1.
How do you feel about ugly guys who date pretty girls, or when ugly girls date pretty guys?
Nothing really, the only time seeing an ugly guy with a pretty girl or a pretty guy with an ugly girl bothers me is when the ugly/less attractive one is a jackass. Though that bothers me whether someone is cute or not. I don't get why people stay in a relationship when the other person is a jerk. Then there's the thing that I don't care how good looking a guy is, if he's a jackass... I'd never date him.
  2. Probably the thing I'm most proud of is my education and college degree. For whatever reason every woman on my mom's side of the family never went beyond High School and many never finished at all. So I was determined to not continue in their footsteps and actually get a degree. The day I got my diploma was one of my proudest. The other thing I'm proud of is my ability to drive. I'm sure you can imagine just how intimidating the thought of driving a huge 18 wheeler can be. To be frank even though I was sure I wanted to do it, at first I was terrified. But I stuck with it and learned to do it just the same. ^_^ I no longer drive a semi for a living and I make mistakes, but just the same I'm very careful and have a perfect driving record, no tickets, accidents or anything like that. I've been in accidents, but they were caused by the other driver and not myself.
  3. Lets see... In my ps2 is Tales of the Abyss, Its great fun since it's very similar to Tales of Symphonia and yet it's got elements about it that I like a whole lot better. For starters, the battle system though similar with how it's in real time and you have special moves that are accessible via shortcuts, is a bit more complex than Tales of Sympohnia since it has a whole range of special button combinations that your character eventually learns to protect against certain types of attacks. That alternates with Star Ocean: Till the End of Time since I've beaten the game and I'm clearing the bonus dungeons as well as playing a second game on the next level of difficulty. I'm working on earning more battle trophies so I can unlock the final hardest level. For an rpg it's pretty good too, with a more free style of fighting instead of the turn based bit. My Gamecube has Twilight Princess in it since recently I started playing it again. The sheer scope of how the world is done is every bit as impressive as it was the first time I played it when I got it last year. Though the fun of figuring things out the first time is lacking, but still. I'm enjoying it.
  4. First of all, I'd recommend pestering Allamorph since he could do a far better job of questioning the format, spelling, grammar, etc. With that in mind I'll stick with the actual content since I'm not too good at doing the other. The actual story is interesting and starts off at a good point, where he's struggling to write a story and failing. The point where you semi lost me is when he leaves to go get something to drink, I'm assuming that he went back, but you didn't really clarify it that well, it took me a moment to realize that he was back at the computer. The other point that is a bit off, is the conversation with himself after he's unconscious or dead. You've used left and right alignments for it, but it still sort of blends together a bit. I'd try keeping one voice in regular text and putting the other, perhaps the main character in italics. Even though conversation clearly indicates a separation, a visual one as well would be helpful. Other than that I think you've got the story off to a good start.
  5. Alrighty! My post is up. I hope you don't mind the different technology slant with Lucia DB, she is very picky about that sort of thing. She hates stuff that needlessly destroys things. And a lot of our technology is very destructive, even just in creating it. XP So if there's something else, even if it makes her stand out, she'll use it. Though where she gets it from is a mystery, perhaps she simply makes it herself. Heh. ^_~
  6. Warm golden sunlight was pouring down on her face as the blue haired girl lay back on the grass, simply looking up into the clear blue sky. A moment later a shadow covered her face, a shadow that moved as if it's owner had wings. The girl simply closed her eyes and stretched till her arms were resting just above her head on the grass. "Lucia!" A high pitched female voice demanded. "Don't you think it's time we got going?" Lucia opened her eyes again as a familiar weight settled on her chest, she looked slightly down just as the pink cat sitting on her reached up with it's paw to touch her chin. It's eyes slightly accusing. Gently, Lucia grabbed the cat and set her aside. Paying no attention to her wings or the silly yellow bow she was wearing. With a tiny yawn Lucia finally sat up. "Don't be in such a hurry Ruby, we have plenty of time before our assignment is due." Still Lucia stood up just the same, stretching a little more before with a blur her clothing changed from the simply shorts and casual shirt she had been wearing to a more formal full black outfit and long flowing red cape. