I'll go with a more recent game. The Castlevania game for DS. I hate the (brown) Medusa Heads... They float around in that classic "sine wave" shaped path...Then when they touch you, you turn to stone until you mash all your buttons totalling 50 times. This is okay in some situations, but they insist on spawning in mass numbers, re-freezing you, and being near spikes or moving platforms that drag you into spikes. Oh, and you take a constant 1/5 of your max health in damage from spikes.

Freeloader will not play bootlegged games. You still have to pick the country the game was from, and load it through that menu. If you've got a bootleg, it won't work. Technically, if it can't play bootlegs, what's the problem with playing an Import game? I've got a Japanese Nintendo Nitro (DS) and it's 100% region-free because it was 'hot off the line'. No region-chip. It's not like i can play bootlegs! :animeswea

I just remembered. Cobb, the zombie-pig in my AC town had a super-toilet. It looks like a supercomputer with a bowl. Lol. I'm just angered that they got rid of the NES games. On to the gold! This is a fun one. First you need a golden shovel. Cake if you've got two shovels. See, the trick here is to bury the second shovel. ...that's it. Since there are no golden spots or anything anymore, bury the shovel for 24 hours, anywhere..dig it up, and it'll say "woohoo! i found the golden shovel!" or something stupid. With the golden shovel, you can bury money bags in any denomination, and it'll grow a tree. So far, what i've seen is that they look exactly like normal trees, and give three bags in the planted denomination after 7 days of being fully-grown. I made a full-on 180 grand this way. (three 60K bags). The "plant in a hole you dug a weed out of" rule works. I planted two 500-bell bags next to each other (1 hole spread, to ensure growth), one over a weed-spot, and another in regular soil. the one on the weed grew, and the other withered after 4 days. Has anyone else noticed that it's wicked-easy to make money in this game compared to AC?
-
"Super Toilet"? that sounds new... **intrigued**. I've got coconuts, Oranges, Apples, and Cherries... Also I have two money trees, but I can't remember if they bear "fruit" more than once... Do they? o.0? Oh, also...Lik-Sang sucks, unless it's super third-party stuff. "the Dragon, Inc. GCN Fan". I'd say Play-Asia.com they've got nifty stuff.
-
Actually, it depends on the AR. Most of what i've seen come with a program called "freeloader" which will let you play region-free on your system for that session. do your homework first, though. In my personal experience, i've seen about a 70% occurence of AR & "F-L".

Gaming surely i can't be the only timesplitters fan out there?
Final Remix replied to celoctopus's topic in Noosphere
Picture this: A 64mB Gamecube USB card devoted entirely to mapmaker maps for Future Perfect. What a beautiful sight that is... :animeknow I mean...uhh. What's Timesplitters? Quick favorite multiplayer character! Lenny Oldbourne! -
I hate that they shrunk a few of the AOE's and ranges and stuff... G.M. does require that they're shoulder-to-shoulder now, and Chain Lightning used to be able to arc through a group....Now they hafta be within sword's-range of each other. grrrrr oh yeah...by the way http://www.thegamespage.com/staff/remix/QKT%20-%20Wish.jpg
Here's the problem with your strategy. Glimmering Mark is a hex spell that you put on a foe, rather than an enchantment that you put on yourself, if I'm not mistaken. So you can only cause the blindness by hitting the foe who you put Glimmering Mark on. Hitting others wouldn't do anything unless you put Glimmering Mark on them, also -- in which case you run into the recharge time on Glimmering Mark.
Thank you. Although the ammt. of effect time outweighs the recharge if i'm not mistaken. 8 recharge vs. 15 seconds of "GM" which does 3-second blind every hit.

