1.
To everybody so far: From what CHw has posted in other threads, the situation doesn't fall under Texas jurisdiction: She's already told us more than she was required to, which I find very generous. The information is there guys. You just have to look for a bit.
Allamorph... It still isn't that hard to put that in the post you know. ^_~ Not everyone is going to hunt through a person's past posts to look and see if they might have posted about it before. That's kind of an unrealistic expectation to have when posting, to expect others to dig up what you've posted before. Unless it's in the same thread. And even then I know from experience that an ex can go back to court and fight to change the current custody/visitation rights. Texas law may have nothing to do with it. Her ex may have decided to challenge this to gain better rights. I have a friend who's going through that sort of mess at this very moment. So in the end, one would think CHW could have clarified just which it is. A mess up over what you highlighted from a previous thread or if he's starting a new custody/visitation dispute altogether.
  2. Uh... That link goes no where for me. :animedepr So I've no freaking clue what you intended DB since it goes to a profile and not to a video.
  3. DB! Where are you! Everyone has killed so it's time to finish it! :p That and I wanna get started on the rewards. :catgirl:

Celestia had that look about her, one that Jason was quite familiar with. A hint of tightness around the mouth a narrowing of the eyes. It was something he had come to recognize when he had first been hired to work for her so many years ago. Celestia was normally a very patient and easygoing person, but even she had her moments of irritation as well as outright anger towards what she perceived as stupidity. And being required to help with the programming to hack into the High Council's systems was in her opinion, stupid. It was something they had discussed in their quarters. She did not see the point. Because as she had said it wasn't like they were going to really get into trouble for it. Jason agreed with her, but in the end he just didn't see the point in getting upset. The Versilans had been conquering other races for over a thousand years; the mentality that they were better than others wasn't something one could get rid of so easily. Jason could easily see how in their eyes they considered their treatment of him and Celestia as more than they deserved. He could see on some level how they would expect both him and her to simply do as they were told, even if the whole thing was absurd. But for Celestia that was not so easy. Most of the team, who they had learned were top experts in their respective fields, had no issues working with her. Matt in particular was especially fascinated with everything she had done and the two of them would get chatting over stuff, leaving Jason wondering just what in the world they were talking about. But a few of them were more like Jethra had been. And though they were careful to keep their comments to a minimum, their disdain was all to easy to see. It was, at least to Jason, apparent that it wouldn't be long until Celestia ended up arguing with them. Something that as they started for the day was all too clear when one of their snide remarks resulted in Celestia muttering under her breath about telling them to do their own god damn hacking. Something that she immediately cut short when the door to the lab opened to admit James. Jason just breathed a sigh of relief that she had kept quiet. He did not want a repeat of what had happened before with Jethra. "Jason, Celestia, come with me please." Jason swore under his breath as he and Celestia followed James into a side office attached to the computer lab. Taking a seat when told. Hell, if he heard that... James just gave them a strange look and laughed a bit. "Don't look so alarmed. I know perfectly well whats going on. If not for their skills, like Jethra they would not work in the Council Center. Besides, unlike Dakar, I really don't give a damn if you don't get along. So long as the snipping and arguing is kept to a minimum that is." James pulled up some information on the display on the right wall. "More important is this. We've obtained the master access codes for ten of the council members. I want you two along with Matt to write a routine to analyze how it accesses the system. I understand that such information would make it easier to tailor the routine for bypassing the security. I intend to move the three of you to another lab to work separately on this. I'm sure that on your world you've worked with people who have an exaggerated sense of importance. If those who think so little of you two knew you had been given this part of the assignment instead of them, like Jethra who changed your calculations, they would not be above interfering. And frankly, I do not have time for that sort of nonsense. So I'd like for you two keep that to yourselves as well." He looked to both of the, waiting for them to finally nod in agreement. "Good, now that we've settled that, I'd like to clear something up. Just as I know about what's going on out there among the team, I also know that the two of you are under the mistaken assumption that those who are guilty will get away with it." James leaned forward a bit, placing his hands on the desk as if to emphasize what he was going to say next. "The punishment for what has happened is death. If any of the Council members are indeed found guilty they will not be receiving a slap on the wrist. They will be executed for their crimes." Jason didn't know who was more stunned by the news, him or Celestia. Neither one of them knew what to say, they just sat there, staring at James in disbelief. Execution? Of a High Council member? Jason found it hard to believe. "Also, regardless of what happens, the two of you will not be separated. I realize that this is something that troubles both of you and I assure you, it will not happen. Just as Crystal petitioned for better medical treatment as well as recreation days for all of the lesser races she also petitioned for the practice of allowing families to be separated to end. It is not official just yet, but it will be formally put into place once this mess is dealt with. And I understand that by your customs the two of you are tied to one another. Anyway, if either of you have questions for me, be sure to bring them up. But in the mean time," James stood up to get ready to leave. "Lets get you two and Matt over to the other computer lab." Still stunned by what James had said Jason along with Celestia simply got up and followed him back out to the other room and then to the new location along with Matt. And though Jason was glad that they would not be working with the others since they frustrated Celestia. He couldn't get James's words about families out of his mind. Was it true? That they really wouldn't separate them? Even if they were still essentially prisoners, could he really trust him? That more than anything frightened him the most. To be separated from Celestia. Part of him wanted to feel relieved but part of him could not accept it. Or rather he did not trust any of them to keep their word. He certainly hoped that it was true though.