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a type of flat crystal and after concentrating a bit, an image appeared along with the details of an elderly woman who was due to move on later that day. Lucia took a moment to listen to the messages stored for her as well, but there was nothing new beyond the old woman. "Honestly Lucia, why do you insist on using that thing? You should use a cell phone like the others. Humans don't even know what that is. All you do is draw attention to yourself anytime someone sees it." Ruby took off and moments later landed on Lucia's right shoulder. "Human technology is destructive," Lucia said simply, giving Ruby the same answer she always did. So long as she was not required to use a cell phone, Lucia would not. Especially where there was technology available to her that did not require destroying the Earth to create it. In that respect humans annoyed her to no end. On some level it was unavoidable and part of how life worked, but on others? She shook her head and simply vanished, along with Ruby. Moments later she reappeared inside a hospital, hovering just to the side of an occupied bed. It's sole occupant obviously struggling to breathe as a few tearful family members kept watch. The old woman seemed to know that Lucia was there and turned to give her a slight smile. "So it's finally time is it?" She said with a soft voice, ignoring her family who were confused as to who she was talking to. "It is." Lucia said. "Are you ready?" She readied her scythe for setting the old woman's soul free. "I am," the old woman said simply. "I've had a good life so I can't complain." "Very well then," Lucia said. With a swift motion of her scythe, seconds later the old woman took her last breath and passed on, leaving her loved ones behind to mourn her. Then as the room they were in seemed to fade from view, Lucia and Ruby along with a young woman with flowing black hair and eyes was standing before them in what appeared to be an endless field of white. "What happened?" The woman asked clearly confused as she looked at her now young body. "Your soul has been freed from it's body." Lucia replied. "It's time to move on." "Did you make me young again?" The woman asked, tears in her eyes. "I was worried that even in death I would still be trapped in my old and frail body." "No, I did not. This is how you see yourself. Now it's time to go Mary." Lucia admonished her, ignoring Ruby's snide remark that she could be a little more personable. It was the same thing Ruby always said when she sent someone on. "Thank you..." The woman paused as she realized that she did not know Lucia's name. Ruby rolled her eyes, "Her name is Lucia and I'm Ruby by the way." Ruby just sighed a bit, I guess Lucia will never change. Not that she minded to much, but still, sometimes she was such a stick in the mud. "Thank you Lucia, Ruby." Then moments later Mary had faded from view as her soul moved on. Leaving Lucia and Ruby who moments later appeared just outside the hospital that the woman had been in. Lucia was about to switch back to her more casual clothing when a tiny bell sounded. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her crystal communicator, Lucia listened to the new message, and then after putting it away she left immediately for her next destination. Saying nothing as Ruby landed on her right shoulder again. "Well that was quick," Ruby observed. "I was expecting a little more time off. Oh well. You'll have to save your tanning for later." Lucia just said nothing and continued on her way.
  7. Well yesterday it was rock music and a musical, today? It's stuff from the Romantic period. I've been listening to stuff by Johannes Brahms most of the day. I started with the Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77, then Tragic Overture, Op. 81. Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98 and the Academic Festival Overture, Op. 80. And now I'm on to the Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 83. I've lost count of the times I've pulled his music out to listen to. I never get tired of it. Especially the Piano Concerto No. 2, it's one of my favorite works by Brahms. What I love best is how much of it has a very rich and powerful sound to it. It's very dramatic in that it conveys a lot of emotion.
  8.
My first method was to try and plot the story ahead of writing it. Know what the next few pages will be about before writing them. This has never worked, either because I get lost in an idea, or it no longer appeals to me and I'm not sure how to retweak it, or I might not know how to put what I'm thinking onto paper. All of my best writing I have done without thinking, but then I will eventually loose interest.
Have you tried thinking of more than one way that the story can go? That's something I often do when working on something, I'll have several potential plot lines so when I get to the next page I have choices as to what I can do. That often helps me to stay focused in that respect.
The second method was to try and switch point of views a lot or two write in a vignette style, but forcing myself to work in that format obstructs the writing process itself.
I think you answered yourself with that one. Switching viewpoints, especially if it's not planned can be confusing, at least for me anyway. XP I'd try to avoid that unless you know that switching the view is part of how the story is meant to be told.
Even though I have some ideas that I really like, I can hardly ever get them written, or often I will and then look back and hate it. I very rarely make it past the first page of writing in a project or the first chapter or train of thought.
Number one rule, at least for myself, is to ignore those feelings of hate. I always hate something when it first starts since it seems so awkward, but if I keep going with the idea to the end, then often I find that I actually do like at least part of it, at that point you can always trim out what you truly dislike or you think doesn't fit.
I want to know your methods on keeping concentrated with writing. Much as I enjoy participating in role-plays and writing poetry, I'd really like to create a longer work some time.
