Personally, I think everything is fine. The only things I can complain about are the colours (we need a red skin!!11!11 ^^) and the square-ness of everything (don't ask what I mean, I'm not sure I know myself oO).. apart from that everything is just fine. I don't think it's squiged, mashed, smooshed or whatever, but that's probably because I'm running at 1280 x 1024. ^^;; I'll get used to everything else. Nice work James and everyone else who helped. ^_^

I also think that Final Fantasy VII's battle system is very good - simple and easy to follow. FFX's was okay, I liked the way that no one actually gained "levels" but got stronger in different aspects. The sphere grid was awesome. As you can tell, I'm not very informed in the RPG department ^^''

I must admit, the graphics do look very impressive. This could be the only RE game that I buy, not being a fan of any earlier games (too scary for easily scared Weh >

Rasanak hated late nights at the mines. You never know what's going to come out of the darkness in front of you. The owners of the mine, Shinra, left at about six in the evening, turning off all of the lights in the mine. Unfair, yes, but Shinra did not want to waste its precious power on worthless miners. Slummers. The enforcers (Shinra guards) stayed at the mine, making sure the miners did not leave until ten, the time they could then make their way home. There were about two-hundered of them looking after about 1000, ill-equipped miners. Revolt was out of the question, every enforcer had a sub-machine gun and grenades and they could slaughter every single miner with ease if they wanted to. Tonight was particularly bad because they were mining their way into an underground lake, used by Shinra to dump past waste into. But, now that Mako Power was being used to generate the city's electricity, the lake was sealed off for a long time. Tonight the miners drilled through the thick stone wall dividing their mining tunnel and the toxic lake on the other side. Rasanak, along with his team of miners, was one of the first to enter this large cavernous expanse. At first, an indescribeable smell hit them, making everyone cough and gag for air. Rasanak even saw one young teenager vomit over the floor. This was no normal gas that everyone was inhaling now, it was most probably toxic and it would proabably kill some of the less-hardened miners, but Shinra didn't care. The rock that now surrounded Rasanak as he wandered around the cave was stained a rainbow-like colour with a green tinge. Years of eutrophication in the lake had led to some kind of build up of malignant toxins in the air that had made even the walls dangerous to touch with bare hands. As he approached the dark green coloured lake, illuminated by dim miners' torches, he noticed a few bubbles surfacing in the centre of the lake. He was not sure if anyone had seen this, but he dismissed it as a rogue bubble coming up from the bed of the lake. His team followed. Suddenly he thought, nothing could live in a lake polluted with a complex mix of toxic chemicals. Nothing that needs to live and breathe like a mammal anyway, whatever had made that bubble was not human and it was definately not a fish. But, strangely to his dismay, the lake's surface remained still and stagnant. The teenager who had vomited earlier wandered close to the water's edge. It seemed calm, the glossy surface reflecting the boy's greasy face like a green mirror. He carelessly kicked a rock into the fetid pool making a quiet splash that resounded sonorously around the cathedral-like cavern. A set of bubbles hit the surface of the lake, sending small ripples in all directions. A dark shadow glided under the water swiftly towards the boy. He did notice the dark patch in the water until it grew in size. It grew and erupted from the lake, sending toxic liquids flying everywhere. Rasanak turned his head to see the tumult: a gigantean, dragon-like head staring angrily at the boy. It reared back and let a screech ring through the caverns and caves of the whole mine. Even the guards outside heard it. In a split second the boy was in the beast's jaws, writhing and screaming loudly. The miners stood, motionless at this horrific sight as the monster dropped the boy into toxicated lake, which produced an acidic hiss of a noise. Rasanak: Holy fuck.. By now, the guards had noticed the commotion and they were running to now, telling everyone to evacuate the mines. As the miners ran, they heard shots, screeching, and shouting as the guards attempted to dispatch the beast. Anything in their way is worth getting rid of. Anything. Soon Rasanak, his team and a load of other miners reached the entrance to the mines. Two enforcers stood blocking the way, the huge metal door locked by a button they both stood in front of. Guard 1: We're not letting you go, it's not time for you to go yet. Guard 2: Get back to work, now! Miner: There's a monster! Miner: Killed a miner! Miner: The other guards-- Guard 2: A likely story, now get the fuck back to work now before we have to use some physical force. Both guards brought attention to the fact that they had guns and miners didn't by cocking them loudly. The crowd seemed to quieten down a little, but Rasanak wanted to go. He wanted all of the miners to be allowed to go. What was happening now was rare occurance, one that had never happened in this mine, but in others. Rasanak had heard that none of the miners were allowed to go and they were killed by a number of monsters that invaded the mine through a tunnel that led from an undiscovered dumping ground. Rasanak: Let us go, or we'll all die; even you! Guard 1: We have orders. And they ar-- Rasanak had had enough, he had already taken out one of his hefty hammers and swung it hard into the first, taller guard's face, sending blood and bits of nose everywhere. This guard stumbled back, crying out in pain. The other guard seemed to be slower and had only just brought his gun up to Rasanak when he brought his hammer crashing down into his skull, killing him instantly. The corpse slumped against the wall, bleeding profusely. Suddenly Rasanak heard another cry of pain and spun round to see another miner stooped over the first guard. He apparently was about to shoot Rasanak, but the miner had fixed that with a sledgehammer. Rasanak winced at the sight before him, before hurridly muttering thank you to the miner. Seeing nothing else to do in the mine, ever again, he put the hammer back in its holder on his leg. Thinking out a brief plan, he took the shorter guard's gun from the floor and put it over his right shoulder and across his chest with the strap. He hit the door-open button with an angry, clenched fist and turned to the miners whilst the heavy, titanium door completed its mechanical whirrs and lifted, showing them all freedom. With an "are-you-with-me" sort of smirk, he turned quickly and ran out in the direction of his house. It took the other miners a few seconds to make their decision, and soon the heavy thud of mining boots filled Sector 2.

