Bailout Also, the money isn't completely spent yet, unless this site is completely wrong here: Current Bailout there is about 450 billion that hasn't even been committed to something yet. So though seeing companies like Bank of America engaging in wasteful spending is extremely annoying, the bailout is far from over and it's way too soon to say it failed. Don't get me wrong though, I do think some of them should have been allowed to fail. That usually is the penalty for bad business tactics after all.
 2. That's the wonderful irony about it Vicky, they're no different than those they would discriminate against. Anyway, I find groups like that rather pathetic. And if they're blaming the economy and our current president, then all they're doing is finding yet another excuse to be painfully stupid. And I do mean anyone who would blame that for the increase as well. An excuse, no matter how it's dressed up, is still an excuse.

So based on that, I'm going to shut the thread down, since it's indirectly helping the distribution of copyrighted materials, something we don't allow here. Don't let that discourage you from checking out the other things we have to offer here though, and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to drop either myself or any staff member a pm. 4. Oh right, I recall reading about this. Honestly, who do they think they are fooling? Like Darren said, they want to waste millions of dollars on a new name and logo for one of the cities in his area and yet they see nothing wrong with that? The tax is anything but fair and they need to learn how to stop wasting money instead of looking for new things to tax. I see that on any ballot here and I will most definitely vote against it, I just hope we have a choice in the matter. I may not be a student anymore, but that's completely and totally absurd.
 5. Well it would seem rather odd to me, to bring guns to church. Though responsible gun ownership is a good idea, I just don't associate gun with religion. Though I know some do. So I think I'll just shrug and go oh well? I don't really care one way or the other.

The only time I've been out of my mind was after surgery a few times when I was loaded up on pain meds. I didn't have access to the Internet at the time. It's probably just as well since I understand, from friends and family, that I swear like a pirate when I'm loopy on pain meds. lol

 8.
I'm really not one that's bothered by the heat, but I always find myself stocking up on country time.
I don't mind heat either, however I absoutely hate being cold so I love summer since stuff that's cold, doesn't bother me like it normally would. I avoid things that cool you down during the winter. lol Anyway, I like making frozen juice pops and cutting up different stuff like watermelon and catelope to have as a snack later. I'll also add ice to my soda, the rest of the year I don't since I can't stand the cold. It's also the time when I love making lemonade and chilling it. And though it doesn't cool you down, I love outdoor cooking, which goes really well with homemade ice cream and other frozen treats.
 9.
Guess what, guys? We've got ourselves some Pro-Life terrorists here in the States. Ain't that swell? Makes me sick.
I know the feeling. And hearing some of the people I know who are very anti abortion say he got what he deserved, just makes me want to smack them. Anyway, I would welcome a ban on abortions done that late, but I can't and won't welcome using those kind of methods to stop it. I feel sorry for his surviving family.
 10. I'm torn. I'd prefer something calm like Animal Crossing, but if I really had to be in a game... I'd want something with space travel, like Star Ocean. So I guess I can't win since I want both. =P
 11. Can't say that I have actually cried over a game. I have felt moved by a death in a game, but not to the point of tears. Usually, I'm annoyed, especially if it was one of my favorite characters. And sometimes, I'm thinking, good riddance.

 13. I suppose you could consider it a way of owning someone. But I still associate it with giving someone a link to that song instead of what they were supposed to get. As for other's links in this thread being any better, wouldn't know, didn't click any of em. =P
 14.
Oh, it's not new. 16. Well I've seen it and I'm of two minds about it. I'll start with what felt off. Biggest thing was Nero. He was completely and totally underwhelming. Second part was...
since when was a mining ship, regardless of being from the future, powerful enough to wipe out entire fleets?
That just didn't sit well with me during the entire movie. Especially since what
mining ship is that heavily armed?
I'm sure someone can justify it, but that was the one thing in the movie that struck me as being dumber than hell. =P Putting that aside, I did enjoy it. Enough that I wouldn't mind getting the DVD when it finally comes out. I enjoyed how Kirk was more angsty/arrogant vs. the getting the woman deal they've often done in the past. I like how it matched with his figuring things out. I also enjoyed how the cast choices had certain aspects about their predecessors to make them recognizable and yet didn't attempt to simply copy them. It made them recognizable and yet unique enough that they were fun to watch. Like Chekov and his
speech making it hard for the computer to recognize him, and Sulu with the fencing.