My best method? I try to pick a time when I'm not tired, if I'm tired, no matter how much I like a story or topic, it annoys me to no end that I can't get it to cooperate. Also, have you considered posting some of those beginning thoughts or ideas here for some feedback? Sometimes seeing what others think help me to get more focused and see flaws that were holding me back. And most of all, don't give up. ^_~
  9. Well I have the same question Rach does in regards to Heaven and Hell and how that would fit in, as well as what Prem was saying about this connecting to Esper Jam. However, since you have yet to answer the questions DB I'm assuming we'll find out once this launches. Anyway, regardless, it looks like it's going to be fun. :catgirl:

  11. Right now? Currently I'm listening to Nsync's Bye Bye Bye, both the regular song and the instrumental version. Before that? I was listening to the soundtrack to the Disney musical "Newsies" It's a great movie and fun music if you've never heard of it. It was supposedly inspired by the New York newsboy strik of 1899. Erica Kendrik was not expecting Stevens to actually grant her request to see Jason and Celestia. She really didn't need to see them, it was more of a whim really. She had spent so much time in the shadows, staying hidden, that a tiny part of her wanted to be able to openly talk to someone who was also a Resistance member. Well as openly as one could in a cell that was monitored. But still, Erica had been interested in them ever since she learned of their existence. It was true that they picked up people from other races into their ranks, but it was rare for them to be able to make much of a difference. It wasn't that other races weren't capable, it was more of a case of their world being conquered before they had the chance to develop deep space technology. Earth, out of all that had been taken, was the most technologically advanced and yet they were far behind what her people were capable of. But considering what they had done, perhaps it was a good thing. Though Erica knew it was not, after all, given the same chance to develop as they had did not mean that other races would have done as they had, enslaving others. Though it was interesting to note that every single race at one time or another had enslaved their own people. Even Earth was guilty of such excess, though they had at least abolished it. But that abolishment had come at a heavy price, the nation that allowed slavery ended up in Civil War over the matter. The slaughter had been terrible, at least for them, and even now, if she understood their history correctly, those who's ancestors who were once slaves still faced subtle discrimination from others. Erica had given Stevens the clues he needed to find things out for himself, the question was, would it do any good? For some Versilans, the knowledge would be unacceptable, for others it would only drive home how terrible the modification that had been done to them really was. If it got out, it would drive a terrible wedge between the people. Erica leaned back a bit in her recliner, shifting a bit to try and get comfortable. I think I'll ask Crystal to up the pain medications next time she comes. If she wasn't going to be doing anything, she may as well be half drugged. She had not bothered to ask for anything to read or anything to do, Erica would not let them know just how much being confined with nothing to do irritated her. She was sure Stevens knew, but Erica would not give him the satisfaction of knowing that. It was at least comforting to know that it probably irritated him even more that he could not use any form of coercion or torture to make her talk. Erica knew how much Stevens enjoyed interrogations, especially when it was a woman. She started to shift again, only to stop in surprise when the door to her cell opened. Curious she turned to see who it was. It wasn't time for a treatment or one of her meals, and when Elite Commander Dakar entered, a cold look of disapproval on his face she couldn't help but smile over his irritation. "Dakar, it's so good of you to actually come and see me. I was beginning to think you didn't like me." Erica twitted him even as she looked past him, curious as to why the door was still open. "You can blame Stevens for my visit," Dakar said coldly. "I would never grant your frivolous request." "And what frivolous request might that be?" Erica asked innocently, smiling inwardly at Dakar's irritation. Even if he was good at his job he had always taken himself too seriously. And twitting him over something he would know she knew of, was too much fun for her to resist. "I see that you have not changed," Dakar finally observed. He motioned with his right hand and two people entered the cell. "This request, you know, the only request you've made since you were arrested. Besides the one to talk to Stevens that is." Dakar turned to leave and then stopped, calling back over his shoulder, "You have one hour." Then he left, the door closing behind him. Erica turned to talk to Jason and Celestia who were clearly confused over what was happening. She smiled at both of them. "Take a seat," she indicated the bed. "I'm afraid the accommodation's aren't much, but they'll do." She waited for them to sit down before continuing. "Now, lets make the most of our hour shall we? I'll start, I'm Erica Kendrick."
  14. The most anticipated game I'm looking forward to is the next in the Zelda series. As for the rest, if it means buying an xbox, ps3 or the Wii... forget it. Heh. Most of them don't have enough games to interest me yet. But Zelda? The moment the Wii has that out, besides TP, I already have that for the gamecube. Anyway the moment that's out is the moment I finally buy a Wii. After all I bought the gamecube for the same reason... so I could play TWW. ^_^
  15.
