...And this is the part where England gets the **** bombed out of it.
-
A lot of anime are aimed at male nerds, so I guess that they're trying to use a character that the submissive rejects at the bottom of the social ladder can relate too? And male arrogant prick from Love Hina? That can't be Seta, because he's not an arrogant prick... And the female thing isn't sexism, its just trying to make the female characters look more attractive. Its no more sexist than using a cool-looking muscular guy as the main character.

Sesshomaru would get boring quick... he's too enigmatic to be an interesting person to hang out with. Which character... a non-prosthetic Motoko Kusanagi, I guess. She's really deep so there'd be some interesting conversations, and she'd be a good person to rough house/spar with!

Anime I Have or I did have a crush on an anime character!
Bloodseeker replied to XxmoraiNAKIxX's topic in Otaku Central
Asuka Langley, which is kinda gross, cause she's 14 and I'm 17..so a little perverted. I just like her personality, it's totally see through how she acts...but she tries to be tough. plus, I have a thing for redheads...
Don't feel bad... she's a fictional character, so she follows a different set of rules. And in the land of Evangelion, 14 year olds have the physical maturity of sixteen year olds. -
Ayeka's my favorite Tenchi girl, but she shouldn't get Tenchi...
she's his great aunt for Christ's sake! That's even worse than if she were his sister!
So I'd have to say that either Ryoko, Mihoshi, or Washu should get him. They're all cool... (except for Sukuya, she's not cool)

Kakashi is the most popular, hands down. Well, Gaara gives him some competition, but I think that Kakashi is still the most popular Naruto character. Who's my favorite? ...I haven't really decided yet. I'll go with Kakashi too, I guess. I liked Sasuke in the manga, but his emo voice in the anime kills him. (I hear that Japanese voice is also pretty emo)
I got into anime when i was in 3rd grade. I was watching commercials when suddenly this Sailor Moon one pooped up. Ever since then i went to barnes and nobles reading manga, after manga came anime...though i don't like Sailor Moon anymore, i'll always remember how it all started though :catgirl: [/SIZE']
Have you seen the uncuts? They might rekindle your fandom... Dic cut out most of the action, humor, and serious character developement. It makes a HUGE difference! Of course its still Sailor Moon, corny romantic theme left intact, so if you absolutely wouldn't be able to stand Dic's version of Sailor Moon, the chances of the uncuts becoming one of your favorites is slim to nil. But everybody should still check it out, regardless.

I first heard the word "anime" when DBZ was in the middle of the Frieza Saga on Cartoon Network. I didn't think much about it at the time. I signed onto the AS message boards for the first time in late-mid 2003. This was when I got interested in anime in general, as compared to just being interested in a few shows on Toonami and AS. I bought Neon Genesis Evangelion November-December 2003, and I've had a strong interest in anime ever since.

Japan's cool... I really enjoyed my vacation to Tokyo, the people there were very helpful (I was surprised that so many of them knew English... you could almost always find someone in the area that could help you when you needed it), and I never felt threatened once while I was there. (which is saying something, since I'm a very cautious person) The only thing that bugged me was the lack of individuality... and it wasn't just that they all had similar skin tones. Men in identical black and white business suits walked the streets of Ginza and Asakusa, groups of girls all make the exact same awed statements at the exact same time (I came across this a few times), many people were extreme comformists in their casual styles... it just seemed weird to me. There are comformists in America too, but there are so many different cultures here that you don't really notice it.

What do I know about my heritage? According to my grandma, one of ancestors was the first white man born in one of the middle states... I also have trace amounts of Scotish and Jewish blood in me. I'm white, in case you couln't figure that out. Aside from that, I don't know much about my heritage.

