit but whatever he was going to say, he kept it in. "I have no idea if she got a letter or not. I did sense her presence so she was not the one kidnapped." "All right then, first we'll stop at Nathan's place and then we'll go and check out this mansion. Agreed?" Lucia looked to each of them, waiting until all of them nodded or verbalized their agreement. Then without a word she took off, the others following suite. She slowed slightly, giving Nathan the lead since it was his place they were headed for and then she fell into place, slightly behind him and to the left. Adrian and Alex were over to the right of Nathan. They were almost there when Lucia caught the edge of a conversation between Alex and Adrian. "Since when did you know how to hack into military databases?" Adrian was saying. Without realizing she was doing so, Lucia moved a bit to better hear what they were saying. "I don't know how, Lucia did it. All I did was pay for the session to use the computer at the cafe." Alex replied. "You know how she is, any time you pry about her stuff she either ignores you or tells you to drop it." He sighed a bit. "I wish I knew how she did it." "Humph!" Nall snorted. "You'd just use it to hack into the computers of the producers who make those shows you like." "I would not!" Alex protested. But Nall just laughed at him as they continued on their way towards Nathan's place.

Dear God.
This is Crystia we're talking about here. Imprisonment master of the Panopticon as well as master at playing psychotic child rapists and vicious villains in other rpgs. Number one rule when rpging with her... Never let her be in charge of creating and controlling the main villain. She's too damn mean! *pokes Crystia*
*laughs* I guess I should also explain that part of Adrian's history as a Shinigami is dealing with war. He originally started with just one, but quickly realized when dealing with battle related deaths, two was far more convenient. Now, it's more out of habit than a need to have two.
o_O Somehow I don't find that comforting at all. I swear, you and Allamorph create the most interesting characters. Hehe. Anyway, even though I finished my projects... I got handed another one that will most likely consume all of my time tomorrow. Until proven otherwise, we can hereby conclude that lounge moderators have no taste when it comes to divine drinks.
Pfft! Taste is subjective and though I like Hot Chocolate, Hot Apple Cider is fantastic as well. In other words, I like both. Hot Chocolate though is a toss up for me. I'm allergic to milk so the really rich and creamy ones I don't care for. But some of the more lighter varieties are quite good and I almost always have a mug of hot chocolate when it's cold. In the winter I have it every single day. Besides, if Hot Chocolate drinkers can't appreciate the divine taste of Hot Apple Cider... they need to be banned as well. Both drinks are divine. :p

I think all the comments just showed how divided people's opinion was on the two stories and that makes me very happy, since both of them were well received. I've never had a babysitter from hell, but kids who were hell to babysit? I've done that one before. Probably my favorite was one family who neglected to tell me that their youngest son quite literally gets beyond hyper if he's given sugar. Within fifteen minutes of having a cupcake, that kid was bouncing off the walls. It was terrible. And to top it off, he wouldn't mind anyone, not even his parents. By the end of the evening he had tossed dishes around and broke them while having a temper tantrum and had to literally be locked in his bedroom to get him to settle down. I didn't find out until later that no one would babysit for this couple because of their out of control kid. Naturally I never accepted another job to babysit for them again.