When Aaryanna_Mom and I suggested that we have Kerstin figure out who Daniel was SunfallE was sure, go right ahead. Now I'm thinking that she was probably laughing secretly at how that just played right into what she had in mind. Oh the fun of being predictable! Heh.
Well I didn't laugh, but I did find it rather amusing since it fit so well with what I had in mind. ^_~ Besides being unpredictable is overrated. I don't mind it to a certain degree, but I would imagine too much would irritate people in the long run. And I'm terrible about liking things to be structured. Well again to a certain degree. I have liked all the stuff you guys have come up with. It's made it far more fun in my opinion. :catgirl:
  16.
So I bought this Lain artbook - hardback version - for 40 bucks. Mind you, to me, 40 bucks is a LOT.
Fair warning, buying art books can be addicting. lol I know. I spent close to seventy to have one I'd been looking for imported from Japan. So I guess that can be my outrageous purchase for this year. Buying that art book. Or rather books since it was the two for X Before that, probably when I got my car a few years ago. But I got it for a really good price so it doesn't feel outrageous.
  17. First of all DB, Happy Birthday! ^_~ And now for the questions... 1. Do you have any birthday traditions? Well since my birthday is in October, the first to be exact, I always do something halloweenish for it. Usually it's in the form of a funky cake. And when I was younger I always had costume parties. 2. What was your best birthday present ever? (if you say 'life' I'll slap you!) Can't say, I've had lots of nice birthdays over the year. I think on of my favorites was when my brother took me off roading on my birthday, we spend nearly seven hours traversing a very difficult trail. It was tons of fun since the spot we went to is difficult to get to unless you have four wheel drive. It was such a nice and calm autumn day that I loved every minute of it. 3. Has knowing your age ever given you a certain midnset? Did you ever feel like you'd passed a certain rung or like you had to change? Not really, I'm going to be 37 seven this year and it feels about the same as when I turned 20. About the only difference is I feel a bit more secure in where I'm going with life. 4. What was your favorite birthday? I think I already answered this with number two since my best present and day were the same. That off road trip was the best. ^_^
  18.
I love that Sandy lost patience with all of you and I love that this all stemmed from a dream. It's great that while this is an OB fanfiction it isn't intended to be -- it's not there for your friends to get a kick out of being in a story you wrote, it's there to share something that you thought of and enjoyed, which is awesome. I am enjoying just reading it, and I would love to see if the three remaining manage to get one-up on Sandy somehow, and to check out the conclusion. XD
Thanks I'm glad you've enjoyed reading it. ^_^ I love how Sandy punished us for essentially misbehaving in Survivor. As well as how it was a wacky dream. XP
Oh, I think they will. ;D It'd be so Beth for them to do that. *winks* It's refreshing to see this type of short story, where you'll know that the writer will finish it soon. I swear, there are so many great beginnings for stories in this forum that never get to the end, for some reason or another. I'm so glad that this won't be one of them. Won't it, Beth? ;P
Well ironically, the very last bit of the dream, I woke up right before it ended. So though it was heading towards a very certain ending I'm not quite sure. However, I intend to end it based on where it was going at the time. ^_~ And I think you'll get a kick out of it. lol That and it was close enough to the end that I'm fairly positive that what happens would have happened in the dream. Anyway, I've tried to keep the delay between chapters to no more than a few days, or rather long enough for me to convert thoughts into dialog since for some of the dream, I knew what people were thinking so I've been tweaking that to make it into a more readable format. And since there's only one more chapter after this, it will definately get finished.
And yes Beth that's a hint that we want to see the next chapter and soon.