The actors who played Scotty and McCoy were fun too. Like a few others, Uhura just didn't click. I know it sounds shallow, but I don't like the slinky tall model look. I do think she did a good job playing her so if they do more, we'll see. =P Spock was good and I'll overlook the
relationship deal since they did skip what happened to lead up to it.
It was amusing how she kept
Kirk at a distance and wouldn't even tell him her first name.
The retro ship design with the glaring lights for the bridge and the industrial setting for other parts of the ship was spot on. I also liked how they let you see more of the rest of the crew in action. it made the ship seem more real in my opinion. As for the
alternate time line...
I can see why they went that route since it leaves things open for them to do more and it makes comparing it to the original kind of pointless along those lines. I just hope they do like they did with this movie and keep putting more into it.
 17. Tuna salad on wheat; with lettuce, green peppers, pickles and mustard with a dash of pepper sprinkled on for taste. I never get tired of that kind of sandwich. So tasty.
 18. I'm not sure if I even care that they might choose that word. o_O Watching the people I know who got their degree in English is amusing though. Some of them see it as a simple sign of how our language is changing, where others think it sucks.
 19. Oh wow. o_O I never used the service, but I often found interesting stuff on the sites people would make with it. It's too bad that they're not offering any form of free service to replace it. Though since there are others out there, I suppose that's kind of irrelevant.
 20. I still think this case is sad. I can understand kids not having unfair punishments, but the story given simply does not add up. What little there is to read, doesn't really clarify why the courts even considered and accepted the case to begin with. I'd like to know the full details before I say one way or the other. But if what I see is the facts, it's really sad that something so trivial was allowed to come between them. Cracks in the relationship indeed.
 21.
I detest bagels. Eating one of those abominations is like chewing on boot leather. Anyway, if I eat before noon, I usually feel sick to my stomach until lunch.
You have to get the right kind. We have a local bakery here that makes them. Their fresh bagels are really good. Nothing like the sad bland store stuff. The blueberry ones they make are really good.
 22. The cold kept Elaine from feeling truly rested when they got up the next morning. She did manage to sleep some, but it kept waking her up during the night and worrying over the others made it hard to fall back asleep when that happened. It didn?t stop her from insisting that they provide some form of burial for the fallen guards that they had found when they got up. As much as she wanted to hurry and find the others first, she couldn?t leave without seeing to their spiritual needs first. It didn?t take them long and before she knew it, they were well into the odd valley. The vegetation was lush and overgrown, making their progress difficult since they had to either cut their way through or backtrack to find a new route when the undergrowth became too thick. They all removed their long coats and packed them up on the chimeras within a very short time of entering the valley. It was too hot otherwise. The odd sounds of animals living in the valley made them cautious but most of them that they caught a glimpse of seemed more interested in avoiding them. It was still amazing to see so many wandering about and the bright colorful birds were a bit startling. It was easy to forget that they were really on the Vosper summit instead of on some tropical island. They made for what looked like, according to the map, the location where the two had fallen. Elaine couldn?t help but feel worried that they had seen no sign of them yet. She could only hope that they weren?t dead. She didn?t want to have to deal with more bodies. Elaine found herself shivering slightly, in spite of the oppressive heat. Jace came to a halt when they were near the cliff; he motioned for Gerald to wait while he checked ahead. Sensing that they were about to find out what had happened, Elaine dismounted from her chimera and followed along, leaving the chimera with Gerald. She pushed aside a thick set of leaves and stepped into an area where the vegetation had been damaged. There was no sign of any bodies and there were bits of broken equipment that had been left behind on the ground. ?Take a look at that.? Jace said. Elaine followed Jace?s arm to where he was pointing up from where he was kneeling on the ground, checking something. There was a hole in the canopy of leaves. It was obvious that much of it had been broken off recently by something heavy falling through. ?It looks like the trees broke their fall and there is quite a bit of moss on the ground, which would have cushioned the impact when they landed.? Elaine looked back down to see what looked like flattened vegetation. Jace grinned in her direction as he stood back up, clearly excited to find that they had survived the fall. ?I don?t think they were seriously hurt since they were able to head off in that direction.? He pointed to where another break in the vegetation could be seen. She offered a quiet prayer of gratitude in her heart before responding to Jace. ?How long until we can catch up?? ?Their footsteps indicate that they were able to move around fine.? He finished checking the bits of equipment that had been left behind. ?All we have to do is follow their trail.? Elaine nodded. ?Let?s get going then.? She turned to head back to where Gerald was keeping an eye on the chimeras. Once they found them, they could retrieve the artifact and finally leave.
