Kirk gets lucky, Picard has skill
sums it all up in one
-
I don't see Picard doing that. He isn't willing to cheat to win. I think he'd be too concerned with staying proper than getting down into the nitty-gritty with Kahn. Kahn wouldn't care how reserved and pleasant Picard may be trying to be. He would view it (etiquette) as weakness (in Kahn's debut episode, Space Seed, this is made perfectly clear).
so picard fights fair. if anything that raises my oppinon of the man. another reason why picard pwns kirk is that picard had the guts to admit he was bald. kirk just wore that awful toupee.
Kirk may have gambled his way into stopping a madman from destroying the known galaxy, but who justified human existance to a race of god-like beings? On several occasions? In fact, if memory serves, Picard prevented the human race from disappearing in the cracks of time
well said mr. webb. but an argument for janeway: she and the voyager crew managed to do time travel to save stuff, but even though they created timeline inversions and time travel paradoxes, they managed to sor them out in the end! XD
yeah he is one of the greatest swordsman but in the end he still get beaten by cloud. :D
his will got beaten by cloud. not his physical form. bizarro, safer, and true sephiroth are all sephiroth's will manifest. sephiroth's actuall physical body has been encased in materia the whole time, in suspended animation. the sephiroths you keep running in to over ff7 are all manifestations of sephiroth's will.

the death penalty can be a good thing. just as long as it's not used against me! (i know, bad joke) it has been written since before sliced bread and microwave ovens "an eye for an eye" and such and such, but i think that what the above guy said just about covers everything.

Anime Which Anime or Manga Hero you you like, love, respect,or whatever.
Lord Dante replied to foxfire_2008's topic in Otaku Central
I respect kenshiro (fist of the north star). even after bweing killed, and thrown down a cliff, he still manages to drag his carcass back from hell, and go on a slaughter rampage to kill shin/his followers. that's what i call dedication. -
one word: space invaders (ok, so two words) i've played that game over the internet for a total of 100 hours (this month). space invaders is addicting. addicting. space invaders is as addicting as an addicting thing ! ...but i digress. personally, i think that games like final fantasy are addicting to the point of insanity (i once played final fantasy 7 for eight days straight, without sleep). plus tombi is quite addictive. the oddworld quintology are also deliciously addictive.

one word: sephiroth. sephiroth has to be without a doubt the greatest swordsman since ever. i mean, who else has such a strong will that they can manifest it into a corpreal being, with physical prowess?!? no-one, that's who. plus, the masamune. no-one can or is going to argue with a sword like that.

5 - strong bad you gotta love someone who thinks they can play really well, but can't. 4 - that guy with a mousetace (in the enter sandman video) from metallica 3 - that guy from slipknot 2 - that other guy from slipknot 1 - john 5
I think it's worth mentioning that Picard is the only person in history to break away from the Borg collective and return to his original states. (Seven of Nine doesn't count; she breaks away from the collective, but she is clearly still a Borg.) He then went on to kick the crap out of the entire Borg race in "First Contact", and constantly outwitted an omnipotent master alien. (Q, who is an awesome character any way you look at it.) Piccard's crew is also far better than Kirk's; with the exception of Spock, I'd take Worf, Data, Riker, Geordi or Crusher at my back, rather thant McCoy, Chekov, Sulu or Scotty. And, yes, Wrath of Khan is a good movie, but let's look at some of the other first generation movies... Piccard pwns Kirk.
HAHAHAH!!! A BELIEVER!!! \m/ \m/ well said. picard was the best captain, with the best crew. klingon beats vulkan any day.

cap vs snk 2: mai shiranui. the best tactic on this game is to use mai. why? because your opponent will be so transfixed by her animation that they hardly notice you beating the crap out of them. works for me every time.
I think the most annoying character is Cornel Campell from Metal Gear Solid 1. "Press the action button to drop down!" (5 seconds later) "Press the action button to climb" What does he take Snake for, an idiot?
yes he does actually. those quotes are aimed at the beginner (i know, i didn't know they existed either!)
Street Fighter, how I love you so. Take one part awesome control, one part ungodly amount of cool characters (minus Dan),
hey. dan was cool. with no other character could you hurl abuse at your opponents while jumping around, making a fool of yourself, and winning with funy low-power moves. in short, dan rocks.

some of my favorite games: dead or alive 2. this game reminds me of ehrgeiz, just with better graphics (and characters!) capcom vs SNK 2 mark of the milennium 2001. how can you go wrong with a game like this? wicked characters from both universes, this game is a classic, especially because you can custoise character costumes and names (my team: vampire, demon and succubi) street fighter alpha 3. needs no explaining soul calibur 2 this game is so much cool. my favorite character to use is ivy, as she has the longest range, and decent power. the wepon master mode is almost as good as soul blade's edge master too. soul blade the original is always best.