It was another Skyday in Grillin Village. Raso sat bored in his room; no one came out on Skyday, he felt as if he was the only one who should go out today. Like he needed to. Today, there was just something different in the air, something fresh and new that made it not just "another-boring-Skyday". As he pondered why this so, his ears picked up some birds singing in the distance. He exhaled sharply, bemused by why birds would not be roosting all day, like they do every Skyday. This was a very puzzling day. Only this morning when he went downstairs to take over from his mother in the Inn the lounge area for customers was completely deserted, like it should be. However today there was a strange man in a hooded, brown robe sitting on his own at a table in the corner. Raso had seen this shady character almost every day in the lounge in the past few weeks, but never on a Skyday. This event, to him, seemed suspicious, so he went over to the hooded character and asked him if he needed anything. All he said he wanted was a glass of water, so Raso got it for him and the man paid up, along with a handsome tip. Confused, Raso took the money behind the counter and stood, puzzled at the man wearing the robe. He drank his water quickly as if he were dying of thirst, sat for about ten minutes more and then hastily walked out, without even a "good day". Strange. Raso had finished pondering over the strange man this Skyday brought into the Inn as he stood up to look out of the window. He could have sworn that the sky was darker about a two hours ago, but now it seemed to be brightening up again. He turned his head and looked at the clock ticking slowly on his wall, it was about three minutes past twelve. He exclaimed quietly to himself in a hushed whisper. Raso: It was three minutes past twelve like, three hours ago! Worried that there could be something wrong with his head, he walked to the door of his room. As he opened it, he expected a very loud creak, as the Inn was very old, but Raso was suprised when there was no creak at all. He swang the door back and forth quickly, hoping for a creak, but one never came. Rubbing a palm across his face in disbelief he walked quietly out his bedroom to the door of his mother's room. She would always goes back to sleep on a Skyday after her early-ish morning shift, but when Raso opened her door and walked in, she was sat on her bed reading a book. She looked up and smiled at him. Mother: Hi Raso, are you done downstairs, because I'm ready to go back down there if you're done. Raso: Yeah, I'm all done, but there would be no point in you going down there. The place is like a graveyard. Deserted completely, like any other Skyday. Mother: Okay. What did you want anyway? You're normally downstairs until dinner-time. Raso: I just wanted to know the time. Mother: What's wrong with the clock in your room? Raso: I think it's broken... His mother tutted, rolled her eyes and looked at the clock next to her shelf full of books. Mother: It's about five or six minutes past three. Wh- Raso: Right.. thanks. Raso then walked faster down the hall back to the door of his room and opened it again. Still no creak. He stood and gazed at his clock; the time did read 3:06, the birds continued to sing a cheerful song, and Raso felt insane. But at the same time he knew there was something going on today ever since he served that weird guy downstairs he had been feeling something not unlike de ja vu all day. He started to feel hot so he left his room to go downstairs and pour himself a glass of water. Maybe that would refresh his mind so that he could think straight and try to figure out what's going on. He poured a glass of water from the jug in the kitchen and took a sip from the glass. Nothing changed, his throat felt cold, but other than that he remained confused. It was only when he walked out past the counter and sat in one of the comfy armchairs in the lounge that he suddenly noticed an orange-haired kid had just walked in and was looking at him for assistance. Raso jumped slightly, set the glass down upon the low table in front of him and stood up to greet the kid. This strange Skyday finally had a meaning. -

