Match 6 is up! As always... My only rule is to not spam up these threads. Don't just post the character that you voted for's name. If you're going to say who you voted for, then explain why you voted for who you voted for, even if that explanation is just quoting someone that shares your sentiments. It doesn't need to be complicated. Even something as simple as "I voted for Asuka because she has a lot more spunk than Rei" or "I voted for Asuka because she has a lot of spunk" will work. So long as it has more substance than "Asuka" or "Asuka's better", its fine. Hard to say who's gonna win. I'll say Lina because she's such a character. Kagura (Azumanga Daioh) vs. Lina Inverse (Slayers) (this picture still sucks, but its better than the other one that I had) I really don't have a lot to go off of with either of these characters. I've seen one Slayers OVA and read the first two volumes of the manga, and I've only seen the first DVD of Azumanga and Kagura only shows up for a second in that and doesn't even say anything. (I got oriented with the series before I watched it as I always do and noticed her hanging around) However, I liked what I saw of Lina. I suppose that you could call her the typical flat chested optimistic heroin with a few good twists. Kinda hard to sum those twists up though... I can think of a few other characters that shared Kagura's features (namely the tan and the hair style) and they were the friendly supportive combative types. But since Azumanga really doesn't seem to be the sort of anime that would have a combative type (unless you count spirited as combative), I'll just assume that she has the first two features with a bit of spunk added on. Eh, I'll give this vote to Lina. But Kagura still looks a whole lot better than flatty.

Time for match 5! Asuka will win this one. She's an insanely popular character, and with good reason. Asuka Langley Sohryu (Neon Genesis Evangelion) vs. Nana (Elfen Lied) (and once again, the image that somebody else posted ends up being the best one that I can find) Asuka gets my vote! I like her for the reason that a lot of Asuka fans like Asuka: her spunk! Oh, and her explanation on thermal expansion. And the way that she messed up those
mass-produced evas
in End of Evangelion. And the fact that she picks on everbody's favorite *cough* *cough* anti-hero Shinji. And... okay, I'll stop now. On the other hand, I don't know anything about Nana and the way that she's drawn could mean a lot of different things. From what I saw during the image search, she looks like "tragic" character of the series.
(just something about sad looking bleeding eyes that gives me that feeling)
If I'm right, she's either an annoyingly pathetic character or a very cool one. This match is no contest for me! For the record, Asuka's also the better looking of the two!

Listen up! If these things don't start getting some posts soon, I'm going to have to shut this down.(And the mods would if I didn't.) Like I keep saying at the beginning of each thread, it doesn't have to be long or complicated! You don't need to go into plot twists or examples or anything like that. I won't get irritated with you if you just say "I happen to like Katsumi's character more. She's more charismatic than Caska, and cuter." Just so long as it has more substance than "Katsumi" or "Katsumi's better", its fine. In other words, if you want this show to continue, pipe up and say something when you go to vote! I'm going to let this run until the Thursday after next. If the post count doesn't pick up by then, that's it. --- Speaking of posting, I'm putting down one more rule concerning tie breaking. In the case of a tie, I'll let the thread run for three more days. If I don't catch the tie being broken during those next three days, I'll be looking at who got the most users that posted in their favor. If that's a tie too, I'll be looking at the arguments on both sides and will award the win to the character that had the better argument supporting them. And in the unlikely case that that's a tie, I'll flip a coin. Fair and easy.

There's a tie. I won't be back until Monday, so I'll check again then. I'll also be starting the next two matches then. ---- This match hasn't gone anywhere since I left! In that case, I think that its time that I lay down a new rule. I'll be putting it in the thread in my sig. Since two posters voted for Caska and one voted for Katsumi, Caska goes on. Caska: 4 votes Katsumi: 4 votes Here is your winner by posted favorite, Caska! And the Band of the Hawk commander marches on!

Anime What anime world would you be most afraid to live in and why?

Neon Genesis Evangelion.
I don't want to turn into an orange pile of goo!
-
Why don't you answer your own question? To me, life is about doing what you enjoy and living how you want. If you can't enjoy yourself and fullfill your aspirations, what's the point of living? Of course most people will have to work hard to afford the things that they enjoy and to fulfill their aspirations, and there's bound to be some dark times where you'll find yourself unable to do either. On top of that, you have to be prepared for the consequences of your desired lifestyle as well. As a theif or assassin, your victims aren't going to lie down, and if you get caught, the government will throw your sorry *** in jail. Even in some straight and honest lifestyles, society will still have it out for you. (see politicians and nerds) But if you prepare for and deal with the consequences and push to the light at the end of the tunnel during bad times, I think that life will continue to be worth living.

I have to wait until August for the next volume for the next volume of Naruto to be released in America?! That's a full four months! Ridiculous.
Usagi should have just dumped Naru as soon as she got cooler friends.
Usagi has a romance with a dork that thinks that he's cool when he wears a ballroom suit and cape and starts throwing roses at people. (worst "cool" gimmick ever) She obviously doesn't know or doesn't care what "cool" means.

Why don't you move it to the otaku lounge? It would be completely on topic there.

Yeah, never touch Kazaa or Gater. I think that they're responsible for the initial flow of spyware and viruses that I got on my other computer.