  5. Well here are some possible bugs or things that just need to be adjusted. When you try to do a text link it doesn't give you the option to type in a word for the link: http://www.myotaku.com/ It automatically puts the link in the same spot where you would normally put a word instead. It doesn't even give you the option to enter text. Also, it seems that the filter for swearing has been applied to the Adventure Square. So now everything that had swearing, even if just a little has been replaced with **** I realized it when reading my Silver One RPG earlier. There's hardly any swearing at all but what little there is has been replaced with ***
  6.
I think I'll use Allamorph's worst death award idea just so I can vote for that one. I mean... what the hell... not even bringing up the fact that I've never heard of a cat dumb enough to get itself sat on, but... wow... yeah.
I'm assuming BKstyles forgot to include it in his post. But I got the impression that Brittany had curled up and was sleeping. Though I could be wrong. But that's the only way I can think of a cat getting sat on. I mean... *trying to not laugh* even if it was a strange death I was completely torn between outright laughter and cringing.
I love the correlation between Oromis's final moments and the mood of his picture.
You and me both. It really fit his picture. And now that we are finally down to the last death... I'm already feeling sad that it will be over soon. Well we still have the award ceremony but still. It's gonna be weird to not have a death card rpg running. Heh.
  7. All right Charles... Looks like DB is off the hook as far as banning goes. At least for this week. :p He sent me what he had done on BKstyles and I combined it with what I had. Feel free to speak up if we missed anything BKstyles. ^_~ BKStyles BKStyles (or BK for short) initially joined myOtaku on March 20, 2006. A short while later he also joined Otakuboards on April 11, 2006. BKstyles is known mostly for his excellence in posting since in no time he quickly showed an in-depth interest in many different animes by not only his responses at OtakuBoards in various threads. But by six articles he submitted to theOtaku before the article side of theOtaku was sadly retired by the site founder Adam. Though the articles are still available for reading. Articles BKstyles has never been one for starting threads but he?s quite visible in many of the anime and game threads and most recently the Adventure Square where he?s been participating in RPG?s for quite some time. BKStyles has played in some of the more successful RPG?s in the past year including Citius Altius Fortius, Otakuboards Survivor 4 (which is still running), and both the Labyrinth and Panopticon (which is also still running and is the third in what has come to be known as the ?death card? series). In addition to his excellent RPGing and writing skills, BKStyles is also an intellectual with an affinity for psychology and deep thoughts. As he put it himself:
?I'm big into writing, hoping to turn it into some kind of career as long as it's less lack-luster then the majority of writing jobs out there. I'd call myself a writer without any professional endorsements, but most of the stuff I write cept for the articles I send to theotaku are mainly for my self-enjoyment. I write fiction stories, fanfics, articles, pretty much anything I find interesting. I also specialize in persuasive writing. If I had to do anything else as a profession it would be psychology based. I've been interested in psychology and the way the human mind works and what it's capable of since high school.?