And yes, I did say we. I'd appreciate any help that I could get. There are politicians that are trying to increase restrictions on media. I love my videogames, and I love my anime, and I sure as hell don't want to start seeing violent videogames and anime on store shelves getting censored by a bunch of paranoid idiots that don't even know what they're talking about! I've been in their shoes before (I used to be paranoid about gangster rap music), and I know that blind conviction dirven by a mixture paranoia and ignorant views of the culture can be a very dangerous thing. That's why we need to take action as soon as possible. Now I could sit down and argue with these politicians all day, but without some solid information to back my arguments, I'll just be another irritated internet jocky running his mouth. This first bit of information was easy enough to find... and its solid enough to work as our main argument. The Bureau of Justice Statistics speaks... If violent videogames really encouraged kids to go out and get violent in the real world, then violent crimes would be increasing with the growing videogame audience and the growing amount of violent videogames on the market. On the contrary, the amount of violent crimes have been decreasing over the years. It didn't even jump during 2001-2002 after the controversial smash hit that was GTA3! A lot of kids that commit violent crimes play violent videogames? No *****! That's because most kids play videogames, and most of those kids play violent videogames! The Columbine shooters played Doom? So did millions of other people, but you don't see them going to their school campuses and shooting 20+ people dead! Too many people play violent videogames and too few people commit violent crimes for it to be a solid argument. However, I fear that these arguments alone might not be enough to convince some hard headed politicians. We need enough information to prove without a shadow of a doubt that violent videogames are NOT a threat. We need the statements of an esteemed psychologist or two. I used to have a counselor that I was pretty close to, so I could probably ask her who I should look up. Her cell is currently turned off and her old home phone has apprently been disconnected, but I'll try to get into contact with her sometime soon. But I'd prefer it if I could just get the information here without having reestablish old contacts. (getting reacquainted with people is always awkward) On top of finding information to use for our arugments, we need to identify which senators we need to meet with. Now there 435 representatives within the House of Representatives and 100 senators within the Senate. On top of this, there are also state and local politicians that could be as dangerous when speaking to the right audience. That's a lot of ground to cover. That's why I'm going to need help. I want three things from anybody that reads this: 1. Post any information that will help our argument. Information is fire power in the realm of politics. The more information we have supporting our arguments the bigger the chance that they'll be taken seriously. 2. Once we've decided that we have enough information for a solid, unquestionable argument, I want you to seek out and meet with any reputable politicians in your area that have taken a stance against violent media. 3. After you've met with politician, tell us how it went. We want to know about any arguments that he or she brought up defending his or her stance against violent videogames so that we can better prepare to counteract those arguments. Does anybody have any information that we could use?

I used to work at Jack and the Box, but I quit after the manager gave the "you're that face of the company" speech and tried to send me home (meaning that I would have clocked in so late that I wouldn't have gotten paid for the day) over having a little bit of dirt on my pants. I don't like the fast food industry... I hear that its one of the worst fields that you can into. The pay's really low, there's no tips, the work can get complicated when the restaurant gets busy, its definitely not fun, the management sucks (I hear that's a constant one in the fast food industry, more so than in regular retail)... meh. I think that I'm better off looking elsewhere for work. Unfortunately, restaurants and family businesses are pretty much all that my town has. I need to get a driver's license so that I can get to the neighboring city before I start my job search again.

Writing Bloodseeker's Choose Your Own Fate! [M-SLV]
Bloodseeker replied to Bloodseeker's topic in Creative Works
Thanks, I'll try that. I want at least two more votes before I continue this story! Come on... I've already got a few good plot twists planned out and a style of storytelling that I think that most of you will like! -
I've got to dissagree with the first two.
"Don't give everyone a reason to hate you, and everyone will have a reason to love you." It means, if you don't give them a reason to hate you, and they will have a reason to like you, get it? ;)
That's not true. When I was in school, I generally kept to myself (aside from group of 20 friends or so), but that didn't stop those beaners from jumping me because I was friends with some of the people that they hated. Also, if you have an irritating personality, people might just hate you for being yourself. Just because you're nice to people doesn't mean that they're going to like you.
"I trust until given a reason not to, though in the in I may still..." Meaning that I will give everyone a chance before I deem them unworthy of my trust. *Giggle*
That used to be my philosophy, but I've been burned by it too many times to keep it. I used to have a best friend named Nick; we hung out together for the first half of fifth grade. However, that was before I learned to shut up when I had nothing to say, and a lot of people found me annoying back then. I was probably the least popular person in my class. He eventually attacked me and told me that we weren't friends anymore. My guess is that the other classmates didn't want to hang out with somebody that hung out with me, so they gave him an ultimatum. I've been put into a similar situation myself where I was told that I either had to beat the crap out of a kid or get a beatdown along with him. (that wasn't a hard choice, seeing as how I didn't like the bastard either) That wasn't the only time that I've been ditched by my friends, either. That's why I have to be cautious when making new friends. Well, if anything, I've learned to be a better judge of character from it.