the two arguments i'm sensing here are 'technology = good, nature = bad' and 'give it all up to start a new community'. my solution is to have the best of both worlds! bild a huge-*** space colony and blast off into space! you could have a pioneering, utopian society then, but still have technology everyone wins!

i first opened my myotaku.com page because i remember when it was just theotaku.com, before myotaku was invented way back before the turn of the century/milennium/whatever. i hadn't been going on the web for reasons of my own, and i felt very guilty that i hadn't viseted the site for years, so i created my account (i've done nothing with it yet). i intend to use my account for posting on when ive posted an article, wallpaper, or whatever (i'll get these up soon). finally, i hope you don't think less of me for asking this, but what's a blog?

bah. your artwork is quite exemplary. i don't quite get the mosaiac like one, but there you go... >.< this is another example of why photoshop is better than paint shop pro *kicks hard drive... stupid PSP* awesome artworks

ive not heard much metallica at the moment. but this will be remedied as soon as my order gets shipped. i'd have to say that my favorite song is enter sandman (it's the only one i can remember at the moment)

i'll have to agree with quincyarcher. the swastika was just a symbol that hitler thought was clever. (actuallly, he took the symbol that quincyarcher was talking about, and reversed it. according to my history teacher)

where i am, the only series that have been aired are tenchi muyo and tenchi universe. i've seen every episode of muyo (i think) and it kicks so much backside it's unbelievable. my favorite moment would probablyy be when aeyaka discovers that tenchi's father is her groom-to-be. (the look on her face was priceless) ryoko is probably the best character in terms of humor.

the first film i can ever remember seing in the theatre.... i guess it would have to be night of the living dead (the original from the 1970's or something) or at least something with the suffix "the living dead". i can remember loving every minute of it. especially when this guy's head got shattered to pieces when he was fired at with a 12-guage shotgun.
Yeah I love Slipknot, been a fan ever since the beginning (I even liked stone sour, which corey was in) and their concerts are crazy, but I think now they're just getting too popular. All the wannabe rockers like them which rather annoys me. I mean people who like "Simple Plan" like Slipknot, seriously get real, they're making all the true fans look bad
i'll agree with that. where i live poeple like that have even started rumours that fightstar and slipknot are going to merge and do a double-act (rediculous i know, but poeple here are stupid and ignorant). right. time to get the nuke out of the shed....

Gaming What Video Games had the worst/disappointing Sequels?
Lord Dante replied to kairi007's topic in Noosphere
well... duke nukem (great series of games) had a really dissapointing seaquel in the form of duke nukem 64. nintendo (being a family company) cut out most of what makes duke nukem great. also, rampage: universal tour. not a patch on the original. -
As much as I love Kirk, I've always had a problem with two things: 1) He went on missions with his first officer all the time. Whoever the third highest ranking officer on the Enterprise was, they took command of that ship alot. That was bad strategic thinking on his part. 2) The red-shirt/ensign who always died. I understand that some things were simply out of Kirk's control, but how many ensigns did the guy lose during his command? And it's not like they were battle casualties; he usually lost them during an exploration mission.
i'll agree with that. plus virtually all of kirk's adventures seemed to revolve around a woman of some description....
Janeway was a great captain, given the circumstance. The Voyager was an escort ship with a skeleton crew, and it got stranded on the other side of the freaking galaxy. She was a pretty strong leader, and she always knew when to listen to her crew. The only problem was that her crew was crap. She had a first officer who commanded no authority over the other crew members. I mean, it's not like she had a crew worthy of the Enterprise. She did get them all back home, though. She's also the only captain besides Picard who could tango with Q, although Q's interest in Janeway was... uh... different
again, i'll agree with that. the crew (with the possible exeption of harry, the doctor, and tuvok) was expecially crap. as for the Q incident, Q only appeared one in voyager. so janeway couldn't really tangle with him. picard is the only one who could go toe-to-toe with Q. Q rules.
Yep, there are lots of boards for maggots around. Quite popular too! :P
when i said maggots, i meant fly larvae. i was trying to make a play on words. *puts on dunce cap and stands in a corner*

this is the question that has plagued mankind since time began....... (well, sort of) which star trek captain is best???? kirk, picard, or janeway. i would have to pick jean luc picard. picard, in my oppinion had the support of a superior crew. (most notably lt. cmndr. data, worf, and jeordi leforge) so, please tell me your oppinion on the matter.