It comes as no surprise that BKStyles was officially declared nifty in the Otakuboards Nifty Fifty of 2007 with the following quote that truly explains BK in the best way possible. As Tekkaman put it for the Nifty Fifty nomination: "Because BK, with his constant planning for something new, his unblemished attitude, and funny disposition on and off the site, is a truly dedicated member of OtakuBoards. He always tries his best at whatever he posts and lets others know he's only there to help, even when the person he's helping doesn't want it. For these reasons mainly, he's truly Nifty on OB."
  8.
>_> *just wrote one on BKstyles...* I feel stupid >_
  9.
So, uh, any articles this week, or do I have to start banning people at random so that we can get an article on how Charles finally lost it and joined the ranks of notable bans? I'll start with 2007Digitalboy, so don't tempt me!
I've been working on one for BKstyles, but it's not quite finished yet. So I'm not sure if it would be done in time for this week's update. Though for sure it would be for next week since I'll have it finished either today or tomorrow.
  10. Tuna, I absolutely love Tuna. In salads, sandwiches, baked for dinner, on crackers... I just love Tuna. Almost every time I go to sub-way I walk out with a Tuna sandwich. The other thing would be dill pickles and green olives. And they just happen to go great with Tuna by the way. The other thing... I love diet Dr. Pepper.
  11. Well so far I'm loving how the color is done. The nifty little box of colors instead of the drop down menu is nice. But mostly I love the removal of the do you want a receipt for this message for pm's. You still have the option in the Miscellaneous Options under the message. But I love that it's not automatic anymore. :catgirl:
  12. Heh, the one thing that was the most annoying was for a while I couldn't highlight and select text for anything like bolding or color. But that seems to have been resolved. Besides, that's just cause I'm lazy and don't want to type in the tags. lol :catgirl:
  13. I will not be quiet. I still say ya all need to get cracking! KILL! Anyway...All right, just my thoughts on what?s been mentioned so far. Best Card ? I?d either dump it or change it to favorite card. Voting for the card we liked best would be fun since there were so many wacky ones introduced this round. Best Chapter ? Meh, not sure on this one. Though I suppose it could be interesting to see. Best Character ? How exactly? Are we thinking the one that we felt was the most unique from the get go? Or the one that got the most interesting development throughout the story? Best Overall Player ? Again I?m curious as to what we would be voting on here. Best Post ? Sounds fine to me. Best Story Writer ? Again sounds fine, though I?m assuming your talking about creativity instead of actual technical skill. Most Brutal Death - No comment needed. Most Brutal Imprisonment ? Same as above Most Controversial Character ? Though it?s a good idea I think it?s already a given as to who would get it. Most Ruthless Player ?
Taken. I kid. ^_~
Most Sympathetic Character ? I assume you mean who we felt the most sorry for? Instead of which character was the nicest? Most Wacky Death ? No comment needed Most Unexpected Death ? No comment needed Triggered The Most Imprisonments ? Go Rach! Most Unique Character ? That would be fun since there were way to many silly assassins/hunters/mercenaries in my opinion. Most Shocking Post ? There certainly were plenty of those, and it could be done for both the main thread and the underground thread as well. Most Creative Non-Death Post ? Meh, seems like that?s nearly the same as best post. Most Dramatic Post ? Seems like that would fit under most shocking as well. [strike]Cruelest and most bitchy character[/strike] ? yeah I?m with Allamorph on that one. Seems pointless and not worth rewarding in my opinion. Favorite Underground & Main thread Post ? could be interesting Most off topic comment ? I think that sort of doesn?t work since Sandy removed the main contender posted by Allamorph. That "Attention Wall mart Shoppers" :p Most Original Trap (death not required) ? That would be interesting to see. Most surprising Death ? Seems to be the same as Most unexpected death. Worst Death ? Hehe, yeah that would be interesting. Anyway?. I haven?t really thought of anything to add to that list.
  14.
Most Ruthless Player[/B']
*MINE* >_> Hehe, if not at least I have that lovely quote in my signature. :catgirl: As for awards... I'm thinking.