But if you think that any swordsman has the reflexes to cut six bullets in half in a non-scripted environment, especially when its an experienced gunman shooting at them, you've been watching too much anime. There's a reason why the sword has fallen into disuse, and its not just because its easier to learn how to pull a trigger than it is to learn how to quickly kill someone with a blade. Guns are quick, long range weapons. If you came at me at with a sword and I had a semi-automatic, or even just a regular pistol, you'd be screwed.
-
I shoot you. I win. Swords are outdated. You're better off becoming a more accurate shot at a shooting range and/or learning hand to hand martial arts that don't require you to carry around a weapon. (make sure that the dojo is hard contact and doesn't charge you for belt lessons)

Use this thread to give out wise sayings of advice... your OWN advice. I don't want to see the golden rule unless you can give an example of how its relevant to a life experience of yours. Also, if you can, give an explanation as to what that saying means and how it applies to life, and possibly examples. I'll start. Sometimes helping others means allowing them to help themselves. The surest way to learn and get better at life is to solve your own problems. Some people have idea that solving other people's problems for them removes a load from them and helps them get back on their feet. This is the bleeding heart idiot's mistake. On the contrary, if you "help" someone solve their own problems too much, there's a good chance that they're going to become reliant on you. And that means more stress on you and more pain and hardship for them when you're not around to pull them through. A good example of this is my aunt Kathy. When she was in her early 20s, she decided to ditch college. Why should she go to college when welfare and her grandparent's aid could get her by just fine? Well, about 15 years later, her grandparents got tired of giving her free money and furniture to help her live more comfortably, and as some of you already know, current laws will only give you welfare for so long before you have to go out and get a job. So here she is, 45 years old, living in an old beat up house, eating nothing but bread and ramen, and just now going back to college using student loans. Now what would have happened if aunt Kathy hadn't have been able to fall back on free money? True, she might have done the same thing that she did back then, but chances are that she would have stayed in college out of fear of being booted to the streets. And who knows, maybe she might have gone on to be successful in whatever field she entered, maybe even making six or seven digits a year by the age of 40. But that's not what happened, due in part to the fact that she had an easy way out through unearned "aid".

Anime Which anime do you think has the best art work?
Bloodseeker replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Out of the ones that I've seen, Last Exile. But that was about a year ago, in the States, so there's probably shows with better animation out by now. Animation was never all that important to me... I only notice it when its either really choppy (usually with old titles like Ranma 1/2 and the first seasons of Sailor Moon), inconsistant (like with the original Evangelion DVDs), or when it has a unique style (Samurai Champloo, Super Milk Chan). -
Anime this is the "discuss anime without bashing" thread
Bloodseeker replied to animekid17's topic in Otaku Central
What's wrong with attacking a show's flaws? It creates good conversation for both sides of the argument. The attackers get to reveal why the show is NOT perfect, and the defenders get a chance to truly explain why their favorite show is great, despite its flaws. On top of all this, both sides usually get a better understanding as to why others don't necessarily agree with their opinion. For instance, through the conversations that I've had about Evangelion, I've learned that whether or not a person likes it relies heavily on how much they like the characters. People that love Eva will rave about the awesome and well developed characters (or will always be a strong fan of at least one of the characters), while people that hate it will always complain about how the show's characters are irritating. Some of them will try to chalk it up to bad character developement, but that argument always becomes moot as soon as somebody points out how much the characters evolve as the show goes on. -
Being a man, I see myself as capable of fighting. I also think that if I were engaged in combat with a woman roughly my age, I would be able to defeat that woman effortlessly. Women are structured to be physically weak in America. There are exceptions, but not enough for me to think that more than 1% of the female population could fight me and win.[/size']
1. The idea that you can beat up a girl isn't something to be proud of. Only the weakest guys would get their ***** beat by your average girl. 2. "Defeat" her in "combat"? This isn't an anime or a D&D session. Bad choice of words. 3. I think that you're forgetting that more than one percent of the female population either knows real martial arts or are on enough steroids to be just as strong as your average guy. As for me, I'm a guy. I really don't see any significance in that alone though... Though I guess that it might have something to do with my being as cynical as I am.

I joined for the same reason that I join any forum; I was bored and wanted a new place to talk. I remembered a site called theotaku that I had visited a few months before, so I decided to join the forums there. And here I am!