Piro - You said I could sign up, so I hope it's not too late! ^_^; ____________ Name: Raso Aramai Age: 19 Class: Soldier Description: Like that I guess, but with a red tunic instead. Bio: Raso is the son of a Knight of the Allucaneet Army who disappeared into the Somnolent Forest about ten years ago along with a lot of other Knights and never returned. His mother owns the Grillin Village Inn, so the family are quite well known around Grillin Village. Ever since his father became a part of the Allucaneet Army, Raso was about nine-years-old and decided that he wanted to be a fighter like his father. He practiced up in his room in the Inn with dummies made from straw and a wooden sword he made for himself, the sword techniques came to him naturally. From these humble beginnings of training emerged a fighting spirit rarely found in anyone from the Allucaneet Kingdom in these dark times. On his thirteenth birthday his mother gave him a double-edged sword, as she knew how much it would mean to him that he actually had a real sword. From this age up until today he has been visiting the parts of Somnolent Forest near the village, so he wouldn't bump into any people from the Thirstquencher Kingdom. Here he'd slay common monsters for experience, and to help keep them from ever coming into the village. Rumour spread of an "Ultimate Weapon" being created by Emperor R. Senic. Raso, feeling that he's had all the training he needs, decides to leave the Inn and join a group of fighters in order to bring down this potential menace... Starting Point: Upstairs in Grillin Village Inn Primary Spell/Weapon: Night Sword: The sword given to Raso on his birthday, it's about 30" long and he looks after it very well. Secondary Weapon/Item: Iron Shield: A suprisingly light iron shield that looks battered. Items: Canteen of water, Two packets of Mints, One loaf of Bread Spell(s): Chant of Hastening: When cast, this makes Raso about as fast as a "Hero" would be, if not a little faster. It lasts 15-30 minutes, and drains energy pretty fast, making Raso get tired quicker. -
Name: Rasanak Modeus Arkhan Gender: Male Age: 22 Job: Miner Height: 5'9" Birthdate: 6th January Birthplace: Sector 2 Specialities: Fighting and finding ore in rock. Appearance: Rasanak is twenty-two, but looks in his mid-thirties. His face is tired and unshaven, his eyes sullen and blackened under them. His skin is not pale like those from under the plates, where he now dwells, and looks a lot more tanned. He has a small scar on his chin, and another long-ish one above his left eye. His left arm has a set of scars that line it that are gradually fading. These are from his teen years, when things were very bad and unfair for him, when he took his rage out on himself.. He is an average-sized man, of average height and stature. His shoulders are of slight broadness and his arms are quite skinny but very tough and sinewy; full of muscle. He has light brown hair, the right side is long and spikes over the right side of his face and the left side is shorter and slightly spiked up messily. He wears a dirty-white tank-top, covered with coal and oil stains from the mine he works in. This is tucked into a pair of dark brown trousers and fastened with a black belt with a silver buckle. The trousers are baggy, dirty and ripped in places and have zips around the mid-shin area so that they can easily be turned into 3/4 length shorts. Around the thigh section of both trouser legs, there are a pair of brown leather holsters that attach onto his belt. These are for the hammers that he carries around when mining and walking the streets alone. The bottom of his trousers are tucked into a pair of black, laceless, nearly-worn-out boots. These are made of leather and have steel toecaps. He also wears a pair of tight fitting, black leather gloves with very large cuffs and has his bottom lip pierced in the centre. He normally has a silver ring in the piercing. History: Rasanak is from the Arkhan family, a rich family from the Costa Del Sol that were obsessed with business and money. When Midgar started to get popular, a lot people started to move there and take their families there, instead of the Costa Del Sol. This is why this seaside town is very small today. Annoyed with their sudden decrease in popularity, all the living members of the Arkhan family moved to Midgar. Upon their arrival, they were cheated out of half of the money they brang, which was over a quarter of a million Gil, by a squadron of guards at the city's vast main gate. The party of five then were directed by a few of the nicer residents of Midgar to a vacant house in Sector 2. This was owned by a rich, money hording swindler known simply as "Skiz". He, again, cheated them out of the rest of their money, save about 200 Gil by charging them an obscene amount for a cramped shack. However, it wasn't that bad; it happened to be better than most of the dumps in this particular Sector. This is when things went downhill for the decadent Arkhan family. Within the first week, the three men of the family had sought and received jobs in shops and mines, except for Modeus, Rasanak's future grandfather. He stayed at home with his daughter-in-law, Faye Arkhan. Her husband, Marciel got a job at a local mine. Her brother, Denra and Marciel's brother Lucesco both got a job in the same Item Shop in Sector 3. They travelled there each morning at 7am and returned twelve hours later. In the next week, Lucesco and Denra both left to go to work and did not return. After learning that Sector 3 was a lot rougher than Sector 2, the remaining three Arkhans assumed them as dead and mourned for days. In this period, Modeus went out to get some food from a local store. He was told at knife point to hand over all his Gil on his journey back. Modeus told the would-be-thief that he had no money, which was the truth. Angered, the thief drew a knife and launched a most likely drug-fuelled frenzy on the old man. After about 5 minutes of continuous stabbing, Shinra Guards had to pry the crazy murderer from Modeus' punctured body and shoot him in the head straight away. Things got even worse from here on. Marciel, after the loss of his brother and his father, began to drink at the local bar in Sector 2. He would spend at least five hours a day there drinking after quitting at his work in the Mines totally, leaving Faye at home alone all day. She, in her depression and mourning, resorted to drugs and prostitution. Marciel would come home in the early hours of the morning or mid-afternoon, blind drunk and beat Faye, just because she was there to hit. One fateful night in the bar, there were a couple of Shinra Guards at the bar that Marciel now practically lived in. He'd had a drink too many and went to sit next to the guards. After they put up with Marciel talking utter nonsense at them for about fifteen minutes, they told him to shutup and go away. In his druken state, Marciel took this personally and swung at the nearest guard, missing horribly. He lost his balance and fell onto the dirty floor, slurring and swearing at the guards. They lost their temper and dragged the drunkard outside. In the doorway, there was a commotion. Bloodcurdling screams coming from a broken man being kicked in the face, ribs, stomach, head, anywhere the guards thought it would hurt him most. Within a few minutes, the crying man on the floor was a bloody mess and the guards had got bored of their feet. So they then brought the butts of their guns into play, smashing his face into an unrecognisable pulp and breaking bone after bone in his chest and abdomen. Marciel was still alive, whimpering when the guards got bored again and left him in the middle of the doorway of the bar. No one inside so much as blinked at the incident outside. Marciel made it to a crossroad and collapsed hardly breathing, where thieves robbed him of his Gil, even in his state. After they only found about 10 Gil, they planted a knife in his heart and walked off. Amazing what Midgar can do to a family in three weeks. On that same night, in fact, Faye was raped by a member of SOLDIER passing through Midgar. Eight months later she gave birth alone to a premature baby boy, it was a miracle either of them survived it. She named him Rasanak after the supposed founder of the Arkhan clan, centuries ago, and Modeus after her unfortunate father. Rasanak grew up to be unusually strong-willed and physically strong. Although Faye knew why this was, Rasanak remained puzzled. He went to the mine where Marciel had worked and applied for a job. He got it at age fifteen. When he was eighteen, he was involved in a streetfight just outside his house. There were two thugs against Rasanak, who wanted his Gil. Rasanak stood up to them and actually beat them easily, by using a nearby metal pole. Mystified why he was so strong, he went inside and asked his mother. She told him about the story of the Arkhan family's move to Midgar and all the events that had happened, including the incident with the SOLIDER member. Rasanak was proud to have an essence of Mako in him, but at the same time disgusted to even have anything to do with these terrible henchmen of Shinra. He vowed revenge and freedom for him his mother. Faye died a week later. Personality: Generally, Rasanak is a good-natured guy. He is strong-willed, but this can often be perceived as stubbornness by people around him. This could be a trait from his unknown father. He recieved a cool intellect from his mother, a severe element of worry and paranoia hung around him all the time from the stories that Faye told him about Midgar after dark when he was little. In fights, Rasanak is smug, stubborn and stoic. He stands his ground and will try his best to let nothing get past him. Even though he knows he has Mako inside of him, he acts as if he is normal a normal guy until someone tries to hit him. It has made him be agile, strong and quick thinking. A good fighting mind to have.