  15. *glares at Darren, Allamorph, BKstyles and Rachmaninoff while pulling out her Mod-Rod and other instruments of torture* [the fact that I don't have instruments of torture is irrelevant] No more speculation! Start killing! *pokes all of them* No more waiting to see if someone else manages to kill a character for you... No more declaring someone is wrong about who owns who or that their logic is faulty because... Or coming back with the statement of I know I'm right... Just do it! KILL! *powers up her Mod-Rod and takes aim*
*dies laughing* And yes I know that makes 21, so shoot me!

  16.
So, why is this important, again? Personally, I've spent much more time immersed in the story itself than I have worrying about who owns who, though I'll admit I also have my ... suspicions.
You know I have to pick on you right? ^_~ In addition to the story, half the fun is analyzing the others as to how they post, what they say in the underground thread, who they kill, etc. For me putting the clues together to make guesses as to who owns which character is every bit as much fun as the story. :catgirl: It's part of the strategy and it's extremely fun and satisfying even if all you get is just one character right. I know that process played a huge role in deciding which characters to switch with my last card. Anyway... Even if Rach and DB seem to be bouncing off the walls like hyper little kids. I assure you, I may not be posting but I feel the same way. After all the fuss and laughter, I'm pretty hyped myself to see the conclusion of this RPG. ^_~ I have to admit though, I would have loved to snag the 500th post as well. Heh.
  17.
I'm one of those people who believes in ghosts.
As heartless as it sounds...quit believing in ghosts and simply delete it like you would any other chain letter. ^_~ As for what type of person enjoys it? Usually silly kids or teenagers with too much time on their hands. Though I'm sure there are adults who fit in that category as well. Still... I've been deleting those things for a very long time. Nothing happens. lol
  18.
I think everyone's waiting to kill... Just in case they get the opportunity to decide if their character lives or dies. Frankly, I'm waiting until one of two characters die so I can kill off the other. There are two that I despise, but I'm not as good tempting others to kill them. (that, and I couldn't make both of them kill kids since that's been done and it's the only proven method I have) So it looks like I'll have to do it myself... But still, I bide my time. And to Sandy: You shouldn't make assumptions. :p
Oh I don't know about that, do you really think people would fall for the 'make them do something terrible' at this point? I know I wouldn't. lol Also... you forgot to highlight this part of what the clone card says...
Name: Clone Card Effect: this card can only be used on a character who has died in Chapter 3 of the Panopticon. This will create an exact clone of the character. The effect is the same as a life card, only the player themself has to be the one to revive their character.
I know I didn't miss that part, even though I don't have a death card to play this round. Hehe. At this point your best bet is that DB sucks at English. :p
  19.
We're getting cross-thread drama here, eh? This is kind of amusing.
Oh I agree, it is amusing. *laughs* It's making me want to poke both Sandy and Rachmaninoff since in many ways those two are a lot alike. Hehe, though I'm sure they don't think so. ^_~ Anyway... Someone needs to post! I wanna see blood!
  20.
Regardless of silly statements that so and so's was better.
>_< Yes Mom! You're right and I take it back. Sorry. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything like that. Because in the end both of them were pretty funny. I'm only sorry that White didn't include each of us in the lyrics. I would have liked to see that.
  21.
Wee! Oh wait! I'm not having fun. I forgot. Um yeah, it's up to you now Anomaly. I'm happy with the outcome for the simple reason that I'm done with that damn challenge. I know SunfallE and Kathy will understand that I'm not being bitter. But damn if that challenge didn't annoy the hell out of me and then some. That and I feel like I wasted my time. :animesigh
*laughs* Don't feel bad. ;) I understand completely. I felt the same way about my challenge since I don't like poetry and know next to nothing about it. Besides you did better than I would have. And despite what Sandy says you delivered the burn far better than White did. :p Anyway, looks like it's your turn Alexa. I think you'll do fine. I wish I could help you, but I think it's obvious why Sandy said no one could help you or KW.
  22.
Beautiful posts all around and Sunfall's trump card thrown on the table! I can't wait to see the reactions to this! And also, Sunfall, have you been watching the Roots marathon?
Hehe, I can't wait to see people's response to that card as well. :catgirl: As for the Roots Marathon, afraid not. At the moment it doesn't even ring a bell. Anyway...It's time for you to post BKstyles. It's time for the slaughter to begin. Mwahahaha!