Let?s give this a try here? People that hang out on the GFAQs boards might be familiar with the term CYOF. Here?s how it?s going to work: I?m going write a story. At the end of each chapter, I?m going give you several options, as well as the option for the story to do something that?s not on the list. Each time before I start a new chapter, I?ll count the votes from the previous chapter and use the option that got the most votes. I?ll be making some changes to the characters to make them fit my story, but I?ll try to stay somewhat loyal to their original counterparts. Its not really an RPG, but its not really a normal fanfic either. And since the anthology board is practically dead, I thought that I?d put it here. Be sure to vote at the end of each chapter. I?m not going to waste my time on a story that nobody?s reading, and I?ll have no way to know that you?re reading if you don?t vote. Also, don?t be afraid to give feedback. If there?s a big flaw in my writing style, or if something about the story is really bugging you, or if you?re just really enjoying the story, let me know. This first entry is going to be a bit long, since I want to get the beginning over with, so bear with it. Chapter 1: Enter Eric Martin It was great to finally have a chance to relax after so many weeks of being on the move. True safe havens like this one had become a rare find since this whole mess started. It was a nice mansion? the walls and much of the furniture was made of obviously old yet very well kept wood (looked like mahogany). Many things were made of marble, including the kitchen and bathroom floors. The extremely powerful incantations on the walls and gates kept the average individual from even perceiving the mansion, and kept the stronger-than-average individuals out. You sunk comfortably into a black leather couch that formed a crescent moon around a big, round, wooden table.. ?So what?s your deal anyways?? You looked up across the table at Tessa, who looked quiet comfortable sitting on her end of the couch. ?You really are an odd case. You?re obviously pretty strong, yet I was unable to find any information on you? not even a brief mention in the Paladin database! And they have information on everyone and everything related to the supernatural! Honestly, I?ve never seen any group or individual of any significance that didn?t have a full file in the Paladin database!? ?Well I?m relatively new to the game, and I?ve been trying to stay under the radar for obvious reasons. Add the two together, and they probably haven?t had enough time to collect any worthwhile information on me, much less file a full report.? A maid sat a cheeseburger and a Dr. Pepper on the table. You laughed. ?I would have thought that such a nice place would serve rich people food!? ?The young mistress informed me that you prefer this cheap food over expensive food, so I assumed that this would be along the lines of what you wanted. But I can use some dinner if you don?t want it.? ?Nah, you assumed right. I would have turned down dinner if it were that expensive crap. Honestly, how can people make a diet out of expensive alcohol and fish eggs? ?Speaking of ?the young mistress?, where is she exactly? Or Yusuke for that matter?? ?Yusuke seems to be enjoying the arcade and the young mistress has secluded herself in her room. She?s probably resting.? ?Yeah, that?s probably it.? More like hopefully it? Tessa interrupted. ?It looks like we?re going to have a little free time on our hands, and I?m really curious as to how you got involved in this situation. I don?t see where this should be between anybody but Mythril and the Illuminati?? ?Circumstances demanded that I step in. I guess that I?ll start with my life directly prior to becoming something other than ?normal?." ?Ugh?? The alarm clock blasted static, which seemed to be the only noise that could wake Eric up without startling the crap out of him. He had to be at work in two hours. ?Maybe I should have gone to bed a few hours earlier.? He had taken quiet the journey the day before, walking all over the city. His legs were still chaffed, and he was exhausted as all hell. But he still had to go to work. Eric was an 18 year old white boy with brown hair and a medium build. He had been a slacker in the truest sense up until a few months ago, when had he finally became fed up with his own fat lazy *ss that he just couldn?t stand it anymore. He started working out hard, and while he didn?t loose all of that weight, he did gain a lot of muscle. He finally got himself a job at a local fast food joint, though he had been nothing short of miserable working there? ?Your shirt?s dirty, your pants are dirty, your visor?s dirty? you?re filthy! Go home and come back after you clean your *ss up! As one of our employees, you?re a representative of this company! As the man working the cash register, your face is the company?s face in the eyes of the customer! Now look, I want to help you, but in order for me to do that, you need to follow our policies and help yourself! If we allowed all of our employees to come to work looking like that, the customers?? And the fat man starts at it again? This stupid manager was delusional! His pants had a little dirt on them, but he definitely wasn?t filthy. This wasn?t the first time that his manager had yelled at him over something really stupid. Just the other day, he?d gotten chewed out for holding the broom wrong (even though he was getting the job done quickly and thoroughly). And not too long before that, he?d gotten sent home for having a little bit of stubble on his chin. And before that, he was getting yelled at for not refilling the already half-way full drink station. The manager got like this whenever something wasn?t absolutely perfect, and it was beginning to become a real pain. The other employees weren?t helping either. Only two of them would even talk to him (a kind of nerdy yet funny guy and a cute Mexican chick). The rest all gave him the cold shoulder. On top of all this, his hours were steadily decreasing and he was only getting paid minimum wage. ??knew what had to happen when you signed that ap-? ?You know what, I?ve had enough this job! Brian, Brenda, I?m sorry? but I?m out of here.? ?FINE! I?ll mail your last check to your house in a few days. Get out.? Eric went home and decided to call his friend Roy over for a Halo 2 session. Roy was fairly tall black haired guy in his early 20s. Even though Eric had known him well for three years, he?d never been over to his house or gotten wind of what his life was like outside of hanging out with Eric and his friends and helping students as the school consoler. ?Tough break, but sometimes things like this happen. Leave it and move on.? ?Yeah, I intend to. I?ve already started looking for another job.? Eric shot Roy in the head with the sniper rifle. ?Grr? Well, at least your Halo skills haven?t declined any.? ?I?m kind of happy to be out of that job though. You knew that I?ve been thinking about quitting for a while anyways. I hated that job. I really did.? ?Yeah, so I?ve heard. That?s enough Halo? what do you say we go and torment Wesley for a while? I hear that he recently told a teacher on Lisa for turning him down on a date?? ?You?d think that you?d learn how to take care of your own problems by high school! I still haven?t forgiven him for convincing the school board to ban handheld gaming consoles, so I?m up for it.? Wesley was a scrawny blond kid that had never even tried to solve his own problems. His idea of problem solving was to make up stories about people and trying to get them expelled using those stories. Whenever people broke the rules, Weasly was always the first one to tell the story to the office in the