I'll take that hint and present you with the next chapter. ^_~ Chapter Five: Fallen! While the police and the security continued their sweep of the mall looking for them, SunfallE, BKstyles and Aaryanna checked the section above the ceiling they were in. It was unfortunate but it was not connected to the other sections on the top floor. The ceiling above the hallways leading to stairs and elevators, like the center was open all the way up and made of glass. ?Looks like we don?t have a choice. We should get back down and hide somewhere they?ve already checked, before they come back and check the crawlspace area.? SunfallE concluded. ?Our best bet is to use the electronics store, we can climb down the shelves where the TV?s are to get to the bottom. I?d rather not go back to where we came up.? The other two looked at SunfallE and nodded their agreement, before simply following along as she lead the way back to the section that was over the electronics store. It was on the edge next to the hallway leading towards the outer wall and SunfallE was of the opinion that they could wait for the right moment and slip around the corner and simply head down the stairs. They were almost there when SunfallE missed a step in the semi darkness and placed her foot on the wrong section. Before she could do more than give out a tiny startled cry the panel gave way and she tumbled through the ceiling to the floor in the electronics store. Frantically she stood up looking around as her heart pounded, but no one was there. Breathing a sigh of relief she looked up just as BKstyles jumped down, landing next to her. ?Are you alright?? He asked. ?Yeah,? SunfallE replied with a shaky smile. ?That just scared the hell out of me, that?s all.? A moment later Aaryanna dropped down to the floor as well. After briefly checking on SunfallE and reassuring herself that she was okay, Aaryanna started heading towards the front of the store, the others following closely. As she moved to the right so they could simply sneak out and then quickly turn and head to the right down the hallway, Aaryanna paused to look at TV screen at the front of the store. The information about the Survivors clearly displayed. And for the first time the three of them finally saw just what Sandy had put a bounty on their heads for. BKstyles just shook his head, ?Hell, how could Sandy be so stupid? It?s no wonder people are shooting instead of demanding that we surrender. Did he really think anyone would listen to a live capture only for that?? All of them sighed with disgust, for Sandy had listed them as known terrorists. Regardless of the money for information or the instructions that they were to be caught alive, each of them knew that plenty of people would have no qualms about simply killing them on sight. ?I?m gonna clobber that fool when we get back,? SunfallE said with a groan. ?Couldn?t he have listed us as bank robbers or something? Hell!? The three started to move to look out the entrance to see if the coast was clear when once again the screen changed to one of Sandy along with indifference. Startled the three turned back to look. ?What do you want now idiot?? Aaryanna snapped. Sandy just rolled his eyes. ?How many times do I have to tell you to quit sticking together? Break it up people!? ?Bah!? Aaryanna growled with frustration. ?Just put a sock in it and shut up Sandy!? With a snarl of irritation she used her rod mod to zap the TV screen, shorting it out and cutting the communication. She gave SunfallE and BKstyles a quick smile and then after looking to see that it was clear she slipped around the corner and took off, followed by BKstyles and then SunfallE. They were halfway down the hallway when the screen hanging from the ceiling changed to a view of Sandy and indifference. Sandy gave out a melodramatic sigh. ?That was uncalled for Aaryanna, and since the three of you are unwilling to break it up I?m going to do it for you.? A second later an alarm and the sound of voices could be heard as the police and the security rushed for their position. At the same moment the security grate between them and the stairs began to come down. ?Two of you will make it though the other will not, I suggest you all get going.? With that Sandy once again was gone. The three looked back at the sound of footsteps to see that a group of police had found them. ?Hell!? SunfallE swore as they turned to run, she took a few steps only to swear again as she stumbled and fell, pain shooting up her ankle. BKstyles and Aaryanna turned to see what had happened just as the grate came crashing down separating them from SunfallE. With a grimace SunfallE got up and limped over to the grate, turning so her back was against it. She realized that she must have hurt her right ankle when she fell through the ceiling. ?SunfallE!? Aaryanna cried out. ?Get moving you two! I couldn?t keep up even if Sandy hadn?t closed the grate.? SunfallE sighed a bit as the police got closer and started to raise their guns, there was nowhere for her to go. And even if there was, she couldn't run. ?Are you?? BKstyles started to say. ?I?m fine.? SunfallE replied through clenched teeth, she turned to look at both of them through the grate and give them a tiny smile. ?Get going before they cut both of you off as well.? With a nod both of them turned and took off down the stairs. SunfallE turned back to see that the police had come to a halt, their weapons raised and aimed at her. She knew that it wouldn?t kill but she couldn?t help but feel afraid. Seconds later they fired as one, multiple shots hitting her, sending painful jolts of electricity through her. She dropped to her hands and knees as the police rushed her and shoved her to the ground. Then the same brilliant flash of light that she had seen take Ezekiel as she fell surrounded her, and just before she was taken back to OtakuBoards she heard the chime of the mall announcement system and Sandy?s voice. ?SunfallE has been captured.?
