My favorite spirited Sailor Senshi vs. the stereotypical unpractical Gundam peace-seeking chick! My only rule is to not spam up these threads. Don't just post the character that you voted for's name. If you're going to say who you voted for, then explain why you voted for who you voted for, even if that explanation is just quoting someone that shares your sentiments. It doesn't need to be complicated. Even something as simple as "I voted for Asuka because she has a lot more spunk than Rei" or "I voted for Asuka because she has a lot of spunk" will work. So long as it has more substance than "Asuka" or "Asuka's better", its fine. Based on the responses from last time, it seems like Lacus is the more popular of the two. I hope that I'm wrong... Minako Aino/Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon) vs. Lacus Clyne (Gundam Seed) I really like Minako and I don't like Lacus, so obviously, Minako gets my vote. Lacus' ideas for peace are totally crap... but then again, so is Gundam's whole idea of war. In real life, the rest of politicians would just blow her off and continue looking for their new bank. I hate stupid idealist pseudo-philosopher characters like Lacus. Minako isn't anywhere near as deep as Lacus, but she's funny and tends to take control when Usagi isn't around. (Apprently, she plays that role 24/7 in the manga) Lacus is cute, but Minako's even cuter. So she wins on looks as well.

The new Darth Vader sucks. That was one of the most pathetic scenes in high-budget movie history.

^They're both rock bands, though Slipknot is a bit harder and bit faster paced. I liked Slipknot's earlier stuff. (that's why I said old Slipknot) And NIN might as well be techno. Can you honestly call what they do rock?
-
HOW COULD YOU EVEN COMPARE THOSE TWO?! Nine inch nails sucks *ss! They're out of tune, and they're ear wrenching to listen to! They're bad, even for a techno band. Tool, on the hand, kicks *ss! I wouldn't quiet put them up there with old Slipknot or System of a Down, but they're still good enough that buying one of their CDs wouldn't be a waste of money.

What's wrong with the original Dark Cloud? The only thing that I really didn't like about it was that annoyingly depressing sound track in the third dungeon. Well that, and that three out of five characters were almost useless. I liked Dark Cloud 2, though I never got around to finishing it during the time that I rented it. Maybe I'll go out and buy it.

Mesmerized is a kick *** CD. Its one of the few cases where I really like every song on the CD. My favorites are Radio/Video and that last song. (can't remember the name...) My friend has the CD right now... This morning, he asked if he could borrow it until he came back later that evening to burn it. (I usually sleep during the day) I have yet to see him since then. If I don't get the CD back tommorrow and he doesn't have a good excuse the next time I see him, I'm gonna have finish off that crappy walkman that he left at my house... (he's using mine)

Anime Samurai Pizza Cats and lack of existance
Bloodseeker replied to ForgottenRaider's topic in Otaku Central
Screw legality. That stuff's old, it hasn't officially been on the market for a LONG time. I can't find anything official on it, but I'm almost completely sure that no company in the US has the licensing rights. Anime companies in Japan don't usually care about people here pirating the stuff that isn't licensed to anyone in the US, so not even the fansubbers have a whole lot to worry about. And have you ever heard of people getting fined just for downloading torrents? I haven't. Just go for it. Its probably the only way that you're ever going to see that show again, and the chances of you getting in trouble are slim to nil. -
Anime Samurai Pizza Cats and lack of existance
Bloodseeker replied to ForgottenRaider's topic in Otaku Central
All I've got to say is go look for a torrent. Plus, you'll get to see all of the good stuff that was undoubtedly cut out for American audiences! Google search for Cat Ninden torrent! That's a good place to start. And yeah, I remember Samurai Pizza Cats. I was almost never up early enough to watch it, but when I was, I always enjoyed it. On a side note, I hated Bananas in Pajamas. That show caused me to go back to sleep at 5 rather than get up for SPC so many times... I know it's an indirect connection, but linking to (links of) illegal download files are still against OB's Rules. The Search term should be enough for starters, heh. -Solo -
Anime The Official Otaku Boards Top 50, erm, 45 Anime Series!!!
Bloodseeker replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Otaku Central
I don't remember voting in that thread! Well, I guess that doesn't change the fact that I did. I would have thrown Elfen Lied on that list if I had seen it sooner... -
Most classical music gives me a headache that won't go away until I blast some heavy metal. These guys were great artists in their own right, but its not my thing.
Sorry but this makes me laugh. Nicki more productive? Why just cause she strays away from the spotlight that makes her so much better? No, she's just as bad. She's just not in the tabloids as much. This is a girl who got married for two months and then split and had her mom talk her out of it. Yeah she's really more productive. Also, even though Paris has no talent whatsoever (dont get me wrong) atleast she's trying to make it on her own. She's coming out with an album (yeah I listened to it, it sucks yes we know), had her reality show, has a perfume line, starred in a movie (she actually did some good acting. suprising) and has her own corporation. Don't get wrong what I'm saying, I hate Paris as much as you do, but for her cockiness, and the fact that she puts on such a dumb act, but saying Nicki is better is just not true. [/COLOR']
Have you ever read an interview with Nicki? She doesn't get caught up on... oh, what's that thing again... it spins around... and does something to your clothes... that's right, a washer! (stupid Paris) Also, she's shown interest in the designing world, designing handbags. That's more than Paris can say. Its also said that she has a much better business sense than her sister, though I don't feel like going into that much research for something so minor...
I agree she acts dumb. Completely stupid. But how much of that is an act? People eat up dumb blondes. I mean just look at Jessica Simpson. People love it. She has a corporation, she has to run it somehow, I'm sure 98% of that corporation is run by people she hires, but what about the 2%? I'm sure theres a pea of a brain working in there..no one can be THAT stupid. I think she's using it for publicity, since you haven't noticed, she loves the attention. She was even happy about the attention she got from the sex tape that made her a "celebrity". But then again you might be right. It just seems like someone drilled a hole through her head. I just can't believe someone can be that dumb and have a corporation...you actually you know..have to work in that buisness... You have to be involved in it. I wish I could get payed just for parying though...think about it...Oh and by the way, Paris Hilton is a bigger publicity whore easily. Britney is just hanging onto her fame since she lost it.
I think that we have a fanboy/fangirl on our hands. She hasn't done anything yet to make me believe that she's not completely stupid. If she weren't dumb, she would be using her extreme popularity to promote the family business that she might end up taking control of sometime in the future. How hard would it be to convince her family to put her on commercials advertising their resorts?
Atleast Paris Hilton is actually TRYING to do something....even if I don't all agree with it...here are some things that just don't make sense...
And what exactly is that something, again? Partying and being a dumbass? And staring in the world's stupidest "reality" tv show which even she admitted was staged? She's not doing anything with herself other than using her beauty to make guest appearances on VH1 and MTV specials. That's not exactly what I'd call trying to do something. She's probably not even going to take over the family business. I'd be willing to bet that its going to be left to her smarter and more productive sister, Nicki.