most exaggerated way possible. Not even a mixture of endless beatings from angry students and Roy?s best attempts to talk some sense into Wesley had been able to change his outlook on how problems ought to be handled. Eric wasn?t a bully, but this kid had caused him a lot of problems in his school life too. It was Wesley?s tendency to snitch that had put Eric on detention for skipping Mr. Walter?s class, that same tendency that got one of Eric?s best friends expelled for defending himself against Los 8-on-1 Beaner Squad (stupid wannabe gang banging pieces of sh*t), and most recently, Wesley?s report that got gaming and manga banned from the school grounds. The fact that he was a scrawny nerd that wasn?t strong enough to defend himself against all of the people that he angered didn?t justify any of this. It just meant that he chose not to get stronger. All of these incidents were fairly recent, and he was about to pay? ?Hey Wesley, what the hell were you trying achieve by getting gaming and manga banned from the school?? ?It?s for your own good. Videogames and manga are violent, they corrupt your mind, and they?re definitely not appropriate for a house of learning.? Both Eric and Roy were pretty aggravated by this. Eric got especially p*ssed? ?What we choose to do during our spare time is not your business! If you don?t like it, that?s fine, but don?t take action against it just because you find it distasteful!? Wesley smiled arrogantly. ?Well obviously it is my business, because videogames have turned you both into violent degenerates. And not only you, but most of the school.? ?That?s not right. Videogames can act as a trigger, but its usually the fault of a mixture of bad parenting and growing up in a bad neighborhood?? ?They?re only violent towards you because you pull this kind of bullsh*t! You bring it on yourself! If you didn?t go around snitching on everybody and trying to get everything that you see as inappropriate banned, they wouldn?t attack you!? Roy stepped forward. ?And even if they did, there would always be people like us that wouldn?t that slide.? ?Exactly!? ?I?m not going to let you guys stop me from doing the right thing!? ?Its not the right thing! Authority isn?t always right!? ?They are here!? Roy shook his head. ?Idiot. You?re quiet the lost cause, aren?t you?? ?So you?re not even willing to look at things from our angle? And you call yourself an intellectual?? ?Why would I want to see things from the perspective of a couple of barbarians?? ?It?s obvious that he?s not listening. Let?s just pound this guy already.? ?Agreed. Hey, you don?t mind if I take him by myself, right?? Roy sighed. ?Alright, I beat him down less than a month ago anyways.? ?STAY AWAY! I?LL GET YOU BOTH EXPELLED!? ?Shut up.? Eric punched Wesley in the stomach then picked him up and threw him. Weasly screamed like a little girl before his head slammed hard against the rough brick wall. Weasly picked himself up on all fours. ?Oh? oh?? Pathetic noises from a pathetic boy. Eric kicked him in the mouth. ?This really is pathetic. Are you even going to try to help yourself?? ?Ahhh, ahhhh?? ?You?re not a man, you?re not even a boy? you?re a f*cking rat. You?re the rat that the other rats sharpen their teeth on because you?re too scared to do anything about.? Eric turned to Roy. ?How the hell do people even turn out like this?? Roy shook his head. Eric turned back to Wesley. ?Your parents needed to teach you to stand on your own two feet.? ?Barbarian?? Eric stomped him in the stomach. Wesley let out a yelp of pain and groaned. ?I may be a barbarian, but at least its better than being a coward that relies on the authorities to solve all of his problems for him? I?ve really enjoyed this bit of dialog, rat.? ?See you at school, punk. Don?t ruin everyone else?s free time, and things like this won?t happen to you.? Eric would have been lying if he said that he didn?t enjoy that. It was starting to get dark, and Roy?s family apparently insisted that he go with them to visit his older sister, so he and Eric parted ways for the night. Mom wasn?t home, so Eric made himself a grilled cheese for dinner. Good stuff. He spent the next three hours crashed out on the couch? Eric was woken up by his mom coming through the door. His mom was a kind woman with a short and somewhat chubby build. Eric yawned. ?Hey mom, what?s up?? His mom didn?t answer. ?What kept you out so late?? Eric felt a sudden chill down his spine? but it was weird? it was his spine? but it felt like it somehow felt like was somewhere else? separate from his body? ?Fine, be that way. I WAS going to offer to make you dinner...? Eric got up and checked the temperature. 75 degrees? perfect. Then why did he feel so cold? ?Hey mom, does it feel cold in here to you? Think the AC?s broken? ? ??? His mom just continued to stare blankly out across the room. This was getting weird. Why was his mom standing near the door not saying anything? And why was that weird chill spreading throughout his entire body? And? why did mom look so pale? Eric shuddered. Okay, this is definitely NOT normal! WTF is going on?! This is bad! I can?t shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen here? The chill?s spreading? I need to take action while I still can. But what can a guy like me do in a situation like this? A. There?s obviously something wrong with mom? I?ll put on a sweater and drive my mom to the hospital. B. I?ll call an exorcist. Weird stuff like this is their field. It?s the most logical choice. C. The chill?s getting really bad? I don?t have time to take mom with me, and she?s obviously not herself. Who knows what she might do if I try to take her! I?m so sorry, mom? D. I?ll just turn the heater up and watch some TV. It?s obviously my imagination. Mom?s just messing around. (I hope?) E. Other, please specify. [References] Whenever a new character or group from an anime pops up in my story, I'll be sure to let you know via this section at the end of each part of a chapter. I'll also give a short explanation as to what role that character or group played in their show. Mithril is a justice-serving mercenary group in a mecha/action/comedy series called Full Metal Panic. FMP focuses around a Mythril mercenary named Sousuke Sagara as he protects a highschool girl that has all sorts of valuable military information locked away deep in her memories from terrorists ad shady government agencies. Its a good series, I recommend it. Teletha "Tessa" Testarosa is a submarine commander working for Mythril. She has a crush on Sousuke, and has made it her goal to steal him away from Kaname. Of course, anyone that knows a lot about anime, or fiction in general, knows that this is one battle that Tessa isn't going to win... But that won't stop me from rooting for her! Go Tessa! Yusuke Urameshi is the main character in Yu Yu Hakusho. He gets ran over by a car and killed in the first episode, but he's brought back to life by the prince of the underworld as the Spirit Detective of the Earth. Its his job to put a stop to any supernatural plans that might threaten the Earth or the Spirit Realm. While I'll be the first to say that he's not as cool as Hiei or Kurama, he's probably my favorite shounen anime protagonist, and I thought that he'd fill his role in my story better than either of those two. Roy "Flame Alchemist" Mustang is my favorite character on Adult Swim's own Fullmetal Alchemist. He's a colonel in the military, as well as a state alchemist, and he's Edward "Fullmetal Alchemist" Elric's boss. He's usually very serious, with a scowl on his face and a dry sense of humor, but he's got a less uptight side, too. (TINY MINISKIRTS!) And that's not evening mentioning his downright awesome attacks. *snap*