 23. Get The Balance Right Lucia didn?t have enough time between assignments to go with the others, but that didn?t mean she couldn?t take care of some of the testing she wanted to do. They couldn?t ghost through the blades the vampires would use, but that didn?t mean they couldn?t be blocked. The only question in her mind was to find the most effective manner of doing so. She didn?t know how to cast wards like Phaidra or Sarvel and she lacked the combat training that the others had received. However, she was of the opinion that relying on better training wasn?t the answer. She needed something now and the only thing she could think of would be to improve her defense, making it harder to even get stabbed in the first place. At first she ran her mind over the idea of some type of body armor but dismissed it almost immediately. It just wasn?t practical. Lucia needed something that she would always have with her, no matter what. To always run around in some sort of armor would be highly impractical and in all honesty, most of what she could look into wouldn?t be worth using. It wouldn?t be strong enough to protect against the strength of a vampire. That made the answer simpler; it had to be something that she could use her own spiritual energy to enhance. But to do that, the material in question would have to be spiritually receptive. The only thing she knew of that was durable and would reliably hold the energy was the crystal her communicator was made of. It was why she had chosen it. So with that in mind, she had gathered up some of the material and looked for a way to either turn it into cloth or to distill it into a solution that could simply be applied to existing clothing. In the end, she had to settle for simply soaking some cloth in a solution she made from the crystal material. She didn?t have the necessary equipment to weave clothing anyway. It wasn?t too hard since the humans had been doing things like that for centuries. Lucia had just used her programs to search for the easiest method that she could actually do herself. Once she got that figured out, she could look into improving it. If it worked that is. If it didn?t, there wouldn?t be a point in continuing. ?You?re ready for the first test?? Ruby asked her from where she was sitting on the desk. Lucia didn?t bother to turn around and continued hanging up the squares of material on the wall. ?I am.? She said simply. The first one was just the normal material her tunic was made from. The second one was a section that had been soaked in the crystal solution. The third was the same thing, only this one, she took a moment to run her spiritual energy through it. It made the material feel slightly stiff, but that was all. She walked back over to the computer and picked up the dirks she had kept for testing, pausing only long enough to make sure her scanner was running before she turned and hurled the first dirk into the first square. It went right through the material without a fuss, the same with the second one. Lucia frowned slightly as she retrieved the two dirks. She had hoped that just the solution alone would help but even if it had, the blade had gone through it too easily. That only left the last one. If the spiritual charge didn?t help, she?d have to start over. She checked it to make sure the charge was still holding and then once she was back to the other side of the room, she threw the dirk.
 24. I'm currently playing this, I'm about twenty hours into the game. I rather like Estelle since like you said, her naivety is actually refreshing for a change. Instead of being annoying like other characters like that are. If there is a character I don't like very well, it would be Karol, he's just a little too whiny for my tastes so I find myself wanting to toss him out of my party. Though the moments when Rita
fights with him are amusing.
The thing I like the most is how the further you get along, the more the options for battle open up. The characters can move freely around the battlefield to combat their enemies in real-time, which is a plus. I also like how the overlimit can be used by four characters at the same time or a single one for more powerful effects. Fatal strikes are great fun too. I'm not too impressed with the story, but the sheer beauty of the graphics and battle aspects more than make up for it. The game is just downright pretty. :catgirl:
 25. I have trouble with low blood sugar, so I never skip breakfast. Otherwise, I get sick, literally. However I pretty much never eat breakfast food since it just makes me sick. I have a type of protein shake that I have since it gives me the boost I need for my blood sugar levels. It's not the most exciting stuff but it works really well, heh.