  23. Even though she knew this was not her home, Mary couldn't help but be afraid. Before she had been given over to her new master and mistress her previous master had been horribly cruel. Demanding and vicious punishing her over any perceived mistake. Accidentally spilling water on the table, missing a spot on the floor when cleaning, nothing had been overlooked. She'd lost count of the times she had been beaten. But then to pay a debt she had been handed over to the palace and a new master. And though he was stern, both him and his wife were kind, never beating her for her mistakes. "Come back here Mary!" She yelled shrilly. "I'm not done with you yet!" Mary whimpered in fear at the sound of her mistress's footsteps coming towards the master's office. A fear that started to turn into a sob until Brittany reached up with her paw to touch Mary's face. Of course! Mary thought. I have to be quiet! I can't let that monster hurt Brittany! She took a deep breath to steady herself, after all she had stopped Katar hadn't she? Even if this horrible place had killed Lucia it didn't mean she couldn't save Brittany. Mary didn't understand it, but somehow she felt a tiny bit braver, though perhaps that was due to realizing that the mistress had moved past the office and into another part of the home. Hesitantly Mary looked around in the closet. If only she still had the pistol she had gotten from Julian! But since she had died it had been lost. Mary didn't know where it was. I wish I had that pistol! As if in answer to that thought a part of the closet wall began to shimmer and seconds later the very same pistol she had used to kill Katar appeared, hovering in the air. Mary reached out and took it. She didn't know how it appeared, she only cared that it did. "Don't worry Brittany," she whispered, reaching down to pet her, reassuring herself more than Brittany, "I won't let that fake mistress hurt you." Once again Mary could hear footsteps approaching. This time they entered the room she was in. Shaking with fear and determination she wedged herself into a corner of the closet to brace herself. Brittany was still in her apron pocket, watching the door intently, her whiskers twitching. As the footsteps came closer Mary raised the pistol, holding it with both hands to steady herself, aiming it at the door. --------------------------------- In another part of the Panopticon a trap was triggered in response to Mary's sudden frail courage. It focused on the next participant who's despair was the strongest, but nothing happened, or rather the results were not what should have happened. Delilah moaned in her sleep, not even realizing that her thought that the others had more reasons to live than her had caused the Panopticon to respond. That it had attempted to erase her existence as it had done to Nadia. Instead it rebounded on the parameters of the Panopticon that were slowly falling apart, changing the nature of how the game was structured. It searched until it found the one most altered, not in spirit but in body. When it hit Brittany let out a tiny involuntary meow, her cat senses confused as to what had just happened. Then the change complete the Panopticon concluded that the trap was done. The switch in place. It did not realize that Delilah's soul still existed or that Brittany was still a cat. Something had happened and that was all that mattered. But to those who controlled Brittany and Delilah the change was shocking. Their previous plans now in ruins. The two chosen characters will be switched without word of who they belong to. Congratulations! The owner of Brittany is now the owner of Delilah instead and whoever owns Delilah is now the proud owner of a cat! MEOW! :catgirl:

It hadn't even been a week since Erica's arrest and yet to Stevens if felt like a lifetime. The moment he had seen the nature of the information he had realized that suppressing it would be a complete and total disaster. So in spite of his own initial desire to remove it he had done what he knew had to be done. Stevens had moved to make sure the High Council didn't do something even more stupid. The damage that suppressing it and silencing Erica would have caused would have been far worse than what was happening due to the information being released and the Council arrested. Something like that if it came out would have implicated everyone and not just the few who were guilty of hiding the fact that alterations had been done. And there was no doubt of that now. Crystal had finished the first set of tests and in each case, every single Council member or their family had turned out to be unaltered compared to someone else. She wasn't done, only about a fifth of the Council and their families genetic code had been completely tested, but in just a few more weeks the rest would be done as well. Crystal was now testing the complete gene to compare it to what everyone else had. As well as looking into how to reverse the process. Stevens turned from watching the view out into space as the door to the observation room on the Conqueror opened to admit James, Zach and Dakar. Without a word all of them took a seat at the conference table even as Stevens moved to join them. "Thank you for coming," Stevens said even as he turned on the built in monitor in front of his seat and then proceeded to activate the ones in front of each one. "Before we get started I think you'll want to see the results of Crystal's first set of tests." Stevens waited patiently for them to read