The older PS2s and XBOXs had a lot of problems, such as disk read errors and, in the XBOX's case, stalling with larger games. I wonder if they've been more thorough with this generation's bug testing with this sort of thing. Either way, I'm going to wait about six months after their releases to buy the new systems.

?They?re only violent towards you because you pull this kind of bullsh*t! You bring it on yourself! If you didn?t go around snitching on everybody and trying to get everything that you see as inappropriate banned, they wouldn?t attack you!? Roy stepped forward. ?And even if they did, there would always be people like us that wouldn?t that slide.? ?Exactly!? ?I?m not going to let you guys stop me from doing the right thing!? ?Its not the right thing! Authority isn?t always right!? ?They are here!? Roy shook his head. ?Idiot.? You?re the rat that the other rats sharpen their teeth on because you?re too scared to do anything about it. How do people even turn out like that?? Eric stomped on his stomach. ?You?re not worth any more of my time. Eric always thought that it was weird that even though he?d known Roy for three years, he?d never once been to his house or met his family. Well, if Roy wanted him to meet his family, he?d introduce them. Mom wasn?t home, so Eric made himself a grilled cheese for dinner. Good stuff. He spent the next three hours crashed out on the couch? Eric was woken up by his mom coming through the door. Eric yawned. ?Hey mom, what?s up?? His mom didn?t answer. ?What kept you out so late?? Eric felt a sudden chill down his spine? but it was weird? it was his spine? but it wasn?t? ?Fine, be that way. I WAS going to offer to make you dinner...? Eric got up and checked the temperature. 75 degrees? perfect. Then why did he feel so cold? ?Hey mom, does it feel cold in here to you? Think that AC?s broken? ? ??? This was getting weird. Why was his mom standing near the door not saying anything? And why was that wierd chill spreading throughout his entire body? And? why did mom look so pale? Okay, this is definitely NOT normal! WTF is going on?! This is bad! I can?t shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen here. An injustice too terrible for words? The chill?s spreading? I need to take action while I still can. But what can a guy like me do in a situation like this? A. There?s obviously something wrong with mom? I?ll put on a sweater and drive my mom to the hospital. B. I?ll call an exorcist. Weird stuff like this is their field. It?s the most logical choice. C. The chill?s getting really bad? I need to get out of here... I don?t have time to take mom with me, and she?s obviously not herself. Who knows what she might do if I try to take her! I?m so sorry, mom? D. I?ll just turn the heater up and watch some TV. It?s obviously my imagination. Mom's just messing around. (I hope?) E. Other, please specify. -