Jesus... if people want abortions, they should be allowed them. It is not murder (up to a certain time), because the fetus is not living. It doesn't move, it doesn't reproduce, it doesn't excrete, it doesn't respire. The only thing it does do is feed and grow. Just like a plant but a lot simpler, even plants are more living than 1 month old fetuses (or is it feti?). If my mother chose to have an abortion when I didn't exist as a human being, then that would have been fine. I wouldn't have done anything special when I was growing and eating anyway and I probably would have existed as something else in another place. Anyway, should we really be worrying about killing "humans" that aren't actually alive yet? We're overpopulating the planet anyway, but that doesn't mean that people don't have a choice to have a baby or have an abortion. I don't see the problem with it. We should be worrying more about German perverts who fantacise about eating people (actually do eat people) and cut their penises off and then eat them. I think the real killers are the ones who do it for fun and people who kill in wars. Stop banging on about abortion, it fucks me off. -
Originally posted by wrist cutter a surprise that those in favor of abortion have not been aborted themselves.
Why are you always so negative? Anyway, I believe that until the baby has been growing for a certain length of time, abortion is acceptable. Up until it's actually living is fine ion my opinion. But there is a flip side to this, because some people just use abortion because they find pregnancy and motherhood to be an "inconvenience" (an excuse many use) acceptable, even if they are a busy, working woman. -