As much as I'd love to say I don't run into people like that... I do. Unfortunately. And though I no longer see her, one of the biggest annoying ones was a former co-worker: she was the poor me attention getter type. No matter what happened, she had to be a part of it. If someone was sick, she would have stories about how she was sicker. If someone had a relative die, her's died in a much more sadder or horrible manner. If something bad was happening in the news, like someone getting shot, she knew one of the people involved. When 9/11 happened, naturally she lost loved ones. There wasn't anything out there that she wasn't supposedly connected to. It was rather sickening to listen to her go on and on. And then the woman wondered why no one ever wanted to be near her or share the same table during lunch time. No one liked little miss poor me. Especially since after awhile, she couldn't keep her stories straight so she'd contradict herself on a regular basis. I mean it doesn't take much to realize that last week it was a woman who died and next week she had somehow turned into a guy. I've got some relatives and sibs like that too. One that annoys me the most is one of my older brothers. He did this huge drama fest about how much it hurt when our brother was killed by a drunk driver, and though that was over ten years ago, to this day he still acts like it was so tragic and is still so painful. To listen to him talk, you'd think he was the only one who cared about our brother. The only good thing about this is he lives in another state so I rarely have to put up with his BS on this subject.
For now, I move that the Hidden not be included in the information Lucia dredged up. Not only does that throw more suspicion on Nathan's character and background, but it also keeps them...well, hidden. I mean, it's kinda hard to hide if everyone knows you're hiding, no?
Well as I said, what Lucia found is exactly what DB has in the beginning of the thread. In other words a file for each faction, including one indicating that there are vampires who are hidden well enough that the government suspects they exist but does not have names to go with said suspected activity. It's more along the lines of knowing that factions like the Count or Seras Valkyrie have ties to other vampires who are more secretive. So I wasn't planning on revealing Victor L'Envers or rather including his name in the information that Lucia and Alex obtained. EDIT: I hate to say it, but for the moment my muse as one would call it has died for this rpg. I have ideas, but I can't seem to get them to work. However, it's most likely a result of having a couple of very time consuming projects on my hands at the moment and those will be completed tomorrow evening. So once I'm done with that I suspect my muse will be more cooperative. XP So don't count me out, I'll most likely have something to contribute this weekend. -
“Well I’m certainly not going on board that graveyard. It‘s dangerous,” Nakeisha replied dismissively as she exited the bridge, “I'll be in my quarters if you need anything.” Kendra just watched, too surprised by Nakeisha's sudden departure to say anything. Since when did a Mechanic have the authority to disobey a direct order from the commanding officer of the expedition? Angry, she stood up suddenly, not even aware that her hands were clenching into fists. Kendra turned at the sound of Alex chuckling, wondering what could possibly be funny about the situation. "Well, she's certainly spirited." He said, drawing the sentence out a bit, clearly suppressing the urge to laugh even more. Kendra just narrowed her eyes, irritated to no end. "I don't care if she's spirited or not, the Colonel ordered everyone to meet in the main conference room. You need to stay here, but her?" She folded her arms across her chest. "I think I'll go and remind Dr. Rhodes that she is not above obeying the Colonel's orders." Kendra was halfway out the door when she stopped and turned back to face Alex, "I'll inform the Colonel that you needed to stay here." Then she left, the door closing behind her. Still annoyed over what had just happened, she quickly checked the quarters. It wasn't that difficult since she already knew which ones were taken. "I'll be in my quarters indeed." She fumed as she stopped in front of the only quarters left, the one that the outside tags indicated it was occupied by Dr. Sanderson and Dr. Rhodes. Poor thing, she thought of Dr. Sanderson. Being stuck with a roommate like Nakeisha. Kendra reached up and pressed the button next to the door indicating someone was there. Honestly, she thought as Kendra waited for Dr. Rhodes to answer, this is ridiculous. Couldn't they have picked someone who actually has field experiance? Though a tiny part nagged at her that the only way to gain it was to well... be given the chance to actually get field experiance. A glimmer of an idea began to form as she gave her attention to Dr. Rhodes who finally answered. "What? The meeting is over already? Well what are you waiting for? Get going!" She started to turn and halted when Kendra spoke up. "If you were paying attention to the time Dr. Rhodes, you would realize that the meeting has yet to start." Kendra said coldly. "I came to remind you that the Colonel's orders were that everyone was to attend the meeting." "But, I already said I'm not going to that graveyard! It's dangerous!" Nakeisha said with a wave of her right hand above her head. "Honestly, you people with short attention spans need to start paying attention!" "That's for the Colonel to decide. Gather your things and get moving Dr. Rhodes!" Kendra barked. "Besides, you need to explain to Colonel DeSouza what you've learned about the gravitational anomalies." "All right! All right!" Nakeisha declared as she turned around, snagged her CCB and brushed past Kendra. "I'll go to the conference room." Kendra just watched her go, resisting the temptation to slam her fist into the wall. What that twit needs is a lesson in humility, as well as one on showing respect for one's senior. Then she smiled broadly as the glimmer of an idea that had started earlier, solidified into focus, I know just what to do. She thought, after all having worked with Marcus before... Kendra knew that Marcus would have no trouble teaching Dr. Rhodes a little humility. She took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself and then made her own way to the conference room in question. Brianna was already there and both Michael and Catherine along with Nakeisha were sitting around the table. All of them looked up as she entered, but other than Nakeisha who looked annoyed, the others were merely curious. Kendra just smiled to herself as she took a seat. She knew Marcus would understand what she was going to suggest.