?Ugh?? The alarm clock blasted static, which seemed to be the only noise that could wake Eric up without startling the crap out of him. He had to be at work in two hours. ?Maybe I should have gone to bed a few hours earlier.? He had taken quiet the journey the day before, walking all over the city. His legs were still chaffed, and he was exhausted as all hell. But he still had to go to work. ?Your shirt?s dirty, your pants are dirty, your visor?s dirty? you?re filthy! Go home and come back after you clean your ass up! Brian, Brenda, sorry? but I?m out of here.? ?FINE! I?ll send your check in a few days. Get out.? Eric went home and decided to call his friend Roy over for a Halo 2 session. I hear that he recently told the teacher on Lisa for turning him down on a date?? ?You?d think that you?d learn how to take care of your own problems by high school! I still haven?t forgiven him for convincing the school board to ban handheld gaming consoles, so I?m up for it.? Eric wasn?t a bully, but this kid had caused him a lot of problems in his school life. It was Wesley?s tendency to snitch that had put Eric on detention for skipping Mr. Walter?s class, that same tendency that got one of Eric?s best friends expelled for defending himself against Los Beaner Squad with Baggy Pants and Red Bandanas (stupid wannabe gang banging pieces of sh*t), and most recently, Wesley?s report that got gaming and manga banned from the school grounds. The fact that he was a scrawny nerd that chose not to work out didn?t justify any of this. All of these were fairly recent, and he was about to pay? again.