I'd like for OB to still exist in 10 years, but whatever happens now determines what happens in a decade to the boards. A decade.. it sounds like a really long when you say it that way. I'll most likely not be posting very regularly anymore. Probably may move on totally, I would definately check-up on the boards every-so-often. If you think about it, the boards will be here in 10 years, because anime has been around for longer than that, and it will carry on for longer than that. I think OtakuBoards will grow larger or die because of too many members. o.O

I merged this with the existing FFX Help Thread (which is actually the title). Next time you post something, look for a thread on that topic on the first page before you post. Also, can people please not be so lax with the spoiler tags? I'm sure some people would like to figure some things on their own. This is pointed specifically at Mist. Please put a warning in your post before the spoilers or, better yet, use the spoiler tag. Thank you.

OMGZZZ. That is totally funX0rxzzZx hax0rxz cool funkx. oO Yah, anyway, that is verrry cool. My favourite is the b/w one as well, basic is teh goodies. 1,000,000/10. ^_^

Summarised.. -First album is the best and sounds more rock than the other albums. -Too much DJing and Techno sounds now. -Borland left (good for him!), and now Limp Bizkit crash and burn. They are really crap now, in my opinion. :)

Guys like that make all the guys look bad. *sighs* lol I wouldn't for a second consider myself a "player" or a "ladies man", I mean.. I get along with most girls I know just fine, and I never, have never and will never treat a girl like some of the guys I know have. I do find it very very annoying that a lot of these "players" get a lot of attention from girls and have a lot of friends too. At least it seems that way.. *sighs again*

HHEHHWHEHEH SYStem oF a DOWN AR RR TEH ROx0rxAWSZZ!!!!111 Ahem. I have all three albums. I did put like 12 unreleased songs onto a CD but I lost it. =( I really do love them lots lots lots though. Serj's voice is soo good, I love it. It fits in with the really nearly-unhearably-low bass and the crazy guitar and drums. Whee I love them. *runs to California to see them right now*
-
I play bass, but I play with a pick mostly, not with my fingers. I find I can play faster that way. Bass guitar can be hard if you make it hard by learning hard songs and making up complicated riffs.. like I do. =\ But on the whole, bass is a lot easier than guitar. If you've just started playing acoustic, why are you going straight onto "base" guitar? If I were you, I'd get an electric guitar after you've learnt the basics on the acousitc. It all really depends on what you wanna play, guitar or bass guitar. *shrugs*

*laughs at Jehz0rx's post* I'm always lonely, but that's not why I do it. And Roxanne, I guess most girls I know aren't that open or they just.. don't.. lol I too crack my knuckles lotsy lots and always have verrrry long showers and use all the hot water. ^_^ *cracks knuckles*

Oooo.. FFXII does look verrry cool. One thing that does annoy me though are the in game graphics. It looks too much like FFX.. grrr. I really think they should change the engine for graphics so we can get something new and fresh. I love the artwork, it is so detailed and also futuristic and rustic at the same time. *wants a poster right now* Can't wait. ^__^

*rolls eyes* Everyone knows what the guys do. So I might as well not say it, but that's my "guilty pleasure"... Along with eating too much food times a million.

Hmm.. Finch are okay. I've heard like.. four songs though, out them my favourite is probably What It Is To Burn. When I go through my "I am sad and depressed" phases, it gets to me. =\