What I believe Alec could do is use his Lightning Wand, with Glimmering Mark activated, and simply Tab through his targets, hitting the Warriors once each. Tabbing and then Shift-Tabbing would work really well there, since you'd only be switching around a few targets.
Sorry to burst yer bubble, dude. Glimmering Mark only affects the one first guy. I hit someone with it, then start spamming lightning damage on that target. G.M. will blind him and anyone around automatically. And after their new "blanacing" tweaks, i've noticed that the G.M. AoE is a lot smaller.....so it'd really only be good in PvE now.:animedepr

My first game was Pong. I was like?2 or something when I learned to play it. Only joystick, no other controls. Easiest game ever. It was my mom?s system, as she was a gamer back in the day of the Atari and Coleco. I used to play E.T. I had no idea it was such a horrifically bad game. I always just thought it was hard. My all-time favorite games are Journey to Silius ? Avenge and investigate your father?s death in a post-apocolyptic world. River City Ransom ? What?s cooler than fighting your way through an entire city of truants to rescure yer girlfriend? Sonic the Hedgehog (anything) ? It?s Sonic and Final Fantasy VIII ? An amazing RPG. Love story, interesting control scheme. Stats can be augmented and dropped in the blink of an eye. Nowadays, when I purchase a game. I play the hell out of it for the first day. If I manage to beat it in that day, I usually put it in the back of my gaming binder. One of the most mediocre games I?ve ever played, Minority Report (GCN), got me interested again. I thought to myself: ?I need a good brawler with limited controls to remember, and a decent soundtrack on at least one level.? I loaded up the ?Brawl in the sprawl? level, turned on my unlocked guns cheat, and went to town. Games get me interested on and off. It depends on what mood I?m in. Given the crappy trade-in price at game stores around here, I?ve kept even the worst of games. (the ever-glitchy Reign of Fire anyone?) To keep stuff interesting, I usually also start on the hardest available difficulty and gauge myself from there. I don?t give up on a game when I can?t beat a level. I usually save and quit a game right after beating said level. Games still get me excited. I walk into the local gamestop and ask what decent games are coming out, and what they all think about ?em. I usually put 5 bucks down on a game here or there. I waited on Killer7 and Zelda since they were slated for release of a press packet. It just depends on the game and company providing it, to determine what I?m looking for in a game.

This game struck me as a keeper when it was slated years ago. I'd had it on hold since then at Gamestop. The first news i heard was that you take on the role of seven hitmen and depending on the character at the moment, the game is percieved differently. (stances, enemy appearances, etc.) The soundtrack is inventive, and fits each scene perfectly. ("Rave On", in the Gatekeeper hallway anyone? (~_^) ) The VAs were amazing, despite the critical-hit quotes. The enemies are repetetive, but the sub-species of Smiles keep you guessing, and trying to remember close-range battle tactics. Speaking of the battle system, the different characters' stances are the coolest i've seen in awhile. Coyote's upside down revolver is my favorite. If you like anime, pick this one up, at least give it a rent. It's got a story that will leave you confused, gunfights that're fun, and a look that's not quite cel-shaded. :animeknow

The thread starter obviously has never been to the Jersey Shore. 'nuff said.
**holds up Dave&Buster card worth more than 500$ in tickets/credits and the like** That's the ultimate place to go. They have the good old House of the Dead1, and Tokyo Xtreme Racer. The bowling alley near me (jersey..so it's 20 minutes drive) has DDR in a back room. Now, granted you may say "back room, wtf?" but the thing you gotta think about is that they have the speakers turned all the way up. It's a beautiful thing. They even have the Simpson's Arcade Game, and Ms. Pac Man. There's supposedly one at a not-so-local mall (hour-and-20 drive) that is the same, but has no high scores set as of yet on the DDR machine(the mall's dead, but the machine's pristine). Arcades are definitely dwindling, but if you look, you can find a few that're in perfect working order. So how's that for a slice of fried gold? :animesmil @ Syk3 : My town sucks about what gets picked, too. There's one good thing about that, though. Rapid-succession clearance/liquidation sales of things. Also, near where I work at a semi-local mall, there's a Gamestop in the mall, one across the street in a strip-mall, and another one block away. The reason for this is that technically, they're in three separate towns, right on the borders. It's fun in this area. According to the township, the road I've lived on all my life has never existed. :animeswea