Dogs are harder to take care of than cats. With cats, all the training that they require is teaching them that they don't go to the bathroom on the floor and not to chew on coards or claw sofas, and with most cats, you can teach both of those with a nice smack to the head everytime that they break those rules. With dogs, not only have to potty train them (granted, crates make that much easier), you have to teach to control themselves around other people (including teaching them not to snap), not to jet out the door and down the street at every given chance, and if you have big dogs you have to get them out of the habbit of jumping on the furnature. Some really energetic and agressive dogs require addtional training to keep them in check. Plus with dog crap, you have to get the scooper and a bag and clean it up. Its disgusting work. With cats, all you have to do grab the bag in the liter box and throw it in the trash. Cats are much easier to take care of.

What did you think of this last generation of console gaming compared to the 32-bit (Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis) and 64-bit (Nintendo 64 and Playstation) eras? In the midsts of things, I thought that it was unfairly ciritsized as an era of flash over substance. But looking back, they were right. Short 10-20 hour graphic fests were advertised and pushed to the moon while most of the story-laced RPGs that I'd come to love in the 64-bit era were so hushed that there was no way to hear about them except to look and listen on forums or search "the back alleys" of videogame review websites, and even then, there weren't near as many worth mentioning as in the previous era. Of course, it wasn't without its gems. GTA3 and GTA San Andreas are a couple of my favorite games ever. There was also Final Fantasy X (which wasn't as good as FF 7-9 but was still excellent), Morrowind (PC version was still much better though), MGS2 and MGS3, Ninja Gaiden, Eternal Darkness, DOA3 and DOAU, Xenosaga Episode 1, .hack (which might as well be one game on four disks), and Star Ocean. Its bad that from these past 5 years, these are probaby all of the console titles that I'm going to remember (positively) by themselves at the end of the next generation of gaming. (without straining myself trying to remember) And its expecially bad when you consider that the original Playstation had so many great, memorable, and long games that I could probably type up 50 right off the top of my head if I felt like it.

Who's your favorite WWE diva within the past 5 years? Trish Stratus is my favorite and has been for a very long time. And she's even better now that she's turned heel and picked up some mic skills. Maybe the fans new loudly voiced opinion of Lita will make WWE allow Trish to win one of their long-term fueds for once. Just for the record, Gail Kim is my second favorite. She really shouldn't have been released!

Lots of things. A hot rod, a barbell (been needing one of those), anime, videogames, etc. But if I were to spend it on one thing, it'd probably be a good car. Maybe a classic Mustang or Charger? These new cars crunch too easy. Its really sad when a mere 10 mile an hour tap can put a dent in the back bumper. Even human bodies are more durable than that, which is made even sadder when you think that people are fragile compared to most other creatures our size. I like the old durable steel cars better.

This guy's pusing 80. He'll be dead in a decade or so. He's just a transitional pope until some middle aged guy that looks like he can handle the position to the church's satisfaction shows up.

Let's not forget about adware either. Having to wait through random advertisements while trying to load a page can get almost as annoying.
As for my cat, well....... I had to give him the middle name Lucifer because he did turn out evil! LOL You hear the stories about how the dog destroyed this or that, well in my case it's the cat! We finally had to fix a room with almost nothing in it and keep him in there. We can't let him roam as he chews on any and eveything, his personal favirote being powercords. :animesigh Though sometimes I'm tempted to just let the little rat get electrocuted. Heck, we even had to remove posters off the walls of the room he was in as he would pull the tacks out with his teeth and then proceed to start chewing the poster off the wall!
All of my cats had that problem at first. Since your dealing with animals, the most effective solution is the primal one. *SMACK SMACK SMACK* After five or six minor beatings, they should get the idea and never touch a power coard again. Jusy be sure you smack them during or RIGHT after they get done chewing on the power coard, otherwise they might not understand why their getting smacked. Alternatively, just use some negative figure that'll let them know that your not happy with them, like a broom.

I like cats and dogs about equally... they both have their perks. With cats, they're easy to take care of, and if you raised them right, they can be just as loyal of companions as any dog. My cat follows me around everywhere and always gives fair warning (ears back, twitch twitch) before he resorts to the claws.
LOL to tell the truth, those of us who were on the bottom rung so to speak often wondered. After all programs like MacFee only upgrade for a year and you have to go buy another version. :animesigh It wouldn't surprise me to find out some of the virsus actually came from companies that produce anti-virsus software, or any other company that would get a financial gain from the virsus causing problems. :animesigh I'm cynical enough that not even the president is free from being suspected. ;) Mind you I'm not a conspiracy theory type of person, but I fimly believe in the corruption of large corporations. :animesigh One of the areas where I am not proud to be American. :animesigh
I can't believe that I didn't think of that! I'm usually the first to think of the profitting problem fixer as the potential problem causer as well as the first to point my finger at large corporations as the cause of many of our problems. Maybe I can find a way to look into this...

I love women. I don't find other guys attractive in the least. I mean the sweat, the BO, the masculine figure, it and them... how could a guy possibly be attracted to another guy?

SN: You're a loner and you're last name is Tremaine? Avatar: I don't know who that character is, but whoever he is, you like him enough to put him there. (Is that the guy from Bloody Roar?) Sig: You like poetic stuff and you like making forum RPGs. -
According to the doctor's office, 5' 7" and a half. But everybody says that I look like I'm 5' 9" or 5' 10" with my shoes off, and I'm barely shorter than my 5" 10' and a half friend.