Where did this come from, again? -
I'm one of those guys that get annoyed when five of his friends show up at his house unexpected. I also become equally annoyed when groups of people that I don't know recognize me and decide to follow me around and chat. I love my privacy, and I don't like hanging around a lot of people if I can help it. How do you think that I'd feel if I became famous? I wouldn't be going out without a disguise, that's for sure. But if my career choice were to inevitibly lead me to fame, I'd want to be known as the politician that brought common sense back to the country. To the courts and the endless opportunities that they present to the common man to rip others off, to the people and their apathy to their own rights, and to our government and their gradual progression towards becoming a fascist nation. (for lack of a better way to put it)
There is so many of these things surrounding McDonalds, coincidence? I think not. I also heard of people trying to sue McDonalds for gaining weight...*confused* Is it not you who put the food in your mouth and swallowed it? Just because the food is made and advertised, does not mean you have to eat it. So shut your fat holes please ;)
That's what happens when our court systems throw common sense out the window, people get sued for doing their jobs and just living.
Also, people who believe guns should be done away with. Now, I'm no crazy redneck, but really, the statement that "guns kill people" is completely untrue. People kill people, guns are simply a tool to do so. If guns were taken away, people would still kill other people, just in different ways. Way to help expand murderous patterns! WOO
People will always look for a scapegoat. In this case, it just happens to be guns and the people that sale them. What they fail to realize is that the people that would use them to invade other people's rights probably don't care about the law and would just pick them up on the black market anyways. Its just like putting in rules to stop rule-breakers. It won't work. All it'd do is limit the upstanding citizen's ability to defend themselves should a person with gun attack them.
I also don't like people who work at a fast food place, and then complain all the time because they work there. Well, first off, its your own fault you work there, apparently you're not smart enough to get a job paying above minimum wage. Second, I don't need to hear your problems nor your complaints concerning your life, just serve me my food and be on your way.
You know when you get what's called a "hold-over job" while you look for a better, more permanant job? That's probably where they are, except that they're not having much luck finding that better job. You know what's funny? I never would have figured to spray pressurized cans upside down if the cans didn't say not to do it.
-
^Not really. If anything, it'll make those that really need to work on their spelling and grammar view it as even dorkier than before. You know how their brain works. Unless it can be aplied to something that most people find fun (unlikely), it will continue to be referred to as an uber-nerd's hobby.

Anime What two characters would make the best opponents for a fight?
Bloodseeker replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Hiei and Vegeta, come on they both have big attitude problems and they would be fighting with anger!!!! hahaha...
Vegeta would get flattened by Hiei's one-liners. -
Why is Paris Hilton a celebrity? Sure she's hot, but she hasn't exactly done anything meaningful. And I doubt that its her family... its not like the Hilton family itself is terribly famous. Plus, she's a complete dumbass... talk about a stereotypical blond.
-
1. Minako. Rei's a close second, though. 2. S 3. Chibiusa, by far. I wanna kill Tuxedo Mask too. 4. I didn't hate any of them... 5. From what I remember, yeah. Didn't Ami have a Chicago accent? Doesn't fit the character at all. 6. No, unfortunately...

I loved Digimon World 1, its one of the most underrated games around, but DW 2 was terrible. (Digimon World 3 sucked too, but not near as bad as 2... just way too much leveling up in the later parts!) Both 2 and 3 were traditional turn-based RPGs that dragged on and didn't really have any twists (either in the gameplay or the story) to make them worth anyone's while. In DW2, you ride around in a "tank" (buggy) and move through a bland dungeon made out of colored square tiles over an endless black abyss. The battles don't change the environment either. Did I mention that you can only go up and down and left and right? No diagnol moving in this game. How lazy can you get? The character models in the battles aren't as bad, but they're still nothing special, and they're still standing on ground surrounded by black abyss as far as the eye can see! Like I said, terrible.