I started out as an Elementalist/Mesmer. I've always liked being able to summon lightning, and blitzkrieg wind spells. Mesmer abilities also let you interrupt, and spike* other players. *"spike", in this context means that when someone casts a spell, that spell fails miserably, and that character takes a chunk-o'-damage. I.E. as a 'consequence' I place on him. My second character is a Ranger/Necromancer. That's gonna be fun. And my character after that's gonna have a Necro. primary of some sort. It's really all about playing style, as all have said. If you like the hack-'n-slash, go Warrior. Spells, pick one of any 4 mage classes. There's no Jack-Of-All-Trades in this game. You need a good team to suppliment your own strengths, and fill-in others' weaknesses. An Aeromancer's not gonna have those high-fire skills, but a Pyromancer won't be able to cast Lightning on someone, around a huge Redwood. At the same time, someone geared toward attacking and "nuking" skills won't have the slots open for healing stuff (if they're even available).

this game ridiculously rules, doesn't it? my log shows i've played like....32 hours out of the past 4 days. It's beautiful. Even after a major turning point, muahahaahah.. Anyway, keep playin. I'll add you to my Friends list. I'm an Elementalist/Mesmer, and right now I'm level 12. When you catch up, i'll help you with stuff. Until then, have fun!

Just got Guild Wars (simply from looking at those screenies.) It's fun. I'm level 9, post-searing. I suck horribly. I'm an Ele./Mes. I've red hair, ponytail, name's Immortalis Ymber. Talys for short. (long story.) Feel free to add me, or whatever it is you do. I'm almost only playing with those level3 mercenary bot thingies they provide you with. I'm now on almost all the time that I'm not at work, or rennovating. Adios, all!

Gaming The hardest game task you've accomplished
Final Remix replied to Sir Auron's topic in Noosphere
double-teaming PSO with two new characters at once. Both hands, and both feet. Needless to say, I didn't do a lot of R+button combo's, but I got two characters leveled up at once. Mucho fun, Mucho hard. Another one was beating Deadbeard on Golden Sun. That was a pain... -
IMHO, this is a pretty good idea. Since when was it easy to play Dawn Of Souls in Boscov's? I mean, C'mon. I'd love to have a much smaller GBA on-hand, so instead of quickly flipping out the light, and snapping the lid shut on the SP, I can stick the GBAM in my shirt pocket that much faster when a department manager walks past. kudos to nintendo. :animesmil

Sweet Crispy Jeff! That's him! Thanks guys! I gotta go re-watch Trust&Betrayal again... I dunno how I missed him :animeswea . Anyway, thanks for all your help! I'm gonna put my order through for Reflection now. I had an inkling, but I wanted to make sure. Actually, it was the movie that got me hooked to this anime. Gotta love AnimeNetwork on the comcast TV download thing! :animesmil

Disclaimer: This is a myopic rambling and search for information, so forgive me if it's already been explained / threaded, etc. Anyway!: I remember back in the good old days of KazZaaArada, or whatever, I downloaded a 10 minute music video/clip montage from something listed as "Rurouni Kenshin Seisouhuken". It had a title-fade and everything. I remember there being this mansion on an island, and Kenshin fighting this crazy guy in glasses (I think he wore glasses), anyway it was all amazing and such, and I was wondering if this actually exists. I remember it was listed as an OAV montage, but the only OAV i know of is Trust/Betrayal (which I own). After searching online, I think the man fighting opposite Kenshin was known as "Enishi"? Any info is appreciated. And again, I apologize if this was already asked/explained or is just a ridiculous question I should already know the answer to. I just wanted to make sure of what it was before shelling out the dough for the DVD(s)