  19. I was watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya yesterday since I finally got around to getting the first DVD. Which is rather pointless as far as this thread goes except for the question brought up by Kyon in the beginning. Of how he never believed in Santa Clause or how later he gave up on the belief of other things like Espers or Aliens. So it got me thinking about when I finally lost some of those beliefs myself. Take Santa Clause. I know that by the time I was either seven or eight I was positive it was my parents. My belief in other things like faeries and aliens took longer to fade. Though the aliens bit probably still hangs around, I mean we do live in a pretty big universe after all so that one's not out of the question. lol As for other things like Espers? No idea, I've never really thought about that other than the idea of people having psychic powers, which I might add I've never really believed in. So how long did you believe? What ever the belief may be and do you still believe in anything along those lines? I know for me, like I said the possibility of aliens hasn't been shot down, and though I highly doubt it, I kind of do wish faeries were real. ^_~
  20. Even if you're talking about the actual player per se... I think this is better suited to the Music, Movies & TV section. *moves thread* Anyway as for my MP3 player? I have one by sony that reads regular disks that you make with a program that came with it. Each disk holds about 500 songs. Which works well since I don't even have that many songs that I like to listen to. But it's great for the classical styled music I like since I can get any several piano concertos onto one disk. I bought it because it has a locking feature so it can really take a lot of being jarred around and still play. Which was pretty important since at the time I was still working as a truck driver and Semi's do not ride very smoothly. lol Especially when the state in question has poor roads. It's taken a lot of abuse but still works beautifully. Also, a bonus, the batteries last a long time which is great. And now I mainly use it for when I'm working out on the treadmill. Nothing like some good music for when you're walking. :catgirl:

I would be melted. ...>_> *hates chocolate*
And here I was thinking you would actually like it. Don't know why though. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of candy in general, but there are a few Chocolates that I do like and that's namely light chocolate with either rice crispys or almonds in it or even peanutbutter. So I would be one that's a combination of all of that. As for a name? The Crispiest of course! Cheesy but to the point. The wrapper would of course be a nice forest green color with a darker green text on the main paper wrapped around the shiny forest green foil that was around the actual chocolate.
  22.
Is the not where I ask about the problems from myOtaku account, then? I just have two problems with a quiz I made... I can't find it anywhere and I need to make the title to be more specific on which gender the love interests were made for.
It really depends on the problem you are experiencing. As to whether you would post here or use the Contact Us form over at theOtaku. Now as for the quizzes I can help you with that question. But to do so I need more information than what you have given so far. Was the quiz in question already approved? Because if it hasn't I can tell you that currently there are no quizzes waiting for approval. If it has yet to be approved yet then you'll need to resubmit it. Keep in mind that good clear images as well as descriptions on the results with correct spelling is a must. If it was at one time approved and it's now missing... it is unfortunate, but a while ago when the site experienced issues some quizzes were lost. If your's was one of those quizzes simply resubmit it.
  23. All right, I've updated the first post with extremely brief snippets on a characters personality. Please correct me if I'm wrong and if you wish simply post here with your own description and I'll edit that in. Keep in mind that I'm terrible at writing that sort of thing up. So if I'm totally off please correct me. I've also started a list of the abbreviations that have been used so far. So everyone will have quick and easy access for looking them up. Much easier than scrolling through all the posts and hunting for a term.
  24.
On that note, I'm going to go crush Rach and eat his bones for not thinking I'm nice.
Well that will certainly convince him that you really are nice! :p If he was still alive that is. And then since he's my online hubby, once you murdered him I'd have to hunt you down and do you in! XP
  25. I think it's a given that people prefer talking face to face. I know I do. And not just because there's so much more to be gained from body language, facial expressions, tone and subtle nuances in one's voice. But because I'm social and I like being around other people. If I was stuck to other forms only I'd find it very stale and boring before long. I don't mind the phone when needed, for one thing depending on what you are doing, using a phone can be a godsend. I know when I was doing deliveries, I used my cell phone all the time. It was that handy. Now text messages are a toss up. When I was on the road I loved them since when I was driving I kept my cell phone turned off. If I won't drive while talking on a cell in a regular car, I sure as hell wasn't going to do it while driving a semi. So when I would stop for a break and turn it on since I didn't have Internet access unless I was at a truck stop that had it, I loved getting all those little text messages from my friends. I looked forward to those since they made it easier for us to stay in touch while I was on the road. Now that I no longer drive we use IM and e-mail since they are far more practical than text messaging ever was. Now as for IM, Rach already touched on it, but for semi live conversations you can't beat it. Especially when its with someone who is far away and I love it since it lets me talk to people in Australia or other countries. Internet stuff like pm, e-mail and forums are probably my second favorite over talking face to face, well tying with IM of course. It's great since unlike a regular conversation you can see what you've typed and make corrections as well as really put some thought into what you are saying. Or not I suppose, but it's great that it has that type of flexibility.