it, until all three looked back up in his direction. "As you can see it's true. Crystal will be testing everyone in the Council as well as their immediate families, but after seeing this I would be surprised if the rest of them are not altered." "Those fools," James growled. "You realize that this gives you grounds to use harsher interrogation methods if needed right?" "I do." Stevens confirmed. "As you already know each of the ten factions has a member on the High Council who is considered the leader of that faction. When I got Crystal's report I made a point of talking to each one of them since their personal code overrides the code of the other members of their faction." Stevens pulled up another report for each of them to see. "Two of them as you can see here finally agreed to give up their personal code for the investigation. That is, after I made it clear that failure to do so would result in them being personally interrogated by Jared." Zach shook his head in disgust, "Jared is hardly appropriate for a task like this. His methods are not acceptable for a Council member." "On the contrary," Dakar disagreed. "Jared is perfect. Even if I find his methods deplorable, he of all people would not be intimidated by the fact that the one being questioned is a member of the High Council. If anything, using him would show that we mean business." James just laughed, "Oh I agree, Jared is perfect. Especially when you consider that it was the High Council who looked the other way when Commander Alan adopted him when he was a teenager." James narrowed his eyes in anger, "If anything it's poetic justice. I have never agreed with allowing one such as Alan to get away with what he did to Jared. If Jared had not killed that fool I would have done it myself. Anyway, you said two of them surrendered their code, what about the other eight?" "I've made it clear that if they do not surrender their codes within forty eight hours that they will be transfered to a holding cell on the Creator. I'm sure you can imagine the protests I received about overstepping my authority and such." "Well I can assure you Stevens that you have my full support on this." James spoke up, the others nodded in agreement. "Good, but should they still refuse to cooperate and those who's personal data storage we have access too prove to be innocent, I want you to continue with your efforts to hack into the data vaults." Stevens insisted. "Ah yes, speaking of the teams, right now they are working on modifying a program that Celestia and Jason used to get around Grade Alpha security as well as the fleet updates. The team is using Erica's personal vault as a test for the program since we've already downloaded all the data to another location. When I checked with them this morning, the initial test showed that they've already figured out how to get around the first couple of security layers." James shook his head, biting his lower lip a bit. "Make no mistake though, even though that sounds promising, it could still take them weeks if not months to eventually get around everything without triggering the program for erasing the data altogether. And even then, they may never figure it out. Now that you have cause to use stricter methods, getting the code from the faction leaders would probably be quicker." James leaned back a bit. "I still intend to have them working on getting around it though." "Agreed," Stevens replied. "Now if there's nothing else we need to go over the problems occurring in other sectors. Right now sectors two, three, four, eight, nine, ten, eleven and twelve are experiencing riots as well as food shortages due to the disruption in shipping. It is my intent to move to declare the next level of martial law and bring in the next level of reserves. This needs to be done before we release the information to the news that the accusation of the people being altered is true." The other three looked at Stevens and then finally nodded in agreement. "Good, now that that's settled lets get to work gentlemen." Stevens pulled up the reports on the chaos going on in the other sectors as well as the necessary information for moving to the next stage of martial law. 25. Oh I agree. ^_~ Fayt is definitely cute with
wings
I've currently got that set as my main move since as well as being pretty it does quite a bit of damage. I also liked the side kick move as well, though it's not currently set for Fayt to use. Anyway...I finally beat the final boss in the caves and now I'm working through the remaining levels in the sealed sphere area. I'm in the 150's and my main three characters are all about level 200. It's almost mind blowing at how much experience I'm earning in battle. Even if I don't have a bonus gauge going for triple experience. It's also interesting how some monsters die so easily and others really clobber you even with your enhanced weapons/defense. Not to mention it's reached the point where customizing has become very, very expensive! It's going to take me a while to finish getting to the top and then getting enough money to prep everyone for the last main bosses. o_O The guide is indicating that one of them is going to be a real pain in the butt to kill, even if you're fully prepared. Still I can't complain. It is fun. I love games that have lots of fun after quests besides the main story. :catgirl: Which reminds me, I still haven't put much time or energy into the battle arena, the rabbit races or the runic chess! I need to go back and take a whack at those!