Do you think you can predict things?
Not really, since things that are close that I would predict, usually have signs or things indicating they are going to happen, you know like saying I'm going to have shrimp for dinner. Usually it's because you intend to buy it, already have it, etc. So it's not a true prediction, just a statement.
I think one thing will eventually happen, and none(that I know.) can deny it. Eventually, all the unpopular people will rise up to defeat the evil popular people of the future!!! Those who disagree will regret denying it when it happens.
Oh I'll deny it, for the simple reason that it makes no sense whatsoever. For one thing, since when did being popular make someone evil? Also, if someone is unpopular, they won't be able to get someone to follow them on said crusade to rid the world of popular people. Anyway, in the end, other than to attempt to predict things, I think true prediction doesn't really exist. We can study patterns like weather, but even with technology it often does not behave as expected. It would be kind of fun if we could predict things, though after a while it would be boring since that would become the norm instead of being different and unique.

I prefer diet soda as well. I just don't care for the way the syrup is so sickeningly sweet in regular soda. So I always get either diet Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper or Fresca. About the only think I don't care for is Splenda. That stuff gives diet soda that sweet taste that I don't care for. lol Right now my favorite is diet lime or cherry coke. But in the end, so long as it's diet I'm happy with Dr. Pepper or even Pepsi. Oh and Cystia, it's funny you mention that you use soda when you need to throw up, when I'm sick, its the exact opposite, it seems to be soothing and helps curb the nausea, especially sprite for some reason. I live on sprite and chicken noodle soup when I'm sick.

what is your favorite anime? If we are talking about a specific show, I don't have one, or rather I have several that all fit into the title of my favorite. If we are talking about types, then it's relationships, comedy, romance and mystery. What kinds of genres do you look for when you search for new anime? Definitely something that deals with relationships or how people get along. Too much action is a complete and total turn off. I want to see character development, not silly power ups and new moves. In any animes you may have seen, do you like anyone from it specifically? I have characters who are my favorites, but as for like? No, they aren't real after all. lol Anyone you wish was real? No, wishing an anime character was real is pointless. My mom says that i'm going overboard with the anime... and I say NO! Well, be honest with yourself, are you actually ignoring other aspects of your life for anime? If so, then she's correct. And being obsessed, no matter what the subject isn't exactly healthy. How many of you have parents who are afraid you base your whole life on anime, or think its a horible kind of show? I would have to say that my parents don't really care. My mom does not like it, my father likes anime movies such as Howl's Moving Castle. But in the end, I'm 36 and haven't had my parents tell me what to watch or what to do in quite a long time. Also, considering the jobs I've had over the years, its obvious that my life is not based on anime. lol

Oh I believe you. I get hit on by girls as well as guys. XP
I suppose for me, it has to do with femininity and the classic perception of female beauty. I love those old movies with actresses like Rita Hayworth in them, which comes to mind just because I watched The Shawshank Redemption yesterday. That full figure, beautiful lips, dark eyes and porcelain skin, just seems to be so ideal, so perfect. A far more modern example would be actress Liv Tyler who shares the same archetype of beauty. Women with that kind of figure just really mesmerise me. There's probably an anthropological reason as well that has to do with suitability as a mother, but I'm going to stick with my earlier answer because it sounds better.
Oh I agree with you Gavin, I just find it funny how those who have that full figure often wish they didn't and those who don't, want it. No implants for me thank you very much! lol Though when it comes down to it, I'm more proud of other features such as intelligence or being level headed. Also... I am proud of being blonde. :p

Well that certainly didn't sound like fun and I have to agree with what Tallgeese- said. I seriously doubt it was put on any record so I wouldn't worry about anything like that and just have fun the next time you go. I actually just went to my first convention on Friday and though it was interesting, on some levels it was pretty boring. It was pretty cool to see all the people who came dressed up, but the events as well as classes and such didn't cover anything that I liked. And the dealer room? A good third of it was local artists selling jewelry they made that had nothing to do with anime at all. It was totally not impressive at all. Though to be fair this is a pretty small convention. In the end, the fun part was meeting indifference and Rachmaninoff for the first time. And since the convention was pretty bland, we ended up leaving and doing other stuff instead. lol So it did end up being fun since we had a great time. :catgirl:
